I simply don't believe that Jinger wants a more private life.   She may occasionally feel intruded on, but most of the time just eats up the attention.  I'm sure it suits the image she wishes to have, to be modest and not a famewhore.  She is not a good enough actress to be faking all the smiles and mugging for the camera.

What would these idiots do if they didn't have an audience to perform for?

I am going to have to play the world's tiniest violin for people too lazy to get real jobs who still want money. I do think the Duggar kids probably don't realize how toxic and pathetic the way they use social media is, but I'm not particularly sympathetic to them whining about being famous when most of them actively cultivate it even when they don't have a show to promote.

Isn't that by definition, a hypocrite?  I totally agree.  They want it both (or all) ways.

RFP will never abandon social media, and therefore, Jin won't either.  I couldn't be like that, ever.  My 30 something daughter lives on the internet (she's in IT) and she has all but given up SM, so it's not just a generational thing at all.

Yeah I am one of the dreaded Millennials, and even though I have some acquaintances who are really annoying on social media (I, ahem, check their profiles frequently for the latest madness), I have never encountered anyone quite as fame whorish on SM as Jeremy and Jinger.

!00% agree with this. Really, Josh and Jill were the only Duggar kids who consistently enjoyed the spotlight, based on their talking head and general behavior.

I thought Jessa really preened in front of the camera. I never had the impression she was merely tolerating being on teevee.

I honestly never got that impression from her. She certainly never hated it like Jana did, but I best I'd describe her as neutral. Comparing her to Jill makes it obvious, in my opinion. Jill LOVES the camera. She was always thrilled to be there (until the first scandal), 100% sincere in her talking heads, excited to be doing all the idiotic TLC-mandated activities, always playing up the Duggar antics for the camera (like when she asked Jinger if she was pregnant yet and Jinger look annoyed and Jessa rolled her eyes and said that one shouldn't ask that). The one I really remember was when Jill was wedding dress shopping, and the boutique had this whole "princess package." After a few dresses she knew which one she wanted, and when the shop owner said if she was done, Jill said she was sure that was the dress but she wanted to keep trying more one to keep the princess experience going. And now, Jill is the most prolific social media poster, the one with the content most obviously skewed to appeal to the most amount of people. It boggles my mind that that's viewed so positively in Jill but somehow Jessa is one perceived as the most attention seeking. People would have burned her in effigy if she said she wanted to still be a princess for the day.

Yet Jessa was the one who picked out the pretty pretty princess dress, lol. I don’t know if Jessa loved being on camera, but did seem arrogant and seemed to think she was “better” than her sisters, imo.

Huh? How was her dress more "princess" than anyone elses? It was like the 3rd dress she tried on and she was done.

I'm not saying Jessa doesn't have a stick up her ass, but it's just bizarre to me to point to her as the most fame hungry when Jill is right there. She's tied with Jeremy in that department.

Just for the record, I didn't say that Jessa was the most fame hungry. I only pointed out that she seemed more than comfortable in front of the cameras including her talking heads. I have had the opinion that she was very invested in keeping the TV show going, but then so are her parents and at least one of her brothers-in-law, lol.

ETA: Kind of on the subject since this is the Vuolos topic and they are all about the SM. I think Jill's more naturally outgoing and comfortable meeting new people than Jessa, and the differences in their personalities probably affect how they handle their respective social media postings. I'm not going to hate on any of the Duggars for using social media. It's a fact of life these days, and they have huge follower numbers because of their level of celebrity. I don't think any of them do social media all that well, but hey, if they keep their fans happy and they make some money from it, they aren't utter failures, whatever my personal opinion of their content may be.

Can someone help me out?  Several seasons ago, wasn’t there a Duggar adult daughter or SIL who said they didn’t like coffee at all.   Was it Jinger or Kendra?

He blew it this time.  If he had crafted the photo with one of his delightfully expensive fountain pens, I would've bought him as a serious student.  But a common yellow highlighter?  Come on, Jere.  Your pretention game is slipping.

