I call producer shenanigans.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but Alex wasn't one of Jeffrey's top 2, so why would he pick her now. The obvious answer is to stir up drama in the house, particularly since there won't be any new people in the house.

I'm finding this show kind of boring. i like the Bachelor/Bachelorette much better. On those shows we find out things about the contestants like their jobs, families, how they get along with other contestants. We get to see the contestants go on dates and do all kinds of different things from sky diving to stand up comedy. We get to see hometown dates and travel porn. This show is like Bachelor in Paradise a bit where we see a lot of people sitting on the beach and drinking. I really don't know one person from the next here. I mean I can recognize their faces but couldn't say anything about them.

Alex seems to be featured way more than anyone else. I find her kind of repulsive and was very surprised to find out anyone wants to get to know her better. At this point, all of the couples look really bored and are probably dying to get out of he Villas.

They should keep the ladies who were not chosen at the the villa with the couples for more drama. The guys might find they are attracted to others if they spent more social time, watching them interact.

I was looking forward to this show returning from it's multi-week hiatus, but the producer induced drama with Jeffrey & Alex is over the top.  I can't stand her and hate that she's become the focus of the show.

Waiting patiently for Bachelor in Paradise to start...

This has become the Alex show.  The problem is that I can't stand Alex.  She is extremely annoying.

Jeff was probably told to pick Alex to keep  her on the show.  I don't even remember him talking to her earlier. Obviously she makes a good first impression.  The minute the guys have to deal with her they run screaming.  The other women are all expected to sit around hearing about her feelings and encouraging her.  She is exhausting.  I wanted her to fall out of the boat on the way to the villa.

I LOL'd at Alex telling Jeff she found Tyler icky for telling her to stay and be with Jeff.  Why of course he is icky to you Alex because he is encouraging you to be with someone else which is still affirming that he doesn't want YOU!  So stop blaming Alicia.......he chose her!

Two thoughts: She may feel dirty after that shower scene. This is the way to discredit anything he says about her. Since he's a little creepy = stalkerish.

She he is a piece of work

Such producer led bullshit. No way Alex should be on my screen at this point. Alex is...something is waaaaay off with that chick. Sure she wants to be there with Jeffrey. Suuuuurrrre. Is he a conservative though? I mean, that's her deal breaker so why not ask him before wasting any more time? So stupid.

She's there to stir up trouble. Probably with Tyler/Alicia but maybe with BT as well.

Too bad they couldn't have just ended the show on a good note with the couples that are left.

No fair, no fair. Imari, Taylor, Xavier and Stevey need to be given another chance. Why on earth does Jeff get another chance and the others don't??? I'm mad now.

Yes!  That would have been much better.  Alex is the only one giving them "interesting" footage.  They might have gotten more had they done this.

Alex has a lengthy blog post today where she explained where the sudden Jeff/Alex attraction came from. I'm not sure I buy every word, but when I checked on wikipedia I found it very interesting that the had said YES to these five men: BT (who didn't take her to the villas and she was devastated), Ben (whom she blew up on in the villas), Jeffrey (who did not choose her),  Javier (who chose neither her nor alyssa), and Tyler (who took her to the villas and then chose Alicia). So she HAD gone right for Jeffrey.

Yes, but he didn't pick her so that's where all the confusion comes in and the definite producer shenanigans had to have happened.

I know last week I felt a little bad for Alex.  I don't like anyone's heart being stomped on but my temporary insanity is long over.  She is so annoying.  All she wanted was to be at the Villas and she didn't care how she got there.  The times she was picked she would always say something immediately about going to the Villas.  She was like the little kids who refuse to go to sleep even though they barely can keep their eyes open because they were so afraid they'd miss something.  She's a toddler.

In so many ways.  When Tyler sent her home, she got out of the boat, walked calmly down the pier, then saw the group of girls waiting and threw her head back and started wailing -- just like a toddler who hurts herself but doesn't cry until Mommy walks in.  She demands constant attention and reassurance from the other women and dares to cry about not being chosen in front of others who weren't chosen either! Just like a toddler Alex really thinks she's the center of the universe.

