This chick needs a hobby.

Where do they lock the kids up while they're playing nudie games? 🤮

Hopefully they're in bed asleep.

I need a drink after reading that. I'm pretty sure I lost a couple million brain cells. The whole thing is barf making.  Nobody is having sex that much with no birth control and not getting pregnant, unless they're having fertility problems.

The thought of having sex with Dillweed makes me gag.

Because he always has to be vague, but it sounds like they are practicing some form of family planning.

Came here to post this too! I nearly fell out of my chair. I know we've done this before, but is their god so puny that he can't figure out how to get around a condom, IUD, or "rhythm method/natural family planning"? I would think if their all-powerful god wanted them to have a blessing, nothing could stop it. So, either they're actively rejecting god's blessings, or their god is thwarted by a few millimeters of latex or two idiots looking at the calendar. I'm not impressed.

There are a lot of Christians who are fine with most forms of birth control, and Cathy is obviously one.  Different forms of birth control work in different ways, and they are fine with the forms where the egg never comes into contact with sperm like condoms or most forms of hormonal birth control.  Devices like IUDs that prevent implantation are verboten because they believe live begins when the sperm meets the egg.  They are also against the morning after pill because it can prevent implantation depending on where in her cycle the woman is.

Soooo, Derdick saw how much web traffic Jill's post got so he made a man version with pretty much the exact same stuff.

It's all freaking ridiculous but not allowing each other to be in the same room as someone of the opposite sex is the most insecure thing I've ever heard. So, what if his woman professor wants to have a one on one talk with him? Is he going to request a chaperone or ask that she leave the door open to prove they didn't get it on in her office?

Jilly sounds like the type of woman who flashes her wedding ring at any guy that approaches her. They need to chill, it's not like they resemble Brad and Angelina.

Their relationship is just sad. I believe they are on birth control, which makes them huge liars because they said they would leave the number of children up to god.

Not going to lie, professors making sure someone else is aware of a one-on-one meeting with a student is sound policy.  Some conversations do need to happen without a chaperone, but the professor keeping the door cracked, or alerting a secretary that they are alone with a student don't seem that far-fetched to me.

Yeah, it's actually a good practice.  It's sad, but it can take one allegation for your career to be ruined.  I used to be a high school teacher, and we were told years ago to never meet with a student alone unless the door to the classroom was wide open.  This was regardless of the sex of the student and the teacher.

I don't think there is an epidemic of false sexual abuse allegations against teachers, but they can happen so teachers take a lot of precautions because you don't want that gossip around town- even if it can be disproven.

There are Southern Baptists (what Derick is) who are fine with all of the above forms of BC just for the record.  Being Christian doesn't mean a person is against any form of birth control.  Being fundie or fundie AND quiverful is another matter entirely.

I'm well aware of that. But we know that JB & Michelle are not that brand of Christian. Their "testimony" about their faith is that they used the pill, and believe their miscarriage after Josh was a punishment for that. (The pill prevents ovulation, so the egg fertilization is not a factor.) When you say "we will have as many children as God decides to give us" it is hypocritical, in my opinion, to attempt to thwart God's "blessings" by actively working against "God's plan" using birth control or NFP.

So no, the Duggars are not "fine" with any method that prevents egg & sperm meeting. The Dillards' embrace of birth control is counter to the Duggar's stated beliefs. But, since Derek is the "headship" Jill lives by his rules. (And as we've noted, he doesn't seem to be very happy in his role as parent.)

From their website: "Then, Michelle went back on the pill, but she conceived and had a miscarriage. At that point they talked with a Christian medical doctor and read the fine print in the contraceptives package. They found that while taking the pill you can get pregnant and then miscarry. They were grieved! They were Christians! They were pro-life! They realized that their selfish actions had taken the life of their child."*

*if you get pregnant while on the pill, it does not cause miscarriage. Even if you accept their objection to birth control that prevents implantation of a fertilized egg, "FDA-approved contraceptive methods are not abortifacients. Every FDA-approved contraceptive acts before
implantation, does not interfere with a pregnancy, and is not effective after a fertilized egg has implanted successfully in the uterus.i
• No credible research supports the false statement that birth control causes miscarriages." That's from the official ACOG statement.

So, bringing this all the way around, the Duggars do not believe in any method of birth control whatsoever. The Dillards' embrace of birth control is a deviation from that belief, but I guess they think that's cool since Derek is the boss.

It is absolutely the best practice, and often but not always also practiced at law firms. The thing is, if Derek does this "never meet another woman alone" thing, it essentially makes practicing law impossible. Plenty of times you need to meet with a client/lawyer/etc. privately and confidentially. No client is going to pay for 2 lawyers to sit there so one can babysit the other. If he has a female client, having a male friend or relative of hers sit in as chaperone is impossible because it destroys attorney-client privilege, not to mention is evidence of an inability to make sound decisions and think critically. No firm or client would put up with that.

I was talking about Derick and SBC members quite obviously NOT about Jim Bob and Michelle as I was making a difference between SBC and fundie/quiverful.

