I guess we shouldn't tell her that the guy who plays Adam in the movie at the Arc thing in KY is a gay porn star.  We had a field day with that when it broke.  But I guess if you can ride a dinosaur in a saddle, bareback doesn't bother you.

Bahahahaha I didn't know that! Maybe we need to send her some links on social media. 😁🙃

Cathy, Cathy, Cathy.  Please try reading the bible instead of throwing at people.  If you wonder why heathens don't go to church, this is the reason.  We hate self righteous people who try to stop people from helping others.

This! This times a million!

And what about the fact that King James was gay? That must be fake news.

Jill's new skin care line is from Rodan +Fields, which is an MLM started by the people who founded Proactiv. It probably is good stuff, but Rodan + Fields is an MLM (multilevel marketing). Her friend who gave her the "free stuff" is most likely a seller of Rodan + Fields. Like any MLM, you have to recruit more (and more) people to sell. My guess is she's trying to recruit Jill.

MLMs and fundies go together well. Plexus, sold by Jill R and many others, is an MLM. Meri Brown sold Lula Roe. Allison Bontrager Helferich and some of her sisters-in-law sell Young Living Oils.

The products change, the business model doesn't. Most people do not make money in an MLM. Run, Jill, Run!

She is, that’s why Jill tagged her, and Jill previously posted about the same product.

MLM is fucked up. You have to go on these "lifestyle vacations" (with you paying). A lot of housewives do it thinking it's something cool while their kids are growing up and get sucked into tons of debt from the requirements of recruitment + lifestyle vacationing.

Rodan and Fields' product line is based around a benzoyl peroxide gel. It's good acne treatment, but there are many cheaper sources that don't have the added burden to recruit new sellers that an MLM brings.

In my opinion, the founders, doctors Rodan and Fields, traded ethics for money. Late night informercials weren't enough. They went for a pyramid scheme. Who gets rich in a pyramid scheme?

Yes, run Jill, run. Check your local Walmart for benzoyl peroxide acne treatment.

I'm pretty sure Jill has posted stuff tagging this particular woman before about products. I think even pre-pandemic. I doubt she is just passing stuff on to Jill out of the goodness of her heart, but I am less sure if Jill is aware of that herself.

Maybe Derick is worldly enough to see that Jill is being recruited. Maybe not.

I'm not convinced that Derick has the sharpest radar for seeing when he's being used himself.

it seems jill has been friends with this person for quite a while - since they moved into the new house it seems. the person also sometimes brings Jill coffee etc. Can't remember if she is the friend that has the boys that went to the library with Izzy and Sam pre pandemic. I know she has given Jill product before and we have speculated she was being recruited, but it has been a long time and Jill isn't shilling yet. Maybe she knows it would be too much work or maybe, just maybe, her therapists really did help her learn to set good boundaries.

I mean, but she kind of is, though. I just can't figure out if she knows that and this is a little arrangement she and Rachel have settled on or if she just naively thinks Rachel is super magnanimous by constantly plying her with products.

true - I didn't think of it that way. Jill puts the product name out there to her million followers without actually being in the MLM game, whether that actual helps her friend sell anything or not, who knows

So is proactiv. Presumably the high cost of the product is the motivation to use it consistently. But, as you said, the Walmart generic acne treatment cream is the same thing. Remember your thrifty roots, Jill!

And using it consistently is why it works. If the generic stuff came with fancy step by step instructions that became part of a 'beauty routine', everyone would have more money in their pockets.

Not one of the Duggars have become involved with an MLM scheme. Either because you have to shell out some money first, or because it was the TTH lesson plan right after bankruptcy.

I think Rachel might live in Jill's neighborhood, because Jill mentioned her sweet friend and the product shortly after moving into their house.

That's a good point about her possibly being a neighbor. I'd assumed she was a friend from church, but I think you are right about her seeming to crop up only after they had moved.

I think Jill is the only Duggar who actively tries to get people to go to church.  It's interesting in that for all the Duggar's ministering, they rarely try to include people in their worship.

The thing about MLM is that it's very insidious and people get sucked in without realizing that it's MLM. They're often given some free samples and asked if they want to make some sales.

MLMs are evil.  But Jill's known this woman for years and has yet to become part of the group. I guess she realizes a cult when she sees one.  I'm sure her sweet friend is dying to get her hands on Jill's followers, but she also seems to be there for coffee drops and kid things.  So, it seems to be a consistent friendship, not based on getting Jill to shill.  Hey, that rhymes!

I like Jill's approach "Join us for church".  Just letting people know it is available. And leaving it at that.   No "saving" someone in the laundromat" or in a parking lot.  No goals on how many souls she will save this week/month/year.  No bragging about the number of people she "saved".  No feeling superior over others. There are probably people who would enjoy "attending" church in this way.

I'm not religious at all but I found her post about "join us and we'll sit together" refreshing. I think that was pre-Covid.  It's less showy than her parents Television proselytizing but if it a follower was curious about church but afraid to go alone, it's a nice offer.  I have friends that share their church's online services and it's a nice way to be inclusive without being aggressive.  I don't think I would want to discuss religion with Jill but part of being a Christian is  sharing your faith.  At least she's not aggressive about it.

It's entirely possible Jill's part in the skincare thing is just posting about it online a kickback/more free stuff and doesn't intend on actually selling anything herself. If anyone DM's Jill "where do you get it?" she'll probably forward her friends contact.

Much as I hate to not snark here, I'm 101% with Jill about buying photo frames at thrift stores and yard sales.

I think she overdid it by posting a gazillion photos about the photos, so I can snark a little after all. Heh.

IMO frames are actually a smart buy used, so I think Jill is onto something.  I've bought some gorgeous frames at estate sales over the years for $2.   I've gotten so many compliments on them and have friends and family ask me to definitely pick them up one if I ever see another like whatever one is their favorite.   They're really well-made and not the type of thing you find in stores today at any price.

Except for shoes, I think Jill is really smart about her thrifting.  Getting DD a new wardrobe for work is going to be expensive, and you can get a lot of great things at a thrift store, especially suit jackets and button down shirts.  That seems to be the one and only thing that Michelle taught her kids that seemed to be somewhat smart.  (But not shoes!  Never shoes!!)

Holy cow! How many family pics did she put in that one room? At least five. And I’m sure there are more down the hall and over the bed. 😳

Jill needs Jana to help her with decorating. Not that she’s a professional, but help is definitely needed in that department.

I never thought about getting frames at thrift stores. I could use a new one for my son's graduation picture, my husband broke it.

In Jill's defense (what's in the water today??), most of these screenshots were from Instagram stories, which automatically disappear after 24 hours. For that reason I generally have more tolerance for people overdoing it in their stories as opposed to actual posts, where it can sometimes result in a more cluttered feed.

Plus that seems to be a common MO on Instagram (more ''oversharing'' and such in stories as opposed to doing that in posts).

She does have one Instagram post about the picture frames (as seen in one of @BigBingerBro's screenshots), but it only has one picture.

Jill loves to preserve memories. Remember her wedding bouquet in the bathroom 🤮? Girlfriend needs to rein in her desire to put stuff everywhere. Or her house will resemble Jillzilla and HUNKYLISIOUS barn.

Hee!  Durweed is marginally better looking than Jilldo's "hunk."  I just hope Jill D doesn't put an upholstered chair in her bathroom(s.)
