Did anyone else get the impression that Brianna was less then thrilled that Ryan was back?

It looked to me that she remembered the camera was there and then covered her face. It just struck me odd

Everything looks pretty in pictures or when typed up like that :) Like I said we go when it is cheap and we split it 12 ways. But, thank you, it's a nice time and all the other couples shed their kids for a few days.

The Griffin estate really is gorgeous but I was shocked as hell that none of those clucks knew who he was.  How is that possible? Or...am I really that old?

I shouldn't be, but I am always surprised by how little intellectual curiosity exists across this franchise. I know they aren't casting for smarts but it is surprising how few of them have even passing knowledge of the most basic things. Like, I don't know, not hollering the c-word in a crowded restaurant.

I cracked up because that's where Gretchen and Slade went with Gretchen's parents like, 75 seasons ago so he could pretend he was going to maybe pretend to maybe pop the question on camera. I thought, interesting choice, Vicki!

I forgot about their visit.  That seems like a different show.

Briana is just like her mom, she feels one can say anything reveal anything and because they are on a show all is forgiven and invitations are automatic.  Icing on the cake calling David mean.  It is comment like, "David will be paying for the affair for a long time," that keep Vicki off the guest list.  Briana rambling explanation about her mom being allowed her "slutty years", I would call those years from when she cheated on her husband with Donn, the multiple affairs during her marriage to Donn a pretty good warm up for her slutty years.  I am trying not to slut shame Vicki but her daughter brought it up.

I thought Brianna was using "slutty years" as a joke from the movie Bridesmaids.  That's what it reminded me of and she kind of giggled when she said it.

My father was ADDICTED!  If he came home from work early, he immediately changed the channel to Merv Griffin.  If it looked like he had fallen asleep (snoring and all) and we dared change the channel to Wee Willy Weber and his cartoon show, he would wake up and yell "I was watching that"!

The Girl From Ipanema is forever embedded in my brain.

OK, I did not know about Ragey Ryan being able to retire with less than 20 years of service.  I know he must have seen horrible things overseas, but nothing will change the fact that he will always be a total dick.  And his lovely wife will always be an entitled cow.  She should be grateful her awful husband is still alive and in one piece, instead of complaining that she is like a single mother.  Vicki raised such lovely, compassionate children.

I hope they stop bad mouthing Oklahoma City soon.  My daughter lives there, and it is lovely.  I know from personal xperience that there are wonderful doctors there too, so, shut up Brianna.

Right?  It's a state.  Are we to assume people who live in Oklahoma sacrifice good medical care to live there?  Infections happen in every hospital. I don't think Vicki is making Brianna's life any easier.  She could have stayed in OK and watched the kids for a few weeks/months while B. recovered.

I can see where, if maybe, it was because she was moving back to doctors that knew her and her history, first hand.  Other than that, I agree;  There is absolutely no reason why she shouldn't be able to find competent specialists in Oklahoma City-especially with it being the largest city in the state.

Actually, that is exactly why she moved back, at least according to Vicki. Briana wanted to be treated by the Dr.s that treated before.

Seems like a bit of recycling to me.

You might be right about that. But I also remember one of the ho wives shows where they stayed at a home in Palm springs that was originally owned by Frank Sinatra . Maybe that was Beverly hills housewives.

I believe them on this. As JennyMominFL pointed out, having a chronic medical condition changes things, especially if you get worse under the care of a different Dr. Sadly, it seems these Dr.'s haven't had much luck in getting to the bottom of her medical problem and she has since gone to the MAYO Clinic to seek help/answers.

Oh, I don't disagree that it's a perfectly legitimate reason, especially with Brianna having complications.  I would be one of the first ones to say "Y'know what? I'll go back to the people who know me".  And that's great for her to have that option.  I'm just pointing out that the words came from a known drama queen who makes binders with tabs and all that. imo, Vicki is not necessarily credible.

I know what you mean and I agree with you when it comes to Vicki. Briana on the other hand is a different subject, I think she thought this thru before moving back early and I have no doubt that Vicki pressured and bribed her to do it as well. And, Vicki did it for her own selfish reasons, someone to film with, more than because Briana was really very, very ill.

