I don't have a problem with Tasha leaving her daughter behind for training camp. I'm sure they occasionally came and visited her. Her daughter was in her snapchats quite a bit during the summer so I assume they were in Dallas a lot.

I don't either.  No reason to uproot a child from home and friends and your husband's job for the summer when you don't even know if you are making the team.  I was suprised more women would not be supportive of any woman pursuing her dreams.  I don't think being a mom means you have to put your dreams on hold... And DCC is something you age out of... There is a small window.  WIth so many vets gone, this was the year to make it.  I am a stay-at-home mom and I am in college pursuing my masters right now.  Does that mean I am studying some days we could be out at a park or museum... Absolutely.  Does it also mean they see hard work and example of study they can apply to their own study habits and school?  Absolutely.  I am not a huge fan of Tasha's but I would support any woman who wanted to strive for something challenging and fufilling.  That can be an example to her daughter as well.

For me, these cuts were especially tough because Amy & Kyndall were just yanked out of the rehearsal without even a chance to wave goodbye. The other cuts at least got hugs in the parking lot. Makes me wonder how many of the girls actually realized they were gone when the team announcement was made.

I was thinking the same thing while watching last night.

Wish Amy and Kyndall had made it.  But I LOVED Khalen's reaction and her giggling at the end.  I always love their reactions.  I love Kelsey and am so glad she made it.  I hope she just gets better and better.  She seems like so much fun!  Real down to earth.

I do wish we'd see more if the vets though.  I love Holly and Robin (and some of the other vets as well).

Her daughter will age out of childhood, but there is no DCC age limit. Leaving a whole state to shake some poms AFTER she's already been in two different pro teams for years is just selfish and flaky to me.

Those pro teams don't have a TV show though ;).

I agree. It seemed odd to do cuts right away the beginning. Usually they would have one scene of them dancing (with the boots on) and then the cuts. You could see Kelli was upset about cutting Amy. Will Kyndall come back next year? She said on first episode it would be her last time auditioning. I hope Amy stays with NBA type dancing. I wish they would have shown Selina unless she didn't want to be featured. She must have gotten better after one season dancing with the MMDDs.

Two things missing this season: Not showing the girls getting their boots and taking of the squad photo.  I liked those and this is the first time they did not show either.

Did Yuko dance or not? She was in the uniform with Simone (who was injured) sitting on the bench at F& F show. Did her visa not allow it? Near the end it looked like she might have danced at the first game.

This episode seemed too rushed by trying to cover a lot of ground.

I think they said she was still working out Visa issues so she wasn't dancing

They sure bent over backwards for her.

Are there any deleted scenes from this show?

The way they accommodated Yukos visa made me think there was possibly some mistakes on their end as well. Also, I think Yuko scored very high with the judges. Her solo and interview were really good and she looks great on the giant screen.

i think if she was borderline they wouldn't have helped her and could have let her go back to Japan for next year.

Didnt Yuko say she performed in some international competition in Dallas and that's when she saw the cheerleaders? She may have made connections and really impressed people then. I'm sure someone in the organization watches those competitions. I don't think she just flew in from Japan on a whim.

Does anyone still have the interview episode on their DVR? Didn't Tasha specifically tell the judges that her husband was in Dallas?

She said her husband got a job offer in Dallas.  She did not say they had already moved there.

People go on the Bachelor/Bachelorette who have kids like Amanda in Ben's season. This is the same exact thing. I think even the Bachelor might be longer. I can't fault Tasha for trying to live out a dream. It's better than leaving your child for months to find "romance" on television.

She left her kid to go on Bachelor?  Sorry but that's just a bit lame ... not that I think people need to spend 24/7 with their kids but I find it hard to believe that those outlets are the best channels for "true love"

I like Amy, but girls who beg to stay on the team irk my nerves. Have some pride. You could tell this was a cut neither Kelli nor Judy was looking forward to. It probably went just how they expected it to go.

I'm thinking Kyndall would have made it over Kelsey if she looked like Kelsey.