The story she told about Alicia "bullying" her was so exaggerated.  I was disappointed that Dominique was ready to send Alicia a scolding text without even hearing her side of things.  Alex ought to realize that if Tyler really wanted her, no little "back handed compliments" from Alicia would have made any difference to him.

It's so irritating to see those beautiful women sent home while Alex and her loud, over ennunciating mouth gets to stay.

Alex just might be one of the most annoying and manipulative reality show contestants I have ever seen, and that's saying something considering reality show are mostly made up of annoying and manipulative people. My kingdom for reality shows for featuring people who are interesting and likable but I guess we are too busy actually contributing to society.

OHMYGOD. I am almost dont watching the episode and my eyes are rolling like a rollercoaster. I dont believe a WORD out of Alex's mouth. Sorry, but she had NO interest or chemistry with Jeff at all. She's just staying to get airtime. I can totally relate to alicia's sinking feeling. I think Alex was blatantly lying that she doesn't like Tyler anymore. She's there to stir up more drama. ugh.

Oh, and I don't think Jeff is all that. He was being rude and condescending to Kristin. He was clearly in break-up mode and wasn't even listening to her.

2 episodes left! I hope we get some sort of reunion show or a 'where are they now" followup. I really like this cast.

The six girls and the four guys who ended up with nothing should really come back on Season 2 :D

Alex is... a lot. I don't think she understands how she comes across -- in person and on-screen. I also read her blog, and I think it was unfair of her to admit that yes, she wanted Alicia to back off because she didn't believe that Alicia would date Tyler in real life. At the end of the day, Alicia walked right for him, wanted to go to the villa with him, and clearly, was ready to get to know him. Just because she wasn't jumping all over him doesn't mean that she wanted him any less than Alex.

Very very interesting afterbuzz recap. Ben is on, as is Dominique. Ben is explaining how the Lisa/Michelle swap came to be. Fascinating.

I agree.  I hated her when she confronted Alicia, basically telling her that when you choose a guy, you should be thinking of happy-ever-after and babies.  REALLY?   How about starting with "he seems nice, I'd like to get to know him."  You don't fall in love FIRST, then date.

Reading her blog, I hater her more.  But I'm annoyed when people write things like:

  • Sometimes things bother me that in hindsight probably shouldn’t of
  • drama between Alicia and I

That was just the first paragraph.

Her complete turn-around with Tyler was bizarre.  She went from wanting to marry him to being creeped out by him, for no reason at all.

I wonder how Jeff feels about Alex after having watched her swoon over BT and throw herself at Tyler.  Does he still feel Alex is so "sweet" after saying she's 100% bangable?

I think Jeff wanted to extend his vacation, and was given the chance to do so on the condition that he said he wanted to partner up with Alex.

Alex is the kind of high-energy girl who seems like she would be fun.   And then, after 5 minutes with her, you realize that the "energizer bunny"  from the commercial was selling the idea that "it keeps going and going and going", and DOES NOT STOP OR SLOW DOWN - EVER!

Alex SO went to college for her MRS degree. I will bet friends of hers succeeded and that this has driven her crazy.

Not only was it direct producer intervention to break/change the rules to keep the Drama Queen in the Villas but how about him suddenly having flowers and chocolates produced just off-screen like he'd had time to go to town (like none of them have had if they don't go together) and pick them up just for the occasion. It really left me with just a giant eyeroll like they wanted us to think that he'd spent all his time just dreaming of Alex and at the very last second his dreams came true. Look how in love with her he is with the candy and flowers!! Makes me want to wretch. The show was going along well until this last eppy. Ugh.

I have a real problem with non-bullied people claiming to be victims of bullying when they don´t get their way. It happens a lot on reality tv shows, funnily enough, where it´s plain to see through the lies. And wow, Dominique just jumped on it, didn´t even ask if it was true or not. She shouldn´t have gotten involved at all but just asking what Alex´s story was about should have been her first move. I can´t stand Alex, but I thought she was great until she had her first meltdown, so I understand where her good first impressions come into play. Alicia has annoyed me from the start and I guess Alex has enough sense to get offended by Alicia´s big sister talk, but still, comparing the two just makes Alicia seem so much nicer than Alex in every way.
