@Booney - My inner tween is so jelly!  I'm enjoying your pictures so much.  Any chance of a picture of your room?

Here are a couple of pics of the room. It’s small, but they’ve managed to get a lot of storage into a small space - a wall of closets that include drawers and shelves, and the night tables have three drawers. We have a wonderful view of the Rhine from our window, which they call a “french balcony.” It isn’t actually a balcony - just a window - but there’s plenty of room upstairs on the deck if you want to sit outdoors.

My Packers lost QB Aaron Rodgers for the season (probably), at the hands of arch-rival Vikings.  And I live in MN.  ?. ?. ?

My Giants actually won a game, at least we won't go 0 for 16 .

Such a pretty little room. Love the headboards with the blue and white fabric.

Thanks!  I love that the decor is sort of ornate and elegant.  Very cozy, and dare I say, romantic.  Perfect for a honeymoon.  Or is that a Booneymoon?  ?

They're apparently still here, even after our snowstorm.  Hardy little insects.  Unfortunately, I haven't seen any because my condo complex has no flowers.  ??

I saw that on the news. What a cool thing. Nature can be so inspiring. A swarm of painted lady butterflies.

Hi all! We spent the yesterday afteroon in beautiful Cologne, Germany. The centerpiece is the twin-spired Gothic cathedral dating from the 1200s. It’s truly magnificent inside and out. It is still a working church, so to speak, and is the most visited attraction in Germany.

The wifi here is wonky, so it’s been difficult to upload pics. I managed to upload the one below, and will try to post a couple more.

Here are some more photos from Cologne.

One of the many magnificent stained glass windows in the church. Each panel of the one on the left depicts a different story from the Bible:

One of two pipe organs mounted high up on the wall. The organist uses a special staircase to reach it.

Part of the historic area of the city:

A view from the river park along the Rhine. The bridge is the most heavily travelled train bridge in the world. 800 trains pass over this bridge every day.

We’re in Koblenz today which is a quintessential German city. Depending on how reliable wifi is tonight, I’ll try to post some pics.

We’re enjoying our “Booneymoon” (love that @CarpeDiem54) so much!

Once again, thanks for the lovely pictures!

Cologne is a beautiful city, isn't it?  That is where many of my German relatives live .  I was lucky enough to visit years ago when my boys were just old enough to appreciate it. (12 and 14).

What a cute room!  Easy to relax and watch the world go by outside your window.

So glad you are having a great time.

Puddy, Ocean Spray make cran-raspberry sauce?!  Wowie wow.  I'm gonna have to look for that one.  My Big Y here in MA has everything (including ready made meals, bistro seating and a full liquor store) so they'd have to have cran-rasp, right?  Am I right about that?  Thanks for the heads-up.  ***

Yup - I'm 15 miles north of Amherst.  Love that place when it's bustling with students but maybe the locals aren't so crazy about that .  Lol.  We go to Johnny's Tavern in town.  Was that around when he lived there?

Wow.  Huge surprise that Nene Leakes didn't bring in a huge audience to save the show.  <tongue is pushing a hole through my cheek.>

I'm sure in Nene's mind, she did everything she could to save the show...it was just everyone else who let her down!

Fashion Police is coming to an end November 27.  Here's the deets --

Fashion Police end with Joan Rivers finale special

Nene Leakes and Margaret Cho were awful, and the latest evolution of the show had too many dumb "games."  If they had focused more on fashion with more knowledgeable people, it would have been better.  I liked Brad Goreski, Giuliana was okay, and somebody had to be the lead, so why not Melissa.

Hello from Rudesheim, Germany! The name of our cruise - “Castles on the Rhine” - came to life today. We spent the morning cruising on the part of the river known as the “Romantic Rhine,” which is dotted with castles. Our tour guide told us that this area has the highest concentration of medieval castles in the world. It’s also known for it’s vineyards and wines - mostly Rielsings - so we saw many vineyards as well. It was a foggy, misty morning, which is not unusual for this part of the Rhine. Unfortunately it doesn’t necessarily make for great photos, but it adds to the mystique of the area.

We passed 22 medieval castles this morning. Below is just a small sampling of them. I hope you enjoy the pics!

This was my favorite of all the castles we saw - the castle and the setting are just perfect!

This was a unique spot. There was a castle built on an island in the middle of the Rhine, and behind it, you can see another castle on the hill. Those are vineyards on the hill.

Needless to say, we had to sample some of the Reislings while we were here...?

Hi friends! Sorry for two posts in one day, but the ship lost its internet connection for a while, and it’s been a bear uploading pics with the wonky wifi. Anyway, I had two more pics from yesterday that I wanted to share and couldn’t get them into the last post. After sailing past all of the beautiful castles yesterday morning, the ship docked and we were transported into Rudesheim. Once there, Mr. Booney and I took a cable car ride up into the hills. At the top, we had absolutely stunning views of the Rhine and the vineyards.

@Booney -Fabulous pictures, as always!  Absolutely breathtaking.  Are those castles occupied or used as museums, etc.?  They look in good repair and some have flags flying so I assume someone is taking care of them.

Thanks so much for taking us along on your Booneymoon.  ;-)

My pleasure, @CarpeDiem54 - I’m happy to share the experience!

Some of the castles are private residences (imagine living in one of those!), some of them offer tours, a few of them are wineries, one of them is even a youth hostel (what a cool place to stay!). So it’s nice that many of these castles are being repurposed in some way.

I remember when Joan tried to bring Melissa onto the qvc jewelry side. Melissa even had her own line of jewelry at qvc for a while. She wasn't good at all on air.

Same with Graver tried to bring her daughter in. First she did social media on the couch then tried presenting. Not good.

Anyone remember Jeanne Bice trying to have her daughter on air? Again, didn't go well. Before things got really bad for that family, of course.

Guess you really do have to have a certain personality. Or something.

Bonjour! We are in France today - in Strasbourg - and it is magnifique! I had French class from the 3rd grade all the way through my senior year in high school. I’m not very good at speaking it after all these years, but I’m amazed at how many words and sentences I can still read in French.

Strasbourg is in the Alsace region of France, but it has changed hands (mostly through wars) between the French and Germans several times. It’s currently the seat of the European Parliament of the EU. The citizens speak a dialect that is a combination of French and German. The city is very cosmopolitan yet has an old world charm. Like Amsterdam, it’s also a city of canals. As part of our tour here, we took a canal boat ride around the heart of the city. Below are some random snapshots of beautiful Strasbourg.

I have never visited Strasbourg, so doubly appreciate these photos.

And speaking of German Rieslings, which you did a couple of days back, try some Alsatian wines if you can.  They are a true midway point between German wines which tend toward sweet and light and the full-bodied French wines.  I snap them up when I see them sold here in Denver.

The wine choices at our onboard dinner last night were Alsatian wines - delicious! We’re in the Alsace region again today. For our excursion, Mr. Booney and I opted for a walking tour of a town called Colmar, which is described as the “prettiest town in the world.” I should have some great pictures to post tonight.

We end the cruise tomorrow morning in Basel, Switzerland. We’re not staying on so we won’t get to see much of Basel. We fly from Basel to London and then on to Philadelphia. If flight times hold, we should