I kind of like Charlotte. Does that make me a bad person?

The more I see of Other Heather (the tall one), the more I like her.

Almost makes you wonder if they waited to the very end to cut her just cause they were dreading it so much.  Probably knew she'd beg like CRAZY to stay in camp, so doing it at the very last possible minute was the only way they would be able to resist "giving her more time" cause there literally was no more time - and yeah, it went just how they expected to.

Good point about Kyndall.   Although I think Kyndall is so adorable, and is a much better fit looks-wise for the DCC than a lot of the girls on the current team, Kelsey is just in a league of her own when it comes to appearance.   Is she the prettiest one on the squad?  Definitely top 5.

I really like the taller blonde Heather too.  She's awesome.

They're both lame to leave their kids to go on some reality show. I understand leaving your child because you are deployed, ill, have legitimate work needs, even school in some circumstances, but to be a part time cheerleader OR to be a borderline prostitute on the bachelor - both pathetic.

I thought this episode was kinda blah and choppy overall for the finale.  Cutting Amy and Kendall, then coming back to the others to say "you're all winners" did seem kinda cruel, especially (as was previously said) it didn't give the other girls a chance to say goodbye.

There was no team photo and yet we got to see the opening of the "Ford STAR Center, which will be a worldwide phenomenon" seemed kinda gross.  Seeing Jerry Jones makes my skin crawl.

Simone has a concussion, All-Star Emma shows up without skipping a beat and we still spend much of our first game showing the fans in the crowd, many waving their CMT placards.  It would be nice to actually see entire dance routines with the girls vs. milliseconds of routines over enthusiastic fans.

Maybe because I knew the outcome but it thought this episode, overall, was very anti-climatic and dull.

Has anyone ever mentioned before that Madeline looks a little like Shirley Temple?

I like the Family and Friends event at the stadium over the Gaylord.

Tasha's ok and seems nice enough, but she's boring and has no personality. I like Maggie and can see her as being one of the main spokesperson like how Jennifer K is. Maybe Kelsey too.

Lastly, I wouldn't like it if they canceled MTT. I don't live in TX and am not involved in the dance world, so I can't imagine not knowing who any of the DCC's are.

I thought they stuffed everything into this episode.  We got to see pretty much what I thought had been missing from the last few seasons.

I'm glad they cut the group photo shoot.  It gave more time for more field view.

Amy's cut happened at the very beginning of the last practice shortly before the team was announced. I supposed they showed it that way because that's exactly how it happened (they wanted it to seem "real time" )

it was so painful to see and I was still in shock over that when they announced the team that I had to rewatch it and enjoy the reveal.

This episode was prime example of why the show needs to be longer. I had to watch it twice just to process everything.

K&J, the phrases "world class", "out of time", and "lots of mistakes" are forever banned from here on out.  We get it, find a thesaurus.

Amy and Kyndall cut...just rip my heart out and stomp on it with your boots. That's how it felt. I don't look at the "bad" traits of each girl. Honestly I try to root for whoever comes through that door in training camp, it's so hard to watch. I couldn't be the one to deliver bad news, so props to KJ.

Kelsey I swear to God you better come back next year and not turn into Breelan/Ashley Pro/Kat. Please....please.

Odd that they didn't show team photo. That's one scene they've always shown since it's such an OMG-moment.

Loved the family and friends event being at the stadium, wish we could have seen more! The Star opening wasn't that necessary, would have preferred seeing squad photo.

Injuries...someone give Emma a medal. When they eventually change from Thunderstruck (maybe after KJ retire) it will be hard to just replace someone like that. I also would be super careful outside of practice if I knew a game was coming up.

CMT PRODUCERS - This is reportedly your most watched series, please give us more than 8 episodes. There's too much to cover and too much "fluff" at the same time. You're wasting an opportunity.

Specifically (IMO) get rid of:

Rycroft- Nothing against her as a person, but the "mentoring sessions" are hella boring. zzzzz

10 different shots of cowboys fans cheering. The stadium is 3/4 full at most during pre-game and most the time people aren't paying attention.

