SO glad PR is returning to Bravo! I hope this means the guest judges will be upscaled as well.

Some of those judges were being rewarded/bribed by Harvey Weinstein. I do wonder how many of the 'what does she have to do with fashion', seemingly random appearances were because of that now.

They may not all have had something to promote, but I suspect most did...like guests on a talk show, most are there because their PR people set it up for advertising something or another.  Surprised the women didn't all have to wear Marchesa garments, lol.

Wasn’t there a kerfuffle when they moved to Lifetime because there was a Bravo season in the can and they didn’t want to air it on Lifetime?

Here's an article the NBC lawsuit about the move from Bravo to Lifetime...

NBC Goes to Court to Keep ‘Runway’

What I didn't remember was

Even if NBC had retained the rights to the show, it was surely going to move off Bravo anyway. In initial talks with the Weinstein Company, one condition was that “Project Runway” would have to move to a larger network. NBC Universal had promised to do so, moving it either to the USA cable network, or perhaps even its broadcast network, NBC.

And that might well have changed the PR universe by leaps and bounds in very good ways.

I'm really curious to see what the new season will be like - they are obviously aware that some viewers feel it has keeled over into full on social-drama and I wonder whether they're gonna scale it back to the olden days or merely tweek it a bit. AND I'm looking forward to see who's gonna sponsor the accessories wall :-)

I think they already have this next season in the can (thought I read that somewhere) just no date as to when it will be shown. Unless they decide not to show what they have filmed by the previous production company and tape a new season to broadcast.

They film in June, so I suspect that the current season is filming now, as usual. They haven't skipped a current Fashion Week showing yet; they're just continuing on with the Magical Elves this time. There was plenty of time to get this into place after the Weinstein scandals came to light.

Yes, @Sew Sumi, I was thinking along the same lines! I wouldn't be surprised if they shelved anything shot by BM (especially if its 'only' AS), specifically if their approach is 'look, this is how its supposed to be done'. If they use the same bunch of designers they don't even need to put out a casting call. I think someone said upthread that when the show went from Bravo to Lifetime there was also a finished Bravo season that never aired (I'd love to see that, but I guess it featured designers that went on to be on other seasons)

I have seen it written somewhere that winners of competition-style shows such as this, are not paid until the shows air.  If that is the case, I feel sorry for the winner(s) of shows that may get caught up in this mess.  That would suck.  Hard.

Do we know when the show went back to Bravo?  I can't believe Bravo would have spent any money on it at all until they knew they had the show.

I do hope they refresh it in some way, although I'm not sure what that would be.  Same for All Stars.  Both just became drab after a while.   They need some fresh and creative ideas to bring this thing back to life.

Though I don't hate the unconventional challenge, this last season of PRAS seemed to be a full season of unconventional challenges.  I could do with fewer episodes featuring garmets fashioned out of caution tape and pool toys, and more episodes with garments a bit more relatable to modern folks of all ages and sizes.  I don't mean they have to be garments that would be sold at Macy's necessarily, but I think that there is a way to be relatable and fashionable.

I like one unconventional challenge and I really enjoy it.  Just one.

Unpopular opinion.  I prefer they use the traditionally sized models.  One challenge with plus sized would be interesting but that is enough for me.   I loved the early seasons with serious designers looking to jump start their careers.

Christian Siriano is the stand out star but there were many others who got a career boost.

My favorites include Uli, Jay, Jeffrey Sebelia,  Leanne, Chloe, Santino, Laura Bennett......  I am sure some have all gone on to include plus sizes but they did not hatch their career on that.  Christian designs for plus size stars frequently.

Runway shows by big name designers use slender models but their ready to wear lines often include larger sizes.   This is Project Runway, not Project ready to wear.  I get ideas from the thin models though I am 5'1" and would like to lose 15 pounds. :^)

Lindsay Lohan’s reality TV series is a go.

MTV on Monday confirmed the actress-entrepreneur’s earlier statements that the cable network was planning a behind-the-scenes reality show about her newly opened beach club on the Greek resort island of Mykonos. The series, under the working title “Lohan Beach Club,” has begun shooting and is scheduled to premiere next year.

“Pack your bags, MTV. We’re going to Mykonos,” the “Mean Girls” star, 32, said in a promotional video accompanying the announcement. Lohan Beach House Mykonos launched May 26.

The star had first mentioned the series in an interview with The New York Times on July 2. MTV also confirmed the series would be produced by reality TV powerhouse Bunim/Murray.

As the network described the new series, Lohan “will lead a team of hand-picked brand ambassadors” who “must prove their expertise, ambition and charm” as they establish “friendships and alliances while striving to rise above the temptations the Mykonos nightlife scene has to offer.”

The show “offers viewers VIP access to one of the most exclusive destinations in the world and a behind-the-scenes look at how a young, successful entrepreneur runs her empire,” said MTV Programming and Development President Nina Diaz.

Jill Zarin spent time at the Lohan resort thing this summer.  Wanna bet they were filming?  It was all over her Instagram.  Apparently, the Zarin's and the Lohan's are friends.  It's either real real, or reality TV real.  Either way, I won't be watching.

for the next generation of designers and fans.

The way I read that is we of older generations are not in their target demographic.

As many of us have said here and on other forums, older is not dead.  Older often has more money and wants to spend it (as we couldn't when we were younger.)

This could make for an interesting season.  For both shows. Will both win audience share? Or neither?

Heidi and Tim were interviewed at the creative arts Emmys and talked a little more about leaving.

Describing her relationship with Gunn as like husband and wife, Klum said that “Project Runway” “was our baby, and our baby is 16 years old now, our baby can walk and it’s going to walk by itself. We love our baby, we love our baby and we wish our baby good luck, but now we’re ready to pop out a new one.”

I can't tell-- which show is for the "next generation"? The Bravo reboot of PR or the new Amazon thing with Heidi and Tim?

This time without Harvey Weinstein as the "funny uncle" I suppose.  Love how this giant rapey elephant in the room is not mentioned.

I wish I could be sad about the demise of this incarnation of the show but I'm not.   It had become a mockery of itself.    Every episode left fans pissed off and frustrated.   It probably began with Anya's win, then came that Gretchen bitch and finally Ashley Nell Tipping Point.   The last few seasons were all agenda-driven and at times it seemed like the showrunners couldn't be bothered to even pretend that talent had anything to do with winning anymore.   The abbreviated challenges, the C and D list corporate sponsors, the pervasive sense that everything was being done on the cheap, those fucking twins ... the only reason I still watched was because it was on.

I'm not sure how much success Heidi and Tim will find on Amazon.    Hope they fare better than the Top Gear guys (canceled after two seasons).

I was watching a replay of some of the season 3 episodes and what I really noticed was how the quality of the guest judges has deteriorated in recent seasons.  Season 3 had Fern Mallis as the finale guest judge.  There was also Kate Spade, Vera Wang, Diane Von Furstenberg. And of course, Michael Kors as a regular.

It seemed to me the show had some credibility in it's early seasons, that has, sadly, been lost.

Reading the last few pages in thread made me go look up winners on the show's Wiki page. I haven't watched since Seth Aaron won his original or the All Stars season he won. The quality of the show definitely dropped after the move to Lifetime. That California season was especially bad.

Where?  youtube is the only place I saw the early seasons offered and they appeared to be a cell phone recording from a TV set.  Terrible!

Bravo ran a marathon of season 3 episodes a few weeks ago.  Not all of them, but quite a few.
