The location of Titan is somewhere in Colorado according to the coordinates provided by the Word of the Witness in Fatherland. ETA: A quick google for Raritan turned up a city in New Jersey and a company in New Jersey. According to the 12 Monkey wiki, Raritan National Laboratories (which is where the temporal facility is located) is "within probably walking distance of Philadelphia" (I assume this is based on the pilot episode). kat165 June 28, 2016 Share June 28, 2016 (edited) I was bored for the first 20 min or so. I've never been a fan of dystopias (I'm in this for the time travel) so all the fighting/violence, macho postering and angst in the beginning was making for a disappointing episode. Even more disappointing because the last few eps have been so good. But then Jennifer came on the scene & it was awesome from there. I bawled my eyes out during the young Jennifer/Mother conversation and then again when Dr. Jonessat on the bed of the machine & disintegrated. Cool effects that. Exactly as you'd expect it to look like when someone is eaten by time. The Cole/Cassie meet up in 57 was just the cherry on it all. Does anyone know if the show is renewed for a 3rd season yet? Chaos Theory June 28, 2016 Share June 28, 2016 This show just gets more and more impressive. All the emotional beets worked for me. From Cassie and Ramse to Cole and even Deacon. The "death" of old Jennifer and the "birth" of New Jennifer worked for me as well. Cassie has had a long and difficult journey this season and I for one think it has played out spectacularly. When Jones and Cole hugged I got all teary eyed. That moment was more then earned. Plus when Jones got eaten up by the red forest standing next to her time machine I thought that scene had a weird beauty to it. Of course she isn't gone for good but there could be no better death scene then that. 5 Link to comment
mjc570 June 28, 2016 Share June 28, 2016 I was ready to bail, purely because of Ramse and his "you've never been a father " wah wah wah, but the show did redeem itself with (1) Jennifer, always awesome at any age (a;though some Orphan Black special effects would have been nice); and (2) Cassie going back to 1957. I don't remember how many episodes are left in the season, but I do hope they wrap things up. I don't know if they can sustain another complete season without a lot of overplotting and episode stuffing. 6 Link to comment
thuganomics85 June 28, 2016 Share June 28, 2016 So, 2044 Jennifer Goines is now dead, and has been replaced by 2016 Jennifer Goines. Who... I guess is technically now the new 2044 Jennifer Goines. Oh, time travel! Whatever; she's just Jennifer now, and still awesome. Loved seeing the two of them play off one another. Emily Hampshire did a great job at making them similar in some ways, but different in a lot of ways too. I liked that Old Jennifer clearly been changed by her experiences and regrets, while Young Jennifer didn't have as much confidence at first over her abilities to lead the Sisters, but it already getting there. Can't wait to see her in 2044. Glad Cole found a way to stop Ramse and Cassie's little coup. Both of them were getting on my nerves, and I was disappointed that Whitley went along with it. It really just felt like they wanted revenge and really weren't thinking things through, and that could have been extremely costly. At least Ramse will get to go hunt The Witness now with Jennifer and the sisters. All that said, Cassie finally waking up and going back with Cole to 57 was a great moment. It may have taken her a while, but I'm glad she came around. Cole/Cassie are the best. You can do it, guys! I'm guessing Deacon is now going to have a lovely scar going forward. Or maybe even an eye-patch if Hannah actually got his eye. Ouch! I'm sure with all the time traveling stuff, Jones will appear again in some form, but her death here was well done. Every episode is a spectacle, always leaving me yearning for the next one. - I like Ramse (still), but I am nearing the end of my tether on how he makes everything about being a father - and rubbing it in Cole's face that he can't understand it because he isn't one himself. And where does he get off saying Cole is emotionally & mentally naive because he's never had a family? Uh, he had a dad until he was like 5 or 6. Nice little subtle dig that Cole threw Ramse's way, too; "I thought you were my family". - Poor Cassie. Yes, she was in the wrong in siding with Ramse, but it can't be easy knowing The Witness used her for his own purposes; sabotaging the machine and the result being that someone was killed and Sam was zapped away (or killed as well). Who wouldn't want some payback for that? It was easy to tell though that she was pretty uneasy with the actual coup [or at least the violence part of it], and Cole's well-being came before everything else - no, I didn't think she ever really entertained the idea of shooting him after she got the gun & upper-hand on him when he was going to shoot and kill Adler. - A naked, drunk, & crooning Deacon. I like him, but there are some things the eyes and brain