That is Derick responding and not Jill.  Derick did not come from a quiverfull family like the Duggar daughter-in-laws, so we know he has been exposed to different theology.  The real question is--how on board with this decision is Jill?  Every time one of the Duggar girls deviates from JB and Michelle's teachings, we are quick to say it was the husband's doing.  Is Derick exerting his authority as headship in family planning matters, or was this a mutual decision?

As to being a lawyer with his rules about being alone with the opposite sex, only time will tell.  We currently have a vice president who also shares this view, so maybe it is not as limiting as us heathens imagine.

My high school teacher nephew says it is SOP to have someone else present when meeting with any student.  He also coaches and says things like positioning a player or anything that involves touching a player have to be done with care.

The reason that teachers and coaches have that practice is quite different from the idiot Dillards.  Teachers, etc. wish to protect themselves from unfounded accusations and prevent the need to defend themselves from such.  The idiot and Jill don't trust each other and apparently themselves.  They think they are capable of being overcome with lust and will start fucking random people of the opposite sex if given the chance.

ETA  It's really hilarious if you think about it.  It's like a cliche porn situation: a repairman comes to the house; Jill throws herself on the floor, spread-eagle...  It seems that's what they are afraid may happen.

I was referring to his supposed lawyer rule, not their personal life.  If I missed the point, wouldn't be the first time!

I don't get it. They preach and say they take this moral high road, but then need to put all these rules and services in place to keep them moral.

How about cheating is hurtful and wrong. Don't do it.

Anyway, between the constant sex, praying, talking and watching videos (nevermind raising their children), when would they have a chance to even ponder the attractiveness of another human?

If Derick wrote this, I'll . . . -- well, I don't believe that he did:

Regularly discuss ways you can help each other feel more secure in your relationship and then do it! For example, it is really important to both of us that we have some kind of internet filtering service on our phones and laptops, so we decided to pay for a monthly Covenant Eyes filtering subscription and also limit some accessibility on our devices to help us be accountable to each other. We also share our social media passwords with each other. Another thing we purpose to do is to never be alone in the same room with someone of the opposite gender. Sometimes this is hard and requires more intentionality. For example, if I have a private meeting with a female, I may choose to leave the door open, or if Jill needs a repairman to come work on something at the house when I’m gone then she might invite a friend over while he’s there. We realize though that safeguards alone aren’t enough…it is more about the heart and commitment to purity, but they may be helpful in reducing the prevalence of some situations, or even just the appearance of evil.

This is just another example of their insufferable need to "teach" their followers about all sorts of things they know nothing about. It looks to me like Jill and Derick are much happier now than they were a couple of years ago -- which is great, but "we've hat two good years out of five, so listen to us" doesn't really resonate with me. If they were to post something like "we had some problems early on in our marriage and these are some of the things we did that have helped us to reconnect." That might be human and relatable. Instead, we have two people who seem to be "getting along a little bit better" giving marriage advice. Just insufferable.

Jill said sex 3-4 times a week, he’s saying 5-6 as a good place to start.

So do they check with each other or what?  Seems like a lack of communication happened.

If that's his starting point, where do they go from there? Maybe he's working up to several times/day...

Now we know why he needs a home office. 🙄

Point of information:  The IUD doesn't prevent implantation.  That is old and inaccurate information.  Research has shown that women who conceive while an IUD is in place is no more likely to have failure to implant than anyone else.  The fact is that most fertilized eggs fail to implant.  Current thinking is that the IUD sets up a milieu within the uterus that decapacitates sperm, making them unable to fertilize an egg.  Sort of a fancy spermicide.

There has always been a misconception about IUD's and how they work.  They do NOT interfere with eggs that are already fertilized.

Yeah, that misconception runs deep in the "pro-life" community.   I also know that they do not understand how the morning after pill works especially when the woman has not ovulated yet.  I used to work for Walgreens in the pharmacy in a college town.  The CVS across the street refused to stock because the pharmacist was pro-life and it prevents implantation.   We just stocked more and raked in the money.  Like seriously raked in the money.   The markup on that is ridiculous around 20 bucks a unit.

I wonder what Derick will do should he need to travel for work - conference, training, client meeting etc.  Most companies are  not going to be happy if wifey tags along every time or If he refuses to travel with a female co-worker.

So Derick slept in her room at the hospital every night  she was there after both C-sections? Seriously?  Most fathers want to go home and get a decent night sleep before the baby comes home.

Maybe, and I wouldn't fault them for it. Many hospitals are doing away with nurseries and strongly encouraging rooming in with your baby (sometimes giving no other options) even after a c-section.  So when you've just been cut open, still have a catheter, and are on some hefty medications, having another adult there becomes nearly a necessity.

After my last birth, my husband couldn't stay (other kids to take care of) and the nurses only took the baby to the nursery because I had lost too much blood and wasn't allowed to hold him yet. He was the only baby there that night; I was not the only c-section that day.

There are many things wrong with these people, but that I can't judge them for.
