Are they fucking kidding with this bullshit??  The media knows polls don't reflect reality but they need something to get people to turn on the tv. The media knows polls are useless, and that you can get the response you want by asking the right question.

yeah i know...they'll say disappointingly close blah blah...but i almost had a nervous breakdown, so yeh, imma have 24 hours of some kind of happiness and energy and i'm actually looking forward to this, and even to MJ tomorrow...

He said that Trump isn't going away. He could end up trolling Biden for 4 years & still have rallies.

This would give Mika & Joe an opportunity to spend the next 4 years reacting to Trump's tweets & outbursts.

I could see Steve Kornacki in a pair of nicely pressed jeans (oymoron?), a pink oxford-cloth shirt and a loose tie.  Maybe new glasses; Heilemann (I think it is him) seems to enjoy experimenting with different frames.  Keep the cowlick.

Joe is so full of shit. He knows that Republicans have moved the goalposts so far to the right that formerly bipartisan ideas (immigration reform, participation in the world order, free market pollution controls like carbon pricing) have magically become the work of socialists wanting to destroy America. And he knows damn well that his congressional efforts to eliminate cabinet positions back when he was in office, was not a "moderate" position.

I'm watching a discussion between Rachel and Steve. Both favor consistent wardrobes, but I think Rachel's look is effortless and classic while Kornacki's . . . is the opposite. For example, his shirt collars are wide set and tend to look sloppy with the amount of action he engages in. (They are also meant to be worn with ties with a Windsor knot. Which is not how he ties his ties.)

He also rolls up his sleeves. We know he works hard. He's been on the network probably 30 of the last 35 hours (Ali Velshi got a turn on the big board.) He doesn't have to use that fashion shorthand. 

I think it would serve him well to dress sharper and look less like a harried college intern.

Off Topic here but.....

I usually watch Kasie at 5 am Eastern.  She seems genuinely enthusiastic about delivering the news at that time of day!

I was always impressed with her reporting, and the clarity with which she delivered her insights, but this is a different thing.

Joe complained about white evangelicals that are worried about liberal social issues. Joe said the Supreme Court is protecting religious liberty.

Barnicle spoke to a Trump supporter who complained about liberals on social media telling him what to think & what to eat.

Joe complained about Trump's Muslim registry.

Joe said his family & friends voted for Trump.

The camera was adjusted so Joe's head took up most of the screen.

Joe said America survived Bill Clinton & Donald Trump, so the Republic can survive anything.

Joe likes the Checks & Balances in the Constitution.

I did turn it on for 30 seconds this morning while Joe was bellowing about how Democrats insult the Cuban population of Miami by not kowtowing to them?  So if they're going to vote Republican anyway, what are Democrats supposed to do, Einstein? Reject the party platform so they win one county in Miami?  I don't recall anyone but Joe complaining about Miami/Dade.  I heard not one word about Joe or Kamala or the campaign outright insulting Cuban Americans. 

Hey Joe did you see how Biden did with the Hispanic community in the rest of the country?  

I think the anger Joe is exhibiting lately has more to do with the precarious position he is in right now, rather than the events of the day. 

My sister told me Mika was saying they LOVED being on Peacock and maybe they could be on Peacock more. 

Sure knock yourself out. Do us all a favor, go be on Peacock.  

I get the feeling this is Mika begging to keep a job once the show's ratings start tanking and Conde decides he's got a full bench of talent and doesn't need the headache of two overpaid egomaniacs.

I caught Ali Velshi in the a.m. with Katy Tur and Ayman, because, again, no sleeeep, and he was pretty good, at least a whole lot better at the board than Willie lmao. actually the three of them were a great team - they got into a really interesting discussion about voting in Canada, and healthcare

I heard Jake Sherman telling Katy and Aymin this around 4:30 am.   That Biden and McConnell have a somewhat good relationship and Biden will get some deals done.

Dave Wasseman said pollsters didn't make enough chages to their polling methdology.

Trump did better with black men & latinos.

Biden is up by over 3 million votes. So maybe the percentages are off, but overall, the polls were correct. 

The nitpicking of the media over the very thing they use to draw viewers drives me fucking insane.

I think it was a big advantage for Morning Joe to be able to spend the last few months reporting on polls that showed very strong support for Joe Biden.

It allowed Joe to repeat his talking points that Trump & the GOP was doomed.

Mika was very happy when she was reading the polls that showed Biden with a  big lead. 

If the polls had reflected the actual results, Mika would have been "cry reading" the poll results over the past few months which would have been difficult for viewers to watch.

On election night I watched NBC because I really enjoy Savannah and Lester, and (small voice) I don’t mind Chuck Todd or Kacie Hunt either. Was I the only one??  Anyway yesterday I watched badass trifecta Joy, Rachel, and Nicholle, along with Brian whom I also love. All I can say is all these hosts and guests are killing it. They are going around the clock and are being really careful with results as well. Bravo to them. Haven’t seen any Joe and Meeks and I’m fine with that. 
 

Kornacki and his uniform-well I’m old so I would like him to dress a little more professionally, especially on nighttime programs. However, he is so adorable and obvious geeks out on all this shit as much as I do so I can’t hate on him too much.

He hasn't changed clothes for three days. He is the college roomate you had to remind to take a shower. The kid who pulled an all-nighter, then sat in class during the final, tapping his pencil nervously on his desk, then shouting out "COME ON! YOU KNOW THIS ONE!"

I get tired of Joe lecturing Democrats about their philosophies, Joe you are not a Democrat so you should not even go there. The Democrats are not far-left, in fact, I would dare say that they are conservative Democrats..

As far as socialism goes, I wish people would take the time to look up the meaning of the word in a dictionary, sad!

Friday Recap.

Mika started off in a friendly mood by announcing that Biden has taken the lead in Georgia & is catching up to Trump in Pennsylvania.

Joe is wearing a navy blue sweater.

Joe said he predicted that Black voters would help Joe Biden win Georgia.

Kornacki ! showed up. There are many votes still outstanding in Pennsylvania. They are in counties that Biden is winning in. He is getting 75% of mail in balotts.

Joe blasted the pollsters for predicting that Biden would win Florida by 4-5%.

Joe looked at the DATA !. It's all about DATA yelled the Oracle of Orlando.

Joe said he knew that 75% of the mail in ballots in Pennsylvania would come in for Biden.

Joe predicted that Biden would win Pennsylvania by more votes than Trump won in 2016.

Joe blamed Trump for not promoting mail in ballots.

Kasie said people are sick of working with Trump, but they can make deals with Joe Biden.

Joe said Republicans told him that they want Trump to lose so they can get back to work building their careers.

Joe said the election was a repudiation of the Democratic party across America. They lost Senate seats they should have won.

He called Biden's win a one off!

Joe said that Abigail Spanberger was right to blast Democrats for trying to defund the police & using the word socialism.

Joe said that Democrats are doomed in 2022.

Kasie said that Jim Clyburn told Democrats should stop talking about socialized medecine & Medicare for All.

Does Mika always tell Joe what he actually meant when he said something? Joe went back to explain how important Bernie was to Biden’s campaign and Mika two or three times interrupted to say “what you meant earlier...”.  Since when does that happen?
