Is Cristela cohosting? If so it appears they are testing for new hosts this week with her and Gretchen or maybe someone is just on vacation. But with Candace and Raven gone and soon Whoopi I guess that would make sense.

going to be interesting Friday. They need to call out Omarosas BS. When the election started she said she is a "big democrat" and would love to see Hillary vs Donald in a race. but went all out Donald. Idk how a big Obama loving democrat can go full Trump.

#Alternativefacts: I had a glass of wine with dinner tonight.

Considering all that's going on now, I wish they would book Ashley Judd, America Ferrara, Gloria Steinem, Scarlett Johansson and some of the others from the #WomensMarch. Fine by me if Whoopi calls in sick.

What did Madonna do? TIA.

Jed is becoming completely intolerable to me. She is so strident and she chirps so fast. It reminds me of Bits. That says it all right there.

I find Paula mildly annoying compared to Jed. And thank you Jesus that CCB is toast. Don't miss Raven for that matter either.

I'm a little terrified that I've been agreeing with Whoopi lately . That puzzles me and I wonder about my sanity

Love Joy. Always have.

I guess I should watch the whole show (on DVR) before opening my yapper.

Did my eyes deceive me.........or was Jedi nodding in agreement when panel members were speaking against the Trumpy administration plans to give the federal government control over women's health decisions?

I should pay more attention. I'll go ahead and say it. I dont sit and watch this show (or many shows) I do other things , fold laundry, read comments here ....while the show is background noise.

I'm thinking Jed was trying to emulate the white outfits Trump's people wore to the inauguration ceremony.

It also looks so cheaply made.  The "bell bottoms" hem is too thin.  It needs to have a good and sturdy hem to handle the line...and the shoes?  WRONG, so wrong!

Now when I see Jediblahblah's shoulderless or slashed outfits, all I can think of is the remark that Pat Sajak made to Vanna on a recent Wheel of Fortune:  "So, when the dress shop said '10% Off', you thought they meant the price".

Oh, and personally, I never really minded Cristela other than the laugh.

I don't mind her, but I don't see anything special.  I'm sure she thinks that laugh is a fabulous trademark.  It will never leave.

Was she wearing boots?

I was trying to figure out what she had on her feet.

I hadn't seen the clip of Donald exiting the car at the White House and lumbering up the steps to the waiting Obamas, leaving Melania to trail along behind him like some kind of servant.  Man, what an asshole.  It was such a small moment out of the whole day but I am so glad they took the time to air it.  It really does sum up what the next four years are going to be like.  It's all about The Donald!  It's his world and everyone (including his wife) is just living in it.

And Jed was right, he didn't treat Melania like someone special when she was at the debates,  It was different from the way other candidates treated their spouses. Did anyone notice their body language during that dance to "My Way?"  She could barely stand to have him touch her (who can blame her?). And the thing about not moving into the White House right away ... I am convinced their relationship is completely dead and they would be getting a divorce if he had not been elected.  #FreeMelania, indeed.

Oh well, she married an nasty old geezer for his money and as they say, she is going to have to earn every penny.  Maybe they will be the first presidential couple to get a divorce while in office, lol

I do think that she was going to use his loss of the presidency, as her exit strategy.  You cannot tell me that she was not mortified by that access Hollywood tape.  Once he did win, she had to negotiate her deal, with the turd bathed in cheetoh, to continue, with their farce, of a marriage.  Rumor has it that she was Donald's mistress, when he was married to Marla.

Whoopie and the rest of the ladies were on fire today, except for Jed. I still want her gone.  I also wanted to highlight Sunny, for voicing her opinion about Abortion. While, that would never be an option, for her, she would not preclude another woman, from exercising that right, for herself.  I wish we would get more of  that type of nuanced perspective on Abortion.

I completely agree.  Sunny respects the right of other women to make their own choice about abortion the same way she has made her own choice, even though she knows many times their choice would be a different one than hers.

But I think Whoopi is too dismissive of those women (and men) who disagree with her position when she starts in with the "if you are against abortion then don't have one" spiel.  That reasoning may be fine for an issue like gay marriage where what other people are doing truly has nothing to do with you.  But most anti-choice people oppose abortion because they feel it is "murder" and they believe they are standing up for the rights of the unborn who can't stand up for themselves.  They feel strongly that they DO have an interest in the matter, that they are fighting to save the life of a helpless being.

To suggest "just don't get an abortion" to a right-to-lifer is the same thing as suggesting to people who oppose capital punishment that they just don't take a job that requires them to throw the switch on the electric chair to execute someone since they don't like the death penalty.  It's smug and ignores the sincere concerns that form the basis for their position.

I do want to say that I appreciate Whoopi's passion and consistency in standing up for abortion rights.  I just wish she would stick to more well-reasoned and substantive points when she states her opinion. She just comes across as glib and snide when she starts with the "then don't have one" stuff and it derails more meaningful discussion.

She could really take a lesson from Sunny today

I think that the reason that Whoopie is so defensive about Abortion, it is because I suspect that she has had them in the past.  So, she feels that the anti-choice people are judging her for the reasons that you mentioned above.  She gets really passionate when the subject comes up and she is not able to articulate her thoughts well and it comes out smug and condescending.  Plus, Whoopie does not like to be contradicted by anybody.  Whereas, Joy, is pro-choice and she articulates her feelings really well. Plus, Joy grew up in an age, where Women had to get their husbands permission to get a bank account or a prescription for birth control.  She comes at it differently than Whoopie. She is all about, a woman, having agency, on all levels and that includes an Abortion, if she chooses it, without any judgements, from her. I also suspect, it is why Joy, took so long, to marry, her longtime beau. She did not want to lose her autonomy, by marrying again.