can't un-see after seeing it. I was wondering, why and how did Ramse and Cassie forget that Deacon was there, while running this coup? Seems like a rather large oversight on their part. Like how Cole brought him over to his side and they worked together. And someone likes holding grudges, when Cassie found out he was part of the movement to re-take the facility and machine back; "I know, 'its nothing personal'". "Oh no, sweetheart, it is personal." - '44!Jennifer finally pointing out what we've been seeing as this season has progressed, that Cole has stepped up into a leader role. - Not meant to be funny at all, but I wanted to chuckle when '44!Jennifer told '16!Jennifer "Ok, I'm dying now", then dies. Just the way she said it, was like stating a simple fact like "the sky is blue" (or red, in their personal case). Young Jennifer being Mother now, I am digging it. Loved getting the follow-up to that scene a couple episodes ago, with Cole returning mere seconds after splintering out - this show never disappoints in that sense. - Cassie came to her senses. Thank God. This show is a little less entertaining when her and Cole are at heavy odds or separated from each other for longer lengths of time. I like how the Emerson Hotel is the home base for Cole and company when they travel to any point in the past. Don't watch teaser promos for next episodes, but I'm hoping the next one is Cole/Cassie/Agent Gale heavy. - I don't think that Jones' death and the facilities' destruction will be permanent. If Cole & Cassie can prevent the paradox in '57, then time should reset enough in '44 to prevent what we saw at the end of Resurrection. Really looking forward to the next episode, while incredibly sad to know we have just 2 left in the season. It happened to both the coordinates-specialist scientist (Dr Lasky) and Jones. [thought it was a special thing, as seen with the kid last week] Something I was not aware of until now, IGN's review says Resurrection was the start of the 3-part season finale. Weird how he started out at this badass scavenger and now he's just one of those suburban moms whose answer to everything, whether it's the store being out of kombucha or the Bikram yoga studio not providing daycare, is, "You don't understand how hard this is for me because you're not a parent." Seriously, STFU. Everyone in 2044 has suffered and lost people they loved. Your pain is not greater than everyone else's and it doesn't give you the right to act like a whiny pouting condescending dick. Ramse's best moment this week was when he stopped the car, looked at Cassie, and without a word, told her to go to Cole. Okay, and he told his mutineers not to shoot Cole. Fine, he did two good things this week. Awwwww, and he unsarcastically told Cole that he loves him so that gets him some bonus points. Poor 2016 Jennifer was more upset about 2044 Jennifer dying than 2044 Jennifer was. 2044 Jennifer has really come a long way. She accepted her pending death and didn't try to escape it. Loved her Die Hard reference! Poor Jennifer - Cole never gets her pop culture references! Deacon, on the other hand, was going full on drunk naked Breakfast Club. I wish he would realize that it's not that Cassie is too good for him. She just doesn't want to be close to anyone. Drunk Deacon is pretty awesome - constantly singing, offering to have a sword fight with Cole, plotting to kill Ramse. I like Drunk Deacon! Also awesome: Jones headbutting Ramse. And she went out like a boss, just sitting in the splinter chair. Totally loved how excited 2016 Jennifer was about getting to splinter for the first time! I totally cracked up when she told 2016 Jennifer, "Okay, I'm dying now," in the same tone of voice that a normal person would have used to order coffee. But it was really great to see calm accepting mature 2044 Jennifer giving 2016 Jennifer some last minute mentoring. When Jennifer asked if Cole would be willing to sacrifice someone he loves for the mission and the good of the world, I think he thought she was talking about Cassie or Ramse (and it reminded me of Buffy killing Angel to save the world!). 9 Link to comment
Irishmaple June 28, 2016 Share June 28, 2016 (edited) Jennifer had a great line to her Daughters before launching her assault on Jones's facility, something about saddling up horses and broomsticks, that completely rocked my world. 2044 Jennifer was awesome, especially in staring down her own death. Aside from cackling at that line, I basically sobbed through the episode. The coup. Cassie holding a gun on Cole. The way Cole said "Cassie" before she walked away from him. Jennifer getting shot. 2016 Jennifer splintering and plotting with herself. Hannah leaving her biological mother just after finding her. Jones evaporating. And finally the look on Cole's face when he saw Cassie in 1957. This episode made my cold little heart grow three sizes and then break. I can't remember the last time a TV show made me cry. Well played, 12 Monkeys. I remember Aaron Stanford from Traveller and I liked him in Nikita, but he's really been on another level on this show. Edited June 28, 2016 by Irishmaple 6 Link to comment

