B&B: What's Up Today at Forrester Creations? - Daily Chat

Recommended Posts

Again, Shauna and Quinn are discussing the big secret where they could be overheard. What is wrong with these people? 🤯

I wish Carter would just take off the gloves and cuss Paris out. She will never stop climbing up his a$$ about Quinn unless he tells her in no uncertain terms that she has to STFU about it.

Why did Steffy need a midwife if Finn is a doctor?

Paris is the absolute last person I expected to see at that vow renewal. How nice that she didn't even bother to change clothes from what she wore to work.

Loved Quinn's dress. Didn't hate Flo's dress either though it was a little rude IMO to wear such a bright color. Guests shouldn't upstage the bride. Shauna struck the right tone, I think.

Ridge, so what if Carter doesn't think Quinn is right for Eric? They're already married. Boy are the scales about to fall from your eyes re your BFF Carter.

And there she is, supervillain Quinn. Paris, you in danger, girl. Quinn does not make idle threats.

And Ridge certainly didn't hide his feelings about the marriage when he was told about it. I swear he was less confrontational about him marrying Sheila and she had a confirmed body count.

Unlike Dr. Bridget, Finn is the one and only doctor in LA who is not a specialist in everything.

I did think he was really goofy about being an expectant father vs being a doctor. I was expecting him to either don the hair and make-up Ricky Ricardo wore for his son's birth or start babbling, "Liberty biberty".

I’m in the minority in preferring Quinn over Brooke but I just can’t stand her voice, her facial expressions, her giggling like a teenager, her hypocrisy, her vindictiveness, and she thinks that she’s a Queen where boundaries do not apply to her.  Brooke is a nothing that just married well many times over.  Brooke once again shows she’s what I hate about her. Brooke, Eric and Quinn are married it’s only a vow renewal. Do you expect Quinn to run downstairs, run out the door and never to be seen again?  Paris, your not the hall monitor of moral turpitude.  Tell or don’t tell but you have no business coming into Quinn’s bedroom and giving her a tongue lashing.  Of course Brooke is lurking at the bedroom door because that’s what Brooke does.

Not trying to change your opinion about her, but just chiming in to say that the bolded sentence is not really true.  Brooke saved FC with her BeLieF formula and was the CEO for a while, so she's actually successful in her own right and not just a serial trophy wife.

How rude of everyone to bring up Carter's "affair" with Shauna (yeah in a way he deserves it and worse bc of what/who he actually did, but they don't know that yet).   It's so forced the way an ostensibly normal hookup gets brought up like it's this big scandal all of a sudden.

Same with sleazy Ridge.  I hate how he talks to Carter like he's stupid or something.   And how you and Brooke feel about Quinn?  Brooke is one thing.  But Ridge was actively involved in one of Quinn's big schemes that hurt Eric (and Brooke), and was his typical self righteous ass self when he got caught.

Paris...yikes.  Girl was out of her mind to push it this far.

Such a lively, fun, upbeat, and happy wedding renewal! Let's see, of the 6 guests, three are for, and three are against, with the officiating officiator casting the deciding vote. And well, he has been shagging the wife to be! Oh yes, I guess it is just all in a day's work; right?

And what kind of wedding is this anyway? Eric didn't invite his grandkids? Hope? But he invites Paris? Show used to know how to do this kind of thing with class and panache. The shit we get today is sad.

And wait until Brooke browbeats Paris about her conversation with Quinn; because you just know she will. Overhearing Quinn threatening Paris? Oh yeah, Brooke is gonna take a deep dive into that mess real quick and in a hurry.

Now, that is the Quinn I know; combative and nasty. Why couldn't she have been that way with Paris from the start? She is no safer now than she was a few days ago when she was on her knees begging. And no Quinn, you would not be able to do anything to Paris's job, because Eric will have kicked your no good ass out of his life, his house, and his company. You will have no power over anyone.

Do they really set up kiddie swimming pools for home water births? I imagined that would be done in the bathtub or something. But I have to give them props for going there; too often pregnancy is treated as a medical condition, and not a natural part of life.

Poor Thomas is missing out on so much; the birth of his nephew and his grandad's vow renewal. I wonder what he is doing in his wire cage?

For once worthless Flo actually looked like a grown up.

Eric looked incredibly sharp.

