Ever since Amy was old enough to know that she could cash in on the Duggar name, that's exactly what she's done. And here she is doing it again. I don't see Amy as any great 'support' for Jill. Not in a true loving and protective way.

I do feel bad for BIn having to try to "teach" it now, though. The moods and distractedness of all the kids must be horrible. And he probably has no idea what he could or should or is allowed to say or do. No way in hell he could either keep them on task or have a meaningful conversation of any kind, I'd bet.

What about Anna's kids? Is she teaching them separate from their aunts and younger cousins? Meredith and Spurgeon are close in age.

That would be interesting to know.  I wonder if she is still home schooling her own.  They showed her with her teaching materials early on, and her children did get to go to an actual library (once) when they were living near DC.  I wonder if Anna allows her children to use the computer.  I think that is probably the extent of "school" at the TTH.

Other than what they showed of Ben "teaching" a math lesson on the show, it's really hard to say just what he did/does. I imagine he's still teaching....12-2 sounds about right. 😁

Glad to see Joy spending time with Jill. She has been commenting on Jill's instagram and Jinger too but maybe she always was.  Joy must be having all kinds of emotions come up and she needs her "mother" and protector.  Take that JB, your control is slipping away.

Anyone else find it odd that Jessa never posts about her outings with Jill? Actually, now that I think about it, Jessa rarely posts about time spent with any siblings. So maybe its less about Jill and more about Jessa.

And why no "miss you" hashtag for Jinger? I get that she's in CA, but still they could "miss" her too.

I wonder what Jill's sisters think of her, especially the sisters closest to her in age versus the younger ones still at home.  Do they see Jill taking steps outside of what Blob and Meech taught them growing up, and notice that not only does Jill seem happier and lighter, but that nothing horrible has happened to her as a result of wearing pants and sending her kids to public school?  Or do the sisters double-down on how they were raised and look at Jill as the black sheep whom they must not follow?

My instincts tell me that Jana would be the one to look at Jill with the most scorn, and possibly Jessa.  But I'm hoping that the younger girls will start to take steps to find their own identities outside of being a number and a name that starts with "J."

Jana is one that I can't figure out. On the one hand, she was shown to question a few of the Duggar backward beliefs and also shouldered most of the sistermom discipline duties. Jana was also 'closest' to Jill, and her best friend Laura, has one foot in the real world.

One the other hand, Jana has the most to lose showing any kind of allegiance and support to Jill because she is still dependent on JB.

It's always possible that Joy texted Jill, "wanna have lunch?" and Jill texted back "sure," and the absence of any other person has no significance. Sure, Jana's under JB's headship and all. But it's quite possible that one young woman just wanted to spend a little time with one of her sisters and there's much more to it, no matter how hard you squint when trying to read the tea leaves. 🙂

If Anna's kids' normal routine was schooling with the rest of the TTH bunch I hope they still are.   The situation is very traumatic for the kids and they need any other bonds they have right now to remain solid for them.

Judging from that terrible sermon he made his preschool boys sit and listen to before heading to the beach, I'd say you're totally right!

In the past years I have been ultra judgy about Jill (and all the Duggars).  I have to say seeing these photos of normal Jill and fam are so refreshing.  She looks so happy.  She looked to be really struggling for awhile and in a much better place.

My only thought on that is that perhaps Jana was supposed to join them and had to cancel at the last minute. I'd post a miss you for that, but not for someone who was never supposed to be at the lunch in the first place.

I don't tend to get that vibe from Amy, but I'm in the minority. I think Jill found someone she's known her entire life that understood why she wasn't happy with the family and they bonded.  Amy seems to have settled into a life she enjoys, with the store and her family.  She and Jill (and husbands) seem to enjoy spending time together.  I think Amy was one person who encouraged Jill to do her own thing. 

It's nice to see them celebrating Mary at Braums.  I wish I was close enough to Braums to do the same.  It should be mandated that Braums needs to be nationwide.

I remember losing my 1st tooth at the same age and I think I got a doughnut instead of pizza.  Memories.

I was watching a clips of when Josie was a newborn...and Jill was like her 2nd mom..and I knew she had the potential to be a good mom.

And so far, I'm seeing a happy family.  And little Samuel has a 4th b day in July along with Derek's bar exam.

And back in the day, my friend worked ar a department store as a walking mannequin.  He would wear clothes found on the racks and would walk around in them.  Changed once an hour...he made good money.

So I see Jill is doing the 2021 version of that.

She’s always been this way, too. I’ve never warmed to her. Cancer is bad at all, but it is ultimately a sob story, and something she threw in the face of people who have lost someone close to them with cancer.
