Given exactly how it's come about, I'd say it's not borderline abusive. It's full-on, full-out, completely abusive. She's been an abused child her whole life and now she's an abused young adult. Just because the abuse is now wholly emotional, intellectual and psychological rather than physical too, in no way makes it less abusive, seems to me. She's been brainwashed, she continually psychologically intimidated into staying and doing what she does, and she's being cruelly used and deprived of money that she's earned. That's abuse. Period.

Jana, call TLC and ask them to provide a nanny spot with a progressive family for your own show. Make $$$ and leave the mess at home. Joy is ready she said it on tv.

I think what happened in CA is Jill became pregnant and she and the baby potentially have the Zika virus. It's not funny and I'm not trying to be. I think she is terrified and just wanted to get HOME.

Yes I think it was more like a miscarriage...because if it was sexual violence or something they would not be talking about going back....whether they actually had plans to go back or not

Jill made that comment a few epidodes back about "people coming in the house, just opening the door and walking in"  The last episode where Derick was shaving on the patio deck area, there was key in the front door lock...indicating that the certainly lock up!

Might've had a break in or some unstable person situation. Violence. They would keep that quiet because SOS would not want that to get out at all.  They make money on their "safe yet very dangerous missions" that people can serve so they feel good about themselves.

I hate to say this but I think the miscarriage would be story line.  That could be a ratings draw.

I'm betting on some type of violence in CA.

If I'm not mistaken, 10 months was their total amount of time in CA. This includes the three trips they made back to the States, along with the four trips (that we know of) where family came down to visit. The only people who hadn't seen Jill and Derick were the Littles.

No, their last stay was from October thru August. Remember, they were down there for a couple of months, flew back in August with Joy and Carlin Bates for a couple of weeks, then back to AR thru October. That was just the last sequence; they first went down in July when Izzy (I refuse to use Choo Choo) was 3 months old.

I had to LOL during the airport scene when Jill was lugging around 6-year old Josie.  I find that extremely odd.  Josie hasn't seen Jill in nearly a year, and yet she climbs right on up and has Jill carry her around the airport?  That child is too big to be carried, does she just not like to walk?

Then she better get going with that prenatal care.

Oh, forgot to mention to the poster who read that the wedding date isn't set. Flat out lie. They know; they just aren't telling to keep the paps away. They also wouldn't go on to say the wedding would be next season if they weren't already filming it. I don't buy that article any more than the KJB blind item about knocking up a young girl so he could get #20.

She didn't buy a building. A building got bought by Jizm Bob in her name. For some kind of tax purpose, probably.

But if it's in her name legally, then she could sell it (in a fictional universe) and pocket that money for a new life for herself, right?

Well, stupid control freaks tend to be very good at knowing (unconsciously, but still ...) exactly what weaknesses their victims have. So I'm sure JB wouldn't ever put a building in the name of a kid he had any suspicion would do that! I don't think it's a good sign for Jana that buildings can be bought in her name!

Prove me and Jizm Bob wrong and take the money and run, Jana.

I don't even care how much Jill annoys me, her relationship with her buddies will always melt my heart.  Jenny and James were not about holding any stupid signs.  They were both positioned and ready to run as soon as they saw her.  I also appreciate that Jill and Derick let her buddies ride home from the airport with them.  She's the best of the buddy system.

Jill's buddies seem to love her to pieces.  As soon as she appeared at the top of the escalator, James bolted to her.  Sadly, she appears to have a closer and warmer bond with her buddies than she does with her own son.

I wish Jenny and James could just move into the Pool House. It's not like Boob and Michelle would notice or care that they were gone.

I laughed when Jill said that Spurgeon looks just like Jessa.  That kid, although he is beyond adorable, is the spittin' image of JB.

Miss Josie was pissed about something when she got out of the van at the BIG! ANNOUNCEMENT!  She had her arms folded angrily and had a very perturbed look on her face.

