I’m not social media savvy and have a question. I am not asking anyone to out themselves so sending me a PM is OK.  I’ve had it with Derelict bashing on Jazz, a beautiful, minor female. TLC must be aware of Picasso face’s hateful tweets. Does it help to report the tweets? Have any of you reported? Does Twitter even care? How can we be effective with TLC? it's interesting that Derick's "concerns as a Christian" never amount to actually helping anyone.

He's very good at offering his advice and counsel to people who have never asked for it, and have shown no interest in hearing from him. Aside from harassing Jazz, his only claim to fame is spending a couple of years trying (unsuccessfully) to convert Christians to Christianity.

On the other hand, there are people who could use help, but we have NEVER actually seen him get off his ass to help anyone. He was able to unclench long enough to offer some rice and beans and a couple of squares of banana bread to the locals in DA, but precious little else.

I suspect there was some bequest to the sponsoring church designated for those with vocations. It may have been divided x# of ways between those raising funds. Who knows.  It is disgusting, regardless.

Derick, however well-meaning, this does not make you look good. The key issue for many people is accountability. As an accountant, you really should know that. People who donate deserve to know where and what the money is spent on. Not doing so looks bad.

Yes, we try to be as transparent as possible so that all donors know exactly how the funds are being used. Donors can also contact us (by correct contact info) w/ any questions or concerns they might have. We have tried to use the utmost care in communicating this to our donors.

Well, I just spent (some -- i.e., too  much) time reading the comments of some of his fellow God-botherers over on the "school" website. And Der's certainly in the right company.

A heck of a lot of 20-something guys, and a few women, obsessed with "learning" how best to tell other people that they need to tell other people about the correct Jesus so they can tell more and more and more other people about telling more other people about the correct Jesus forever and ever amen.

I completely get that they think doing this is the most important thing in the world, but I still can't figure out how so many people become so convinced that it is. Or maybe it's just easier than other things you might do to, you know, earn a living or help people out or whatever ...Anyway, made me want to have a laminated sheet made of these guys' headshots so I can spot them on the street and run if I see them. 

And they are all very important to God, just like Der and his in-law clan. God plans out every single itty bitty thing they do.

After I I read this little "report," I gave up:

"The other day I was on a schedule, I was going to attend a volleyball game for half an hour, then pick up a friend before attending my small group. Naturally I didn’t have any cash in my car, so I gathered what change I had to pay for a game ticket. I gathered three dollars or so, then I was told it was five dollars to get in. I was left waiting outside for a friend to rescue me -- this was not part of the plan. You know what, God knew all about this. It was no surprise to Him that I was outside, it was no surprise that my plans were changed, He knew. Of course one of my students walked by while I was standing outside. I started a conversation with her that began what has since become an awesome relationship. She was going through a difficult time, and I was completely unaware of that when I began the conversation. My plans were altered because I was unprepared. But God still decided to show up, He decided to arrange that divine appointment with that student. Since then I’ve developed a relationship with this student that might have never happened had I not had that conversation."

I suppose that having God know in advance that the amount of loose change you have won't quite cover the ticket cost for the volleyball game -- and also know exactly who's going to walk past the gym in the next half hour -- makes you feel quite important.

It might make me feel like there was no point to living, I think. But that's just me. 

Anyway, I think Der should change the wording of his gofundme from the obvious bullshit line about "meeting other people's needs" to "making me feel very very important." 

Hoping that most of them are actually paying their own way into this "education." Probably more so than not, I'd think, since most people don't have hundreds of thousands of internet followers, but who knows. They obviously all think that this "education" they're paying for is of the utmost importance for all human kind. So I suppose that would pretty much justify any method at all of paying for it. 

I wonder what Der'll try next, once he "completes" this "education" on his gofundme "scholarship." Cause it only lasts a year. 

Maybe that "God knows how much change you have" thing is why he doesn't need to account for his money, though. After all, the correct Jesus obviously has a complete account in his head at all times of the exact amount of money every human being has, to the rupee, as well as what we're going to do with it.  Accounting aschmounting. It's already done by That Great Bookkeeper in the Sky.

The words "because he apparently can" come to mind. 

I still do think that Der, Bin and Jer all thought they'd be getting the churchy version of a celebrity lifestyle when they married into the Duggars. (Go directly to your cushy position at the megachurch of your choice. You will never owe anybody $200!)

And it looks to me as if there have probably been just enough perks so far that they're still holding onto this childish fantasy of "we're famous so I deserve it!" (whether they admit that to themselves or not ...)

At some point the fantasy'll have to come crashing down (won't it?), but I don't expect any of them to seriously look for non-dream employment until it does.

I thought this story was going to end with some good samaritan paying for or making up the difference for the volleyball ticket. It ending in a special relationship with a student is squicky.

Someone on Twitter said that all the people in Derick's program are running gofundme campaigns for $10k and the wording of the requests are essentially identical. If true, I guess it is a required part of the program, just like the previous requirement to beg for $6,000.

Speaking of which, what happened to that $6,000 and why is $10k more needed now? That covers more than the $12k tuition for the program.

Someone in FJ stated the program does not permit non registered spouses and children along to the missionary field trips. If factual, why is Jill such a special snowflake? Did Boob write a note stating Clingy Jilly would fall apart without her useless headship? Jill and the kids can easily stay at the TTH. 

I was reading the comments on the grifter’s Twitter. There is mention of an Elsa who requested her $100 donation to Dillard Ministries refunded. She allegedly sent a letter to them, signature requested. A poster alleges Derelict never refunded her money, then blocked her. Have I been living under a rock? I do not recall mention of this. Does anyone here knows?

I admit to being somewhat of an addict regarding precipituous birth. I frequently Google"woman delivers" and "woman gives birth" so I can read all kinds of strange stories about women delivering on the side of the freeway, in their bathtubs, etc. One story was of a kindergarten teacher who suddenly went into labor and delivered right then and there behind her desk.

These stories fasinate me!

Well, I wondered how all these out of state 20-something small-time pastors and youth ministers and such were managing to spend a year attending this scam  school.

And yeah. Turns out if you google cross church school of ministry and gofundme, you pull up a bunch of them. ...

That says to me that this is probably just as much a Cross Church grift as it is the grift of the individual moneyseekers. The church knows that they'll get many more takers for their program if they suggest a way to get it funded without having to save money or sacrifice anything. So they do.

And if they seem to be directing the fundie fundees about how much money to ask for, as has been said, they probably suggest that people ask for the tuition money plus extra money to live on, and maybe pay for "mission" travel and so on. Because if the attendees get enough money to cover anything that might come up then the church is in no danger of falling short of the amount it wants for its "educational services." 

And the church and all its "students" justify this by saying that it's the truest charity of all -- money to teach people how to teach people how to teach even more people how to grift for the correct Jesus. 

Lovely little racket.  By the end of it, I'm sure we'll all be converted.

My neighbor delivered in her driveway.  It's been eight years and I still think about it when I'm walking my dog past.
