My sister wants to know what's up with Mika's scarves.  Old Mika is back. White short hair, boobs on high alert, Unitarian scarf. Bitching because the producer yelled at her for missing cues.  Promoting Joe's garage band. Was that a photo of Trump on the poster? So his band's hook is anti Trump music?  After about 5 minutes of that the crowd must start yelling "put on the juke box".

I have to say I much prefer this to the low-energy doom and gloom and the wrinkled black shirt.

The band poster has Robert Mueller on it. I swear to God.

I cringe when they zoom in on Joe's face while he's speechifying. It looks so fake.

Agree - at least she's looking & sounding  like she cares, maybe FL didn't agree with her.   She's back to managing Joe's imaginary music career, and has a new Know Your Value offshoot, "Convince Your Mother to Know Your Value, because she always said you'd never amount to anything".

I couldn't tell if it was Trump, then I thought maybe it's Mueller.

"Good evening, I'm Joe Scarborough and I'm going to sing about the Special Counsel investigating whether the Trump campaign worked with the Russian gov't to throw the 2016 Presidential election".

Crowd - we'll see ourselves out.

Sometime between 6:30 & 7:00, they were talking about Harris' visit to New Hampshire, and I swear to God Mika said Kamala Harris' prebottle to Sanders", when she meant "rebuttal".  She said it more than once.

I dunno, but when she introduced Bill Weld she described him as the former vice presidential candidate on the "libitarian" ticket.

Did anyone else hear this?  Was she trying to make a joke that no one else got?

Mika uses a lot of weird word salad language, but in this case she was using the word "prebuttal" correctly. Here: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/prebuttal

I never knew there was a word "prebuttal"....origin from the 1990s according to the link above....learn something everyday, though usually not from the MJ show 🙂

me neither. Probably help if she pronounced it correctly, and didn't fumble over it. I bet staff wrote it for the piece and she was just reading off the teleprompter.

Did she even say "Harris' prebuttal  in anticipation of Sanders' response to her visit in NH"

I am grateful Morning Joe wasn't around when I was making all the disastrous life decisions of my twenties.   Mika and Joe would have known I was making bad decisions IN REAL TIME.   And then after everything went to shit, they would have congratulated themselves for being the only ones who saw it coming IN REAL TIME.

Wednesday Recap. Mika & Joe are on set together. The first topic was Manny Machado's 300M contract with San Diego. Joe & Barnicle said these contracts never work out & the Padres are doomed. Mika did not like the baseball talk and scolded the panelists that this should only be done when they are not on camera.

Trump tried to appoint one of his friends on the Cohen trial. Joe is outraged. Joe said it is obstruction of justice.

Joe said every one is used to Trump interfering in court cases.

Katty Kay is freaking out over Flynn trying to give nuclear technology to the Saudis.

Barnicle said institutions are under attack by Trump.

I thought they did a surprisingly good job with the McCabe interview. Everybody contributed to a substantive line of questioning.

It also showed why the show is so much better when everyone is in studio. None of those disjointed transitions or Mika's "I'm still here!" off camera groans.

Joe is happy that Klobuchar said no to progressive policies. Mika likes Bernie Sanders.

Joe likes Biden. He said he can beat Trump. Willie said Biden is popular in Scranton & with white working class.

Jim Vanderhei is skeptical of Bernie.

I watched the Mc Cabe interview for only 5 minutes, but during the entire 5 minutes Joe was CONSTANTLY interrupting him and cutting off his sentences. Geez--Mc Cabe is quite a "get" and you can't shut up and let him talk?

She's right.  I switched off even before she got around to scolding them.   I'm sick of the man-cave bullshit.

ETA: Obnoxious as it is, it couldn't hold a candle to that Led Zeppelin nonsense yesterday.   They played "Whole Lotta Love" throughout the first two minutes of the show, so loudly that it was difficult to hear what the hosts were saying.   If the intent was to reproduce the experience of car-pooling to high school with my male friends in 1978, bravo, mission accomplished.   But if the actual purpose was to show us how cool and hip Joe still is at 56 ... not so much.

I didn't "see" the whole interview but I did hear most of it and you can tell the majority of the panel took it very seriously and it showed up in their questions (Barnicle actually sounded like a journalist for a change).  What I noticed most was Joe behaving like a spoiled brat who cannot bear to not be the center of attention.  His questions at the end were tedious in that he knew McCabe couldn't answer them fully if at all and Old Country Lawyer should have known that but he just had to go all Grizzly Bear and rear up on his hind legs to show who's in charge and the Real Star.  McCabe has to be exhausted by now doing all of these back to back interviews knowing lawyers are just waiting for him to say something they can use against him.

Joe said Willie will be dancing in a cage.

That's the only way they can get him there. They put him in a cage and won't let him out.

I was very surprised how well they behaved for McCabe. Of course Joe had to grand stand, but for the most part, they handled it well.  The thing is, they don't very often have an interviewee with such compelling information that they take up an entire hour of the show.

Left to their own devices, they can't come up with much other than TRUMP IS BAD, ROCK STAR, KNOW YOUR VALUE, LOOK AT ME.

The short panel discussion after the interview was good too.

The maddening thing about interviewing him with a panel MJ style just takes away the serious nature of McCabe. He's not a bullshitter.

