Why do all these women want full D's? They are huge on most women. I have D's and would kill for C or even a B. They make me look fatter than I am. The lady in the last ep wanted D and now the lady in next weeks ep wants D too. I am flummoxed.

The butt thing really didn't seem all that wacky of a surgery.

I agree. Seems like they fixed it pretty easily (despite all the "drama" during surgery). It's too bad she couldn't have had it fixed years ago. She seems kind of fragile and damaged at this point.

I think Addie had more issues than the butt problem. Unless you are naked in a lit room or wearing a bikini, no one is going to see your butt. Of course she would be sensitive about it and want it fixed, but I find it hard to believe she couldn't go on dates because of it. If the guy with the real crooked and large nose could find someone to have a child with, she could find someone too. I'm not trying to make light of her issues., just that there are people out there who would love her for her lovely smile, general good looks and personality and not worry too much about the scars on her behind.

In the shower last night, I was thinking about these stories and what they say about our society and culture. Small sample size, but two of the three "disfigured" men have/had spouses and/or children. Four out of five of the women have NOT. And one of the women had only a janky TOE.

Chew on that a while.

I'm getting tired of the doctors going over and over the "tell me how you were bullied" "that must have been very hurtful, correct? Tell me how you were hurt." "Did that ruin your life? Tell me how your life was ruined." "Children are cruel, I bet you got teased a lot. What kind of names did children call you?" etc. etc. We get it, these people have had rough treatment because of issues they had no control over. It sucked. But we don't need them to relive every mean name they were called and how they never went to high school dances or whatever. We can all imagine that just fine without needing to see them bullied by the doctors into reliving it all.

I thought the same thing...at 35, she still thought people were pointing and laughing at her butt, how exactly was it obvious to anyone who didn't see her naked? Which apparently no one has. And yeah, not trying to be insensitive either but unless I'm missing something, her self-imposed isolation seemed a bit extreme. Especially compared to the guy who couldn't exactly hide the obvious deformity on his FACE.

So what does it say? That women are totally more neurotic about their appearance, or that men are more judgmental? I mean c'mon, there just aren't enough supermodels to go around, so at some point, somebody's gonna have to lower their standards.

In short, our society places standards on female "beauty" that just don't exist for men. The fact that Botched (original flavor) exists is proof of that, among a trillion other examples. Us Magazine. Bravo. The Kardashians. TMZ. Exhibits 5 through 945,103,456,023: the internet.

Two of the three male patients on this show had significant facial deformities, but had at some point intimate partners with whom they had children. The third man--chest deformity--also had a wife and child.

Four of the five females (I forgot tubular breasts woman in my previous post) were not intimate at all because of their deformities (the cleft palate/lip twins, toe woman and butt woman).

Well yeah, that's stating the obvious. Not sure I believe these women were all just totally rejected by men because of their "defects" though, IMO that's something in their own heads. Again, I agree it's probably society standards to a certain degree, but still something in their own psyches as well, because let's face it, there are also many less-than-perfect women who manage to find mates despite their "imperfections".

Why were they asking her how she felt about being a twin? Her twin died when she was a newborn, she can't possibly remember anything about it.

The guy's nose looked better, but most of these people don't look as improved as I keep expecting them to, I guess my expectations aren't realistic.

I felt the same way on both topics. I was expecting his nose to be much, much better. And I have seen worse butts. I did roll my eyes when she offhandedly stated that she wanted a butt like J.Lo or Beyonce.

I don't even think she had a true twin, at least not a fully developed twin. It sounded more like something that maybe would have been a twin but didn't really form or grow after a certain point, what I think is called a vestigial twin or parasitic twin. I don't think a fully developed twin is treated like "they just wrapped it up and wouldn't let me [the mom] see what was attached to her." So the whole "did you miss your twin? Did you feel some mystical connection to the dead lost baby?" line of questioning may have been doubly ridiculous.

Yeah, that was really dumb. None of us remember our umbilical cords or anything else that was with us in the womb. She said she used to talk to herself when she was little. I did then, too, and I still do. So do lots of people.

I think there is also an issue with a "flaw" that can be hidden under your clothes and a "flaw" that's right on your face.  With a facial "flaw" you either never leave the house at all or you learn to deal with the world's opinions.  If your "flaw" can be hidden you can develop intense fears of discovery, as clearly so many of these women did.   And hell, as clearly Dr. Nassif did - he didn't want to show his feet on his own plastic surgery TV show!

