In an effort to reconnect with her friends before her big move to Dubai, Caroline Stanbury takes all the ladies on trip to Scotland. Staying in a 15th-century castle Caroline Felming feels right at home, but the "no rules" itinerary puts Julie on the defense. Meanwhile, Sophie continues to pledge her loyalty to her family over friends. Marissa is confronted over starting the rumors about Caroline Stanbury's legal issues and Adela opens up about her troubled past.

Ok I'll start :)

Julie, you have never looked better - but if you're not being paid extra to put a little black cloud over every gathering, you should get that in your contract ASAP!

Caroline Fleming is the biggest showoff I think I've ever seen.  I didn't have time to weigh in on her last week, with her whole "I'm a working mother!  I have to work!  (I have to come up with 15 new or modified recipes a year for a cookbook)"  The others are all often petty and stupid and rude, but this chick is the one I can't stand.  "I'll get breakfast in town."  Yeah, you've got great manners.  What a snot.  And we're all aware that you set up the whole candles/crystals/meditation scene for a camera shot.  I hate her :)

Okay, I watched the episode and was so confused that I re-watched it. Did Marissa start the rumor and once Caroline Stanbury came after her, she denied it and then broke down? Or were they just accusing her of starting it?

Ugh... Juliet. No words.

Overall, I don't know if producers are encouraging them to rev up the drama or what, but it's getting very nasty to the point where I want to mute the tv and just watch for the scenery.

The Scotland trip seems to have been shot after production was supposed to have wrapped, according to the cast's Instagrams this fall. I'm guessing the producers did not feel there was enough conflict in the season and added the Scotland trip. Your instincts are on point.

No, Caroline is the only person who has stated it was Marissa, spreading this around town when she was on bedrest. She has literally never brought Caroline up or this rumor with any of the women as shown on this ep it was Caroline F and Juliet who brought up the rumors to Marissa with Juliet saying she had heard (clearly from Caroline) that Marissa had started but never stated that she heard it from her. Hell even Luke who started the whole convo didn't even say Marissa. It has literally only been Caroline S. Marissa's breakdown seemed classic tired, stressed out mom and the last jab from Caroline S. about the "talks" she has had with the other women on the show not her talking about Stanbury.

Juliet is LITERALLY THE FUCKING WORST! The talking head was bad but the lack of empathy at the table was beyond awful.

An appalling woman.

The worst part of the montage of Juliet being an asshole is that when Juliet was yelling "keep being ruder!" she was mostly in the right. Annabelle was being a snide condescending jerk.

I hope Twitter is dragging Juliet's ignorant ass. I hope she's getting not a moments rest. Completely lacking in any empathy.

Stanbury needs to not be so proud of herself with her lack of rules and being a better hostess because right now she's not doing better than Jules. Stanbury bolted from Mapperton after minor ribbing. Marissa has been accused of starting a rumor with no evidence and berated by Juliet. Additionally, hostess extraordinaire let Juliet shame Adela for being suicidal. Also there's nothing admirable about adopting a feral, aggressive, ill-tempered American pet if it bites everyone around you.

CarFlem is so full of herself.

Let me repeat unless Luke is going to go on camera and state that he heard Marissa start the rumor while he was doing her makeup, we have no evidence that Marissa started or repeated the rumor. Stanbury needs to stop because now she looks like a petty paranoid.

Marissa seems to be dealing with postnatal depression.  Between her traumatic pregnancy and hysterectomy she is in hormone hell and is totally physically and emotionally exhausted.  The last thing she needed was to be subjected to CarolineS and her minion Juliet.  It was appalling that these two self centered woman could not see how Marissa was struggling.  Neither of these women have an ounce of empathy.

If you want your blood to boil even more, pop over to twitter when you get a chance and see the venom Caroline Stanbury is pouring on Marissa, even ridiculing her word choice.

Luke just said "the girls are wondering" with no specific indication of which "girl" or "girls" is/are wondering. The only person who says it came from Marissa is Stanbury and she doesn't even use Marissa's name in that conversation with Luke about the others gossiping.

He simply said when I get together with "the ladies" and Caroline said it was Marissa! This was when Marissa was on bedrest so I don't think she was hanging out with Luke. In fact other than the van ride from the airport  have we seen Luke hangout with the women when Caroline wasn't there. I mean it's clearly a set up because as soon as Luke says the "ladies" have been talking she spits out Marissa's name Luke and the other friend who is at the table say absolutely nothing, the only person who seems to be spreading this rumor around London, I guess I should spell it rumour, is Caroline S.

