So... I think Maya is about to be attacked by an angry little bluebird.

Is this a Cinderella reference or is it Frozen? I'm struggling to keep up with all the pop culture references which makes me very sad. I need to make a list like Captain America.

Liam with anybody else except Hope is totally watchable, smart, and sweet. I loved his cousin chat today, although I kept waiting for him to point out to Caroline that she's still positively glowing whenever she talks about Ridge, so that might be a little clue right there that she ought to acknowledge to herself. It ain't over, baby!

Flawed. He's not watchable with Steffy either, or in any scenario where one must add syrup to enjoy.

It really isn't fun OR cool. I like him with Ivy, he actually does seem fun and cool with her and dare I say...human.

Caroline and Liam's conversation was quite interesting today. Was Caroline not the one who conspired to get her in soft porn and what not to get her away from Rick? Maya probably just took a page out of Caroline's book and played to win. Also, Rick rejected Maya UNTIL Caroline lied, betrayed and cheated on him with his brother. Why is that being overlooked and buried?

Do I think Rick went far? Yes.

Do I wish that I could understand his point with Maya (and I don't think its JUST about sticking it to Caroline)? Yes.

Do I wish Maya wasn't such a pushover? Yes.

However, this entire situation right now began because Caroline wasn't honest, lied and was all up on Ridge. The waxing poetic about him today, tells me that Rick wasn't too far off about Caroline and Ridge...nor was Maya.

And Liam can shut up because he doesn't respect vows.

The only reason one should ever go to Liam for relationship advice is to find out what he'd do and then go do the exact opposite.

And I think the writing is entirely too heavy handed to have Rick and Caroline reunite in some grandiose way, unless Maya will end up pregnant. B&B hasn't been on my 'To Watch' list in years, but I've never known them to be soo heavy handed in story writing. I also don't believe that Maya will go the psycho route because I think (as evidenced today) they are trying to bring her back to the old Maya and

they are giving her family.

Right.  That's why I just wish some of these characters would just be like, "Bruh.  Maybe it's karma."  But Liam was too busy getting married, grieving his dead child, grieving his dead marriage to Steffy and chasing after Hope who was also letting Wyatt chase after her to see what Caroline was up to.  Ridge, Aly and Ivy weren't even there, Carter is a piece of garbage and Marcus and Dayzee are gone.  Half of Caroline's hijinks haven't even been revealed to the other characters!

Of course they weren't wrong about Ridge & Caroline. Those two are obviously in love and not over anything yet. But here's my beef with Rick: When is enough going to be enough? How much more does he need to punish Caroline to finally call it even? He had every right to be pissed as all hell that his wife was unfaithful and fell in love with somebody else, especially his arch-nemesis, but how much MORE does he have to express that? Does Maya ever get to have a real relationship with him that doesn't revolve around hating on his wife? He's just being childish and cruel at this point. Annul the marriage and move on with Maya, but stop with the emotional abuse. Serve Caroline the legal papers and MOVE THE EFF ON with your new "love."

All of that being said, his behaving like a total jackass makes for some entertaining soap, because he's bringing the CRAZY right now.

I'm still not sold on Ridge and Caroline being in love. However, I do think that Rick needs to stop. He got everything he wanted now, why is he still making Caroline pay? I think it has everything to do with Ridge and a small part to do with Caroline. She chose Ridge over him like his father did, his mother did at times and everyone else has. I'm getting sick of the torture of Caroline and I don't even LIKE her.

If Caroline is being "tortured", 98% of it is her own fault.  A lot of this would go away if she would simply take Liam's advice (dun, dun, dunhhhh) and take NO for an answer.  Since the second he found out about Ridge and Caroline, Rick has consistently said he wants nothing to do with her.  Maybe she thinks she can change his mind or wear down his walls, but at the current rate, that won't happen until 2022.  I honestly don't even get why she's doing this since it's obvious she still has unresolved feelings for another man.  Is it guilt?  Or maybe she doesn't want to be the person who left a good husband for his brother.  Either way, I just wish she would stop lying to herself.

Caroline admitted today that the "last thing on her mind was her marriage".  Meanwhile, everyone else on the show continues with the "poor Caroline/evil Maya" routine.  It's a bit tiresome.

I always felt this was more on Steffy. Like the incredibly lame (2 MPH) motorcycle wedding. That girl actually made me prefer HOPE. *

Oh.  My gosh.  I was completely distracted in that first scene by Maya's boobies.  The couldn't have lined that lingerie?!

For some reason I had no problem with this. ;)

Maya's hair in the portrait is 1000 times better than the wig of distraction.

I just realized.... Where is Ridge living ? He should take the bathtub apartment, then we can guarantee the tub will go unused.

