The guests on Graham's sofa are Oscar-winning star of the Hunger Games films Jennifer Lawrence and The Last King of Scotland and Atonement star James McAvoy, who both feature in new movie X-Men: Apocalypse. Plus comedian Jack Whitehall who stars in Mother's Day and Hollywood star Johnny Depp who returns as the Mad Hatter in Alice Through the Looking Glass.Will.i.am performs his new single Boys and Girls (featuring Pia Mia).

The episode was hilarious before Depp came on. Jennifer knew Jack Whitehall already and they all had a little bit to drink so the jokes were flying wonderfully. When Depp came on, the humor changed and it was less energetic and interactive.

Will.i.am shared another odd story about Michael Jackson where he kept saying "to make a long story short" two times. His MJ voice is funny though.

Agreed about Depp. I was rightfully dreading his arrival on the couch.

That may be so regarding Will.I.Am, but the guy didn't say "like" once. So clearly Miriam Margolyes whipped him into shape.

That was my instant first thought when I saw he was a guest! I look forward to seeing the ep.

I thought some of the Lawrence-McAvoy stuff was a bit over the top. They clearly had a good time but occasionally the audience was left out of the joke. Depp did a lot better than last time I saw him on the show. And his Trump was great - never expected him to pull that off.

Whitehall's Harrison Ford impression is pretty good! I love that his mom shared all those cosplay photos. And points to him for ribbing Depp about his recent animal import woes -- I didn't think Graham would (good host and all) but I'm glad somebody did.

Word, I just can't imagine this happening on an American talk show.  I can picture people talking about it but not to Johnny's face.

I guess I hadn't heard about anything with Depp and an animal, only Rob Lowe.

Depp is always so strange on talk shows. I enjoy a lot of his performances, but not on talk shows. I did that Donald Trump thing he did -- on Funny or Die, I believe -- and he was really good. The whole thing was funny.

I agree that the three guests were terrific together, and it was a shame that Depp had to join them.

Oh, yes, I remember that story. I hadn't seen the apology video, so thanks for that. On the show after Jack made the joke about animals, didn't Johnny say something like, "The hamster was clean."? That's what led me to salacious thoughts.

I agree. He's probably someone who doesn't enjoy the publicity side of things, but he's getting paid millions for his work. At this point in his career, he can probably dictate how much press he'll do. So suck it up! Also, he didn't look at Graham much, which is a pet peeve of mine—make eye contact with the person you're talking to!

I'm glad Jack mentioned (however obliquely) the Australia problem, because Depp and his wife were total assholes about it. Good for Australia for not backing down just because they're celebrities, too.

Is Jennifer Lawrence's superpower the ability to keep her bosom from flopping out because she apparently forgot to wear a top to her dress? I found her annoying, but then, I'm not a fan of her in general. Was her restaurant story supposed to be endearing? Because I thought it made her look like an idiot with no redeeming charm. It also seemed that she and James McAvoy were the "cool" kids excluding the others.

Jack Whitehall was quite charming. He appeared to be genuinely exasperated that his mother shared so many photos of him in costume. I liked his story about Harrison Ford calling out to him at the restaurant. And I was surprised that he mentioned Johnny Depp's trouble with the Australian authorities regarding his dog.

will.i.am was annoying too, and his story went on entirely too long.

Why does Johnny Depp speak the way he does? Did he also go to the Madonna School for the Pretentious? (At least in his case, he can act.)

That said, I did enjoy the episode, despite Jennifer Lawrence.

I just now heard an interview with Depp on the Lauren Laverne show on BBC Radio 6.  He seems to mumble a whole hell of a lot less on radio.  Perhaps he knows we don't have benefit of lipreading?  Or, perhaps he isn't too fond of Norton.  He retold the stories about Manchester and Bath & the spatula.  The interview ended with him saying "Spatchester" and it was -- I think -- quite funny.  I recommend it.  They archive the shows for a month, so you can listen here (I think that s/b today's show (05.25.2016).  He's at about the 2.5 hour mark.
