It makes me a little sad that Riley misses out on the fun part of sharing a room. I shared a bedroom with my sister until she was a teenager and still remember it very fondly. (Of course, she was older - by 3 years - and I don't really know how she felt about it. 😀 But I loved it. ) Riley's missing out on the chatting and game  playing and sleeping in her sister's bed after a scary movie. My sister and I used to play whatever TV word games were on at that time. Maybe they let her sleep with her sisters on weekends. And they spend a lot of other time together, anyway.

If the description of the house is accurate, they have a separate playroom, and two media rooms in the house, so they could turn the playroom, and one media room into bedrooms, and that would give each quint their own room, and Blayke already has her own, so they only need a couple more for one bedroom each.    It's not as if they need a guest room either, or could turn the pool house into a casita for visitors.

It wouldn't surprise me if Adumb and Danielle keep her from sharing a room precisely to isolate her.  I don't think it's conscious on their part, but the vitriol they seem to have for her makes me believe it could be true.

That's a good point and probably so true. I'm convinced Danielle is threatened by her existence. Sure, she's her kid and she loves her. But she's also got it out for her. I don't believe for a second that they don't have an order for favorite to least favorite. First is Hazel, Parker is second, Ava and Olivia are tied for third and fourth, and Riley seems to be dead last for both of her parents. Sad.

I dont like how they discuss the kids problems and behaviors in front of others. Especially stuff they have already dealt with. Imagine being a child (of any age) and hearing your parents talk about you with you standing right there. Unless it's praises, or talking about your child in a good light, then it's just poison.

I don't think there's any ulterior motive BUT (unpopular opinion) I like Adam and Danielle.

I don't think Hazel is the favorite. She hast issues with her eyes so yes, she gets more time with her parents.(Driving to doctor's appointments...). But if you look at Danielle's Insta and also on the show it is totally obvious that Ava is Danielle's favorite. Mostly it's Ava who's sitting on Danielles lap and gets cuddled all the time.

I was literally screaming, "Nightlights!" at the screen. WTH?? I have them all over to see around the house in the dark, but you know -they have hella cute ones for children.

Or why close the bedroom door on a kid who's afraid to be in a room by herself?

Amazing they could spend a good portion of this one hour episode talking about Riley's fear of sleeping alone, enough already and yet never come up with any solution.  Same with all the episodes dedicated to taking Hazel to the eye Dr.  Honestly these people have absolutely zero talent at producing drama. I really hope this show gets cancelled soon, it's a great disservice to these kids.

Here in Texas there are many grown men and women who go by Bubba, Junior, Sissy, etc. (I mean, who hasn't seen Urban Cowboy?).  It isn't uncommon and the majority of those people grow up to be fully functioning adults.

My ex always insisted on closed bedroom doors at night for fire safety reasons (he was a firefighter).  I doubt, however, that the Busbys do it for that reason.

I had a dream that I owned a chocolate store ( I do make choclates) and that Blayke won a day to come to my store and make chocolates for Valentines day. Danielle came with her and I spent the day with them helping Blayke make chocolates for Valentines day gifts. Danielles sisters with their daughters showed up. It was still okay. Until Danielle left to pick up the quints from school and brought them back... then all hell broke loose.

That would be far too responsible for Adam and Danielle.

I agree about the sharing a room - but what about Blayke - she's never shared...

Danielle has alot more patience with Adam on this topic specifically.

I would have put my foot down (and probably in his a*s) years ago - "we are not going to do that here starting now".  there is no reason that a child's (and his) memory  of any holiday/celebration evolves fright, tears, yelling and scaring. Unfortunately , there is plenty in life to be scared during all ages/stages and for some sick reason, he acts like it's not allowed or correct behavior/emotion. He acts like it is a big joke.

I just don't get if he thinks the only way to celebrate Halloween is to go extremely overboard turning the evening into a mini-Fright night, then he needs to find a peer-group who feels the same way. There are several around and I'll bet those members are much older than 5 & 9.

Including that horid Easter bunny costume in my above comment.

That's the price - or the luck!  - of being the eldest. My oldest sister had her own room that my next-older sister moved in to when the former went away to school.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates watching Adam and Danielle talk about Hazel's eyes and watch them going to Hazel's eye doctor visits.

