S02.E14: Versatile Toppings

From IMDB: "Neptune High's closeted gay teens turn to Veronica for help when a blackmailer cracks into a private Internet bulletin board and threatens to publicly out everyone associated with the site unless they pay $5,000 apiece. Meanwhile, Keith continues to work on a case for Terrance Cook while looking into bus crash leads. Also, Logan romantically pursues Hannah, much to her father's distress.

 

Kristin Cavallari! Such a random piece of casting! I like this episode, I like that Mac protects the message board and all that. I thought the end of the mystery was a bit anticlimactic in that it was just dumb Kristin Cavallari's dumb "out my girlfriend" plan, but it was at least nice that there wasn't some evil homophobe tormenting the gay kids in school I guess.

Kristin Cavallari! Such a TERRIBLE piece of casting! Talk about bizarre, misguided stunt casting.  Did someone lose a bet?  Has there ever been a more lifeless line reading in the history of the show?  She makes Paris Hilton's cameo look like a stroke of genius.  Ugh.  

Every time Cavallari drones, "Sorry to blow your mind, but I'm a lesbian, Veronica" I visibly cringe and then yell, "ONCE MORE, WITH FEELING!"

This episode largely feels like filler while also fleshing out one of the kids who died in the bus crash.  

I just can't get past how much I hate Kristin Cavallari in this.

I agree, this one does feel like filler which I think was a problem for this season overall but at least it was enjoyable filler! Minus the awful casting.

Yeah, man was she terrible. I liked the ep overall, but yeah, the thing about 22-ep seasons is that they tend to induce a lot of filler. The Logan/Hannah being-an-open-couple parallel storyline is also okay, if slight.

I liked how Veronica's illicit tape that she was going to use to get back at Jackie now gets used to save her dad, sort of.

The pun title for this episode is gross.

Oh Jessie Shram, I knew I recognized Hannah from somewhere.  Nice to know dating her wasn't a complete set up by Logan, and he does seem to really like her, even if he did use her a bit to threaten the dad.

 

Guess I'll have to look up who Kristen Cavallari is, as she seems a little familiar.  Didn't much care for that whole story line of how she just wanted to out her girlfriend.  Funny how things change so much between high school and college, at least for some people.

 

I don't think Terrance killed the kids, at least by what's been shown.  But someone is sure setting him up to take the fall.  I thought Keith was a little slow in reminding the casino owner that Terrance can't pay his debts very well from prison.
