The one thing I want is to find out Mrs. Beakley is something more than a housekeeper.  Please, please, please let her turn out to be a former MI-6 agent, and be more of Scrooge's Alfred.

It's funny, I was thinking that developing Scrooge's butler Duckworth and have him be an ex-special ops guy could be fun. But I think having Beakley being ex MI6 or SAS or something like that would be even better.

I was loving Ma Beagle, she was done perfectly. Even with the main 3 Beagle Boys. However, with the start of the Gizmo Duck story, I like how Gyro's notepad referred to all the "evil" robots from the original series and him using blatherskite phrase. I love the Ottomon with Flinthart, that was cracking me up.

I love how awkward Webby is given that she's been cooped up in Scrooge's mansion her whole life. I know the nephews weren't exactly accommodating but, at the same time, they did mention that she's weird because of her upbringing. I also love how she was role-playing during their dart war. Webby's a LARPer! And hard-core at that. "It's part of my character's backstory. Grizzled ex-Special Forces pulled out of retirement for revenge!" And given some of the hints dropped about Mrs. Beakley, Webby seems to get all of that honest.

"Only half of my inventions turned evil! The other half were wildly misunderstood!"

I loved the original series and I am loving the new series, too. I really like the changes they made. Donald kicking the crap out of one of the Beagle Boys was a particular delight.

Cooped up in the mansion and reading about Scrooge's past adventures by yourself would have interesting affects on anyone.

Loved that I finally after all these years got to see Donald unleash his temper on someone.

Also even though I watched tons of the original show as a kid, until I heard the newslady say it at the end of the first episode of this show I never knew the line from the song was "might solve a mystery". For some reason I always thought it was something like "lights on a mystery".

Loved these two new episodes. As said already, Ma Beagle was perfect, and while it's gonna take a while to get used to the new versions of Big Time, Bouncer, and Burger, I liked them, too.

And hearing Jim Rash's voice got me on board with this version of Gyro. The original series Gyro was naive, but well meaning. This version, however? No surprise that his inventions turn on him. I'm honestly shocked that they're setting up Gizmoduck this soon.

I'd die if they reveal that Beakly is/was an agent of SHUSH.

I need a screencap of Gyro's notepad, it was full of shoutouts. I noticed Armstrong, Robotica, and the Time Tub.

And I think it was the Time Tub that "(gained sentience)" -- which was interesting that it was the only labeled to have done so when the Vulture Crew specifically asked if Lil Bulb would gain sentience and turn evil the way all the others did.

It makes me wonder what Gyro considers 'gaining sentience' to be honest. Pulling at that thread might get a little terrifying.

I do wonder about planting the Gizmoduck seeds this soon but the first season of Ducktales was 65 episodes and I just know that's not something remotely doable in the current atmosphere. So I expect they'll want to get to those things much quicker than the first time around. And, really, I can't wait to meet Fenton in this new incarnation.

Lin-Manuel Miranda will be playing Gizmo-Duck. It is never too early for Lin-Manuel Miranda to dork out and play a role he loves.  (Although I want outtakes from his recording, people)

Ducktales was my favorite show growing up and so I was suspicious.

I do miss the rich art work, and the more slow-burn story-telling, but I love the rest of it.

I like the great nephews having their own personalities. It never bothered me as a kid, but it's a good improvement.

David Tennett's Scrooge is brilliant, and a gem. I didn't mind the 3/4 crisis teaming up with the kids coming in, sometimes, it works out that way and I wonder how long it's been going on. Scrooge may have been feeling it for years, ever since Della disappeared.

And I don't even mind he's less "it's too dangerous." I think he's smarter than the smarties and knows the kids will do it anyway, why waste his breath?

I was seriously hoping that Webby's new friend was Gosalyn, but the actual twist with Lena was even better. I'm hyped.

I loved that this week's episode was essentially The Warriors with the Beagle Boys, right down to the guy with the bottles on his fingers. I also liked that each Beagle Boy group had their own Bouncer, Big Time and Burger.

I like that they were able to bring back the terra-firmens back in a believable way. Keep their classic looks, but update them so they weren't just a bunch of rolling balls that play games every year and cause earthquakes as a result. These last two episodes have been real nice character development for all the supporting cast members and the Beagle Boys. But I'm very happy that Uncle Scrooge will take more center stage in the next few episodes. I did however had a problem with Huey being so skeptic. In the premiere episode he gets attacked by pirate ghosts, headless statues, has a dragon that eats money appear. Then gets turn back into a statue by a Medusa gauntlet. Then you add in going to Atlantis, seeing mini robots, which I don't think that was in the Junior Woodchucks guidebook. It was like on X-Files how even the most hardcore fans said how long could Scully be that skeptic for so long after all the crap she went through in the first two seasons until magically in season 5 she stopped. I really like how they are playing Lena's character with Magica in the backdrop and even more with Launchpad being Launchpad. He is really floating perfectly between his original Ducktales version and Darkwing Duck version. Kudos to both the writers and actor on that work. Same goes with really getting Webby fleshed out more. I just couldn't stop laughing at Louie eating the popcorn and then later how it annoyed everyone.