I do not like Brooke's dress; the color is pretty, but it washes her out. And these high waisted belts just cut her in half, and almost make it look like she has had some work done in the chest area. Mr. R was watching a bit of the show yesterday and commented on how "Your girl had a boob enlargement", but I think it is just the dress.

I don't like RS with her hair pulled back like that; she looks very harsh. But I did like her dress, and it was very appropriate for Quinn.

Why was Steffy in a backwards position for giving birth?  I guess that is normal as they were showing it that way but it looked weird.  I guess the gown she had on was a Forrester creation for giving birth!  Did she deliver Kelly at home?

I’m pretty sure that Caroline II had an at-home water birth with Douglas. If I recall, it was upstairs at the Forrester estate, because Thomas was roaming around downstairs, waiting/stalking, but that was before he knew that he was the bio-dad. I remember because, IRL, my son is within a month of Douglas, & I certainly didn’t look or feel like she did after birth. Maybe there’s something to water births.

Quinn was so dumb to do a vow renewal with so many people who hate her, & are actively trying to end her marriage, in attendance. Nothing good comes from that.

My brain is slightly crazy, but I had another thought from several months back. I’m still wondering what the benefit was to that concoction that Eric drinks, which Zoey used to ruin Zende/Paris’ night. It makes the stomach rumble like crazy, but was there a benefit? They never said anything about digestion, or probiotic benefit, I don’t understand why someone would just want to sound gassy all of the time, with no benefit. Unless I missed the explanation, it was just weird.

Because even when she's giving birth Steffy has to be Instagram-ready. 🙄

I could barely stand to watch those scenes, especially after Finn got in the pool with her. I mean, aren't there going to be various fluids coming out of Steffy? I should think it would be kind of icky for Finn to be sitting in all that. I doubt even as a doctor he's had to virtually bathe in...stuff. Oy.

I figured it was a health store version of powdered fiber. The show probably didn't want to get too specific about it because they can't be dispensing medical advice. However, I see ads for Metamucil and the like during this show all the time.

That position can actually help with delivery (gravity is a laboring woman's friend ala women who would squat down to give birth many eons ago). A friend of mine actually gave birth in the on-all-fours position as nothing else was working. She joked that this was how she got pregnant so it was fitting that this was how she delivered.

I have no words for the dress except it looked very uncomfortable. I would have worn a big, baggy t-shirt.

Kelly was delivered at a hospital.

Nearly every water birth I've seen involved as less clothing as possible. Like, a sports bra and maaaaaybe a t-shirt.

I know there are tv standards for the 11 to 2 time slot this show airs in, but a full dress?!

That's what ticks me off. As far as Quinn's sins go this is barely worthwhile as a notable entry but she's just been so damn boring and weepy and scared about it. She's threatened to end Liam over far less, for shit that had no direct effect on her life or her bank account.

Yep! From the articles I've read, people doing home births like to step in and out of them to move around during the process and to shift positions as needed (as Steffy did--@countrygirl is right on the money about this). Given how most tubs allow little room for one to sit for even a half hour, let alone the time of delivery, a kiddie pool makes sense.

On “Call the Midwife,” the midwives have the mothers get in whatever position helps to get the baby out!

I am weeping for all of the costly designer frocks that were probably ruined to be part of Steffy's maternity wardrobe. That dress from yesterday was a cheapy from Zara, but the gingham picnic tablecloth dress was a Balmain and cost more than $1100.

Actually spouses/partners can get into the pool as well, although if not at home, not all hospitals with a water birth setup will allow it. Obviously they aren't naked but yeah, MMV regarding level of comfort with the ick factor that is giving birth.

Given how this is written, you would think this was the original marriage ceremony everyone is trying to prevent instead of a vow renewal ceremony.

Some of the scenes in the kiddie pool looked like something else was going on instead of a woman giving birth.

For someone who’s given birth twice and just recently with the last one, JMW is a horrible actress. All she had to do was remember what she just experienced.

DR looked terrible in that dress she wore to the vow renewal. It was way too tight around the middle of her body. Not flattering at all especially considering how many dresses this show has to choose from.

I don't like Quinn's dress.  Rena Sofer/Quinn has interesting eyes.  Sometimes she looks beautiful, then other times she looks batshit crazy dangerous, depending on her mood, I guess.   Those clown eyebrows don't help either.

At least that's a real baby, unlike the robot baby on The Resident.

The real star of today's show.

What a cutie!