I spent the entire episode rolling my eyes and wishing for all of them to shut up.  This show might be dead to me, which is a bummer because I used to love it.

I especially don't have time for Marissa whining about how it feels weird to be without her husband when she's blithely ditching her new born to jet off the the Hamptons.

For my money, Juliet started the rumor and then attributed it to Marissa. I really can't stand her and her ferret face. She looks like she smells something that offends her very being.

Her whole attitude when Adela talked about her suicide attempt was simply appalling. So devoid of empathy and humanity. I would like for her to be flattened by one of those red double-decker buses.

How shady was it when Caroline realized her bathroom wasn't connected to her room in the castle and quickly asked Marissa to switch ( claiming she needed to be next to boy toy Luke)?!

Loved the castle porn.

I don't think that Marissa can have it both ways. She can't be on the edge of sanity, and then jet off to New York without her infant daughter. I don't know. I can't get behind her. I hope that everything works out for her, postpartum depression is a bitch, but there is so much about her that I can't stand. When Caroline Stanbury was making her toast,  Marissa was making little heart eyes at her. Then when it came to her talking head, all she had for Caroline is hatred and harsh words. I don't like the duplicity.

Caroline Fleming  should tape her voice and listen to it over and over again because it is obviously the most dulcet and soothing thing in the world to her. Jeez, she just thinks she is the most precious thing to ever walk God's green earth.   How anyone can tolerate her is baffling. She must be really really really really really really really rich.

Julie  is just stupid. I can't believe that she thinks that taking over Mapperton and all its TEA TOWEL DUTIES is the hardest thing she's ever had to do. What a delightfully privileged rich white woman complaint. She drowns in half a glass of water. She needs to take up charity, or something. Something that helped her realize how unbelievably unimportant and trite her complaints are in the grand scheme of things.

What can I say about that little rodent Juliet that hasn't been said already? Outside of the complete and utter vitriol that I feel toward her, I sincerely hope that no one close to her ever succumbs to depression. She is an idiot and I hope that the show is the last anyone ever hears of her.   I hope that she and her tacky blog fade into obscurity, because she is completely and totally wasting space. Bitch, bye.

Wow, what a fun dinner party. They start things off with sex talk and then nosedive into suicide attempts. Poor Adela was opening up about something deeply personal and painful, and Juliet could not have been more tone deaf and lacking in tact. What a terrible person she is. If she wants to judge Adela, that's fine, but she should keep her opinions to herself. Even Caroline Stanbury was appalled by what Juliet said, which speaks volumes.

That castle was fucking spectacular. I'm not sure why we needed Marissa's snotty comments about switching rooms. All of the rooms were gorgeous, it's not a big deal to stay in one over the other. And Marissa's mood swings are out of control. One minute she wants to be out drinking and socializing, the next she's crying because she's not with Sadie. I do feel sympathy for her though, because she's been through a lot and it probably is hard to balance having an infant with all her other wants and obligations.

Caroline Fleming looked so fab in her sparkly top. I want to hang out with her and talk about food.

Okay- thanks for clarifying. I thought I missed something from a previous episode where Marissa did actually say something.

In the episode where Luke and Caroline talk about the rumors, Caroline excuses the rest of the girls because they are "housewives" but goes after Marissa because she should "know better" because of Matt's businesses.

So she seems to target Marissa and place the blame on her, but that somehow gets twisted into the whole 'Marissa started the rumor' brigade and they're out for blood.

I don't usually like all the bickering in these shows, but I have no loyalties here and I'm kind of enjoying Caroline burning her own empire to the ground. I never thought she was hiding anything but now methinks the lady doth protest too much. At the end of the day I don't really care, but I do hope we get a better peek at the Dubai house because it looks gorgeous.

I still think Marissa and Juliet can go. I know they're only around to fulfill the American quota but it seems they dropped that shtick from season one so happy for them to exit asap. And frankly I don't understand why Marissa would sign up for another season considering everything she went through with this baby. She's inviting a dirty film crew into the nursery and staging contrived visits with people she doesn't even like. If she wasn't on the show, she wouldn't have to be in Scotland whining about how everyone hates her. Makes me think she's the one who needs the money from this show to stay afloat.