Sad that I had to miss this week's episode, but I have an excuse: I was at New York Comic Con this weekend. While there, I got a big scoop:

Spoiler

Darkwing Duck is showing up in an episode airing in January. In a Gizmoduck episode.

Spoilers because that was passed along to me by a Disney artist, and I don't know how many people actually know it.

EDIT: Catherine Tate (Donna From Doctor Who) is confirmed as the voice of Magica. I'm looking forward to seeing The Tenth Doctor as Scrooge fighting one of his companions.

I have to say that Donald was a great foil for Gladstone and the story really did throw me. Wasn't expecting it, but it was well written and played. Though I wanted to know what Launchpad's adventure was. Great joke at the end with the Golden Cricket.

I've always loved the "Duck to the Future" episode. I'm fuzzy on the details but I seem to remember Magica dressed as a fortune teller and somehow sent Scrooge into the future where she and the boys had taken over his business and nobody believed he was Scrooge because he "disappeared" however many years ago. I don't know why this episode stuck with me for so long...probably because I love future time travel stories.

Other ones I always think of are the one where they do sort of a re-telling of the Hindenburg ( I remember a bunch of bees flying into Ms. Beakley's hair/hat), and the one where there was some magical harp that could determine when someone was lying (uh-uh-uh, you are lying lying LYYYIINNNGGG!)

This show was my after-school best-friend. I'd get off the bus and watch it at my elderly neighbor's house until my dad came to pick me up. I'm 40 now, but  I'd love to go back and re-watch the entire original run of episodes to refresh myself on the stories and characters since it seems like the re-boot (which i'm loving so far) will make reference to just about everything from the original. I hope they bring Doofus back.

Really loved this episode, and it really solidified my thought that casting Paul F. Tompkins as Gladstone was perfect. He's such a lovable dick, the perfect character to love to hate.

A casino was the best place to introduce Gladstone. A normal casino would've kicked him out ages ago, but one that trapped him to feed on his luck was pretty genius. At first I was wondering what Gladstone's angle with Donald was. Wanting Donald's bad luck to break his curse was something that was simply him: Having a heart of gold to call his family for help, selfish enough to just use Donald to break his curse, but he just couldn't help flaunting his luck in Donald's face at the same time. Even

I did like how casinos don't appeal to Scrooge at all. He worked for his money, he couldn't stand anything that would let people win a fortune without effort (especially a casino that would bend over backwards to convince the richest duck in the world to spend some dough).

Really enjoyed the Terra-Firmian episode, too. Was not expecting them to only show up at the end, in the classic style, to boot. Both of these episodes played with my expectations, the real focus of the episode didn't appear until near the end of the story. I expected the Terra-Firmians to show up early, and they go on an adventure. Then the plot veered towards a "do they/don't they exist" mystery, and the main plot was about Webby and Huey's skepticism vs idealism and Lena trying to earn Beakley's trust. Also liked how Webby brought up the Terries and the Firmies, even though we only saw one of them (I forget which was which). And in this week's episode, the entire point was the casino plot, only getting to the Golden Cricket at the end (and I agree, it was a great payoff).

I'm loving the show so far. Though, I haven't watched the latest episode yet, but I will be sure to soon. I look forward to what's in store for Lena in the future, because she really doesn't seem all bad. If anything, I could see her turning against Magica later on.

I do love how they are introducing the larger Duck Universe as the series goes on. With the new Mark Beaks coming up, which is Ducktales answer to Mark Zedaburger and apparently Fenton just around the corner. I'm looking forward to where this is all going and probably seeing more of the mom mystery and hopefully see Duckworth soon.

Since we've had references to Cape Suzette, Spoonerville, and Saint Canard, leading us to believe that TaleSpin, Goof Troop, and Darkwing Duck are all part of the larger DuckTales Cinematic Universe, does that mean the Rescue Rangers are out there somewhere?

The slot machine falling on Donald was legitimately, laugh-out-loud funny.

Scrooge's reaction to the cricket at the end was pretty damn funny too.

I love this show too and I really liked this past week's episode.  I'd love to get an episode on Launchpad's adventure.

BD Wong played the voice of the villain.