Joy spouted off the names of those lucky contestants who might be the next in the family to court.  Jana screwed up her face at the mention of her own name and looked like,"Thank you, no, I'll pass."  She may want to get married and get the hell out of there but she doesn't want to do it in circus fashion.

I enjoyed the grocery store trip.  I thought they were going to both need a cigarette after Derick said,"Let's get steak!"  They really do seem to enjoy each other's company.

I did notice that Jill mentioned that Izzy was still nursing on the plane ride home. He was about 15 months old here and I wonder if maybe this is the reason she hasn't yet gotten pregnant yet. I also wonder if she continued nursing because the water supply in CA isn't as clean as it is in the USA and they aren't able to get fresh milk on a regular basis.

eta: Jessa was 14 weeks and hadn't gotten an ultrasound yet???? Nice prenatal care there, girlfriend. It also pretty much confirms that she had minimal care when pregnant with Spurge. I forsee another homebirth with Miss Teresa and Mechelle running the show. Lord help them.

One can only imagine the dazzling intellect involved in all conversations with Bin.

So Jessa Blessa thinks she's going to have an uncomplicated home birth after almost bleeding out last time? Good luck with that.

I hope the special guest for next week's episode is an English teacher with a lot of patience to teach the Duggar clan proper English. If I hear another Duggar say special one more time, I will go screaming into the night. I gritted my teeth when Derick the college graduate use the word got wrong (when we got home.) I would make them each write five hundred times "I will learn another word besides neat, special and awesome!" Do they realize they all sound like a preteen girl describing a preteen boy they like. Oops...I forgot who I was talking about.

I totally got Derick & Jill in the grocery store, I feel that way about my bed after being away for only a week.

I took the JB & M exchange differently and thought it was a kind of funny FU moment. Last time Michelle almost fell off her chair when Ben & Jessa held hands and now Michelle is shrugging off how touchy feely Jing & Jer are. At least they mentioned the difference.

Jessa & Ben with 2 kids ... Ben is going to have to drop out of school, quit the toilet business, and like other posters said, Hannie will have to move in and share a bedroom with Spurge & baby Salome-Mary Ella.

IMO, Jana has someone non-Duggar approved.  There are rumors to that effect.  I posted something regarding that a few days ago in the Jana thread if anyone is interested.

FU Internet moment:  looks like Mechelle got a new bra.  The girls were kinda up and appeared smaller while still contained in the green maternity top.  Or she had breast reduction, to help with that pesky missing back muscle.

Though probably in the minority, I think Jana has some talent when it comes to interior decorating.  There were touches here and there in the house that I really liked.  And I preferred her wall hangings to the ones Jessa wanted to put up.  How great it would be if she could strike out on her own...and how totally unlikely!

Not in Latin America, though, generally. They tend to go with "el carro."

Both are old words for horse-drawn vehicles in Spanish, and they got transferred over to automobiles.

Has Jessa always had such a fake, hollow laugh?

Jim Bob, stuffing his face....DH said he looks like he's pregnant.

Derick -- get rid of the slicked back hair and man bun. It is not attractive on you.

Jana...she looks old and tired. I feel badly for her.  I just notice a shift in her attitude. Her countenance looks like she's turning into a cranky older woman.

I swear I've heard Joy and Jessa calling Hannie "Hansel".

They did. I think weird nicknames often evolve in families. I have a cousin named Jackie, and for some reason we call her Jackson. Don't know where it came from or how it started, but it's stuck for about fifteen years now, lol.

Now that I've finally seen it, I am sooooo horrified that Derrick insists on them staying in CA! Could Jill possibly drop any more hints that she hates it there and feels unsafe? She reminds me of the college roommate who's constantly saying things like, "oh, I failed my test today. Because I was up all night. Since you were drinking. And expected me to babysit you. And came in at 3:00 throwing up. And threw up on my study guide." Why in the world can't he give up this pipe dream, at least for a while? He has to be willfully ignoring her misery, because how could he possibly miss it?

