From IMDB: "It's Halloween at Hearst and while Veronica is looking for Logan at the underground campus casino, the place is robbed and the thieves take Veronica's necklace, given to her by her Lilly Kane. Meanwhile, Dean O'Dell and his wife Mindy seek Keith's help in tracking down Steve, the biological father of Mindy's son, who is deathly ill. Wallace, distracted by a new group of friends, struggles to pass his Mechanical Engineering class."

I start getting annoyed with Veronica here because of her inability to trust anyone. I realize it's pathological and that she kind of can't help it but still, I am so sad that she thinks Weevil would have stolen Lilly's necklace from her or made her feel like she was in danger. He's done nothing to her to make her think that way. Yes he's a criminal but he has always been respectful of Veronica and has saved her ass on several occasions. This isn't like in the end of season one where she believes Logan might be filming her, this is some thing totally different. Wallace seems to be the only person she trusts and I don't really understand it.

Richard Grieco is the worst. His character in this is the absolute worst. Gross Richard Grieco.

I get tired of how quickly Veronica blames Weevil for things, too.  He's been loyal to her over and over again, and yet she still makes these ridiculous accusations about him.

Can we seriously talk about how gross Richard Grieco is, for real though?  Did they mean to cast the greasiest douche they could find, or did they lose a bet or something?  Richard Grieco is the worst.  Those eyebrows are so distracting.

Also, how over-the-top awful was that little girl?  I actually wanted Veronica to smack her in that last scene, but I guess grabbing the necklace off her will have to suffice.

Ugh, Greico is so so gross. I have to assume they knew that

given the turn he takes towards the end of the season

but still, he's literally hard to look at.

That little girl is AWFUL! I also want Veronica to hit her, which I suppose is the point but still. Good job to the child actress (I hope... either good job or congrats on being a terrible person who was typecast!).

Yeah, ugh that little girl is awful. She's billed as "Bratty Little Girl" on imdb.

I liked that Keith's alias was Adrian Monk, county building inspector.

And yes, immediately blaming Weevil was rough - though he did actually steal the money from the fair, which of course was not violent towards her but easily could have (and sort of did) put serious suspicion on her and honestly, isn't *all* that different other than the fake guns....plus he was mad at her for dating Logan. I dunno, I figured it probably wasn't him but being suspicious was not completely unreasonable.

I love Veronica's one-man fan club, and how excited he is to help her out on a case.

Agreed that it was disappointing that Veronica blamed Weevil after all they've been through.  I don't think he's ever hurt her, so her suspicion of him, specifically taking Lilly's necklace, would be out of character, even for him.  I liked the way she figured out who did rob the casino and I laughed at her ripping the necklace off the bratty girl, and just ignoring her ranting.

I'm surprised Dead and wife didn't offer the guy money up front, since its pretty clear that would have done the trick from the beginning.

So Wang's friend says Clair's his girlfriend, but Clair didn't recognize him at all?  Someone's not being truthful.

And Wallace is so busted.  Is mechanical engineering even a first year college course? And, why is a "Liberal Arts" college offering classes (and maybe degrees) in mechanical engineering? They don't exactly go together.  Usually, you find engineering degrees and classes in an engineering college, or more likely, at a university that has a college of engineering in its group.

I went to a liberal arts school that has an engineering program. It happens, though it's definitely not the norm.

I’m re-watching the whole series after disliking the new season. I gotta say, I loved Veronica in season 1, but now in season 3 she’s getting closer and closer to the unnecessarily bitchy and nasty Veronica from season 4, and I don’t like her or the show very much anymore.

A particular note about this episode: Weevil asks how Veronica could be with Logan after how Logan treated Lilly. But from all the flashbacks we’ve seen, Logan treated Lilly much better than she treated him. Veronica should have said something like “I know you don’t like him but I was friends with him and Lilly for years and we spent a lot of time together, and I can tell you he worshipped her, just like I did”. Why doesn’t she defend him? She lets Weevil get the last word about Logan treating Lilly badly, leaving it to sound like she agrees with him.

(Also, weren’t Logan and Weevil most recently working together last season to find out who killed Felix? I know they aren’t exactly friends but I thought they had a grading respect for each other at this point.)

Logan was someone who really pissed celeste off but not a lot of fun long term. Fortunately he would do something that would justify lilly in breaking up with him frequently. When they got back together he would  be all over her romntically for a while. Fun for a bit. Then he’d ask for greater evidence of her affection, cry and whine and be insecure. Not fun. She would blow him off a bit, he’d get drunk and flirt with someone at a party. Rinse and repeat.

separation anxiety. Logan has it. It worked for lilly but was hard on him. but claiming his behavior wasn’t assholish would be wrong, too.   Lilly liked the drama of it all, veronica was tired of it fairly soon.

Veronica certainly thought Lily was everything at the time she died but I’m nor sure they would have been friends the following year.

i liked veronica in both seasons 3 and 4 and felt for her in both. They are fairly similar seasons in structure.  I actually like stories about people who can be unlikable and rhe reasons behind it.  And face it, not common in stories about women.