A photo following this showed the Obamas allowing Melania to enter and both had a hand on her back to kindly escort her in.  Trump was several steps ahead and oblivious.  No wonder she wants to stay far far away in NY.

Exactly.  Whereas, while the Obamas and the Trumps were standing, waiting, for the helicopter, to take them away. Barack subtly took Michele's hand and kissed it.  It was just so natural for him to be affectionate with his wife...I miss them already...I cannot see the Orange turd being this way with Melania.

I'm not looking forward to seeing Omarosa on the show. She's just as bad as Trump - and now she has an even bigger p[latform to spout her lies and hateful nature. She's the one that said all of Trumps detractors would  "bow down"  if he won. I didn't like her before - I like her even less than that now.

I saw this picture the other day. The Obamas looked like the parents and Melania was the child.

And that is, pro-choice. Acknowledging that there are different circumstances for different women, and giving every woman the freedom to choose what is best for her in her own circumstances and heart. One can be anti-abortion and pro-choice.

A friend ran this on Facebook and then retracted it because he said he had gotten information it was run backward, and the audio track had been put over the doctored video. I hope so. No matter who they are, and what my feelings are toward Trump, it rips my heart out to see despair like that. I hope it is not how Melania is treated.

Thanks. I wondered if it was doctored. As much as I can't stand Agent Orange, I detest when people photoshop or misrepresent situations (like I saw someone had photoshopped Pres. Obama's hand to make it look like he was grabbing Melania's ass. Not cool.

As such, I am removing this video. Again, thanks.

Michelle Obama was motivated to start the 'keep moving' campaign because of her children...and I have a feeling Melania is inspired to take up cyber bullying a r cause cause she is a my to a 10 year old...and sees what can happen if isn't stopped at an early age (her hubby).

According to what I am finding, that clip of Melania is completely authentic and people are starting to talk about it.

ETA: I found versions of the story other places, too.  It's the real deal, taken from the actual tape of the ceremony.

I think whoever is claiming that the video has been doctored or is running backwards is trying to spread some "alternative facts" around ... because you can see in the actual long form of the video what happens.  It's not being run backwards.  I don't know what he said to her, but whatever it was wiped the smile right off her face.  And the look on Ivanka's face looks a bit strained.  What the hell did he turn around and say to her?

Man I hope someone brings this up on tomorrow's show!  It would be a perfect follow-up to the clip of him being so rude to her at the White House.

The right derided Michelle for her initiative, that she had no right to tell people how to feed their kids.  I bet you that they will praise Melania for her initiative, she will  be lauded for it.

Well, now someone else said it's not doctored and that there is a long shot showing the same thing. I don't know, but it's going viral. The look on her face makes me so sad.

They showed the photo of rump going in the door and both Obamas aiding or touching Melania. The psychology  imo and it can be googled for political factors, is awesome. What rump doesn't know is that the person who holds the door is the person in POWER. The person who walks in first is the lesser one. Yep. And if the person holding the door for the other person who is going in first is touching that person , THAT is the person in power. It is subtle. W used this tactic well bc someone taught him. Obama was in charge even at the very end and good for him. Awesome. Orange ass went in first thinking he is all that. And that is the lesser position heheheheheheh

I'll be watching. I wasn't going to watch the inauguration out of protest. Then I changed my mind and felt the need to see how it unfolded rather than a clip later of this and that. I guess it is the - keep my friends close and my enemies closer" kind of thing for me.

I'm wondering why no one is reporting that Russia is trying to legalize domestic abuse.  I've seen the report on three Canadian news channels & I'm thinking this is what Trump is trying to cozy up to!!  12,000 women a year are killed in Russia!!!   Read for yourself.  Appalling!!!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/armine-sahakyan/a-change-in-the-law-will_b_14305202.html

On the other hand, Trump treats his wife like crap in public, so why wouldn't he agree with this!!??

And on another note, please - I am BEGGING!  Can someone make Jed go away?  I can't stand anything about her, and at this point I'm hanging on by a thread.  The way she prances out, waving as though the audience is there just for her.  And then she opens her mouth and goes on and on and on as though she's the most fascinating person in the room and there's no need for anyone else to speak.   Someone needs to tell her that she's there to have conversations, not to deliver endless monologues.  She brings nothing to this show, and takes quite a bit away from it.   She's nowhere near as cute or smart or insightful or entertaining as she thinks she is.  I just can't anymore.  Unbearable!

Thank you for permitting me to vent.

If someone has a moral objection to abortion I totally respect that however when their moral objection turns into wanting to control what all women do that crosses a line.

I will say though at least this table of ladies can discuss the issue without one of them ending up someone's lap having a mental breakdown.

What I object to in the Whoopi's discussion method I'd that there is little discussion.  Although I'm a firm believer abortion is one of those things you will most likely not change a persons belief in by discussion, I still enjoy hearing intelligent argument.  I think Joy had a good point when she asked how 'right to life' believers felt about war and capital punishment?  Her question was buried by Whoopi's squawks.  That's not a discussion to me.

As far as the March was concerned, the issue of reproductive rights was in the forefront- it's whatever YOU want to do to your body.  I can see where some would want to tarnish the legitimacy of the March by saying Right to Life groups were not welcome.
