I like Rosanna Arquette.  In fact, I like the Arquette family. I actually like Patricia, her sister even more.  Most of them were or are in the entertainment field.  I'd like to know more about their family, upbringing, etc.  Entertainment and the arts, seem to run in her family, even with her parents and grandparents, from what I have read.  She was born in NY, but, seems to have strong CA connections.

Her grandfather was Cliff Arquette...AKA Charlie Weaver.

I hear you.  And I feel we're all friends here and would never insult another's intelligence over something so silly as an 80's Toto hit.  I really do think this particular trivia nugget is a generational thing.  If you were a toddler, it's easy to see how you missed the chatter about Rosanna.  But it really did seem to be common knowledge that transcended race.  I'm black too and Mondrianyone is not exaggerating to state:

It's just surprising that Andy, who's such a pop culture junkie, wouldn't have known it.  Or who knows? Maybe he didn't become a pop culture connoisseur until later in life.  It makes me laugh now but I had NO IDEA that The Village People were gay until I was an adult.  I almost want to call myself an idiot for that one!

LOLOL.  It's all love, Chenoa333!  I borrowed that phrase from Wendy Williams who describes herself as, "a woman of a certain age." Just a way of acknowledging that we've got a few years of experience under our belts.

yes, it is all (mostly) love here on the PT forums. Lol. I was directing my comment towards WW because she's a "friend in my mind"" I was talking to her thru this forum. HeeHee! She just makes me feel crazy for a moment when she uses her phrase "a woman of a particular age"! Lol

I have no idea who Charley Weaver is. I looked it up and I've never seen a single thing this man has been in.

I mostly remember him from Hollywood Squares. I am a woman of a certain age!

Lol! That's the only show I ever saw Charlie Weaver on but I was a little girl at the time he was on. I watched whatever my grandparents tuned in to. He was kind of funny. Didn't know the Arquette lady was related to him.

This forum is cracking me up!  I'm a man of a particular age myself.  "Rosanna" is one of my favorite songs ever, and it makes me sad that such a killer song is probably unknown by a young generation (until somebody samples it).  My sister and I used to watch the video and fight whether it was Rosanna Arquette dancing in the video.  This was before the internet so I couldn't 100% shut my sister down.  I should text her and see if she still think it's Rosanna.  It's actually Cynthia Rhodes.

Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" is about Rosanna as well.  That one I can understand not being common knowledge.

Interesting. Sounds like Rosanna made quite an impression on the music scene, especially with the song writers.

I wonder what she did that was so intriguing to these musicians that they wrote songs about her.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't because she looked cute serving hor d'oeuvres on a platter.

He was probably famous before your time, but, his son, Lewis, Patricia, David and Rosanna's dad, had a recurring role on The Waltons, which is also a very old show from the 70's.  I think the Arquettes just have entertainment and good looks in their blood.

Okay, I've had enough of the boobage on this show.  Last night we have to endure the bared breast of one of the Shahs of Sunset women.  WHY do these women think that the world is dying to see their nipples? They seem to be in a contest to show the most breast. It's not longer about cleavage, it's just show the entire thing.  How deluded can that be.  Most of them don't even have attractive breast. (And normally, it's women over 40. Trying too hard, I think.)  It's like they are forcing people to see them exposed. Andy needs to allow the viewers an option of having a bar come on the screen to cover up their breast.  I couldn't even watch the one last night. Turned it off.  I'm boycotting any upcoming episodes in which I have to see bare nipples on this show.  Enough, already.  Oh,....I'm going to apply the same policy to the Housewives reunion shows too, but ,that's for another forum. lol

Even if they had great breasts. I'm over the cleavage. I'm over the flashing. I don't care.

I watch some pretty question able stuff, but the Shaw's of Sunset, and MJ in particular are too awful for me to watch regular. Puhleeze.

I still watch mainly bc of the food porn. They also take some cool trips. AND I think there are some real friendships there, so when they fight, the feelings are real.

