These pretty much cement that Adam's Comeback is Johnny Hayes, Gwen's is Johnny Gates, Alicia's is Jack Cassidy, and Blake's is Felicia Temple.

All right!  The journey of season thirteen is just about to begin!  Per Miley's Instagram, promo day was today, and she, Adam, Blake, and Jennifer were on set filming promos for the show before the Blinds start.

But per a source on Idol Forums, the Blinds themselves start taping tomorrow!  And I'll be here throughout the week with anything juicy that comes out of it!

Talking to some sources, one of them went to today's morning taping, and they had the first four chair turners of the season this morning. Miley got 2 and Blake got 1. Jennifer didn't get anyone at all lmao.

Sounds like Jennifer is learning that the landscape of the U.S. version is far different from the landscape of the U.K. version.  Must be having a slow start right now.

First of all, I'm glad to see that Adam finally, finally filled his team last.  Though I'm wondering if the show will present it that way?  It's really showing, though, how tired of the show he's getting if he's now finishing up his team that slowly.  Either that, or he got really picky and choosy.  Or both.

That said, I wonder who filled up first?  Blake again?  Miley?  Jennifer?  I'd be shocked if Jennifer did, since the only new coach I recall filling up first is Alicia in season eleven.

Also, another poster over there says that there might be a chance that Ignatious, the winner of the second Snapchat season, was definitely there for the Blinds, per the terms of his prize . . . but may not have managed a chair turn.  If that happened, then that will suck for him.

More to come as events warrant and details are given.  But we'll have to wait for either late July or early August for Battle spoilers, and either early August or mid-to-late August for Knockout ones.  Everyone's going home to rest while I guess production chooses the songs and pairings of the teams.

Team Adam is getting ready to head to L.A. for their rehearsals now.  Apparently, among them are Brandon Brown and Beau Rich.  It's a good chance that Casey Jamerson is on his team, as well, which would make sense since they're both rockers.

Guys the 1iota calendar has a few changes

1) the 4th knockout round taping has been cancelled (as we all expected)

2) They have added two days of tapings on aug 31/sept 1 for a voice "play-offs"

From the 1iota page: "The Playoffs consist of a team-by-team competition, in which each Coach chooses three out of the remaining five artists to continue into the Live Rounds."

Sounds like they're changing bloodbath week from live to taped.

Interesting.  So they're making like season six and torching the Live Playoffs entirely.  They're going to have the Playoffs be pretaped from now on.  The show must've lost quite the budget for the Live Shows.

I'm torn about this format.  On the one hand, the coaches have all the power, and they could send some truly good people through.  But on the other hand, they could also send some bad ones.  On the one hand, at least America will have no control, because heaven knows how many undeserving people have gotten the public vote, completely screwing up the coaches' apple carts.  On the other hand, if someone sucky gets through when he or she shouldn't, or someone great doesn't get through when he or she should, it can all be thrown squarely on the coaches' shoulders now instead of America.

Team Adam and Team Jennifer apparently completed their Battle rehearsals days ago, and now all four teams have been filtering their way back to L.A. over the last several days to get ready for the Battle tapings.  Tapings for the Battles will be on Sunday and Monday, August 6-7.

Knockouts will follow, being taped on August 17-18.

Playoffs are much later, being taped on August 31 and September 1.

So reading all of that, I wager that Miley, Jennifer, and Blake's first steals will all be on Monday.  Based on whom we saw in the Battle previews, that'll obviously be Adam Pearce vs. Whitney Fenimore (for Miley's first steal), Keisha Renee vs. Noah Mac (for Jennifer's first steal), and Chris Weaver vs. Kathrina Feigh (for Blake's first steal).  I think Dennis Drummond vs. Mitchell Lee will air on Tuesday for Adam's first steal, since they're Blake's "left-of-center" rock artists.

As for the second week, it looks like Adam, Miley, and Jennifer each use their last steals a week from Monday, and Blake's last steal comes a week from Tuesday.  For Monday, that has to be whichever of Addison Agen vs. Karli Webster (for Adam's second steal), Shi'Ann Jones vs. Stephan Marcellus (for Miley's second steal, since Miley winds up stealing a guy after initially liking her all-female team), and Janice Freeman vs. Katrina Rose (for Jennifer's second steal).  And on Tuesday, that's obviously Ashland Craft vs. Megan Rose that's ending the Battles for Blake's second steal since they're Miley's only two country artists.

Also, in terms of Battles ending with elimination, Jennifer's Battle on the first Tuesday will be Davon Fleming vs. Maharasayi.  They were the ones seen at the taping singing a Whitney song.  And I think the chart-topping pop song Adam's giving one of his pairings has to be Brandon Brown vs. Jon Mero, since both are R&B artists leaning more toward pop.  I have no idea as to the other non-steal Battles, though.

Well, Eric and Ignatious's Battle has to be next Tuesday, not the Tuesday coming up.  I just reread one of the summaries, and the fourth and last Battle episode reveals that Jennifer surprises "her two male R&B artists," and Eric and Ignatious are her only all-male pairing, as the rest are male vs. female pairings.  (Interesting that she didn't put any of her women together.  I wonder why she didn't make at least one all-female pairing?)  So I think they were included in the promo by mistake and will be held over till next week.  So of the eight pairings featured, seven of them are almost definitely going to be shown this week.

