I thought that was frowned upon in fundieland. ie. If God doesn't want you to get pregnant, you won't get pregnant, but it's okay to take progesterone, as Kelly Bates did with several of her later pregnancies, to sustain it. But wouldn't it also be God's will for one to lose a pregnancy whose host lacked the progesterone to sustain it? The only rationale I can come up with is that they think that not to act would be murdering a life already created.  

Anyone?

It's probably just me, but it bugs me that Izzy isn't sitting down to eat his sandwich. IMO, he should be sitting down with that sandwich, at least cut in half, if not into 4ths, with some, fruit or soup and a beverage. 

I get there are times when you throw a lunch at a kid when you're running out the door or something, but every pic she posts of Izzy eating is on a bed, or a couch, or standing up. It just feels very feral to me.

Honestly I think if they weren't pregnancy/baby addicted they would probably just let nature take its course, especially if they already had 10+ kids. 

I think Michelle Duggar, Kelly Bates and probably Jill Rodriguez have some mental disorder/pregnancy addiction that makes them go through these extra lengths to have a zillion kids. Also the elusive '20' race that MIchelle and Kelly were in.  I think they probably would say " saving a life" to rationalize it in their own heads.

I think the run of the mill gothard followers wouldn't do fertility due to lack of funds, secret relief, god will ect.

Or she could be like my cousin who had a laying on of hands to get pregnant.  I doubt they have good enough health insurance to cover stuff like that.  I could be talking out of my behind because I have never checked to see if that type of doctor would be covered with minimal plans (cause you know these people do not have cadillac plans).  But seeing a full fledged specialist?  Nah, that's only for Meechelle and Josie.

I'm happy Jill is staying home for a while.  She was so obviously miserable down there.  Izzy needs a mother that is not crying and scared of her own shadow.

As I've said before, they could *possibly* be going on the El Salvador trip. Other Duggars may go on that one. However, if Jerick are no longer in SOS's employ, Duggar Herd Mentality may keep them all away from SOS for a few years, or maybe even for good. I am really curious what their status with SOS is now.

As a mother of a toddler (19 months) I kind of have to stand up for Jill here (and it pains me to do it).  Based on my experiences with my daughter, sometimes it's a win just to get the kid to eat. My daughter WILL NOT eat if she's stuck in her high chair. Toddlers are headstrong and you can't reason with them. Sometimes you just let them do what they want so their needs are met.

I think she could handle it better than several more months or even weeks in Central America.  She could have one of her sisters come stay or go stay at the TTH.  I think she's one who might be fine moving back in the dorm for awhile.

I was thinkin' the same thin' about her droppin' the "g". I don't know how her phone is, but on mine you have to press the shift button to get the apostrophe, so that's one more extra button/effort, and it's an interestin' conscious decision, since she didn't do it with all of the spellin's. Not to be too nitpickin', I just find it fascinatin' how colloquialisms make their way into written word.

Heck, I'm, lying on my unmade bed in front of my laptop and eating baked beans cold (not right out of the can; I did at least put them in a bowl) for lunch. I can't give them grief for quite a number of things they do. However, I do have the etiquette to attend a formal dinner party if need be, and do cook plenty of multi-course meals on a regular basis, neither of which seem to be skills that any Duggarling, especially the younger ones, will have any training in as they get old enough to venture from the nest (if they ever do).

I'm still not very ambitious about making the bed, though...

Aaaa, not necessarily. I know quite educated people who quote that proverb. Izzy's young yet. The Dulls may see some things over the next five to ten years that enlighten them. Only time will tell.

Ah, but you were not raised by Meeechelle Let-them-eat-cake-on-the-run-(or-standing-on-the-counter) Duggar. I don't get the impression many meals have been sit-down-at-the-table affairs at the Duggar house. Or even sit-down-on-the-couch affairs. I mean, if I saw a kid run into the bathroom to eat, I'd be horrified and do my best to change the family's eating ways. But according to that Jill story, it doesn't seem likely that happened at the TTH. 20-plus years of enculturation doesn't disappear easily. Particularly among brainwashed, long-isolated, dumb people who apparently think Meeechelle earned those MOTY awards.

Yup, like I said, I think it's a personal thing. I, too, eat my fair share of meals now, on the couch watching TV. But I was raised eating at a table with my family, and I raised my kids the same way. We enjoyed eating together as well as learning table manners. I feel with Izzy's nomad life he might benefit in more ways in one, from having the predictable routine and expectation of sitting at a table eating his meals.

I think they think they're being up to date with the way the general population of the US talks.  Look for them to then go the other way and put hard "Gs" next.  I look forward to them saying "Ax" for "Ask", "Yous" for "You", and many other alternative pronunciations for common words.  It's very junior high/high school, but many of us go through it.  We usually go through it in junior high or high school, but whatevs.  ;  (That's a wink.  Is the semi colon still current for a wink?  I'm old and just trying to keep up.)  :))

Well. true, over the long haul. But she nominally raised them while Jill was little. And when she stopped, they raised themselves based on her practices. So -- same difference, I'd say. lol

I think she would be fine. My feeling -- based on nothing more than the show -- is that Jill's problem is Derick as much as Danger America. I've had the feeling for a long time that there are issues in the marriage and that JB and J'chelle have been "counseling" them, but haven't made much headway.

Ultimately, I think that Jill wants to be with her family, and she is uncomfortable being away from them -- at all. I think that Derick wants to be away from her family, and doesn't want them around -- at all. I think that their entire marriage has been a series of compromises between Derick who wants to be a missionary, and Jill who wants to pretend to want to be a missionairy's wife. 

JB and J'chelle are between a rock and a hard place on this. All their teachings say that Jill should obey her husband and go along with him and be a subserviant help-meet, but they've got Jill on Skype crying non-Gothard-approved tears to her sisters and messing with the message, and it's a pain in the ass to have them so far away when they need to be helping to carry the new show and keep the family in groceries . . .

This was my thought as well. They bring celebrity, but also scrutiny. SOS seems to launder a lot if assets, and seem not to have benefited much from the Dillard. Plus, the SOS people might have realized all Jill really wants is to lounge around the house all day, and maybe make the occasional easy concert for bragging rights. Imagine being too useless to even "vacation" right.

Regardless, she's happier now, staying at home and being a complete failure at life. I'm sure Derick realizes he's never escaping the bubble. I'm thinking they'll milk 'temporary visit home' for as long as its viable, then Derick will become Jim Bob Inc's tax accountant.

Over the weekend, Jill posted a picture on the Dullard FB page (didnt' even know they had one) of a homemade angel on their Christmas tree and talked about Izzy's first Christmas at home. They could still possibly be going on the El Salvador mission, but if so, they're not staying. Next week will tell the true tale: Will other Duggars be going or stay at home? I think that will signal whether Jill and Derick are done with SOS or if the door is open for them to return. 

The Duggars work in a pack mentality, so if the Dullards are no longer in their employ, I doubt that Boob will lead the Family Delegation, complete with soccer balls, Dum Dums, and fingernail polish, on the 10th. We shall see who does (or doesn't) go.
