My mom has parrots, some rescued, and I totally understand the commitment.  And I agree they are not meant to be pets-we had a wonderful rescuer here named John Lege, aka "That Guy With The Birds" who made it his life's work to rescue and rehabilitate broken, abused parrots.  The central lesson of his speaking programs is that parrots should not be in captivity.

I'm catching up on the AE site and this episode isn't there.  I think I might be able to find it elsewhere, though, but I wonder why?