It pulled all my heartstrings, which was a little unexpected since the first 15-20 minutes were me getting fed up with half the characters. It would've been worth it just for the lovely and heartbreaking scene of Jennifer 1 and Jennifer 2 meeting and parting. Hearing Jennifer tell her younger self that she loved her was beautiful, and their twin snorts added unexpected cuteness, and then younger Jennifer walks away with shaky nerves but also with focus and purpose. The show was immediately an A+ just for that. But then, we see Jones take her last stand. Watch the strangely beautiful disintegration of the facility. Get Cassie smiling and reuniting with Cole. And I've meant to mention this with previous episodes, but the music is aces. Whoever composes their instrumental pieces deserves a round of applause for always highlighting the emotion of the scene without being melodramatic. Also, Ramse needs to die. I'm not being pissy (despite how annoying he has been), I just don't see where his character goes other than dying. He worked with the bad guys for years because of his son, had that son tell him point-blank that it was wrong, and then continued to make more awful choices. He seems fully aware of who he was become. I don't see him getting redeemed or snapping out of it like Cassie; I think that what we see is the only Ramse we'll ever get, and his usefulness on the show is done once we get the big showdown at Titan. On a lighter note, I had some retroactive giggles when Deacon was sliced. Older Jennifer hadn't liked what she saw yet, so either she likes who Deacon becomes next (possible) or likes that he's scarred as payback for shooting her (more likely). Have I mentioned that I love this show. Because I really, really do. Guys, we are so screwed if Syfy doesn't renew... Edited June 28, 2016 by coppersin 3 Link to comment

He has only ever had two things that have ever held any meaning for him. Cole and his son. I wouldn't exactly call him a villain but more someone who is driven by hopelessness and rage. He needs something to hold on to and Cole is no longer enough and without his son grounding him he is driven by nothing more then his hopelessness and rage. Honestly I find him an interesting character because he is not evil. He isn't driven by evil desires. His loyalty was never to the 12 Monkeys. Even when he was working with them he was never loyal to them. It was all for his son. And now that his son is gone he is driven by his two basic desires; hopelessness and rage. It will be interesting to see what happens when he uses them on the Witness because there is sure to be a shock coming his way. 8 Link to comment

ElectricBoogaloo June 29, 2016 Author Share June 29, 2016 (edited) What I loved about it was that only a few episodes when Cole tried to tell Ramse he loved him, Ramse stopped him and joked about it. But this week, knowing that they were on opposing sides, Ramse freely told him that he loved him despite the fact that they were at war over the machine and their different agendas. That was Ramse acknowledging that they are family and that he wanted both of them to survive this as unscathed as possible. It was obvious that neither wanted to shoot the other, but they were desperate enough to point their guns at each other in the hopes that it would get the other to back down and end their stand off (while simultaneously believing that the other person loved them enough not to pull the trigger). They have been brothers for a long time and it takes a lot to destroy a bond like that. If Cole can forgive Ramse for helping the 12 Monkeys in order to save Sam (which, in turn, interfered with Cole's mission and got millions of people killed), he can forgive just about anything. Their current conflict has no ill will between the two of them (heh, unlike, say, the conflict between Deacon and Ramse). I don't know how Cole still manages to deal with Cassie and Ramse without resorting to stabby objects. And how much did I love Deacon this episode? Too bad he screwed up there at the end but I'm going to blame Ramse for that because everything is Ramse's fault! I'm beyond Ramse (wah, wah you're not a parent - this is becoming as annoying as Waaalt!). I guess he'll get yet another redemption arc despite having screwed the whole world for a second time, sheesh. And nope, I'm still not on the Cassie-love train. I just didn't buy her arc this season and wished she was the sacrifice Cole had to make but it was clear that it was Jennifer, sigh. Jones head-butting Ramse was my everything - I need a GIF. And I just love how subtle they played her relationship with Hanna who inquired after 'Katharina' yet when Cole arrived at the camp but finally called her 'mother' when the time-storm caught Jones. Jones and Cole hugging gave me the feels (in a non-shipping way) - that was the emotional highlight of the episode not Cassie showing up in 1957, bleech! Obviously Cole will nix the paradox otherwise Jennifer could not return to the past and raise the daughters. But things won't go as smoothly