I don't know who is enjoying the reactions to the portrait more Rick or me.

I can't wait to see Ridge's reaction.

Not just today, but yesterday, immediately after she leaned outside Rick's office door and said to herself that it's not over, she saw Ridge and told him that he was the unattainable dream for every woman.

I haven't seen today's episode but I like the extra.  Caroline is wallowing in self-pity, which is actually an appropriate reaction to one's marriage imploding.  :-)

Liam appears to have short term memory issues though.  He was already with Ivy when Hope left and I don't remember her leaving with just a handshake.

Who is writing this stuff? I am stupified with the depth, and the understory being told. And the performances are just jaw dropping. It's as if the actors know they have something really good here, and they themselves are pumped up.

Jacob Young in particular is totally selling the anguished, tortured soul. He is so lost in his grief and pain, so blinded by his need for revenge, that he is alienating himself from everyone who has ever loved him, and who he has ever loved. His treatment of Pam today was totally uncalled for. I don't have enough fucks to give about how Rick felt toward Stephanie. The fact remains that Rick is a squatter in Stephanie's home, and Pam is Stephanie's sister, so go take a seat Rick, and have yourself a slice of freshly baked Irrevocable CEO pie, and serve it up with a nicely chilled can of STFU.

Go ahead, change Maya back into that sweet little thing we first met. She is still a predator, and an opportunist. Nothing will ever change that.

Are Ally and Ivy going to be Caroline and Rick's cheerleaders now? For heaven's sake I hope not. These two are far two talented to be wasted on such drivel. I was very impressed with Ivy's insight today. Such a smart Sheila.

Caroline and Liam were awesome. Liam justs lights up when he is interacting with anyone but Hope. He seems so natural and relaxed, and is so much more likable. But he really isn't someone I would seek out for relationship advise, although Caroline wasn't really asking for any. Even so, his advise was still pretty dead on.

Linsey Godfrey was also really, really good today. She looked so damn cute at Liam's with that fakely mussed hair. And that number she wore over to Eric's house? WOW! But watching her talk to Liam told me clearly where her heart is; I only wish she would own it and act on it. Ridge and Caroline would be one hot couple, and I could see something setting up pitting them against Rick and Maya, and taking Ridge and Rick's feud to the next level.

The entire cast looked gorgeous today. Now if only they could fix this hair thing.

Oh, I think "predator" is a little strong. No matter how much he whines, Rick is nobody's victim and certainly not Maya's. IMO Maya's definitely one to look for an opening and barge right through it though. I think Caroline ultimately has herself to blame for creating the opening.

Does CA have no-fault divorce? Can Rick just file the papers or does he have to prove some wrongdoing on Caroline's part? Hope she didn't sign a prenup because potentially taking half his stuff (including whatever interest he has in FC) might end up being her only weapon since they don't have any kids.

Where's Uncle Bill? It seems natural that Caroline would run crying to him with all of this. Personally, I'd like to see Bill knock the shit out of that little pissant Rick. Pick up where he left off with Ridge. Rick needs to just back off and drop it. Is this punishment of Caroline going to just go on and on? I seriously can't think of one more awful thing he could do to her.

Yeah. Why doesn't Rick just go ahead and file for divorce? What's stopping him? If he still loves Caroline, then own it, but he's gotten himself in to deep to turn back, IMO. Caroline needs to just give it up. All of this groveling and "we need to talk," needs to stop like yesterday. Give it up, especially if your heart is with Ridge.

Liam's talk with Caroline was laughable. He made it sound like Steffy just dropped to earth like a meteor. Uh, no she didn't. I was picking up undertones of throwing blame to Steffy and Wyatt for Liam's failed attempts with Hope. Not the case. Liam allowed both to interfere. (Well, he did half-ass try to contain Wyatt.)

Good grief, that was painfully inaccurate but still the closest thing to self realization he's ever demonstrated on this show. It's more than we'll ever get from Hope, I'm sure.

Despite this, the one thing this SL has been good with is something that's been missing for years--showing family relationships. Ivy and Aly are cousins and they're talking like friends. Same with Caroline and Liam who I don't think have shared a scene in months and that I honestly forgot were cousins as well. Now, if only Donna were to get in Rick's ass over his behavior till Brooke is back to do it herself and tell him families don't throw knives in one another's back (since neither Katie or Brooke have any credibility on this score).

Oh, I think "predator" is a little strong.

