Jessa, Ben and Their Brood: Making a (Diaper) Mountain out of a Mold House

Message added by Scarlett45

The Duggars post about politics on social media frequently, but these social media posts are not an invitation to discuss politics here in this forum. This rule extends to Duggar adjacent families, friends, associates etc. Such discussions are a violation of the Politics Policy.

I understand with recent current events there may be a desire to discuss certain social media postings of those in the Duggar realm as they relate to politics- this is not the place for those discussions. If you believe someone has violated forum rules, report them, do not respond or engage.

Tarzan Is I think a reference to wearing around nothing but a pair of underwear, as if they were Tarzan’s loincloth.

Also, Daylon?  Please just stop. I’m a little curious if that’s a boy or a girl.

Jessa would’ve named a girl twin Icee

The male twin of a girl named Polly Esther?

Seriously. I saw Daylon on the wall and figured she had some kind of word "art" that listed the brand names of synthetic fibers.

Boy

Sierra's kids, in birth order, are Khai, Daylon, Asher, Ellyn, Edyn, and Brooks. Only Ellyn and Edyn are girls. Not sure how Asher lucked out with a relatively normal name without an extraneous y or otherwise kreative spelling. Can't wait to see what she names #7.

Clearly the Social Media consultant paid a visit to HRH Jessa.  First, suddenly  pics of her newest little one appear after questions about the lack of pics.

Yet,  now this complete debacle!  From bottom to top ....epic fail.

Why is she standing, um....the way she's standing? I was going to try to describe it but it's indescribable.....

And what on earth is on her feet? Are those socks? Clodhopper shoes like MOTY wears?

I would have never expected Jessa to attend the Jillbilly school of bad modeling.  Clearly she must have failed Squint Into the Sun class, but she's determined to get extra credit for the worst Duggar shoes ever.  When we said we wanted to see more closed toe shoes instead of sandals, this wasn't the look we were talking about.  She might need to go back to Barefoot & used to be pregnant class with Joy.  (sorry Joy)

I pulled this up off the internet:

That means someone with 100,000 followers might start around $1,000 per sponsored post, while an influencer with 1 million followers could charge $10,000. And some experts called that conservative. “If you only do one a month you'remaking $100,000 a year.

They must be making more off of this than I would ever have imagined. This actually makes me kind of angry -- they're exactly the sort of people who believe that poor people deserve to be poor because "they don't work hard enough" and yet they loll around all day, create these awful posts, and make money for nothing.

Followers can be bought.  Compensation is much more complicated.   And these little clothing companies don't have that level of marketing money.  The Duggars are getting free clothes.

The good news is that it varies a lot, though. A lot of people aren't getting this big money. For one thing, you have to be advertising companies with a lot of money to get a lot of money. And by and large they aren't.

And many companies are getting more leery of handing out money and goodies to people, including celebs, whose posting about businesses is random and not generally related to food or fashion or whatever the business niche is. The randomness and lack of focus of the Duggs'-and-adjacents- posting may also mean that this gravy train won't run forever either and that they may not be pulling in much more than free lunches from most of their posting. Probably does mean this, in fact.

They're also generating numbers.....So if over time it becomes clear that your posts aren't bringing in actual business, your "influence" will lose its value and they'll notice. ..... A lot of this is going to depend on whether leghumpers are inspired to buy. And they may be......Hard to tell -- since I don't really find anything aspirational about the Duggarling women.....But obviously some people do.

JustFab is big....one place I looked at said it's a $600-million-plus biz. So if leghumpers are buying, Jessa may be pulling in big dollars here, despite her lack of modeling skills, decent lighting, consistent posting and apparent enthusiasm for their products.

I agree that they have to produce sales to make good money.  I wish I could find a post from a different forum written by a finance guy right after the college admission fraud story broke, that explained the influencer compensation issue. Very complicated.  When I have some time, I'll try again and post it in the small talk thread.

Another interesting read is how easy followers are accumulated and churned between influencers.

Finally, I read an article this week suggesting the influencer market is close to a crash similar to the dot com crash.  Too many influencers and not enough sales.

Justfab is kind of known for shoes, too.  .... Not after this.

I agree that the outfit is awful, but her body looks great considering the fact that she’s had 3 kids in a relatively short amount of time, with one of them being delivered just a couple of months ago.

God, I hope so. It’s a bullshit “job” and the sooner it crashes and burns the better.

May her porn career go just as well.

As was already posted, Octomom: home alone, a masturbation movie, is her only credit. Im sure Jessa: Counting On 19 Orgasms will keep her in hideous clothes for a few months after the TLC checks stop.

I meant to comment on this earlier, but the phrase "Tarzan his underwear" is a new one on me and made me envision them trying to swing on it like a vine. Or like a really weird euphemism for shitting your pants. LOL

I guess the most logical explanation probably is, as suggested above, that it means he's running around in his underwear and nothing else. But since I was a 90s kid who watched way too much George of the Jungle, I'd call that a buttflap or just, you know, running around in your tighty whities. 😆

A bit blurry because it’s from a video. So far, Lauren and Josiah, Jill, Michelle, and now Jessa, have gone to this sale.

So much for the gender neutral clothing.

I watched the entire video. Jessa stuffs poor Spurgie in just-bought clothing that is already almost too small. We're not even half way through September and the coat she bought him barely fits.

Jessa must have PTSD from Josie wearing the Golden Girls hand-me-downs all this years.

Yep. Although I've noticed people usually call them wheat berries.

They are an integral part of a traditional Polish Christmas Eve dessert called Kutia. Soak, then boil them until tender, chill, then combine with honey, heavy cream, poppyseeds, sliced almonds and raisins. Yum!

The new "modern modest" is a skirt fitted tight enough to show your butt crack, but no worries, an odd bulky jacket, support hose, & orthopedic shoes are added for distraction.

I think the pained expression is from a too tight girdle - let that sucker go & breathe, Jessa...

Man, Ben has reached peak hipster with that temporary mustache. LOL

Also, I read between the lines of that post that, though Jessa claims she liked the beard, that she was getting pissy about how much upkeep it required. Just a hunch.

I bet she was upset with the time and money Ben used to keep up the beard.  But my brother has a beard and does not spend that much time on it.  He does need to buy products for it,  but nothing too expensive.   Ben probably was spending  10-15 minutes on it daily.

Yeah I was actually wondering about that. I had an ex-boyfriend who had a really epic beard--people used to stop him on the street to compliment him on it--and we never discussed logistics (didn't live together, so I never saw the maintenance up close and personal), but I don't recall him spending hours locked in a bathroom tending to it. I know he had to use some products but again it was not an epic ordeal for him to take care of it.

I think she got jealous of the beard, so the narrative has become that it was too expensive/too time consuming.

Ben's beard goes bye bye.

I like the mustache.  Ben is young, he should be playing with different looks.  Instead he is the father of three and who knows how many more to come.  I really wish he and Jessa would stop with the three they have.  It's a manageable number and the kids seem to be doing well.  I do miss his beard.  But then I'm a beard fan.