Are CNN's studios close to 30 Rock?  I saw McCabe on set with CNN this morning at the gym and said to myself, "That's a pretty big get.  I guess our team of goof balls couldn't pull it off."  Looks like I was wrong.

I watched from home until after the gentleman with the long face finished his examination of a Biden run and Joe asked about Sanders, and he essentially dismissed him.  Then Mika started twitching, making short syllables, blinking, and Joe said, "What.  What is it? What are you doing?"  "And she said, we're doing it again.  I'm not letting it happen. We're doing it again and I'm not letting it happen.  It's happening again.  We're just going to let it happen?"  And joe was like, "Huh?"  And she said, "Sanders is who everyone supports and has the popular support and the media just isn't going to cover him."  And I clicked it to ESPN to put that twitchy idiot in my rear view.

FYI. Anderson Cooper interviewed him last night followed by Lawrence O'Donnell and this afternoon he will be on with Nicolle Wallace.

Well they were sure covering him yesterday. WTF is she talking about? They covered him in 2016.

McCabe was also on Colbert last night, but that could have been taped Monday night.

Does she know how much Sanders wants to tax Joe's & her income? I thought socialism was a non starter in the Scarborough house.

Mika's so dopey.

If she's so worried about Bernie not getting enough media coverage she can watch him live in a CNN town hall with Wolf Blitzer on Monday.

This. I actually really enjoyed it. I even thought Mika had a great line of questioning  with McCabe when she asked what the "mood" was like re the 25th amendment discussions. I have often wondered how seriously this is taken behind closed doors.

OMG, here goes Joe again with the rape rooms and spiked punch and now he’s dragging the Smollett thing into it and Mika’s ranting about due process. She doesn’t seem to understand that this IS due process. An accusation was made, it was investigated and found to be problematic, and now someone has been charged for making the false report. And guess what? It will be adjudicated and decided and THAT IS WHAT DUE PROCESS IS.

It is infuriatingly ironic to hear them now condemning Smollett, who might indeed be guilty, but you know what? DUE PROCESS.  Let’s let this thing play out and get the full story.

Twenty minutes of Joe and Mika whining and acting horrified that the same person they allowed on their show to spew hate, and didn't cut him off immediately, three years later is still doing the same thing.

Their so concerned today attitude is pathetic.

I wonder how much of this obsession is driven by accusations/theories about the death of his intern. Which was reignited not by metoo, but by a tweet from their BFF Trump.

I got a good laugh when Barnicle started gesturing with a plastic knife.

At the end of the 8:15 segment the camera panned to a blackboard that said "welcome to' and listed about 8 names.  New interns?? Of course, the blackboard said WAYFAIR--product placement!

Around 7:20 Joe was shrill-ly screaming over some female guest.  Lordy he is AWFUL.

Christ on a Cracker. Mika, now  used the Smollet case to primly intone that everyone went overboard with coverage over Cavanaugh. Glass house meet rock.

I think that was Kristin Soltis Anderson, and good for her - she just kept talking and refused to let him cut her off. And at the end of his rant, she said, "Joe, you're putting words in my mouth that I didn't say." He was flabbergasted!

And just fuck Mika and her opinions over Kavanaugh coverage. I think she's still stunned by all the pushback she got when she tried to broker a "reconciliation meeting" between Halperin and all the women whose faces he shoved his genitalia into.

In the final guest segment there was a regular guest on who had written a book.  The segment before had something to do with Bernie Sanders, and as they kicked it to commercial Mika said we're going to have an expert on who will explain Bernie Sanders' immense popularity.
And as they came out of commercial Joe and Mika both mentioned that this upcoming thought leader is going to break down why there is this politico-social groundswell that buoys Sanders.
The guy comes on, and never mentions Bernie Sanders' name - not in his whole segment and nobody interviewing him in the studio asked about Sanders.  His book was about Donald Trump and poor white Americans losing hope, feeling existentially displaced and without a community.
So either they didn't read the book, didn't listen to their producer, or are trying so damn hard to make Mika seem like a Bernie Bro.  I guarantee they want that dude to be a friend of the show so they can surf his controversial popularity.

My frustration with the last segment is that they are always running out of time and sometimes have less than 5 minutes available for the last guest. They should either ensure that there is enough time for the last guest (which would mean shortening the re-run segment) or scrap the last gueat altogher and use that time to talk about sports./pets, etc.

Kudos to the show for that first 15 minutes of indignation and outrage.  It actually sounded genuine.  Good on them for calling out Mitt Romney (remember when he was the Last Good Man just a few weeks ago, Scarbro?).  I'm not as worried as Donny about Trump cultists taking to the streets.  Americans are lazy.  They might try to start a civil war from their keyboards, but I think that's as far as it'll go.

The first 20 minutes of the show are devoted to the non reaction of trump of the assassination  plot against democrats.

Joe and Mika are outraged at trump's silence.  Why?

I'm outraged at the silence of the DOJ.  Although, the judge didn't let the guy out on bail but will give law enforcement two weeks to come up with more evidence.  That's reassuring,

During the discussion about the coast guard plot, Willie mentioned that the guy had been searching for people’s houses and zooming in on them. Although Willie didn’t mention it, it was Joe’s house the guy was searching for. Fortunately I think he found Joe’s former home.

I, personally, am going to refrain from posting anything about Joe and Mika’s personal whereabouts for the foreseeable future.