Even my dog seeks continuity of care.  She got sick while one of her normal specialists was on vacation and it has been the worst.  I got a call today from her normal specialist letting me know she's back from vacation and has reviewed all the notes and we're going in tomorrow to see her.  The fill-in docs aren't used to her and her condition looks bad if you don't know her baseline, so they were talking about surgery, whereas in real life we're going with a topical medication.  When you've got a medical history that's a couple of file folders thick, it's a lot easier to go with someone you've got history with and already knows everything about you.

I'm sure Brianna went l back to OC  for multiple reasons. I  believe that she also just doesn't like OK. She's from SoCal. They are very very different. I also feel like Ryan probably doesn't give her a lot of help with the kids. She's sick. I think she may feel that her mother will give her more help. Ryan seems like an ass. I just can't believe he is much help.   I also agree with the posters who think that she was not happy to see him.

IMO, it didn't register that it was Ryan she was seeing and when she did realize it was him, she was all over him. I really do think they love each other and their boys seem to adore their "daddy" and he, them. Who knows how much help he was at home, we do know that his sons ran to him, would not let him go and he was in no hurry to put them down either...all signs of a loving dad.

When they get to the event?

She starts in about the empty seat - "You dad has a seat that we saved for him - keep your eye out for him...Max, send him a photo, let him know we have saved him a seat?!?!?!?"

I call horseshit on the whole scene.

Call me confused, but I thought Max was their son all these years.

It's not always a bad thing, and sometimes military families it just sort of happens. The military parent is gone a lot, often for months.  The other parent gets used to being the one doing those jobs, as do the kids.   I was the guardian for a child whose dad was navy. He was gone for the better part of 2 years after 9/11. I  became the one that did all that stuff and it never really changed. Believe me, this man loves his daughter and she loves him. It just became comfortable and routine, and frankly gave her stability. And now Ryan is injured and dealing with a retirement and all that comes with it. She may get more help right now from a healthy mother.

I  still think Ryan is an ass, but I don't think his relationship with his kids is bad.

Kelly is really off her rocker in this weeks blog! LOL

http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-orange-county/season-11/blogs/kelly-dodd/kelly-dodd-enough-with-the-apologies

First, She does know that she wrote her blog long after the season was filmed right?

"It seems all I do is fight, defend myself and then apologize for doing so. This week, I apologize to Heather when we were having dinner at the Deck in Laguna Beach. As usual, the offending party takes no responsibility for their actions and offers no apology to me. For those of you who follow me, you know I wholeheartedly apologized to all in my blog two weeks ago." (I bolded the funny part) First, she did the offending, not Heather and a blanket apology doesn't negate the need for a specific apology.

Then she says this..... "The only point where there was any controversy was when Tamra stated Heather’s concerns regarding my language and behavior around kids, since we were both invited by Tamra to Eddie's birthday bash in Glamis. Of course, this was outlandish and unfounded. If truth be told, Heather curses at least as much as I do. ". Yes, Heather does swear but she doesn't swear anywhere near as often as Kelly does nor does she go beyond mild swear words. Kelly would make a drunk sailor blush with her vulgarity use. LOL

Third/Final, it seems that Kelly reads here or at other similar sites. "I don’t know about you, but Heather’s constant nagging that Terry works too much is wearing on me. " Heck, Heather did call Terry ugly names, unlike Kelly who doesn't even try to disguise her distain/disgust for her own wallet husband. LOL

I agree with this.  She's sick with two little boys-- I was sick with two toddlers and couldn't WAIT for my mom to fly from another state and take over while I went to bed and got well!  Totally let her, too.  I also didn't think Brianna was happy to see Ryan because then she cant relax totally.  She has to be the referee between him and Vicki and keep both happy. You know Vicki isn't always that sweet to Ryan as she puts on in front of the cameras.  And with his personality, you know she gets on his nerves and I'm sure Brianna is hearing it from both sides.  And Michael the son..... I think Vicki's blackmailing him to be on the show, he certainly acts like it.  Maybe threatening to take away his job (if she has that power) or something?  He's miserable being filmed for the show.  I sadly remember both Michael and Brianna when they were teenagers and happy. Then Brianna got sick and who knows what happened to Michael?  He was acting like a normal happy college guy until Vickie burst into his house all ready to whoop it up with his friends.....  That could have scarred him.

