Thanks! There must be a lot more in that film footage to actually shut down the entire show. That is a whole lot of hours to fill in the summer time slots.

Eh. I wouldn't assume that either. Right now we have rumors and allegations.

It could simply be that shutting down seems like the wisest course when faced with a possible lawsuit. You want to control the environment while you look into it. And I'm sure the parent company's lawyers will consider all avenues from dismissal to settling to litigating and go for the cheapest, best for the company. Especially if they think the court may have a few questions for the people supplying copious amounts of alcohol or that it may be bad PR. If the show is still filming and then airing, it will be harder to get people to forget about any alleged incidents.

So all I would get out of the show ending for now is that they aren't stupid and are covering their butts.

The rest... I'm not going to rush to believe anyone. It could be horrible or nothing, but I don't know.

I'm thinking maybe everybody (Corinne, DeMario and the show) might be the victim of Shelby the Producer.

That's my impression. This producer wasn't so horrified by what was happening that she stopped it at the time. Call the fucking police if you think she's being sexually assaulted!  She just started all of this up after the fact. And I'm sorry, but she could have stopped it. I don't see the camera guys physically holding her back from stopping a girl from being raped if that is what was happening. I know we like to think of "production" as heartless monsters, but they are made up of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, people, just normal people doing a job. That only Corinne's "handler" would find it wrong, if the story of DeMario taking a limp woman out of a pool and going down on her passed out body, is just not feasible to me. I know about group mentality, but all the onlookers, camera, lighting, sound, producers, were stone sober and clear thinking.

I think that story about him taking advantage of an unconscious Corinne is grossly inaccurate. More likely they were both drunk, got it on, then Shelby the Producer started planting a seed in Corinne's head. Corinne, probably realized that her boyfriend was going to find out about this and took what Shelby handed her and went with it.

This whole mess is shady as fuck.

I personally would not believe the latest account unless they have video evidence of DeMario doing such a thing. If he indeed did it then, yes, he deserves whatever it is coming his way but innocent until proven guilty for me. Like someone said, this didn't happen in a secluded area of a college party, but on a television show set where camera and sound people are everywhere. It would be extremely easy to proof if that's what happened. And this latest account does not match up with any of the initial reports. I guess we can just wait and see if the truth comes out but I'm not ready to paint DeMario in that light yet.

It was being filmed!!! The show Unreal, we see the handlers push and push them. More TV time, its my belief that's what happened with drunk Corinne, and DeMario was just one of the guys. Im just glad BIP is done, I always feel like taking a shower when I have watched..

The newest info sounds more in line from what we first heard.  That Corrine was the aggressor and while she was drunk she wasn't black out drunk (although this time also making out with guys after the fact) and it was the producer that caused all the drama because (her friend Corrine) had just filmed soft core porn.

Regardless, this was a reality TV set and I'm sure there were cameras everywhere and everything was documented for the cameras.  Everything will come out.

Bachelor in Paradise Producer Filed Complaint About Alleged Misconduct Without Witnessing the Incident!

Those allegations were made by a producer who filed a complaint questioning whether contestant Corinne Olympios was able to give consent for a sexual encounter with DeMario Jackson, but sources tell E! News that the producer was not present when the encounter occurred, has not viewed footage of the encounter, and only heard about it second or third hand.

There is something very off with this whole debacle. The best part, BIP is over! No big loss!

I honestly couldn't care less about BIP being over. I was already bored last year and the only saving grace was Nick and Josh butting heads. This year's cast had literally no one I was interested in seeing and most of them I find highly unlikeable, so I find it satisfying that their 15 minutes was cut short. I can just picture the meltdowns happening all over the country right now. Raven and some others already showed their "devastation" on SM. Good riddance, desperados!

I don't know why Clare's picture was at the top of that article but it was nice to see her.  Perhaps she could go back and ask her Raccoon therapist for his version of what happened.

Maybe you can answer this? Why would RS takeout  Corinnes' name after posting her name to begin with? Also leave Demario's name in the entire time?

Reality Steve has Corrine's name everywhere in his column.  He's not hiding her identity in any way.

And could you please cite your source for this?

New details from a crew member...

"There was hugging and kissing and touching, but before long, she seemed to go limp and was sliding under water. Demario kept trying to hold her up and at the same time he appeared to be having intercourse with her. After he finished — which only lasted a few seconds — he lifted her out of the water and laid her on the cement, where he proceeded to have oral sex with her. She appeared to be unconscious. At that point some of the crew came out and carried her off to her room. She was limp and seemed unable to walk on her own."

He did at one time delete her completely from his site. And mention that he did just that. I quoted the source below that post. If I remember right,  it was New York Magazine and Daily Mail

I agree. I know this show is crap, but as a "wrong reasons" watcher I am in it for the snark material and they give me plenty. It seems like the editors are in on the joke because they usually make the worst people look like idiots (Josh and his loud orgasmic pizza chewing).

I'm pretty sure she had that boyfriend during Nick's season as well.

I wouldn't doubt this one bit. The fact that Demario's story blew any pretense the show had about being legit and real, confirms to me, and no doubt many others, my suspension last year that Corrine was a p!ant. Otherwise why would Nick have kept her on so long. I never believed he had any serious intentions toward her. On the whipped cream scene he was supposed to be shocked at what she was up to but when she told him to get the whipped cream he knew exactly where it was at. Which was behind him at at a angle that he would not have saw when he came out and he had to stretch way behind his back to get. Which tells me they knew beforehand the story production wanted them to play. So for me it's not a far stretch to believe she had a boyfriend beforehand.

