I was really hoping that some muscle memory would kick in and that Quinn would at least get a few hits, or possibly disarm the guy before getting his ass kicked.

Anytime I hear political stuff on that show I wonder how much the writers are thinking of the Homeland world as just a mirror of ours or if they remember that it should be a completely different place when it comes to counter-terrorism. I mean this is a place where CIA HQ got blown up (possibly by a congressman turned terrorist, at least in the public's eyes), there was a suicide bomber in a DC park, terrorist hit squads going around shooting up hotels, a terrorist leader sneaking into the US and kidnapping a CIA agent and not to mention a major US embassy overrun by terrorists. The fact that the borders aren't already completely closed is amazing.