But I'm this regarding the name:

0mw1i8e.gif?w=300&h=169

Um, last time I checked, Hamilton was Taylor's maiden name (Hayes was the name of her first husband, Blake, who turned out to be a psycho in the end). But if TPTB don't bother to stick with the show's history, onscreen no less, I guess I can't expect the characters to follow suit.

Annnd here comes Brooke to spill some tea at the Queric renewal:

Annnd here comes Brooke to spill some tea at the Queric renewal:

You're absolutely right. Taylor's maiden name was Hamilton. She did keep her first husband's last name professionally because it was the name under which she started her career (and I think he funded her med school education?) but it beggars belief that they would give that name to her grandson. I can understand Finn not knowing, but Steffy?? And somebody in the writers' room must know too, since Hamilton was the middle name given to Taylor's one-time son, Jack Marone.

But jeez, how hard is it to come up with an original name instead of always a namesake? (Who was the last baby to receive an original name: Hope? I suppose Beth has Avalon as a middle name.) And of all the namesakes to choose, why Taylor, who is nowhere to be seen during her children's various crises, a loose cannon who tried to murder the grandfather of Steffy's other child, and who dragged her into a black market baby scam? Ridge, Eric or Forrest would make more sense. FF (Forrest Finnegan) would be an apt name for the couple that spawned him. (Too bad the male version of Phoebe is the very unappealing Phoebus. I still think Phoebe should've been Kelly's name, instead of a character we never met.)

And yeah, I also thought the water birth scene, which dragged on for way too long - really, two whole episodes for a nontraumatic birth? - resembled something else entirely with shirtless Finn in the water with Steffy, clutching and kissing her incessantly.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow and Brooke blowing up Quinn's marriage. Hopefully Quinn doesn't wiggle her way out of it somehow. Why didn't Paris come down with Brooke to back her up?

That would be Amber and Marcus's daughter Rosie, which is still a helluva stretch.

As egregious as naming the baby Hayes is, the one that truly takes the cake as Thorne and Darla naming Ali (full named Alexandria) after Macy, the wife and friend they both betrayed in the conception of said child. Talk about chuzpah!

How many times does this have to be said but I guess it’s as many times as dialog has to be repeated day in and day out.

IT’S ONLY A VOW RENEWAL!  IT’S NOT LIKE THEY ARN’T ALREADY MARRIED.

So Paris finally spilt the beans on Quinn and Carter to Brooke of all people. Now Brooke is in all her glory to tell Eric and everyone else. Like always,  Brooke HAS TO WIN!  To me, Paris and Zoey are going to be the only ones to loose. I’m sure there will be a tiny sword in Paris’ future and Zoey won’t have Carter.

That was a weird birthing scene. I  thought it look like more making a baby than birthing one.

Brooke forgot who she was? She slept with her son-in-law. She bounced and cheated all over Ridges father, brother, her daughter's husband, her sister's husband. Who is she to claim she's holier than thou over Quinn?

I don't disagree that Brooke has no room to judge but given the truly heinous shit Quinn's done while making her judgments about Brooke and coming in between her relationship to Ridge, it's so hard for me to care. Brooke has a long standing friendship with Eric, which is more than I can say for Paris and her histrionics over a sister who can't stand to be on the same continent as she.

Is Donna really still carrying a torch for Eric? That sorry old sack?

Funny how faces and noises that would be verboten during a sex scene are perfectly fine during a candlelit birthing scene. 😏

Holy carp, that was a big baby Steffy pushed out. And his skin was so smooth! 😉

Pssht, when is Hayes' grandma ever going to see him? Isn't she like deep in the Australian outback or somewhere, unreachable by modern communication methods? And what about his paternal grandmother? I don't recall Steffy ever asking Finn about his parents. Weird.

Went back and watched the scenes with Paris. It was Quinn herself who insinuated to Paris that she caused the stomach issues Paris had. As far as the audience knows, Brooke remains unaware of that little dirty trick Quinn helped Zoe pull on Paris. Thank goodness because I was about to go off on the writers for taking a lazy detour to create motivation for a character's behavior.

KKL dress isn’t flattering on her at all. She’s getting older but the pattern, color and non shape of the dress looks horrible. Hopefully, wardrobe burned it after the taping of the wedding You know they are going to be in that living room for a couple of weeks, at least. LOL!!!

