Jill & Derick Dullard: Counting On (Donations)

Recommended Posts

When I see a jumpsuit in a color like gray or navy, I can't help but see coveralls.  I expect Jill to be getting ready to change the oil in the family car.  Very few women can pull off the coverall looks and Jill is no Kate McKinnon.

Blender Muffins (gluten free, dairy free)

Feb 25, 2019 | Recipes | 0

A few years ago we were on a gluten free, sugar free, dairy free diet for awhile and I found this recipe online (I can’t remember where…there are several similar ones!) and we loved them. We have made them with several different fruits added. I made them the other day with blueberries and coconut as the added fillers and the boys loved them!

2 medium bananas (if using frozen, it might add a little to your cooking time!)

1 cup peanut butter

2 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract

2 T. honey

1/2 t. baking soda

1 t. apple cider vinegar

1/2-1 cup fruit and/or nuts (e.g. diced apples, blueberries, coconut, raisins, dates, etc.) *optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend everything, except optional fruit/nuts, until smooth. Add fruit and pulse or just stir for a min. Pour into greased muffin tin (3/4 full). ** Bake 15-20 min. Let cool. Enjoy! Makes one dozen very moist muffins!

**Sometimes muffin cup papers, don’t work very well with this no flour recipe, so I’ve found that greasing the pan works the best.

Who is we? Was this when they were courting or after Michelle called them fat?

This "recipe" sounds vile. Peanut butter and banana frittatas, anyone?

I know.  Why not just make a smoothie with some almond milk?

I have made “pancakes” with  just two ingredients: mashed banana and a beaten egg. They’re...okay. I’m not a big egg fan, and these taste really eggy. They were not a hit in my house, but I think of them as being popular with the toddler crowd.

Nonetheless, I have made a lot of dairy-free and sugar-free recipes, and Jill’s recipe doesn’t spike my interest in the slightest. I can’t picture the texture. Well, I can, and it makes me shudder. Like @Ohiopirate02 said, why even make “muffins?” Just make eggs and a smoothie.

I wonder if they did this diet when Derick was gaggy? Or maybe this is why he was gaggy?

Might have done it when Izzy was born.  If he was colicky Jill would have been recommended to cut allergens out of her diet while BFing.

It’s one of those recipes that the ingredients separately sound pretty good, but seeing the finished product just turns you off from eating forever.

Wait...don't Campbell's Soups have dairy? I mean..."cream of..." would imply milk. I call BS, unless the diet was like a weekend. There is no way Jill could prepare food long term without canned soup. I could almost believe gluten and sugar, even though its tough, because this family consumes more gluten in a single meal than I do in a month, and they also put sugar on green beans! No way could they do this diet for a substantial amount of time with Jill's recipes.

Imagine the astronomical levels of dairy and gluten in basically any of her meals! Her main ingredients are Campbell's soups, either tortillas or pasta, and cheese. I fail to see how a gluten / dairy free diet would work! Jessa said she had to eliminate foods with Henry, and I can see that. She's too lazy to even cook bad food, so I'm guessing Bin did it, or she got takeout. Jill...in no way can I imagine.

Fruit also has sugar. Natural sugar, but still sugar. I don't believe for a moment they've even been sugar free, much less gluten and dairy.

I agree. My feelings get hurt, and I am actually sad every time clothes are condemned for looking old or “old lady like.” One of my otherwise favorite shows, Project Runway, does this all the time. I would so much rather they discribed the clothes as dowdy or frumpy. Which some of Jill’s are, by the way.

I agree that terminology could be a bit more kind.  I think ugly, dowdy, frumpy are better terms for ill fitting or ugly clothes.   Thank god designers saw that women of a certain age still want to buy clothes and look sexy/cute/fashionable.  Some clothes may be too youthful for some or more mature for some for example some evening dresses would look silly on a 20something while a dress from Forever 21 would look silly on me at 50.  TLC is bringing back While You Were Out so WHY can't they bring back What Not To Wear?  It was so educational!  Jill needs Clinton and Stacy in her life.

Jill needs three feet cut off of her hair and an intense hair mask. Jill needs to “partner” with some cosmetic company who will gift her some eye cream. There’s no reason why someone her age should look so damn old.

THIS!  It isn't because I think she is wrinkly (although she has the eye wrinkles of someone older than her age) it is because this needs to be started early!  A good moisturizing habit as early as possible!  I even use face moisturizer on my chest so it doesn't get super wrinkly.  Also, drink water.  As an ex hairdresser I would love to get at her hair with some shears.  But she is trying.  She is just learning a bit more slowly than Jinger and a bit faster than Jessa.

Oh, the lighting!

I actually like the first top on her. It seems to be the right size for her. But that second top just seems way too big!

ETA: I wonder if Jill shilling clothing products is kind of betraying Amy, since she also has a (potentially competing?) clothes business.

Agreed. Nasty lighting.

The first top may be the best fitted thing we've seen Jill wear lately, or maybe ever. Wrinkled, and IMO the color does Jill no favors, but it fits.

The second thing is just - trashy. Seriously, there seems to be about an acre of fabric in that shapeless wrinkled - what? t-shirt? sweatshirt? You can see a load of fabric weighing down the garment from the back, behind Jill's arm. I assume it's the bad lighting, but there even seems to be some kind of stain on the lower front of the garment toward Jill's right side. A trash bag with holes cut for arms and head, wouldn't be a worse-fitting garment than that top, and it might not wrinkle as badly.

The blinds are open people the blinds are open! do you think this was done just for that picture to 'help' with the lighting and then firmly shut again, before their poor little men saw the light, and thought of means of escape?

At least these are better than the gray jumpsuit! I'll never find an article of clothing to top that hideousness IMO. Everything was wrong with that! At least these are bland, boring clothes you could see on someone on the street and just keep on walking past them. That gray jumpsuit would stand out in a bad way!

Pretty bad that I literally like them because they're so boring and bland that they would just blend in instead of stand out for being horrific. I do agree with the poster above that the first one is the most fitted thing we have ever seen on Jill!

Here's a tip, Jilly. You might want to take the time to iron those clothes before you model them for the company that's compensating you to advertise for them. #mediocre #nobrains 🙄

I agree, she is in desperate need of an iron. That first top isn't too bad. And the gray top, while looking comfy, is too big for her.

Could be the reason she’s not keeping “ sponsors”.  She makes them look bad ...

The yellow blouse matches her drapes and walls.  Now she can blend into the background without ever leaving her house!

Those drapes actually have a "Sound of Music" playclothes vibe to them.  Too bad Jana is the family seamstress, not Jill.  Jana could probably whip up a ruffled frumper in no time that's more flattering to Jill.

Derelict's IG pic showed up in my feed this morning. He replied to someone asking about his braces, noting that it's been nearly four years and that the surgeon basically fucked up. He said that it's "hard" to bring everything back to where it should be. So yeah, he blames the surgeon.

I'm  betting he used the Fundiest. Wouldn't want to risk using a well educated, experienced surgeon who performs dozens of these surgeries each week. He/she might be gay, transgender or gasp....not a follower of jesus.

Maybe Dr. Fed has a cousin who does dental surgery cheap?

This has always been a grip of mine--fold marks.  I hate it on "decorating" shows, also.  How many times have I seen new curtains hung, complete with the fold lines from the package.  Irons don't bite--really!  At least run items through the dryer with a damp cloth.  Or use a steamer.