as expected - maybe Cassie gets lost/killed in the past or becomes the witness (I liked her in season one, I swear I did!). But since it is obvious the show wants us to invest in the Cole/Cassie romance I am trying to at least tolerate her presence. I was really hoping she would stay with Ramse (even though I like Ramse better than Cassie) because I thought that might be somewhat interesting because of the tension between the two of them and because I don't think Ramse is remotely interested in a Cassie romance. There better be some sort of attitude change to go along with her change of heart. I've transitioned to active dislike of the character. The goodbye scenes were so great. At one point both the Jennifers said the same thing and then snort-laughed together, which made me laugh out loud. And then the Jones/Cole hug. Perfect. The Jones head-butt of Ramse was AWESOME. Being sent to 2044 and actually living in that world did a number on her, and having her brain hijacked by The Witness on top of that was even worse. In a lot of ways, she's as unhinged as Jennifer, it's just not as showy (or as entertaining.) She's the one that's been susceptible to the special tea and had the witness "inside her head." Maybe that's because she is in fact the witness. They've spent all season trying to develop and humanize him and then he goes and throws a temper tantrum because Cassie doesn't love him? Seriously? I did like Cassie's decision at the end and Jennifer talking to her older version, even if a part of me suspects it was done so they didn't have to put old age makeup on the actress anymore. P.S. It's interesting that when everybody loved Ramse back in s1 I didn't care for him and now when I'm starting to come around (don't get me wrong, I still can't stand his son or him being so focused on him - I'm talking more about his suprisingly cool relationship with Cassie and general badassery) everybody's criticizing him. Last season he was mostly a one-dimensional ass-h*** - this season... well let's say he's got some depths: The brother he had to avenge and who he clearly loved as much as a guy like Deacon can love. His exasperated 'You even sound like him' to Cole was perfect because it also explained that relationship so well. It also became clear that he does have a code no matter how crazy that code is. But what I thought was really ingenious was how they explained his devotion for Cassie (it got a bit lost because of everything else going on): he had a crush on her since his childhood because he saw her on tv, she was a beacon of hope during the apocalypse. And then all of a sudden due to the miracles of time-travel he meets her in person. Sounds familiar? But instead of becoming her Kyle Reese Cassie uses him just as a one-night-stand. Plus, when he said, "See something you like, Granny," Jennifer, she said, "Not yet." That makes me think we're going to see more of Deacon. Which makes me happy. I love stories about the redemption of soft-hearted sociopaths. Also, I actually kind of loved Deacon's, "Oh it was totally personal" response to Cassie. Although maybe Young Jennifer could insist on that - it would be in character for her. Still, I considered him dead because they didn't bother to show him after Hanna stabbed him. I actually really like Deacon, I just didn't like this turn at all. It felt contrived to get rid of Old Jennifer and very out of character. Link to comment

Jennifer is awesome and needs to be leader of the world. Deacon is a delight. Love the bromance and tension between Cole and Ramses. sharkunit42 July 11, 2016 Share July 11, 2016 I was at the Paley screening, and during the panel afterwards, it is ABUNDANTLY clear that Kirk is soooooo over the whole "MY SON" thing. There's a hilarious part where he begs Mr M to just "Kill the kid already" and says he will offer his "nuts" (think someone corrects him to "one nut"!) giftwrapped if he just buries him. So, y'know, it's not just us ;-) That thing about "you're not a father" really annoyed me too. Nor was Ramse.. he was no better than a "weekend father" who just pops in and does the fun stuff with the kid and has barely spent five minutes with him. Sure, he loved the boy, but I can't believe it would be the same level as if he'd been around for the child's entire life. supposebly July 24, 2016 Share July 24, 2016 (edited) Finally watching the last three episodes. I wish I were invested in the "twu luv" of Cassie and Cole but I'm so abundantly not. Which leaves a lot of the dramatic beats splat on the ground for me, especially in this episode. I can't stand Cassie, I'm bored with Ramse and I wish this would become the Jones, Cole, Deacon, and Jennifer show. Although at least Cole and Ramse's love for each other at least makes it an interesting dynamic. More to see of Deacon! Heh! I always had a thing for Todd Stashwick and he makes Deacon a lot more layered than he has any right to be. 2 Jennifers was wonderful. She could have been so annoying but she became one of my favorite characters. Does this mean Jones is gone for good? In any case, she went out like a boss.