Good question. Maybe when he's tired of playing around on Fire Island!

I rarely watch this sleazefest anymore, but I noticed the lovely Laura Linney was scheduled to appear, so I DVR'd it.

I'm so glad I did!  Despite AC's best efforts to push it in the gutter LL kept it classy and witty.  Troye Sivan, someone wth whom  I am not familiar, was charming and delightful.  LL & TS shared a very easy chemistry.  One of my favorite episodes.

So Bravo is doing it's "updated" version of The Peoples Couch with Jerry O'Connell as host. Forgot what the new show is called. I'm not even mildly excited but I'll check it out. Or, even better, I won't watch but come here to find out what my PT peeps have to say! ❤

I'm under 40 and was a toddler when the song came out. I'm also Black. When the song came out, Andy Cohen was a 14 year old closeted jewish baseball loving in St. Louis. Maybe no one in his life was talking about Rosanna being inspired by Rosanna Arquette. The other thing Andy admits is that as a child he would not shut up. Perhaps he never let anyone get a word in edgewise to pass on the Rosanna trivia.

I think a lot of people make assumptions that their experience is a lot more universal and typical than it really is. I was in the Royalty thread and people were talking about Harry and Meghan having kids. Someone wondered if their kids would have red hair like Harry or Malcolm X. There were some people who shocked to find out that Malcolm had red hair. I thought everyone knew Malcolm had red hair, but I realize my experience is not universal. That's why I would never suggest that someone is dumb or a moron for not knowing a particular dumb piece of trivia like the inspiration of a song.

And vice the hell versa lol.   I went to extremely non-diverse schools my whole life, through college.   Like 10 brown kids out of 3000 non-diverse.   Do you know that when asked during a bar trivia competition, the name of the band that sings "Don't Stop Believin"  I. could. not. do. it.   Lol.   I had to literally blame it on the alcohol.   I told my dude that story and he said are you serious?  I said why would I know that?  I mean sure it's a huge part of popular culture but it's a culture I didn't belong to.     I've gotten better, now I can recognize Sweet Caroline in the first 3 opening notes.

He's actually a big Deadhead and jam band aficionado in his real life. So I can see him as not particularly interested in remembering that detail if he heard it.

Everyone has stories like that. I just found out that Carly Simon's father founded Simon & Schuster, which makes her rent stabilized enormous Central Park West apartment doubly obnoxious.

Bitch.  Lol.  Fun fact though, I never knew that.

Andy's too messy to be a good host.  He'd make a fabulous gossip girl kinda friend but objective, get the info host is not his lane.  I'm fascinated by how/why he and my boo Anderson are besties

I don't hate Andy though I find him really troubling at times, but I gotta admit I scratch my head at that connection. It makes me think less of Cooper. We are known by the company we keep.

Thank you.  I'm of a certain age myself, so I just be walking off in the middle of my own thought bubbles.  You completed the rest for me.  It's like all the credit I gave him for not once mentioning he's a Vanderbilt and legit establishing a career as a serious journalist goes hurtling across the room along with my sideye as I look back and forth between them in my mind.

Who has Andy blacklisted from WWHL?

He did briefly prevent Lala and James from coming on. Jillian Michaels and Kathy Griffin. Kim Cattrall. For a very long time, he banned Brian Moylan from the show like even in the audience, but dropped that around 2012. Or maybe it was Richard Lawson. I can't remember.

Even though he may have banned Patti Stanger from appearing on his show I noticed that Bravo has been airing old episodes of Millionaire Matchmaker since sometime over the Summer. I just checked TitanTV's listings and more old episodes are going to be on after midnight tonight.

I love Chrissy Teighan but what has happened to her face? At first I thought she still was carrying her baby weight, but she doesn’t seem heavy otherwise. Is that what fillers do to your face?  The only other thing could be steroids which sometimes give you a “ moon face”. Still very attractive just looked different.

I thought the same thing. I am on prednisone and it does that to your face.