It's interesting to compare that aspect of it with the other show.  There are people who withdrew from intimacy after having a bad procedure (some of the lipo nightmares, for example) but most often the women especially have had relationships, even gotten married and had children despite having had some really appalling boob and nose job disasters.  Maybe their confidence was already developed before they had surgery, as opposed to those who felt freakish from childhood on.

When Lee said something like "I didnt even realize how different my new nose was until I looked at old pictures" I have to wonder if he too initially thought like what we're saying, basically "thats it"?  When it was said the improvement would be 80% I was expecting a much, much different looking nose.  I thought the best improvement was the guy with the chest deformation.

Regarding the woman with the butt deformity.  I agree with you all that it really wasn't noticeable with clothing on.  Not entirely sure that was really her issue.  I'm thinking she heard about the show and decided to give it a shot.  Not to be harsh, but did anyone else notice she was slightly cross-eyed?

Floaters!

Dr. Nassif acted like he had leprosy when he said he had the same foot issue as the toe lady (I should've paid attention to her name). I wanted him to take off his shoes and show her some gnarled hobbit feet. But I'm guessing he doesn't really have a problem. He said something about his thumbs. They looked like regular ol' thumbs to me.

The restaurant scene was painful. Paul's dream dates who just happened to be sitting nearby could barely scare up a coherent sentence between the two of them.

If you get a chance, look for photos of Dr. Nassif that have close ups of his thumbs. He has the same deformity as Megan Fox, thumbs that look more like big toes. It's really evident in some of the still shots I've seen. So it stands to reason that he might have a deformity on one or both of his feet. The thumb defect is called brachydactyly type-D.

Going on dates would mean that someone could like her and want to take it to the next level.  She was most likely afraid of a negative reaction and/or rejection once her deformity was found out.  She had more than a scar -- she had chunks of flesh missing from her buttocks.

There's a difference between being "less than perfect" and being deformed.  Some of these people were ridiculed since childhood for something beyond their control.  Sometimes if a person hasn't experienced that it is easy to discount the experience of those who have.  I don't have deformities, but I was bullied about certain things that I'm still trying to move past and I'm 36 years old.

Just because it wasn't noticeable with clothes on doesn't mean it didn't exist.  Being embarrassed or ashamed about something isn't just about what other people see or know.

I know people who don't like to have sex when they're overweight.  I can imagine the anxiety she would have over someone discovering her deformity.  It didn't physically prevent her from having sex -- it was psychological.

Why did Terry have to tell the girl with asymmetrical boobs that her bigger boob looked like a potato?  Like she wasn't self conscious enough about them .  I am not a pervert, but I thought the boob looked very nice and shapely.   Then I checked myself for tuberous boobs.

I am a terrible, baby-hating spinster, but I got tired of seeing their baby all up in every shot with her dumb, clowny headbands. This show isn't about you, baby!

Cracked me up!  I hate those headbands!

I was disappointed in the nose reveal, and he seemed like such a nice guy.  I think part of what made it look kind of odd was that they had put very heavy make-up on it (probably to cover the still existing scar).  I know he was an extremely challenging case, I just wish he'd had a better outcome.

In general, I tend to think all of Dr. Nassif's nose jobs end up looking the same.  Like a tulip.  Kind of a bulbous nose that doesn't show much nostril.  For being the top man in the game, I haven't been that impressed.  Anyone else feel that way?

I guess I'm the odd man out but these two together tend to crack me up and I don't mind the hijinxs.  I like their funny little bromance.

That fake ear was amazing. I couldn't tell where it started and ended. I was wondering if he had the inner ear portion or if the whole shebang was missing.

Because he's obsessed with giving women giant implants? His face lights up like a Christmas tree every time someone says, "I'd like to be a D cup"

I'm thinking all he sees are women who want D cups so that is what comes to mind. A couple of times women said they wanted smaller cups and he gave them that. In regard to the ear: I thought the ear looked realistic but the placement looked weird. The fake ear looked lower and further back than the real ear. Of course his original part of the ear was probably just like that, but it looked a bit odd to me for that reason. I do have questions like; how long does the adhesive hold and can you take a shower or swim with it? Does it ever wear out and stop adhering to the skin? Fascinating stuff and I wish the guy well as well as the teen with the breast issues.