I get that they are nervous about another eye surgery, but the "wait and see and observe" period has gone on too long. I'd be going to a specialty eye center and trying to see the most (or a) highly acclaimed doctor in the field. I live in the mid-Atlantic area and there is Wills Eye Hospital. At the absolute least, get a 2nd opinion.

Agreed. And they only ended up with Dr. Megan by default because the doctor who performed the surgery left. I wonder if they even bothered to look into anyone else, because the way that last visit went, I feel like it literally did not provide any results. After 10 months, you find out she's trying to hide her head turn, and you just say, well, she's getting to smart for this!! Tell her she needs to let it be the way it is and that it's the only way they'll be able to help her. Since she doesn't say a word either.

My daughters are twins who are seven and they love to watch Outdaughtered with me.  After the Halloween episode they kept saying that the mommy and daddy are mean because they make Riley sleep alone.  They said "We are older than her and we share a room."  I don't understand why they think Riley has to have her own room!

My guess is the previous eye doctor moved to another city, and was out of network.    Dr. Megan can't help Hazel, or diagnose her properly if Hazel keeps refusing to cooperate, and the parents aren't telling the doctor what's really going on.      I don't know why the Busbys even take Hazel to the doctor if they won't tell the doctor exactly what's going on with Hazel, and what her behavior is with head tilting, and other issues.

They did, but it was when they first moved into their current house, which was a lifetime ago in the quints' development.  She's old enough to understand now that if she's disruptive, she'd have to sleep in her own room by herself.

Just my two cents:  I finally get why those quints are so far behind in speaking (they talk like 3 year olds whining with a REALLY high voice).. I have nieces and nephews.. the girls were very far advanced at that age than these girls.. but i get it now.. A-Dumb (which I knew but it's gotten worse) speaks baby-talk to them.  The thing that really got me was when the quints were sleeping at Dale and Crystal's (i refuse to call her KIKI) house and A-DUMB DUMB dropped the quints off and was "shocked" that they weren't all over him saying "daddy don't go".  GROW UP ADUM.  and let your kids grow up.  Blayke, to me, is pretty mature for her age.

This story keeps getting attributed to Riley/Outdaughtered, but I believe this actually happened with the Gosselins/Jon & Kate + 8.  Alexis was the one who would wake the other sextuplet sisters up in the middle of the night, so they complained about her.

I don't know how it all of sudden became Riley.  In fact, on one of the episodes where they were getting ready to leave to go on the Disney cruise, Danielle was pissed at Riley because she was whining because she was cranky after not getting enough sleep because Ava and Olivia had come into her room the night before and woken her up.  I remember being perplexed at how Danielle was treating poor Riley, who was just tired and totally innocent, but had nothing but hugs for the two who actually caused the issue.

As for the room issue, there's always going to be an odd number.  It just sucks that it seems that Adam and Danielle have determined that Riley will always be the odd one out no matter what.  It would make more sense if they would rotate when these odd one out situations occur so no one feels left out all the time, but that doesn't seem to be how they approach the situation.  It's Ava/Olivia, Parker/Hazel, Riley.  This will be to Riley's benefit one day (she will LOVE having her own room), but right now she doesn't understand why she's isolated.

This might have happened with the Gosselins, too but I just saw the Outdaughtered episode recently where they moved into the "rental" and were deciding on the bedrooms.  They said that either Riley or Hazel would be in a room alone because Riley woke the others up and Hazel sang.  But, like I said upthread, that was a few years ago when they were just getting the hang of going to bed in beds and staying there.  Now that they're older, they could tell all the quints, including Riley, that if they woke anyone else up, then they'd have to be in a room alone.  I'm so tired of the way Danielle and Adumb treat Riley.  It's like she's the lightning rod for all their anger and frustration.  I honestly think there's a part of them, that however much they love their girls, is resentful for having quints.

It is always Riley that gets singled out! What, because she's smarter and braver and more independent than the rest of them? That doesn't make her exempt from having nightmares or being scared of the dark, and it also doesn't mean that she should have to miss out on the fun and the experience of getting to share a room. Totally agree, one day she will love it. But up until then, let her sleep in a room with her sisters.