I am loving this show. "House of the Lucky Gander" was a great Donald showcase but also had great moments for pretty much everyone. Dewey and the Tiger, Huey and the water show, Louie's growing disillusionment with Uncle Gladstone, Scrooge's irritation, Webby and the chocolate fountain, and Launchpad apparently having an off-screen epic adventure. So much to love.

It's highly doubtful that the Rescue Rangers exist in the same universe, seeing as though some of the adversaries of the Rescue Rangers are human, like Professor Nimnul.

That, however, did not stop the small digest book called Disney Adventures from concocting a huge ultra mega crossover event called "The Legend of The Chaos God", which told a mega ultra story that involved the characters from Talespin, Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop,  Ducktales and Darkwing Duck.  (what, no Gargoyles??)

The Mark Beaks episode was one of my favorites so far. It was fun to see Flintheart and Scrooge scheming together against a new rival (even if Flintheart's plan to kill Mark was all a trap to kill Scrooge, too), it was refreshing to see a rival between both of them, something that OG Ducktales didn't really get in to. On that note, I'm hoping the show brings in Rockerduck, too.

Mark was fun, and I really enjoyed the twist with his hostage plot. He acted like he was never in danger because he knew he wasn't. Mark being a millennial tech mogul compared to two old misers is a really good contrast for this show. He's even voiced by Big Head from Silicon Valley and the character is essentially Big Head with confidence. Like Flintheart, he's obsessed with his image, but unlike trying to one-up Scrooge, he's concerned about his online presence. But unlike Flintheart & Scrooge, just about everything about his company is phony, while the other two actually put in the work to get their fortunes, square or not. I'm looking forward to him showing up again.

It was funny (and kinda disturbing) when Huey went all Frank Grimes when Dewey became VP of Being Chill over his internship. This might not be the last time this'll happen, either. I can count on it.

Flintheart's beard is fake, because of course it is.

Really enjoyed the episode, I love the twist with Beaks and how all his money is based on image and hype and not breaking edge or anything. I cracked up at the end with Flintheart taking off his mustache and putting back on his beard. Same with Scrooge's line at the end: "I'll out do both of you by doing what I do best, working hard and adventures."

That was by far the funniest episode we've had.  They need to not overdo it with Glomgold.  Not that he's too much to take in small doses, but he's by far the funniest villain the show has.

All hail Launchpad. The master of Burritos. What a fantastic episode, even with Louie and the Pharaoh. "I'll do whatever you want to do!" (pause) "DIE!" I do love that this Scrooge is still cheap, but after having the burrito, he came around. I'm ready for Fenton!

Agreed, loved this week's episode. Hell, this one finally featured the classic dynamic of Scrooge, Launchpad, and the kids on a globetrotting adventure.

"This is the stupidest revolution I've ever been a part of." I love Scrooge so much, and yeah, loved his reaction to his first burrito, it was like trying a fine wine to him. Actually offering to pay for everyone seemed so unlike Scrooge, but his reaction to the bill was classic him.

This show has to be aimed more at parents than kids, right?  Jokes (*funny* jokes) about Chipotle and "Thriller" have to fly right over kids' heads.

I'm absolutely watching this show on my own without my kids!

Thanks! I hope Jim Cummmings is voicing him again....

It's all but confirmed, I'm sure.

Today's episode was great. Love how of course Louie "nopes" out of climbing Mount Neverest almost immediately.

I was expecting George Mallardy to still be alive. This IS Ducktales after all, and the original series had Confederate veterans who were still alive somehow in the 1980s. Was not expecting the Murderhorn episode of the Simpsons to be played out. Or that the mountain screwed with wormholes.

Launchpad's plot was hilarious.

Scrooge being so dismissive of Mallardy's remains was darkly funny.

Fantastic episode and I liked learning more about Scrooge's background and what made him tick.  No one has used the word ninny in a century was also a funny thing to say.

I tried giving this show a chance. It's fun that the old Ducktales characters are back, but I find the new show lacking a heart and I just can't get used to the new style (the backgrounds are beautiful but the ducks are so rough-looking.)

The only real improvement is that Webby is no longer a fourth nephew wannabe. Launchpad is okay, but has become way too stupid in some episodes. The stories themselves take  too long to get to the point. Sure, the show is amusing at times, but I miss the warmth of the original. I do like Donald as an overprotective parent, but that's it.

Hoping for a better reboot in the future.

Ah, great to have the show back. Just wish they had announced that the show was switching to Disney Channel full time. The mystery of Della deepens, so the "Spear of Selene" is a treasure, not an item from the greek gods. I was cracking up at Storkaleese and how Scourge, Donald and Della made Zeus's life so bad because he got out shined.

I liked them having all Greek-American actors doing the voices of the gods.  Michael Chiklis as Zeus, Chris Diamantopolous as Storkules, and Nia Vardolos as Selene.