While Paris annoys me with walking around Forester like she owns it I will say the actress has come a long way in her acting compared when she first started. She really has a great look and I wouldn’t be surprised if she bolts once her contract is up. She’s young and would probably do well on a WB type of show. I hate to use the term training ground but to someone young like her it’s great experience and pay when you’re just starting out. She’s a heck of lot better then the actress who plays Zoe. I don’t know how she made it through casting for Fantasy Island. That said, it might be a small role with little dialogue since she isn’t the star and they probably will have so many guest stars each week cutting into her screen time. I’m sure she’s probably making double the money daytime offers with less hours and dialogue. It ain’t a bad gig.

I thought Rosie was short for Ambrosia - Amber named her kid after herself.

Let's see: Thomas (Hamilton), Jack (Hamilton), Will (Logan) and Beth (Avalon) are the only kids with middle names, as far as we know.

Thomas, Phoebe and Hope are the only ones with original names (well, Thomas is named for the island of St Thomas, just as Beth's middle name is derived from the island where she was born - and promptly stolen - but I think those are original enough). Did Margo name Mark after herself, or was that original, too?

ETA: I suppose Diana Marone, Sheila's supposed baby with Massimo, was also an original name - if indeed she was their child.

After that we had:

  • CJ (Clarke)
  • Rick (Eric)
  • Bridget (Brooke + Ridge)
  • Little Eric III (Eric & Rick) / DJ (Deacon)
  • Steffy (Stephanie)
  • Margaret/Mary/Erica Warwick (all namesakes)
  • RJ (Ridge)
  • Alexandria (Macy)
  • Nicole and Dino (Nick)
  • Jack (Jack Hamilton + Jackie Marone)
  • Logan (Brooke/the Logan family)
  • Will (Bill)
  • Lizzie (Beth Logan)
  • Douglas (Stephanie)
  • Kelly (Liam's mom)
  • Beth Avalon/Phoebe (Beth Logan again + Phoebe Forrester)
  • Hayes (Taylor, or rather Blake!)

Actually, now that I think about it, that's not a whole lot of births for a show that's been on the air for 34 years. Other shows have at least one birth a year. This averages out to about one every 2 years (once we exclude the stillbirths like the real Eric III and Nicole).

IIRC, those are the *only* two stillbirths in the show's history. I dunno when Brad took over but I heard it reported that Bill Bell was so torn up and grieved about the Scotty/Dylan story with Lauren on Y&R that he swore off any other similar stories ever again. Bill Sr had passed well before the Nicole story and the Amber/Becky story was fairly brief as far as those types of stories go. As that was the plot that bring me in as a teenager, I remember watching that play out the summer of '99 with the birthmark reveal taking place the Friday before school started because OF COURSE IT DID 😭🤣

Wish that Brad had even an ounce of that consideration for the audience before the Beth story made it past the first pitch, though. I swear I'd never seen B&B fandom so united against anything, with the possible exception of Flo's continued presence and the current godawful wardrobe.

It's supposed to be less traumatic on the baby bc of the fluid they're surrounded in...but no one let's the baby stay in the water. At most, the kid gets an additional five seconds to adjust before getting a metaphorical slap on the ass to breathe.

I entire agree that hospitals do not always have the best interests of parents in labor in mind and I support more pregnant people deciding to give birth at home (particularly people of color, and black folks in particular), but there are so many other options besides a water birth.

Angry Brooke gonna put an end to your marriage and you have only yourself to blame

Oh, Quinnie, you’re gonna be cryin’, you’re gonna be scared and all alone

And Brooke overheard

Never more to go astray

This will be the end today

Cause Quinn fucked Carter

Oh, Quinnie, you’ve been years on the lam and it’s high time you paid for your crimes

Brooke said “somehow I’ll get you”, now it’s for sure she’ll stop those wedding chimes

Dear Quinnie, you’re gonna be a cryin’, you’re gonna be scared and all alone

Brooke is comin’ down from the bedroom and you don’t have very long

The jig is up, the news is out

Paris sand like a songbird

The do-gooder sister talking to Quinn

And Brooke overheard

Never more to go astray

This will be the end today

Cause Quinn fucked Carter

The betraying wife

And she don’t wanna go, oh no

Oh, Lordie, stuff something in Brooke’s mouth

No, no, no, I can’t go

Rick and Amber’s daughter was also stillborn. They never named her.

And of course there’s Aspen, Steffy and Liam’s first child.