Yeah, why didn't they put Hazel in her own room? If they both were disruptive, why make Riley be the one to sleep in a room by herself? In fact, why not put Parker in a room alone and the Hazel and Riley can keep each other up all they want. Oh wait...... Parker has anxiety and gets scared of the fkn dentist. Poor, poor Parker. Let's coddle and baby her because she's afraid of her own shadow. But Riley gets shamed for being afraid of the dark and having nightmares? Of all of them, she's the brave one. I mean that kid literally has no fear. So maybe they would take into account that the one who is fearless is actually afraid in this situation!! Maybe that means something. Maybe they should listen to her and be at least a little bit sympathetic or at least pretend to care. If Parker or Hazel got scared, I'd bet anything that they would end up in bed between Adam & Danielle. I'm so sick of their blatant favoritism.

Agree, they resentful of having quints. I bet they wished they only had quadruplets.

Why in the world do they need to go to Austin (about 200 miles away) to see the eye doctor?  Surely there are specialists in Houston (about 30 miles away).

They'd also probably find a doctor who would bother to find out what's going on. Or even one who pulls aside the parents and tells them that it's extremely important Hazel doesn't try to hide her issues and tells them that she needs to be more vocal about her own damn vision. She's 5. She's old enough to tell the doctor what she sees or doesn't see. I mean otherwise what's the point of even going?

For the bedroom situation, why not a 3-2 split?  If Hazel and Riley are keeping everyone awake, put them together and Parker, Ava, and Olivia together.  Or Ava and Olivia together, and Parker, Hazel, and Riley together.  Or another option to have Blake share with one of the girls and have 2-2-2. 🙄  Why is this so complicated?

I'm just watching last night's episode now, so please bear with me as I vent my frustrations lol.

Danielle saying she doesn't want her kids to see her as the disciplinarian... Clearly she's been doing a great job of that. So who does she think should discipline her kids, if not the actual parents? It's no one else's job, and the more she adopts that mindset, the more obnoxious they're going to become, and they're already doing a fine job of being obnoxious.

I really hope never to hear Adam say "let's turn this house into naked town" ever again.

Danielle wearing her mask under her nose.. I mean what's the point? And why didn't they perhaps tell her (in the hospital) to wear it properly? I know it's Texas, but in a medical facility you'd think they were a bit more strict. I wonder if people give them a pass because they're "special".

Re: Hazel's eye patch. They say they don't want her to be embarrassed by it, but it's only going to be embarrassing or uncomfortable if they make it so. They can't keep worrying about how she is compared to her sisters, otherwise they'll give her all sorts of issues because now THEY are the ones stacking her up next to them. Stop making such a big deal about her "shortcomings". They are the only ones making it a thing.

The bed assignments in the hotel.. of course it was Parker & Hazel and Ava & Olivia. Of course Riley is the odd one out again. How is singling her out any better than singling Hazel out? At least they understand why Hazel is a little different, but I don't think they (specifically Riley) understand why Riley is singled out all the time. And Danielle saying she's more than happy to send her to her cousin's room? Come in, Danielle. "I'm so tired to discipling them" she says. Ha! What discipline? Why does she think Riley rolls her eyes at her? I'd totally be cheering her on for pushing back, but I know Danielle will only lash out at her.

I can hardly wait to hear allllll about Danielle's health issues.

I like the new Dr, personally, but professionally I think she is lacking a little experience and is telling or giving into D&A , trying to avoid surgery. Or won't say surgery can't fix it - this is how life is going to be. Or not saying lets get another professional opinion.  Seem like the eye patch is another temp fix.

When my offspring was little the medical Dr and the eye-dr (3rd/4th grade) had age approiate exercises to test not only what we were there for, but also to put kiddoes at ease. And the medical, more so than eye dr,  asked age-level questions to test/gauge maturity. A question like is your favorite food, color, what is your favorite toy, do you have a pet.  then ask a follow-up question.  I wonder would hazel do better if the parent(s) was out of the exam room.  All it takes is a parental conversation to tell kiddie to talk, use your voice to the DR - which Hazel should be an better than what she is doing.