The only woman I care for this season is Adela and I hated watching Juliet behaving so insensitively with absolutely no remorse. I think she's everything these girls aspire to be: honest, kind and easy-going. I hope she sticks around as long as she can stand it. I'm rooting for her!

Because Caroline asking to switch was completely ridiculous she only did it because the bathroom wasn't connected. If someone had pulled that crap with Caroline she would have either refused to move or stormed out of the castle completely.

I've never had kedgeree that didn't have eggs in it, either hardboiled or scrambled. If you want to be fancy, you can have it with a poached egg on top. It doesn't always have fish in it, but it always has eggs. I don't know why the server didn't mention that. I know that CarFlem wanted fresh eggs and kedgeree tends to be a little bit like curried fish fried rice.

Juliet is so stupid and socially unaware.  I actually feel bad for her.

I was so disappointed in Flemming.  She of ALL of them should've smiled, kept her mouth shut, taken whatever was offered to eat and eaten in town later.  The clip was shown about how rude she thought the girls were being to Finn (the chef, I guess) who had breakfast ready for them at 10 am and they were still sleeping.  Her behavior had shades of RHoNYC's Ramona Singer and that is really, really bad.

I thought it was weird that she kept saying it was hard to be away from her family especially when she left her baby to go to the Hamptons. But, I did love her scene when she was trying to back away from Julie who kept rambling about her encounters with the Wicked Caroline Stanbury. Otherwise, yeah. Didn't Marissa just give a hundred talking heads about her need to get out and booze it up and have a normal life?

I'm rooting for Adela too. There is something so soothing about her presence, and so honest about her misery.

Juliet has no filter ... because otherwise how could you say that to poor Adela's face?

OMG, Caroline Stanbury in action when she realized they gave Marissa the prettiest room with the best bathroom. That was such fast work she must do it all the time.

I was glad to see Sophie shut Julie down when she wanted to cry on her shoulder about Caroline Stanbury.  See, you really can keep yourself out of these little tiffs if you want to.

I hadn't thought of that.  Maybe she was just trying to make Stanbury look bad.  That still is rather rude since it had to involve the staff being made to sweat.

Yes, but I thought it was weird that they had made breakfast offsite and brought it to the kitchen there.  There's not a functioning kitchen there??  The caterers could have brought portable burners.  It would be one thing if there was a lovely breakfast buffet and Fleming was complaining about no eggs, or just more than 2 options, sausage and porridge.  Although, come ON, Fleming, I bet those sausages were pretty delicious (not as good as southern breakfast sausages, but pretty damn good).

Marissa- I am cutting her a break. It clearly looks like she is suffering from post-partum depression

Juliet- leave! (but your adorbs daughter can stay)

Julie- why is she still here?

I just can't stand Caroline S.  She wanted no rules.  But she was pretty quick to tell everyone where to sit at the table.  If there were no rules they should have been able to pick their own chair.

Except Stanbury probably doesn't give a toss. I do like, Fleming, though. And I really, really, really like her clothes.

Julie really was so annoying after Sophie finally laid down the line. And that's all Caroline wanted her to do, really. She probably doesn't have to defend her but don't feed the beast as she did with the comment that started this whole feud, repeating the mean thing CS had said. And Julie is totally delusional if she thinks Caroline envies her miserable existence. The snide remark about having to rent the Scotland castle. Seriously? Unlike Fleming, if your husband decided to give you the boot you'd have to rent, too.

Juliet is annoying as fuck and reacts to things as a child would.

I like Adela a lot, too, and she is very brave to share her story on international TV. That said, I get why Caroline was annoyed with her as well. It would be one thing if she said those things to her in private, but to do it in front of the whole group, which is made up of people she barely knows, is a bit much.

I like Marissa less than my faves, but don't dislike her. She is kind of shady, though.

A lot of people, including me, have given Marissa the side eye because she left Sade in the care of a nurse and went to the Hamptons for the weekend.  I now think that Marissa was encouraged to take a few days away because of the postnatal depression she was suffering from.  A change of scenery and a chance to sleep in and relax can help, although it is not a cure for postnatal depression.   I am no longer judging Marissa for going to the Hamptons.

But if she wants to sleep in and relax she has a baby nurse in London. Maybe if the baby was bouncing and healthy a few days to get away would be understandable, but the fact that the baby almost DIED is what triggers the side eye of both parents leaving the country without the baby.