And I don't think so at all. Maya made the choice to get engaged to Carter right after breaking up with Rick; if she still had feelings for Rick, or felt that she didn't get a fair shot at the "good life", then she should have made a different decision. Then after months of engagement, Maya wakes up one day and decides that she once again wants that shot at the brass ring, and set out to get a very happily married Rick back. She stalked him around the office, ambushed him in the steam room, then had the temerity to try and deflect attention from her behavior by throwing Oliver under the bus with that recording, something she could have played for Rick anytime. After her initial attempts to get Rick back failed, she started her campaign to roast Caroline and Ridge, and turned a hug into a full blown affair, making a colossal ass of herself with her outburst in a corporate board meeting. After achieving her goal of maximum damage and impact, she then stalks a very distressed and confused Rick to his mother's home, and once again, ambushed Rick. Now, this is the point I will start holding Rick's feet to the fire as well, because it does take two to tango, but Rick would have never gone there if Maya hadn't shown up offering the forbidden fruit. From that day forward, she has done nothing but push Rick to go for it all, telling him that he was "going to stick to the plan". So, at least for me, that all adds up to very predatory behavior.

I suppose my dislike of Maya stems from my visceral dislike of anything relating to infidelity, or mistresses, or kept women. I have dealt with this in my own life, not me personally, but someone very near and dear to me. And as the person who was there to deal with the emotional detritus left behind, I know how horrible, and miserable, and shocking, and painful, and humiliating the whole sordid business can be. For me, any women who allows herself to get into this type situation; whether they are the "other woman", the "mistress", or if they are kept; it is all the same to me, and they are the lowest common denominator. And of course Rick is right there beside Maya in my eyes. Rick is blind with rage, and I wonder if he even knows what he is doing. I don't for one second believe he loves Maya; he is using her as a tool to hurt his wife, who he loves more than life itself. But now Rick is pushing too far and too hard, and he is going to start getting some backlash. Spoilers say

Brooke comes back to town looking for blood. She comes gunning for Quinn, and she comes after Rick, and tries to reign in his delusional and crazy behavior.

That would be awesome, but spoilers have been known to be wrong.

But see, it was very clear to me that Rick and Maya weren't over by the way that Caroline broke them up (just like it's clear to me that Rick and Caroline aren't over by the way Maya broke them up).  Rick came back to Maya the day she got engaged to try to get her back and it was obvious to me that the same theme that recurred through their relationship ("Maybe you and Caroline make more sense") was what was prompting her to push him away, even though they both ended that conversation with "I love you"s.  Then, after she sat with her decision for a few weeks, she figured out that she was wrong and she went to get Rick back the day he got engaged.  So she took a page from Caroline's playbook and exploited Rick's lingering affection for her ("You're cute when you're coy..."); the only difference is she didn't have to manipulate or create a scenario that led Caroline to cross the line with Ridge.  Caroline did that all by herself.  Another reason I don't have a problem with her dropping the bomb on Ridge and Caroline without any "evidence" is two fold.  First being that you can "see" things without seeing them.  I have a friend and years ago, in the middle of the friendship, we liked each other, but didn't know it at the time.  We weren't doing anything out of the ordinary for us, but someone picked up on what we didn't and asked if we were dating.  Even though Ridge and Caroline were only hugging, she knew she saw more.  Second, she went for maximum damage when her minimalist approach didn't work.  She didn't go scorched earth immediately.  She told Rick and Katie on two separate occasions, they didn't believe her, so then she decided to go big or go home.

Like I said before, I don't love Rick and Maya (I don't hate them, either), but I'm not here for the characters treating Caroline like this isn't karma coming back to bite her in the ass.

RuntheTable, weren't you a Brooke and Bill fan?  I don't know how you can call what they did anything but infidelity.  Your dislike of Maya might just come from the fact that you like Caroline better :-)

In a way, I wish they would have just let Maya come on and either be likeable or unlikeable based on her character, but she was barely on a month before Caroline started targeting her.

Right before Stephanie went away to die, she pulled a grieving Pam aside and told her, "I'll always be that little bluebird looking over your shoulder."

So, occasionally, when Pam is having an emotional moment, she'll look out and see a bluebird. It's a kind silly, very sweet and comforting thing between two sisters.

To kia112: that Maya as a character has never been explored is something that has bugged since forever. Why give her a background as having been to prison and losing a child if nothing is done with it? Like Liam and his being dragged by anose for years, there's no set up as to why she's gone from wide eyed ingenue that was concerned with social issues to parading around the Forrester homestead. Since TPTB haven't missed a beat on this yet, I'm optimistic that perhaps her past will come into play down the road.

Since I hated Stephanie with the fire of a thousand suns and that bitch was totally dead to me when she orchestrated Brooke's rape, I am gleeful over the portrait. Serves the dead hag, right, and hope she is spinning in hell right now.