Celebrity appearances, the girls and this process are interesting enough on their own. Waste of time, bring back alumni and guests choreographers!

Yep. Kelsey is (in my opinion) one of the top 10 most beautiful girls of the past several seasons, and she's charming, too.

I don't have a problem with Kelsey getting the spot. The job includes (1) modeling, (2) calendar shoot, (3) dazzling the fans in pictures and appearances. A dancer with a slightly better memory can't make up for all of that.

Agree with the Cowboys fans cheering shots. I'm a Cowboys fan, don't really feel like watching fans cheer at my tv screen. I get that enough at the actual game.

Why the hell didn't they call out Megan for her weight.  It was obvious and why is she so protected?

Someone else posted a comment about weight and I agreed.  I for one am glad they didn’t address it.  Enough.  Yes it was obvious but it doesn’t need to be addressed on a national show.  I’m certain it was dealt with off camera.

I dont understand how Amy got cut.  What made the other girl coachable?  Also Yuko cant speak English.  I thought DCCs had to have the full package.  Wouldnt speaking/understanding English be in that package? I

Unless she has an interpreter, I don't know how she could be interviewed well.

My husband and I were talking about the total removal of the team photo shoot. I suggested that CMT was tired of filming Kelli every year showing the girls down front how to scissor their legs when they pose.

Why wasn't this a special 2 hour episode so they could have enough time for each segment? It was SO incredibly rushed and it felt like it just went from scene to scene to scene. Bam! Bam! Bam! And no squad photo :(  That's one of my favorite parts, seeing the rookies get their uniforms for the first time, the excitement of being a real DCC. No, we don't need to see the whole "bouquet arrangement", but at least put SOMETHING in for squad photo day! It's been in EVERY season since the beginning and it just didn't feel right not having it. Please, CMT, put it up on the site as a deleted scene.

Even though I was spoiled for the season and knew who was going to get cut, I didn't think they'd do it right at the beginning of the episode. Man, was that hard to watch. I felt so bad for Amy & Kyndall. I knew Amy's reaction would be what it was. I'm glad she handled herself well and seemed resigned to the decision at the end. I'm so incredibly glad for her that she made the GSW dance team in the NBA. She looks terrific with her new hair make over they gave her and I think she's going to really blossom on her new team. Kyndall's cut was tough, but in a different way. She was cut the last night in the previous season and it just seemed like she was strung along only to get cut at the last minute again. I know they were trying to give them both a chance to show they could make the team, but I can't imagine how awful it must feel to know you got cut MINUTES before they announced the squad. Plus, they get cut and get escorted to an empty parking lot. No friends waiting to say their good-byes. It must have been so tough for them.

While I think Yuko is very endearing and adorable, I just don't see why they kept her over other girls. She made plenty of mistakes, too. However, I like Yuko, so I'm glad she's on the team. I just feel that there are others who should have been kept, too.

So proud of my girl, Kelsey, for making the squad. She handled herself so well and was very poised, even with all the strange questioning. #TeamBacon, #Sizzlean :)

I wish there were more than 8 episodes. I hate when the season ends.

Both Yuko and Simone were shown in uniform so I assumed that Kelli's policy is the same as many high school cheer programs: even if you are unable to perform, you still must suit up and attend the performance. You don't get to stay home, hide in the locker room, or wear sweats. You sit on the bench and watch your teammates perform.

Kelli said that Yuko's visa issues were cleared up in time for her to perform at the first regular season game so I assumed that what we saw in this episode was the friends and family event, the first preseason home game, and then the first regular season home game.

Agreed that the overall "feel" of family and friends is better at the stadium, but I love rewatching solos. Showcasing solos is a little easier at the glass cactus.

other than that one (admittedly small) reason I prefer the stadium too!!

The Yuko situation is just strange. I don't dislike her, but she definitely got special treatment that her dance ability doesn't seem to warrant. She's good but not that much better than the other girls.