Yeah, weren't they supposed to focus on COMMUNICATION in those months leading up to the wedding? Derick is completely missing what is obvious to everyone around him although no Duggar or Cathy will admit the truth of the matter to his face. These people seem to work AROUND one another, complete with bible verses, rather than communicate something directly. Who knows? Jill may be clinically depressed - all the signs are there - but this family will dismiss her very real feelings as not praying hard enough. Like Priscilla Waller, she's aging in dog years, and she only has one kid.

Repeat the following ... over and over again:. Having two kids is a lot more work than one ( and I didn't know this even though I spent my growing up years babysitting a dozen younger siblings)....Central America is really dangerous and you can't drink the water , eat the food or go out after dark ( and even though we were born and raised our entire lives in the U.S. , we are amazed at the variety of food available in the grocery store that we went to on our first date in 10 months )....I didn't expect to get pregnant so soon ...( even though we are at it like bunnies, don't believe in birth control, and are in our most fertile years)...We're having a baby, and it might be a girl ... or a boy ... or maybe twins ( and we're going to subject our viewers to an entire show about the big reveal)...Jinger is engaged now , and will have to plan a wedding ASAP , and she's moving far away , and then she'll probably get pregnant .   And even though Jill didn't learn any Spanish  in the entire 10 months , her 1 year old baby can't speak English so the babysitters will need a translator. These people are beyond belief ! Also , aren't some of Michelle's kids younger than some of her grandkids ? She's still a mom of young children , but she seems to have moved directly into the grandma role. When she was helping the kids to make homecoming posters she looked and acted like a senile old granny. What the hell is she going to do when all the older girls are married and gone ? Hire a nanny ? And while I think Jana did a nice job organizing the redecorating of the "guest house" , that doesn't really qualify her for a career in interior design . Maybe designing homes for hillbillies, but that's about it . Painting , putting up family pictures and hanging wood from grandma's fence does not an interior designer make . These people are so ignorant that they think any hobby they have can lead to a career without the benefit of higher education , internships, etc.

That's not uncommon. A dating ultrasound is done early if you don't know when you conceived, but if Jess's was tracking it wouldn't be necessary. The scan often done at 11-14 weeks is often done as a blood test now. A lot of insurances only cover the 20 week ultrasound unless the doctor can prove it is medically necessary. Also, there have been studies indicating repeat ultrasounds should only be done if medically indicated.

Exactly!!!! It seems like they are both trying to out-passive-aggressive each other. Derick jokes around about it constantly (dangers, discomforts, isolation), as if he doesn't notice Jill has real issues with everything he CONSTANTLY jokes about. It's almost like a control technique...if they talk about these issues nonstop, it goets more and more uncomfortable for Jill to ever bring up a serious discussion about it. If she said, "hey, I seriously feel unsafe, and wish maybe we could move home at least until Izzy is older," Derick could gaslight her and make her feel crazy, because technically she's joked about it day in and day out...therefore making her "fine" with it via the status quo. Why should she suddenly develop concerns when they constantly make light of it? It's almost like derick's trying to make it the opposite of the elephant in the room.

I also wonder if part of this fascination with mission work is that Derick wants to limit his family size, and feels the threat of Zika is a foolproof plan. They can keep Izzy breastfeeding indefinitely because of concerns about water, giving them a good method of birth control, and a good reason. He would be off the breast milk in a hot minute if they moved back to Arkansas. If Jill is desperate to move back home and have a new baby, she becomes more and more forlorn, and Derick can claim all of this is for her own good. As much as Jill annoys me, I feel really sorry for her because she is obviously miserable, and the person she loves is obviously not taking her needs into consideration.

What i don't get is why Derick isn't a better headship. If he were, he could say, "God DEMANDS that we stay here, even though you think it's scary and you want another child...and running water. You'll just have to pray for some contentment, honey." Although that would be a huge dick move, it would almost be more respectable (in their opinion) than this namby-pamby equivocating.

Jessa also said that she hadn't heard the heartbeat yet. THAT is off. Jilly Muffin knew what the day was about; she should have brought her doppler.

eta: Jill being told that she had to work on her contentment would be the ultimate irony. #JingersRevenge