A word about Maya turning a hug into a full blown affair. Um, no, Ridge and Caroline did that all on their own and sex or no sex, it was an affair and still is an affair because she is still hung up on Ridge. Just because Maya didn't know the full truth when she outed them doesn't negate what really happened. I agree with kia that she picked up on things because they gave off enough smoke to signal a forest fire.

Caroline does need to move on and if Rick does come to his senses, well, too little, too late, for him, because I agree that he is taking this too far. But at least he has told her, once and for all, that their marriage is over. A thing she should have done with Rick before she acted on her feelings for Ridge or at least share the direction her thoughts were heading.

Listening to her today with Liam and the other day with Ridge, I don't see this as some big love. The way she gushes about him, all starry-eyed and breathless, isn't love. At its worst, a teenage crush, at best, it's limerance. What she had with Rick was real love, a mature love, where, when they got engaged, she became less scatter-brained and more focused, more caring of others, while still retaining some of her silly, self-absorbed nature. I grew to like that Caroline, but now, watching her weep over Rick and Maya in the same breath that she is singing Ridge's praises, ugh, I can't stand her.

I know Caroline is mad, but how she didn't just bust out laughing at Maya's "this portrait means I'm the new leader of the family" stuff, I'll never know.  That's really the only appropriate response to that shit.

As for who's done bad, while I prefer Caroline and Ridge to Rick/Maya so much that they're not even in the same universe, I do acknowledge that everyone is in the wrong, to varying degrees.  And while what Caroline did was probably the worst thing a woman could do to Rick, I feel like, at least, she kind of fell into it (not an excuse, by any means).  Maya and Rick have both been intentionally shitty.  Until Caroline sets up house with Ridge and calls Rick to come over "and talk" so she can blindside him with Ridge's prominence in her home, Rick's still being the bigger ass here.  If he doesn't want anything to do with her anymore, file for divorce and move on with Maya.

I'm a little confused by the writers and what they are doing with Caroline and Ridge.  At first (given the age gap) I wanted it to be more of a Mac and Rachel (Another World) love affair but couldn't really think of what CaRidge gives them that the other relationships in their lives didn't.

Maybe I'm over-thinking it but until I see differently onscreen, I'm just going with the artistic partnership filling that need.  Ridge needed a helping hand - literally- and still needs something fresh with a new perspective, Caroline needed a glimpse into the real artistry of the designs that were in Ridge's head and what she could do if she got to that next level.  Add the artistic rush to plain old physical attraction - that has to be incredibly compelling.  And all the ingredients are there for it to become something greater than the sum of its parts.  Hey, it worked for Bogart and Bacall. :-)

I don't disagree with you (TM Maya).

I'm so glad they showed those flashbacks of Caroline being a jerk.  That one where Caroline was in the yellow was right after Maya broke it off with Rick because Bill threatened to send Maya back to jail (on Caroline's behest) and the one where she was in a towel on Rick's bed was the morning after she followed an already drunk and hurt Rick back to his place after she dropped a bomb about Maya and Carter, gave him more wine and draped herself all over him, telling him that she would be everything Maya wasn't.

Liam, thank you for telling Ivy that she wasn't around when Rick and Maya first got together..  And where did her beauty mark go?

When Maya said, "No one's replacing Stephanie," I swear she looked and sounded just like Brooke!  Caroline asking Maya about Rick's reputation was laughable.  First of all, these are the Forresters -- this is their reputation.  Second, Rick got a reputation as a cuckold thanks to Caroline, so...

I liked Maya's dress and her general styling today.  I also like that Caroline, Ivy and Liam all got an earful today to refute the narrative they were telling themselves: that Rick is only with Maya to get back at Caroline.  It's a reason, but not the only one.

I, too, would have laughed at "the next Forrester matriarch" thing.  Not long ago, Eric was promising that title to Taylor.  We see how that went.

But let them get together, to give their fans something, I suppose, and let Caroline's eyes be opened to who Ridge really is - a selfish, self-absorbed man-child who, once the shiny newness of his partner wears off, is trolling for something new. If that's what she wanted, she could go back to Rick and he was completely devoted to her before she betrayed him.

And, FWIW, I will walk on hot coals before I'd support Rick with Maya.

I took a little break from watching, and because of scenes like one ones mentioned here, I was shocked to return to Caroline & Rick getting married.  I guess the writers thought it would be convenient to put them together, but I always thought the marriage didn't make a whole lot of sense in the first place.

Rick is sounding like he's totally gone off the deep end. When he was talking to Liam and Ivy, his voice was SO fake, like he was trying to convince HIMSELF that he believes what he's saying.

Ha!  I thought he sounded crazy yesterday.  "SO I PUT UP A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF MAYA."  Maybe it was Fire Marshall Bill that he reminded me of.