On another note, Heather can get off her high horse any time now.  I'm sick of her 'I'm up here and you're down there' act.  Heather, you're not up so far that you won't do whatever Bravo wants you to do, and happily cash that paycheck.  That's a pure Ho'wife.

I have a different take.  I think Brianna is thrilled her husband is back with her because i think Vicki walks a whole different way when he is around.  And I am not talking about him being this mass murderer in waiting his yelling at that old flake seemed to inspire.  I simply think he doesn't take Vicki's shit for the most part even if she is jingling her change purse in his direction.  And he is the 'reason' Brianna can shit Vicki down that on her own she just cannot do.

I saw the bit when he arrived and it seemed to me that Brianna was looking at him like "oh crap who else is here" because she knows the behind the scenes, she knows Kelly is shit coming out the other side of the fan by now probably by this point and she knows she has taken the Real Housewives tiger by the tail and cannot let go.  And then she realizes who it really is.  To me it just seemed that Brianna hates the fact she is involved in something she clearly loves the benefit of but is self-aware enough to also know the pitfalls.  She also, I think made a deal with the devil, her mother, to reap more benefit by letting Vicki make Brianna's illness and move all about her.  Because a sick young mother separated from her husband for a time (no matter the reason or the contrivance of it all) makes for the best attempt at a palate cleanser post-Crooks, she could probably think of.

I give Brianna a little slack on the move itself.  I think she was working two part time jobs and probably was making good money, I know some with less qualification than she has making a good low six figure income doing the same and working hours that fit the rest of their life quite well.  But it has drawbacks that can limit sick leave benefits etc.  So the move could be due to her being out of work anyway.  The house being sold meant that she would have to move out anyway eventually, so with the health issues why not go back to where they were going to end up anyway with his retirement pending soon.  Going when she did might have been a timing issue with her health in part.

But I also wonder if she is not working due to her health, is whatever salary she is getting from the show might be in the low six figures when locations fees and various comps kick in (I wonder if that 50,000 of hers didn't go right from the BRAVO paycheck to being signed over to her contractor).  And as unfathomable as it may be, I do think she loves her mother and saw it as a chance to help Vicki redeem herself and get through that first season after being outed as a huge lying piece of trash.  Remember all those posts here when the first question of Crooks being a cancer liar came up?  How many typed to the implied doubt with something along the lines of "who lies about having cancer?!"  And we all know the answer is Vicki.  So does Brianna.  And I do wonder just how much Vicki needs that paycheck.  And the part on the show emotionally.  I hate to say it but I think a small reason in the least was Brianna saw it as a means to 'save' her lying sack of shit mother's ass.  Help herself as well?  Most definitely.  But had Vicki come back and completely crashed (which sadly it does not seem she is doing) and given her pink slip, I think Brianna's life no matter how much you may think she deserved it, would be an utter hell.  I mean Vicki getting the richly earned and deserved toss from the show would that crazy lying bitch completely off the rails.  This Kelly might be wacko, but I could so see a Vicki-less season having Vicki stalking the show and trying to be in the background at every public scene.

I think Briana's decision to move back to OC was all about grabbing that orange. She was offered a place on the show, so they scrambled and put their house up for sale, Ryan requested medical retirement, and Vick was all on board so she could have an advocate as well as have her family close by ( ahem, control mode). They had to have a reason for Brianna to return so they used the excuse of being near her doctors. If she wanted to be cared for by her OC docs she wouldn't have had a biopsy done in Oklahoma shortly before the move.

I think Michael isn't on the show often because producers realize it's like watching paint dry. Vicki is on the show because Michael pushed for it. He is one odd duck.

