Athena January 7, 2017 Share January 7, 2017 Quote On Graham's sofa are Hollywood stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, starring together in the all-singing, all-dancing hit La La Land. Plus Oscar-winning actor and director Ben Affleck and British star Sienna Miller, who are appearing in crime film Live By Night. And music from Gregory Porter, who performs Holding On from his latest album Take Me to the Alley. Link to comment

attica January 22, 2017 Share January 22, 2017 Aww, that was a good couch. Not particularly diverse (all white, around the same age), but they were all pleasant and fun with one another. I've been trying to decide who Gregory Porter sounds like. I've got this tickle in the back of my brain suggesting one of the singers from the 70s. Maybe Bill Withers? George Benson? Can't quite get there. Help me out! Also, if anybody knows why he wears that underchin wrap thingy, I am curious. I expected Graham to hat-tip Carrie Fisher more than just the ending clip-tag. They were good friends, right? But maybe they don't like that kind of sentimentality in the UK. 1 Link to comment

Our friend Wiki has the answer: For public appearances, Porter always wears a hat that incorporates fabric that covers his ears and chin.[21] In an interview with Jazzweekly.com by George W. Harris on 3 November 2012, when asked "What's with the weird and wonderful hat?" Porter replied, "I've had some surgery on my skin, so this has been my look for a little while and will continue to be for a while longer. People recognise me by it now. It is what it is." He's very soulful. He's been on the show before, and I enjoyed that appearance, too. 4 Link to comment
attica January 22, 2017 Share January 22, 2017 Good info, dub! As a person in menopause, however, it makes me hot-flash just thinking about wearing that under stage lights. 2 Link to comment
kat165 January 23, 2017 Share January 23, 2017 I found this couch rather boring. Ryan was more relaxed and animated the last time he was on, with Russell Crowe, I think and some British comedian? Affleck looking very very tired. But Emma and Sienna were bright. And finally, a red chair! 2 Link to comment

peeayebee January 24, 2017 Share January 24, 2017 His face looks puffy, and that always makes me think of prednisone. I have no idea though. He was more animated than the last time I saw him, whether on this show or another, I can't remember. I thought this one was good. Emma Stone is very entertaining and looks like she'd be fun to hang with. Gosling was adorable. I also liked Sienna. Thanks, dubbel zout, for the info about the hat. I was very curious. 1 Link to comment

On a recent roundtable sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter, a group of actors were asked who they'd want as company on a desert island, and Andrew Garfield said Stone. Obviously their breakup wasn't too ugly. 2 Link to comment
Mumbles January 29, 2017 Share January 29, 2017 I admire Meryl Streep greatly as an actor and person, I think the cult of worship around her is a little much, but dammit that story Gosling told about Streep complimenting his mother on her hair was one of the nicest stories I've heard about a celebrity and made me like her even more. 5 Link to comment