Don't get me wrong, being the mother of three little ones is exhausting; being on the edge of a healthcare crisis for a number of months would challenge the strongest of psyches. Having your husband want to pull up stakes and move in the midst of all this would be almost too much to handle.

I think Marissa is also crying over the loss of the  status that she had in London. Remember, in the first season she talked a lot about how she had earned her place in London society, blah, blah, blah, and that was one of the things she used to say she had as an ex-pat that Juliet did not. Plus, she was all about getting her British citizenship and landing a spot on this show probably thrilled her as well. So I think she's upset and crying over the stress of everything, but I'm not necessarily diagnosing her with post-partum depression yet. Maybe pre post-London depression is more like it.

What I recall, and I think they even showed a brief clip on this episode, is Flemming saying to Marissa that it was wrong of people to gossip about Stanbury running away to Dubai for shady reasons, and Marissa said, "Yeah, I heard that, too."

I don't remember who told Flemming about it, but if Marissa "heard that too" about Stanbury running from the law or finances or whatever, then Marissa is confirming that she had spoken with someone about Stanbury - gossiping - though technically she only admits to "hearing" it and not to pulling up a chair and some popcorn and asking for more dirt, nor to dishing it out to the next person who visited her on bed rest.

Props to Julie for even going on the trip that was clearly planned to show Caroline showing her up.  Julie was right though, it's just a rented castle, her is real.  I could understand Julie's outrage at listening to Sophie complain endlessly about Caroline for months only to have her one day out of the blue completely start defending her again.  Sophie's ok with being treated like crap because her kids will get to see their cousins every once in a while.

Juliet is an obnoxious mess.  Does her sensitivity meter only work on Caroline?

Caroline F continues to be a hoot.  I also can't believe there wasn't a kitchen in the Castle.  No eggs?  The only options were fish or sausage?  Unbelievable!  Who planned that menu?  Aren't half of them vegan?

Caroline's picked at everyone this season save Juliet so it was clearly Marissa's turn.  But Marissa has literally been in a life and death situation for a year at that point and that tends to give perspective.  She's right not to care if Caroline moves.

Juliet remains the absolute worst.  I just can't with her.  Ever.

She is a consummate victim and never wrong.  I don't blame Marissa one bit for dropping her as a friend.

Anytime someone mentions something Juliet did wrong, suddenly you're wrong for suggesting that she might be wrong.

I fully believe Marissa when she says she really doesn't care about Caroline S. and why she is moving.  The only one who seems to give a shit is Juliet.

Her comments on suicide were just disgusting, and then she will sit around pouting like some victim.  Let anyone have said even something remotely that offensive to her.  Let someone call her out on her terrible behavior and she will lose her shit.  And then she acts shocked and dismayed when people don't like her.  Why would anyone like her?

I really wish someone would call Caroline S. out on her "rules" when she claimed there would be no rules at all.  I would simply refuse to show up for lunch or dinner, and when called out on it, I would remind her that this was supposed to be a weekend of no rules, and that rules remind me of my terrible childhood at an expensive boarding school, where I was routinely tortured with rules.

But Caroline S. is smart enough to have all these broads in her pocket.  She has neutralized Sophie, Marissa doesn't give a shit, Juliet is her lapdog, Caroline F. doesn't want to be bothered, and Juliet is too scared to face Caroline S. alone.  Out of all of the women, if anyone is going to give Caroline SS. shit, it'll be Caroline F.

Between Julie and Juliet, I'm not even sure which one I want gone first. Hopefully a double elimination? If I had to choose I'd keep Julie over Juliet - with the caveat that Julie can never ever again say "Mappleton". If she does, she loses and is replaced by Juliet's daughter - nicer, cuter, more fun, better sense of style, more relatable, etc. I honestly think that the only thing I like about Juliet is that she has an awesome daughter.

I might even go with "meh, she just doesn't know any better," but anytime she is called out for anything she does she immediately gets defensive and upset, and starts to finger point.  If she just didn't know any better I would think she would just apologize and keep it moving.

I do think its funny that she was upset with Sophie, because I think that has much more to do with Sophie possibly being closer to Caroline S. than Juliet is.

As movingtargetgal pointed out, she may have been urged to take a break.  I don't think it's just post partum depression (and I don't mean to minimize that  awful condition with the word "just"). I think she might actually have PTSD.  Seeing her own mother might have been something she needed.  And it looks like the baby nurse pretty much  has full charge of the baby, so going away for 72 hours is not that extreme.

