Oh gosh on line shopping is so much easier. I give her idiot self a pass. I am retired. I don’t mind grocery shopping and have been known to try local first.  But I get tired of all that time in the car looking for something. It has been unreliable for me to call a store and ask if they have something. Wasted trip. I keep a cart going - saves my gas and energy. I know other issues exist.

Until recently, no, she wasn't encouraged/allowed to read anything but the Bible and simple, inoffensive children's books and her only peers were her siblings. Her mother taught her to cook from canned food or to buy frozen crap and warm it up. She wasn't allowed to watch TV and probably still doesn't outside of children's programs. The TV program she grew up making was completely scripted and probably had very little resemblance to her life without the cameras. It wasn't until Derick moved her to Danger America that she ever had to deal with life, make a decision, or live without her sibling safety net. Everything is new to her and I don't think she realizes how inexperienced she is at being the adult in charge.

It is convenient but I actually don’t think Jill ever just goes shopping or runs errands on her own. She literally does not know what to do with herself if she’s alone. Not so much her fault, she was raised to never be alone. Girl needs some non Jesus based therapy.  She’s constantly overwhelmed by basic life.

So true and so sad. I admit to having joined in the snark over her being terrified in Danger America when she was home without Derick and heard a noise, and it turned out to be a towel rack falling in the bathroom or something like that.

But as you point out, Jill was well and truly cloistered in her family of origin. NOBODY in that family gets to be alone, whether at home or away. All those years of indoctrination and conditioning can't be wiped away in a flash just because she's married and a mother and no longer under JB's headship.

I can't imagine what ideas the Duggar parents planted in their kids' heads about the rule that you NEVER went ANYWHERE alone. Not even down the road to the grocery store for 15 minutes. NOWHERE. And of course when Joshgate hit we understood the real reason why the Duggar parents created the girls' and boys dorms etc.

So yeah I do snark at Jill but then I also feel sorry for her, having to navigate a world she was never allowed to experience until she got married. And which she has entered with heaven knows what kind of mental programming from her parents. Derick's a jerk but he seems to be navigating his little family in a life style that's much more typical middle class than Duggarworld. I hope he is encouraging Jill to get help with her issues.

It's weird in the bathroom, especially over the bathtub. It would be better as a floaty shelf along a wall in the master bedroom.

Personally I think she should buy (or make, with the help of some family members) a frame and put the bouquet in there. I'm worried about the bouquet dropping.

Based on multiple articles published by the Wall Street Journal over the past year regarding people with either/or You Tube channel subscriptions and Instagram followers,  income depends on the ENGAGEMENT of the followers.  Somebody somewhere has to buy something!!!!!!

Additionally,  the inexpensive ease of buying followers is an increasing concern for any prospective sponsor.  Again, the sponsor wants/needs to make money.  The future of the Duggar level influencer market should be interesting.

Since I don't know how to copy and paste comments from her IG post, I'll quote what someone said to Jill about the dried bouquet on the shelf, and Jill's response:

"You may want to keep the wedding bouquet in a covering otherwise they become super brittle and dusty."

Jill:  "Oh...I didn't know that!  Thanks!"

I'm just stunned at her willful ignorance.  

Another person told her, "Don't put your wedding bouquet in your bathroom.  Put your bouquet in a shadow box for safe keeping.  The shelf is cute but wedding memories don't belong in the bathroom."

That person was rebuked by several other posters and so added this: "Ok ladies calm down..this is MY OPINION...I believe that wedding memorabilia should be displayed for ALL to see.  Having it in their ensuite bathroom is up to them.  But her display isn't suitable as the flowers will get ruined by the moisture.  Hence..."they don't belong in the bathroom".  I adore the Dugger/Dillard families.  Chill out ladies.  It was not meant to be hurtful."