I felt awful for Amy and Kyndall. I understood Amy's cut as she seemed to struggle all year, but I didn't really understand the issue with Kyndall as much, although she was certainly messy on the field. Both handled their exits with grace however. I do wonder if Jessika and Kyndall still live together...Awkward!

I don't mind Tasha leaving her kid since I think (and I could be wrong), her daughter and husband ended up moving to Dallas. Now, if the daughter is still in Utah, that's different, but training camp seems like its 6 or 8 weeks, mostly during the summer - I grew up with kids who went to camp for four to six weeks during the summer. I mean, it just doesn't seem like her attending training camp is something that harmed her daughter, and it's one of those things where I'm not sure that a man/husband would get criticized for, so it doesn't really bother me. The whole "I was homesick" spiel was a bit annoying however, since it was a choice.

Love Kelsey. She's not the best dancer, but I like her attitude, and she seems like someone who would be fun to hang around.

I always hate how they act like making minor formation and entrance changes could derail a show group performance. Give me a break! These girls have been dancing forever. It's not that big of a deal.

As some have pointed out above, someone in the organization wanted more international flair.

With the league looking to expand out into the world, having women from other countries generates interest.

Doesnt  Japan love the Cowboys?  At the same time it sort of puzzles me that there aren't a few more Hispanic girls on the squad, given not only TX demographics but Latin American countries in general. Mexico does LOVE  the Cowboys.

It is interesting that they got rid of weight talk completely this year. I guess they don't want to contribute to negative body image situations. Us long-time viewers know by now that they do bring it up and it is something the girls need to keep up with so they don't need to bring it up on air.

Kelsey is beautiful. Madeline does look like Shirley Temple. She's adorable.

Why didn't Mary audition this year? She still stunning.

The episode did feel rushed. They should add a few more shows.

Watching again (this is the only show I do that with). Amy would have been perfect on the team. So sad again for her but I suppose things worked out.

That cut hurt Kelli. And Judy a little bit, too.

If Kyndall had bigger moves and just committed to them, I don't think her mistakes would have looked so bad.

Was that Mary in the stands in black and white?

I don't know anything about Jerry jones but I don't think I like him.

Wish we saw more of Danielle. She's always been one of my favorites.

The compilations of 'Kelsie! Kelsie. Kelsie!' was funny.

Simone...I want to like her but she just seems flaky to me. Crying during squad photo? I was expecting someone died...

Maybe I'm being snarky, but missing a friend's wedding is something you'd probably known for awhile and not cry worthy during one of the happiest days for the team (especially rookies). Didn't she barely make it last year? And then injured herself in a yoga class which led to missing a game...meh. Get it together girl.

I actually thought it was really funny when Judy mentioned they would be slapping faces and then they showed the slow mo from behind. Sure enough, they would be slapping faces. I was imagining it in my head--the girls going down the aisle not breaking their composure as they whack ppl on the head with their poms.

Simone had to miss her best friend's wedding for the squad photo - gosh, that's a rough conflict :/.   I actually sympathize.    How far in advance do they know about the squad photo?   If it is a date set long in advance, then I guess none of it would have been a surprise, but if it's a date and/or time they set w/ little notice that's got to be hard for them.   Maybe the friend got married suddenly too, and if she did, hopefully understands.

I've always thought that the extended counseling scenes with Judy and Kelli were solely for the show. As other posters have suggested, I think Amy, the tall candidate and some others were let into training camp, or kept there over the weeks, solely so there would be these extended counseling and cut scenes. I think K&J may hate having to tape them, as in reality they are pros and they know what they want to do without a lot of hand-wringing and drama.

I thought several of the trainees had the same strengths and weaknesses - Yuko, Kelsey, Amy, Kyndall, etc. - yet some were kept and others were released. I found the excessive pandering to Yuko bizarre, given the practical limitations of having her on the team. K&J were probably overruled on some of these decisions.