Yeah but it’s a Sharpie. Not some common low budget store brand  highlighters the likes of which lower life forms like me purchase.

How many creative ways can Jeremy and Jinger post pictures of their young daughter on social media without showing her face?  From the side, from behind, from above, from behind an umbrella - what's next, do we think?  A drone shot?  Wearing a hockey mask?  A wig and sunglasses?  What fun!  Because if you want to keep your children safe and off of social media but also want clicks because mystery, making sure you don't show their face is the smartest way to go!

IDIOTS.

I wish I had as much free time as this guy does when I was in graduate school. I also had a full-time job though. And I’ll be damned if I was marking up my books, let alone taking pictures of them. I needed to sell or rent those suckers just to put gas in my car.

I marked mine up as an undergrad and in grad school, so I won't judge Jeremy for that. I also bought lots of used texts with writing in them, so it doesn't automatically disqualify you from reselling. I had an English professor who used to tell us if you weren't annotating, you weren't reading. So, now, I still annotate things I read for fun. Thanks a lot for that, Prof. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That being said, that looks more like glamour highlighting than study highlighting.

That's the guy that Jer had his parking-lot breakfast(s?) with last year. I therefore assume it's a friendly joke......Because they're buds.. But ... seems like i tmay have a bit of an edge?  Here's hoping.

(although I suppose not....just shows what bros they all are, I suppose....)

Seriously -- Do they just like him because he sucks up so much and they realize he's so dumb that he's probably essentially harmless to them as a rival or anything? Or what?

I download the PDFs and read them on my iPad. I guess I was next level broke! No one gave me a free house, street Food, or a book deal when I was in grad school.

I will give Jeremy this one tip I learned in grad school:  go to the buffet restaurant at 3:30 so you pay the lunch price. Make a small plate and eat it really slowly, at 4 o’clock they put out a good dinner food but don’t charge you any more money.  That’s when you make a few big plates and eat all your protein. It’s a great way to eat a big meal cheaply.

You’ll need that once the money train shuts down.

The nice part about studying history and English was that I ended up usually keeping the books I bought for classes. They weren't as expensive as some of the books my friends in other majors had to buy, and it was usually pretty easy to score used copies on the cheap. Ended up with lots of inexpensive Penguin paperbacks of the classics that I still own. I did give away Sister Carrie because I hated it so much--that was one of the only ones I didn't keep. Damn Dreiser. Actually gave it to a friend as a white elephant Christmas gift, and she was offended because I'd complained so bitterly about it. Then a few weeks later, she told me my hateful annotations in the margins were funny and it was her favorite Christmas gift, but I can't remember what I wrote. 😂

I am astonished by how much free time Jeremy has. When I was in grad school with an assistantship, the head of our department told us to consider the combination of the two as a full-time job. Some of my more social classmates did do social stuff and some of the wealthier ones did have summer vacations I was secretly jealous of, but nobody was golfing regularly, that's for sure.

I read Sister Carrie in my senior year English class.  I don't remember anything about it (well, it has been almost 50 years ago!) so I doubt I liked it, either.

Jeremy doesn't seem to be seriously studying anything at all.  He hasn't got a job to speak of, with all his golf/shoving food in his maw/photo op time, how could he?  Must be nice...

Lucky you, nursing textbooks are either scientific, technical, or boring. Usually not the kind of thing you wind up keeping except for reference.

Sorry, this was all pre-Covid. Naturally. I would not recommend buffet for awhile.

As a replacement for tip I will tell them to go to Little Caesars about 10 minutes before they close and get all the pizza they were going to throw out for free.

Alternatively, donut shop dumpsters are usually gold mines as well. Just don’t wear your baking sleeves, Jingle.

I think, in Jeremy’s case, seminary is more like my grad school. I’m a teacher, so getting my masters and specialist happened while I was teaching full time (and raising kids).  Mine was partially in person and partially online. Other pastors I’ve known have gone to seminary while also pastoring a church. I don’t think it’s the same time commitment as some types of graduate studies.

And now, because I’ve defended him, Jeremy is still a wannabe Z-list celebrity.