You want to live in Simi Valley. STILL not-as-crowded, easy ocean access- IF you want to do concerts, ballgames, shit like that?  You MUST drive a bit. Otherwise? Go to Tommy's Original Burger and get a double, extra pickles, chili extra or on the side, fries and a coke, no ice.

I thought the same thing after I posted before about this.

That is another dynamic to think about.

Another spin?

Here's the scenario?

IF some problems start in the relationship - gomer flips out or threatens her - Briane is going to think hard and fast because 'she makes better choices than her mother" does.

She has been more of a nasty friend to vicki, than she has been a daughter, so she runs the risk of Vicki tossing it back into her face, should the marital bed be visited by some discord?

Brianna is on the show because Vicki had a sense that the other ladies were not going to film with her, and she needed someone to fill up her scenes with.  And also - if the whole Brooks/cancer thing did not happen, and Vicki was not on the outs with everyone, there is no way Vicki would be giving Kelly the time of day.  Look at Vicki's face when Kelly is talking.  She does not genuinely like her.  She is hanging with her out of necessity, that is all.  Brianna is there out of necessity also.  Sorry Vicki, you chose you stand by your man , and now you are standing alone.   I am LOL remembering her screeching "He's MY MAN!"  "MY MAN" "You don't talk to him that way!"  Ha ha reap what you sow.

Well, the way she slammed the state, I was under the impression that she'd have to go down to the saloon and ask Miss Kitty to call Doc.

Probably playing checkers with Marshall Dillon in front of the General Store?

I loved seeing Merv's beautiful home.  Bob Hope (of course no one will remember him either, the legendary comedian) also has a gorgeous modern estate nearby too.  That was the only thing worth seeing in this boring episode. I will say that Vicki looks great -- the best she has ever looked. Her haircut is really flattering and the weight loss makes a big difference, although she has always had decent figure for her age.  I don't like her boobs coming out to play either -- gross on an older woman (I am only a few years younger than her) -- but she does look much better. I also appreciate that Vicki can cook (the salmon and asparagus she served looked great) and do things around the house -- I know that's not a big deal but you see very few housewives cooking, gardening, fixing up the home with the exception of Lisa Vanderpump and a few others.

Like everyone else, I am not digging the forced relationships and fake friendships this season.  Back in the day, Vicki would never have been friends with Kelly -- she would have picked on her or ostracized her.  She's cozying up to her because no one else will film with her and like others have said, Kelly is the convenient scapegoat that deflects their own flaws and mistakes.  I miss the old days when at least the friendships seemed somewhat real -- like Vicki and Jeana's and even Vicki and Tamra from previous seasons.  Now it just feels like we are watching a bunch of bad amateur actresses at work.

Fuck the traffic, big time.

I worked in Los Angeles, my GF and I live in Palmdale, It was a 57 mile drive, about two hours on Friday night. I'd spend the night at my parents to save money, time and stress. That was only a 17 mile drive that took about 45 - an hour, on a good day.

I drove Culver City to Glendale yesterday afternoon and it took almost 2 hours.  It was the worst.  I wasn't even deep in Culver City, it was Washington/Sepulveda.  I was wishing for the 45 miles per hour that Jim was complaining about on the party bus last week.

Bob Hope had another home in the San Fernando Valley.

I grew up there and new the name but never realized there really is a lake there until I was in my early 20's -The reason is that there is no public access to it.  It's surrounded by estate lots and it's pretty exclusive.

As a fan of all things with boobs on them?

It's not her BOOBS that are offensive, It's who they are attached to.

A great set of tits aren't as fun when belong to a shrew.

I am really disappointed that Playboy changed it's format.

Gomer is a machista.

Bicks, in order to keep briane happy, knows she has to tread lightly.

Case in point?

The CCTV system that he installed when they were living with the bickster?

The live in a gated community - not to say shit don't go down in there - that just smacked of paranoia to me.

HE probably installed a camera in Bicks room, to keep tabs on her, too?

--------

The three of them play a push-pull game.

Think of it this way?

Three people (or however many) in a circle holding hands?

Each pull or push affects everyone else.

It's all about how hard you push or pull?