As regards to who said or did what and who's to blame is only speculation until more is known. One thing's for certain though. This is one giant screwed up mess that I hope doesn't bring the whole franchise down.

I read that Jorge had quit working at resort and moved ...probably to a nicer place

Based on RS's report, nothing happened. They were both lucid, knew what they were doing and she wasn't falling down black out drunk.

Quote

So the part where she claims she tried to stop whatever was going on and the higher-ups wouldn't let her is BS? She sounds like a shit stirrer.

If RS is right and she's Corinne's best friend I am not surprised considering who her bff is,

Last season's goofball Daniel comments on the scandal.  He is both surprisingly goodlooking in the accompanying photo and surprisingly thoughtful:

Regarding how bad this would affect the franchise I happened to remember that just recently we had the Chris Soules arrest. Although it wasn't directly related to the show he was a contestant, as a lead no less, which had to have gave the show somewhat of a black eye. Now this. Sounds like maybe some bad karma coming back on them for all the plying and encouraging of booze on everyone and their less than factual edits to induce drama. Ironically now where is all the drama focused? Like another poster said it's finally starting to come back and bit them in the ass.

Daniel was amusing, but that interview is absolutely by a man who desperately wants to stay in good graces with Bachelor Nation and the showrunners.  Not a single word about the production crew that could be taken negatively, just gentle admonishment for the cast members that behaved a bit "inappropriately".

He knows how to play the game and definitely wants to stay off their shit list.

Good boy, Daniel.  Your invite to Carly & Evan's wedding is in the mail.

I'd give that wedding a miss, how boring. I didn't like the way Carly treated Evan, I think she just wants to get married.

I read "Reality Steve's" account.  I think the thing to remember with him is that at this point he has just as much of a vested interest in this franchise remaining viable as do Fleiss and Harrison.

The Daily Mail article is curious because some of the things the say appear to be plainly factually wrong.  There con't have been any "depositions" by lawyers yet.  And Los Angeles detectives would have no jurisdiction in Mexico.  Those mistakes may be attributable to the Mail being a British paper and thus misusing those terms.  But the witness statements about the pool incident are pretty detailed.

Ultimately this isn't a "he said/she said".  There's a tape.  Unfortunately, we're never going to know what that tape actually shows.

Meanwhile, if anyone is looking for reasons to be optimistic about this show's ultimate return (in some incarnation), rest assured in the fact that Fleiss is not above paying for someone's silence, and I doubt that any of the folks involved are above taking a payoff to keep their mouths shut.

One also has to remember that I'm sure he's getting his information from people who need the franchise to remain viable.

True. But he's also probably getting his information from people who were actually there and witnessed the events firsthand. I would bet his sources are most likely the contestants, not TPTB. E Online has a recent article which states that the producer who filed the complaint didn't witness the event nor viewed the tape of the event either. They just filed their complaint based on what they had heard.

Also, Reality Steve has a new column up today with some additional information. Apparently, another producer also filed a complaint, and they both wish they could take it back now. Something along the lines that they didn't think it would go this far. Also, RS said that Corinne's publicist has resigned.

Oh Jesus, I really hope this encounter is not what actually happened because if it is that is fucking horrible.

Also I have to say it just really made me angry to see so many comments on FB like oh well, not my problem she/he shouldn't have gotten so out of control.   Well that's true they are adults but what about common human decency??  When a person is intoxicated beyond a reasonable point what is wrong with being a decent human and trying to step in and help??  Yes, they should have stayed in control of themselves and not gotten so obliterated but they DID, the behavior already happened, so doing nothing especially if a person can't even stand on their own is pretty shitty to me.  I don't like to get involved in other people's business EVER, but if it was a circumstance where someone was in danger or putting someone else in danger, I would feel obligated to at least TRY and do something.  I don't know.  No one's perfect.

My theory (having read everything) is that Shelby the producer and her bff Corinne concocted this "story" the next day so that Corinne's boyfriend wouldn't be too mad at how far Corinne went with Demario the night before, never thinking it would blow up like this (bc they're not the brightest bulbs).

Yeah, that's who I was referring to.  These people need this show to remain viable so they can extend their 15 min.

Like HOW can TPTB allow drunk people to get into a swimming pool!  That one just perplexes me.

@sistersledge, your theory wouldn't shock me at all.

Now they are saying it was TWO female producers who filed complaints.

I think this is the angle that RS is pushing.  Funny how he complains that people are jumping to conclusions when he is clearly making characterizations of other people's characterizations of what yet other people said, did, or even thought!

I could see this crew-member (now apparently two crew members) being "chicken-littles-the sky-is-falling".

I could also see them being the only two brave or smart enough to speak up (albeit later than they should have).

But I don't think anyone who hasn't personally viewed the footage, or been close enough to the pool in person, can say for sure.

Corinne released the following statement to TMZ: “I am victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4. Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production. As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality. As I pursue the details and facts surrounding that night and the immediate days after, I have retained a group of professionals to ensure that what happened on June 4 comes to light and I can continue my life, including hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.”

ETA: I read the TMZ article and scanned the comments.  All I can say is, I'm glad we have the people we have here on this board, some of those comments on TMZ are insane.

So she's suing the show for her being black out drunk? The producer according to RS is her best friend, so the producer isn't impartial.

Can Nick sue Corrine for sexual harassment/assault when she threw off her bikini top and grabbed his hands and put them on her breasts?  Or when she put whip cream on her breasts and showed them to Nick to lick?  Or when she straddled him in the bouncy house humping on him?