I do hope we get to see their pediatrician so we can see how the 5 act with her - that was always a lively episode and visit.

And who is not supposed to notice a watermelon eye patch ?

At first when Danielle went to to talk to the teacher what was going on in class, I was thinking , why didn't the Dr put down some signs to look for, so Danielle could relay that to the teacher - 1st day of school. Then when the teacher said Hazel just walks to the front of the room during a lesson on the whiteboard- I was like this is the first time a discussion with the parent was held?  A note , if not a phone call should have happened that day.

I think she's probably a really sweet lady and she's clearly good with kids. But you're right, it's not productive to manage the appointments the way they are. Of course they're probably editing a lot out, but I doubt they're editing out anything of substance. Considering she's a pediatric eye doctor, she should be a little better at coaxing answers out of her, no matter how she achieves it. I think leaving it to Adam and Danielle is probably the worst option. I feel like it's the same thing every appointment. I don't blame her for starting with eye patches, but maybe they should have done that three appointments ago.

I've often doubted the abilities of the school. They've done some weird stuff in the past, and this is just one more thing. They absolutely should have been forthcoming about her issues in class, whether or not she actually says something. These people are trained to know children's behavior, and they're more than aware of her eye issues. The fact that Danielle is forced to take the initiative is definitely not right.

My son has severe issues with certain noises as well. He is autistic and also suffers with Sensory Processing Disorder, and most autistic people do. Sensory processing disorder (SPD) is a condition that affects how your brain processes sensory information (stimuli). Sensory information includes things you see, hear, smell, taste, or touch. SPD can affect all of your senses, or just one. SPD usually means you’re overly sensitive to stimuli that other people are not. But the disorder can cause the opposite effect, too. In these cases, it takes more stimuli to impact you.  There is another condition called Misophonia,  which is a neurological condition in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses others may deem unreasonable. Maybe Parker suffers from one of these conditions and has not been diagnosed yet. Her reaction to her sisters lip smacking really caught my attention and those were the first things I thought of.

I should have phrased that differently. I'm familiar with sensory disorders associated with autism. However, there has never been any indication of Parker being even remotely on the spectrum, and it sounded a lot more like Ava trying to bother Parker and Parker getting annoyed by it. To that end, I was definitely under the impression that she was just whining because it was bothering her. Which is pretty par for the course with all 5 of those kids.

Some people are very sensitive to eating noises.     Of course, it could be that a certain sister just does that noise to irritate the sisters too.

Any guesses on the malady?    I'm qualified to diagnose from watching Grey's, ER, and other medical shows.   So my guesses are fibromyalgia, or panic attacks.   If it was autoimmune the basic tests they should have run during the last few doctor trips should have shown if it's arthritis, or other immune disorders.   Or hypochondria.

Many of the tests that can indicate an autoimmune problem are non-specific.  Her tests might show there’s something wrong, but not what that something is.  My son didn’t have many GI symptoms, but had random fevers, weakness, fatigue, and random swollen and painful joints.  His lab work was very abnormal, but not definitive.  It took a rheumatologist to put the pieces together that he had Crohn’s, which wasn’t confirmed until he had a colonoscopy.  Unfortunately, autoimmune diseases can often take a while to diagnose.

Oh I know. I was just throwing out suggestions. I know there has been no indication of Parker being on the spectrum. I was just suggesting those issues can affect anyone, whether on the spectrum or not. No doubt you are right that Ava was just annoying Parker. Just siblings being siblings. Probably realized it annoyed her and she continued to do it.

See, this is what worries me - health issues for the moms of these big families. I've posted the same fear on the Roloff page for Zach's wife Tori. A husband who is an LP, two children with same in some form, and she just posted a miscarriage for baby #3. God forbid she gets sick - who will care for all these people with big needs? Same concerns for Danielle basically. You just never know.

Danielle thinks she is having a heart attack, and then grabs her neck with both hands? Is her heart in a different place than mine is I wonder?

My guess is she'll be diagnosed with hypochondria.

Sometimes I think Blayke is the only one who has a lick of sense in this family. I loved the way she was talking to Riley about her fears. She was really trying to get at the heart of what was making her little sister so scared. I'm glad those two are so close.