Yes, Charlie's prosthetic ear was placed differently than the one on the other side, but his jaw was uneven, too. It's part of his condition. (Charlie said his diagnosis was Goldenhar syndrome, but Terry said it was actually something else.)

The adhesive used on medical prosthetics is also used in the movies, so I assume it's really strong. As the specialist said it can cause irritation, so you need to remove it every night to let the skin breathe.

I've used medical adhesive to attach fake facial hair.  It is very strong and absolutely clear.  You apply it in a thin layer.  It's better than spirit gum (the old product actors would use) which is thicker, darker and stays gummy.  Medical  adhesive dries.  To remove it, you need a special remover.   You can get it wet without a problem.  I sound like one of those old commercials for toupees.  "Swim in it.  Shower in it.  She'll never know it's not your real" ear!

Her breasts really didn't fit her frame. She would look so much better with something a little smaller. It's sad when almost every woman that comes on this show wants a D or larger even though it doesn't fit their frame. And when they are told that they cannot get that, they get emotional.

I have also noticed that Nassif's nose jobs are not that great. I watched one episode where he sewed the nose back together, and the left nostril was significantly lower than the right. I thought maybe the camera angle was askew, but she healed like that. It was very noticeable to me.

I also like their shenanigans and the bromance aspect of this show.

Remember that it can take a year or so for the swelling on a nose job to go completely down.   I'd wager in a year that the Cajun guys nose looks at least 30% smaller, especially in the glabella area.   Maybe we will get an update.   I thought it was a decent result.

I wonder if the prosthetics guy could help the nose guy, as far as something to fit over his nose, and look nice.
In the post-op show, prosthetic guy came on, and he was wearing another nose over his, and no one noticed.
I hope the Charlie a spare ear, as he said lots of people have them, and some have summer and winter ears, with different skin tones.
The woman who hosted Post-Op was Dubrow's wife, Heather.
These people are new and strange to me, as I've rarely watched E! or Bravo.

I did not really understand - the guy with the missing ear -I assume he wasn't just missing the external ear, but also the internal ear?  They never actually said.

I thought this also.  The prosthetic did look great but it would be weird to walk around with a fake non-functional ear glued to the side of your head all day.  I also thought it might be a better idea for him to be The Singer Songwriter With One Ear which would at least distinguish him from every other wannabe in LA.

Yes, I got that.  I'm sure he was and is self-conscious about his looks since it's not just the missing ear, but the entire asymmetry that goes with Goldenhar's syndrome.  But people with Goldenhar's sometimes have internal ears that don't work properly because they're sealed off and don't have the external ear to direct sound - and sometimes the internal ear didn't develop in the first place either.  I realize this show is about cosmetic surgery and cosmetic results but especially since the guy was a musician, I'd be interested in whether anything could be done to improve the hearing in the blocked ear.

Just watched the episode with the woman with mismatched boobs & the woman whose nose was disintegrating. That poor boobs woman, when they were examining her, you could see the deep trenches on her shoulders from her bra straps. I bet those never go away. Her boobs looked a lot better though. The nose woman's nose did look better, but it kind of looks like someone who has a normal nose & has too many nose jobs.

I don't mean to sound inappropriate, but the outcome of the young woman with lopsided breasts had THE best look I've seen on this or original recipe, like if I ever bit the bullet and got a lift, her after pic would be what I'd want.

I caught the later airing, so I didn't see Botched Post Op and it's not up yet on demand.  Does anyone know if they explained what additional operations the disappearing nose lady had?  She said they ended up having 6 surgeries with Nassif, and I figured one that we saw and one to sever the skin flap dealio, but what were the other 4?  For that matter, I wish either she or Paul discussed that aspect of her surgeries more in depth and just left out the Tiffany/New York segment.

Starina! I loved the follow up, and I hope they do another update next season if she does subsequent surgeries. I thought her husband was a cutie, too. Both husbands tonight were very nice looking and seemed to be nice and supportive. I do worry a bit for the marriage of the blonde breast repair. She's gone a little wheels off ?? Hopefully she's channeling all of that new attention into a super hot sex life with her man.

I thought it was interesting how she had most sexual encounters previous to him while intoxcates. Unfortunately I can totally relate...spent some time with my therapist on that one ?