We need to see less of the repetitive training camp stuff, and the faked forced scenes, and more of the real stuff - show group (love!), Kitty practices, new dances. Ax the horrible fashion show, the CMT crossover stars (although I love Kacey Musgraves' music), the Melissa R. coaching sessions.

I'm assuming that if Tasha's child had suffered Tasha's absence, Tasha and her husband would have dealt with it. I'm also assuming that the kid did just fine and saw her mother during training camp. Tasha gets to decide how she mothers.

This last episode made suffering through some of the earlier episode nonsense almost worth it.

Yuko's special treatment was odd. I mean, when she's on she's fun to watch but hardly worth all the trouble and missed trainings and performances. I think whoever said they are looking for more international appeal is correct. That's the only "nice" reason I can think of. I do think Kelsey has something special. She has that "it" factor that can't really be defined. I know she messes up, I know she's not as technically good as some of the others, but when she dances she's just such fun to watch. I think Amy and Kyndall didn't have enough international appeal or "it" factor and had to be cut because somebody has to. I like them both but can't really say anyone should have gone in their place. There's always next year, or other teams. It's not like they can never dance again.

I loved this episode and i am so sad that is over. 8 shows is not enough and i think they could even follow throughout the season! At least a few games. This is the best show on TV and I am serious, I get so sad when it is over.

I do think Madeline looks like Shirley Temple. Her hair looks better now and I think she wil improve. She seems nice and coach able. However, I thought she was fine last year, too. She has a young look, but that is not a crime. Jenna looks extremely young, too. Some just have the kind of face.

I am so upset that we didn't get to see more of the vets this year. They barely showed them! No updates, nothing. I feel like past seasons have shown a lot more substance. This year was kind of fluffy. I miss the apartment tours and shots of them driving around. This was more sanitized and calculated. Kitty was barely on there!

Surprised when Kelli said they exceeded her expectations and that she has never said that before. She really did seem pleased.

Loved Kelsey from seasons back and would have taken her then. I thought she was good and and extremely pretty. I understand what they are saying about needing to be a good interview, but I would give a pass for someone who makes some errors about football. There is time to learn that stuff, and that can be developed easily. I can't stand that woman who said girlfriend, when Kelsey got the answer right about the yards on the field. She seems like a mean girl and who is she to do that. I don't like humiliating people in their face. You can accept her answer and then talk about it later. You don't have to shame someone!

Tasha is neither here nor there for me. I don't feel like i got to know her at all. Morgan had so much of a story line in the past and a somewhat similar situation, but Tasha got no play. I personally would not leave my child for that long and I don't see how that is being a good role model. I work with school aged children and if i am out one day for being sick the next day they are so concerned and say they thought they would never see me again and where was I, etc. The coping of children is different than that of an adult. Plus, wouldn't you miss her? 1 week, OK, but 6+??? I don't hate her for that, but I can't get on board with the role model angle they tried to put on about her.

Yoko got tons of exceptions and they were very lenient with her in ways that they are not have not been with others. I don't understand.

Melissa R looked so awful i can't even describe it. She needs a makeover, Kelli! Get her to Tangerine Salon stat. What the heck is she thinking? Her highlights looked home done and her pony tail wasn't smooth. She looked like she had been camping to me. That is what ran through my head! Kitty would have blasted her!

In other seasons they have shown a lot more of field stuff. Remember that one year they showed those male cheerleaders? Cassie did the basket toss and Callie kept falling? That was so awesome! I loved that. Nothing like that this year. No USO tour pics either? No calendar shoot? What? I love that part! I always laugh when I see that  episode where Kelli is trying to speak Spanish to the curtain guy on the stage and says Go ROJO , Go BLANCO!

Bottom line, I want more! Why not extend it to more shows per season? It only makes sense if it is the highest rated show.

Mean girl? She was cheering for Kelsey, not trying to humiliate her. Kelsey nailed a harder question than most girls get and explained it in detail. I think the whole panel was rooting for her.