Fleming entertains me.  She's spectacularly self-absorbed and transparent, but she also seems genuinely kind and gracious and easy going when it comes to whatever activity might be proposed. Caviar, cartwheels, fishing, fur shopping -- she's game for whatever's on offer, good natured and helping to make whatever it is a success.

The breakfast thing was nuts.  Okay, the whole "no kitchen on site" thing was weird, but you'd think it would all be explained up front.  "We will have toast and marmalade and tea and kedgeree and sausage available from 7-10, or if you want a fry up, there's a great one in the village at _____."  And presumably they DO do that for regular guests (or told the production company which thought it would be amusing to not pass it along). But if I arrive at a lovely estate and the "snacks" on offer include a wide array of treats including individual salad portions, yeah, I'm going to assume I can have an egg and some bacon when I roll out of my $5000/night bed.

I'm so sad to say, I'm over these women!  And my pathetic life revolves around these type shows (that I've got through Amazon prime), so I'll pretty much watch anything 'Housewife' or close.  But these women are all so irritating to watch that I cant get any fun from the show.  I see who's on and fast forward in spurts until that person is off, then end up fast forwarding through most of the show!  Caroline S. and her catfish face can leave NOW as far as I'm concerned.  No joy to this person at all.  And she can take Juliet (who needs a good hair brushing) and Marissa (who is two faced if ever I've seen two faced, a sneaky conniving person fake laughing with that huge close eyed silent laugh like 'it's just TOO funny!'  ICK.) I like Caroline L because she's interesting to watch to me, and Adela is growing on me.  Sophie's been much better this season to watch.  But Julie!  If you told her she couldn't utter the word 'Mapperton' again she would blow wide open.  Not fun to watch at all.  This season may be it for me :(

This is what I thought at first... but then I also thought that if there was ever a custody battle or something with Alex or the family, Caroline could possibly have some dirt on Sophie or use something against her. Sorry Julie, you have to move out of your room because the bathroom is too far and not private enough for me.  Oh wait CS, isn't all about your guests?

I would never suggest that Marissa is suffering from postpartum  depression.  She had a hard pregnancy.  She had a hysterectomy.  Her hormones are all over the place.  She's nursing.  The woman has been through and is going through a lot.  Would I have left my infant to go to the Hamptons for a family thing?  No.  Would I have left to go from London to Scotland for three days?  Maybe.  At the time when I had infants, I would be soooo grateful to get the time to have a full night's sleep and to get away from the responsibility of it all.

You may feel that it's selfish to commit suicide when your a parent but damn girl, you don't say it to that to the person when they're talking from the heart about it.  Not the time to go there.  Just shut up and listen.

I can't help but enjoy CF.  She's out there for sure but I find her very enjoyable.

Sorry CS but you come across as a wannabe.  If you really 'have' it then you don't need to prove it.  You're very insecure.  You proved nothing about your host's skills because you kicked someone out of their room.  You're full of BS. You want to prove something on this trip to Jules.  You're failing.

I went back and listened carefully to the conversation regarding the kitchen situation.  There was a kitchen.  The staff and the food were from offsite and they cooked the food in the kitchen at the castle.  Basically, a catering company was hired to do the meals and the caterers only brought the food that they needed, they did not fully stock the kitchen.

But that also shows that CS is more talk than actual hostess, it reminds me of that awful Bday party she  had for Juliet. If it was catered than why chose meals that no one was interested going to be interested! I loved Marissa when she arrived after all the nonsense and rattled off that she would have coffee, Kedgeree, and toast.

Maybe the castle just subs out the food when they have someone staying there instead of keeping people on staff and Caroline had nothing to do with it.

I find that completely unlikely given when I or friends of I have rented large homes. Two were even technically castles and the selection of food on the premises was always a thing that was part of it, perhaps I just paid attention because I loved food or she farmed it out to an assistant,, though not Luke because he didn't seemed enthused about the choices, or production but it was clearly designed for drama. As noted above kedgeree is typically has eggs in it.

I took the way the server explained it that yes there was a kitchen because it would not make sense if it didn't but that they had prepared the entire meal off site and at most reheated in in the kitchen.

Juliet strikes me as one of those people who do not believe depression is real. You know, the type who says "pick yourself up and stop being so sad." Her frame of reference is so self-centered that she cannot begin to relate to someone whose experiences are different than hers.

I think whoever invented the term Special Snowflake had Caroline F. in mind.