So that leaves the question as to whom the last two shown pairings will be, and which three pairings will be montaged on Tuesday.  The second episode's description says that there will be another Adam pairing, so it has to be one of those.  And I'm thinking it could be Brandon Brown vs. Jon Mero.  And Adam is going to steal Dennis from Blake after he loses to Mitchell, so that has to be the other one.

Nothing to share about the artists, but I have a small tidbit about season fourteen.

The chair order has now changed to (from left to right if you're standing on the stage) Adam, Alicia, Kelly, and Blake.  They probably want Kelly close to Blake since they're friends, and Alicia close to Adam since they're friends.

Although I posted them in the most recent episode's thread, here are the pairings for next Monday's Battles:

Assuming it's only these six, and there aren't the final three montaged Battles to also be included with them.  If these are the ones for next Monday, then that means, based on the pairs given for next Tuesday's episode, then those montaged Battles will, in fact, be featured either next Monday or Tuesday and include the following:

And I get it.  We know that Emily doesn't get into Adam's top three, so why chronicle every round of her journey?  Jeremiah does reach the Knockouts, but goes home in that round, so why show his Battle since he'll be gone by then, anyway?  Interesting to montage Red, though.  This makes two of Blake's ultimate top three (Red and Chloe, who ends up on his team after the Knockouts) getting montaged at least once, while Keisha probably gets shown in every round.

Still no huge news about season fourteen, though I do know that the fourth day of the Blinds just finished today.  Fifth and last day is tomorrow.

As for season thirteen . . . well, the top twelve have also been arriving in L.A., probably for promotional purposes and to prepare for the top twelve live shows.  Surprised that they're getting in a whole month in advance (as the first live show doesn't start till November 20), but they are.

And a good thing, too, because Davon Fleming, certainly lacking a filter, posted a story on his Instagram that finally answered the question of Team Jennifer's top three.  Team Adam, Team Miley, and Team Blake have had their top three known since the Playoff tapings, but no one was generous enough to tell Idol Forums Team Jennifer's for some reason or other.  They had be offered up by a poster there who claimed she knew who they were.  Two of them -- Davon Fleming and Shi'Ann Jones -- had reasonable evidence of being there, but the last person was unknown between Chris Weaver and Noah Mac.

But thanks to Davon's Instagram, the entire top twelve are revealed:

Well.  This is interesting.  Both in a good and a bad way.

Season fourteen's Blinds ended on Friday, and Weirdoo on Idol Forums uncovered a new Blind twist given to him by a source who attended the tapings personally.  It's a twist called the block.  Details are as follows:

Ok, I found out about the new twist: each coach has one block that they can use during the blinds. They can block another coach from having a contestant on their teams. My source told me Kelly used hers to block Alicia from competing to get a 4 chair turn girl who sung If I Ain't Got You (a strategic move). The girl ultimately picked Kelly. So in other words, it prevents the contestant from picking a specific coach.

Of course this will be labeled as a cool new twist that can hurt the coaches when it's actually something that hurt the contestants lol

I am very torn about this twist.  On the one hand, it's something new, at least, and it keeps the show fresh.  And it keeps contestants from going with the predictable coach, as well as keeping the coaches on their toes.  Plus, it could help the coach that uses the block get the contestant in question, as they might get a "hey, this coach really wants me that badly!" feeling and pick that coach.  On the other hand . . . it feels a bit mean-spirited and, as Weirdoo said, could actually hurt the contestant who might be better-suited with the blocked coach.  It might also backfire on the coach who uses it, as he or she might get pissed at the coach for taking his or her preferred coach off the table, prompting him or her to pick another coach out of spite.

One thing's for sure, though.  Adam more than likely planned to use that twist on Blake to steal at least one country artist from him.

I'm going to approach this new twist with a "wait and see" mentality.  For now, I'm glad that Adam, Kelly, Alicia, and Blake each only have one.  But if it goes well, I'd be open to them getting two.  Otherwise, I'd eradicate it from the rules entirely if it flops.

Now, obviously, Addison vs. Karli, Janice vs. Katrina, and Shi'Ann vs. Stephan are going to be shown tonight.  They have steals at the end of them (with Addison and Karli's Battle having the double steal being featured in promos).  So that just leaves it down to the other three.  I thought that Anthony vs. Michael, Brandon B. vs. Jon, and Anna Catherine vs. Kristi were locks to be shown since none of the other three were even seen.  But with these other three now being released, I don't know who'll be shown and montaged now.  I still think Alexandra vs. Jeremiah will get the dreaded montage, but given that Anna Catherine doesn't even make it past the Knockouts and Red does, maybe TPTB won't want us to get invested in her and montage her Battle with Kristi instead, and show Red vs. Ryan.  And while Anthony and Emily do get past the Knockouts, neither of them gets past the Playoffs, so why would TPTB get us invested in either one of them?  As Adam's only four-chair turn, Jon is a lock to be shown.  So either Anthony or Emily's Battle will have to be sacrificed.

Well . . . time will tell.

In either case, that leaves tomorrow's final three Battles in no doubt at all:

Eric Lyn vs. Ignatious Carmouche (Team Jennifer)
Adam Cunningham vs. Natalie Stovall (Team Blake)
