When you are in the below deck forum it has a headline for spinoffs that takes you nowhere.

Maybe it should redirect here?

The "headline" notes a sub-forum, it's not meant as a redirect to this forum as it was for spinoffs AND past seasons, and still takes one to the latter. Someone wanting to find previous seasons wouldn't want to be redirected here instead.  Now that Mediterranean has its own forum here, the sub-forum title in the Below Deck forum will be changed at some point.

Ok... In April 2017, I'd like to go there with my hubby : https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/6148060?wl_source=list&wl_id=16635479&role=owner&check_in=2017-04-04&check_out=2017-04-11&guests=2

He knows we'll go "somewhere", but it was totally up to me to plan it according to the budget he gave me...

Why do I put it here ? Because of Below Deck Med'. (and if I'm a good negociator, as it's far from full season, I'll be able to not even rent two Quads (= ATVs ?) for the week, but also make a cruise on a sail ship ! Yeah !)

I guess we don't get a reunion? I turned the TV hoping to see a reunion for this season but instead it's that Shahs of Sunset crap.

Has anybody heard anything about a reunion?

No reunion for this one.  Maybe next season, if there is one.

Maybe Andy didn't like how this season/debut turned out either. I thought it was pretty much a bore, except for the beautiful scenery. I like Ben and look forward to seeing him on the next season of the original Below Deck, but I don't care if I never see any of the others again. Jules and Capt. Mark and even Hannah were ok, but it's one and done for me.

Yeah, this version of "Below Deck" was disappointing.  Something that really annoyed me about the crew was how they had no concept of "chain of command".  When a superior ranking crew member told someone to complete a task, the response was often something like, "I don't want to," or "I don't have to," or "I'll  do it later if I feel like it."   Unbelievable.   The only rank that seemed to warrant the crew member obeying commands was "Captain".

He was raving about it on WWHL.  He said it was Vanderpump Rules but on a boat.  I am disappointed.

Because I'm constantly googling yachts and yacht services for this show and the mothership, Google thinks I'm really interested in yachts. Anytime there's a new yacht concept, I'll get a new story in my feed. So when these show up, I had to share.

Gigayachts that require more than 50 staff to operate.

The Orsos Island is a super yacht designed to look like a private island.

It’s not really a yacht. If you go to their website it mentions that it has no engines so has to be attached to a cargo ship to move anywhere. It’s also ugly as shit.

That's even stupider than having a big ungainly island shaped boat. If it can't move under its own power, you may as well rent a beach villa and take a catamaran or smaller motor yacht out during the day.

Selling ridiculous stupid shit to rich people is a lucrative hustle that I wish I could break into!

As we have some chefs and strong home cooks here, is anybody able to help with a question I can't find the answer to online?

What effect does adding diastalic malt powder to a soursough starter have?

Will it make a more sour, "tangier" sourdough bread?

It "nourishes" and helps the sourdough to grow, told hubby

Thank you, Diane!  This answer does not seem to exist in baking books or on the Internet.

Does your husband happen to know the amount?  Do I replace some of the feed flour with it, or use it in addition to it?  The diastalic malt powder I have is based with rye flour, from King Arthur.

Does it change the amount of water needed?

This brought to you from an internet search.  I'd call my Mom but I already didn't commit the finer points of making bread to memory twice.  And it seemed like a lot of trial and error until it worked even though she took a class and had a recipe.  Don't use chlorinated water.  It kills sourdough.  That is all I remember.

diastatic malt powder is proportional to the flour but using too much can ruin the bread.

Double check that your flour doesn't have diastatic barley malt.  Most wheats and organics won't so your rye probably doesn't.

Most online recipes have it as optional  to 1/2 teaspoon (per 3 cups flour) to 2 tsp (per 3 cups flour) but too much ruins it so maybe start at 1/2 tsp per 3 cups flour.  I saw a few on line posts saying 2 tsp ruined the bread and made it gummy.

I don't know. He doesn't neither. He's not a baker (even if he's still making cakes, croissants, pastries, etc. ), but he told me he never used it when he was making bread (some years ago, lol !) and that you don't need it if you've got a good sourdough. But I will stop here, because we don't have the same flours, products, etc... (and I'll add that I don't like "sugary" bread at all, and we don't like the bread like you do in NA, so, of course, we don't follow the same receipes)
