Guess Donna didn't know what a lot of those Mediterranean yacht parties actually are, lol. She might end up in a harem. (Not saying human trafficking is funny. However, plenty of women go to those parties intending to get work as professional escorts for wealthy foreign men.)

DD was so freaking hot. Katie was a fool. But, ugh, Bill jumps from one sister to the other like he's just changing to a different pair of shoes. Why would either of the women want to be treated like that?

Guess the posters who usually hang out here aren't interested in the throwback episodes, huh? 😕

Unless the throwbacks are ones with original Ridge and free from Liam relationship drama, I probably wouldn't be tuning in, even if my local affiliate didn't preempt the show 4 days out of five for our governor's updates. I wasn't here for that tool's simpering behind Steffy and Wyatt in Monte Carlo the first time around and it hasn't aged very well since.

I'll make an exception for the Portifino wedding next week, since I was deployed when that went down and full wedding clips for either Lope or Steam are surprisingly hard to come by.

I couldn't stop laughing. To Stephanie being so ticked off that the wedding took place and not being able to stop it and having to be a part of it. Worth it.

At the time, I was thrilled for Brooke and Ridge to finally get married not knowing how this was probably the high point of their entire relationship.

It was so nice to get some Old School B&B. I had a time of it, trying to remember some of the characters -original Storm had dark hair!- but overall it was nice to see a wedding that looked like a wedding complete with guests, not in a living room but on the beach complete with Bridge riding into the sunset on horses. Taylor looking fine as hell, Prince Omar looking fine as hell, Stephanie not having any of this ish, and man oh man, Bridget and Rick both at the wedding of their mother to their brother (although at the time they thought Bridget was Ridge's).

Kelly and Ronn were just gorgeous.

And wooden or not, I would take his Ridge all day, any day, over TK. He actually looked like he was truly in love with Brooke (or whoever he was involved with). But perhaps warmth is something that cannot be taught.

And HT was simply stunning. It's such a shame she messed with her face. 

And yup, Omar could get it.

In retrospect, it really was. I came in at the turn of the century and I thought after RJ was born and they got married shortly after that they would have a happily ever after. B&B was never my soap aside for a few months when Bill and Katie first started (was curious about seeing them as a couple) but I peaced out around the time the Steffy stuff started.

But I'm nostalgic for when soaps had writing and money (and mid-90s was no comparison to the mid 80s) so I tuned in today. It was beautiful but I also shocked that it took Ridge and Brooke seven years to get to the alter.  If DOOL takes longer than seven weeks to get a couple married these days, I'm impressed by their restraint*.

*Don't worry, they're headed for a divorce seven days later usually.

Yup, this is why I skipped today.

I just don't get why they thought this was a cool thing for this couple to do for their 3rd? 4th? wedding? And she's doing stupid attention seeking crap that Liam for some reason finds so awesome and exciting when really it just doesn't fit. 

And really when your previous wedding to Liam had you rolling up on a motorcycle dressed all in black -which was actually not a bad look for Steffy - how you gonna come swinging in wearing white? ::shakes head::

The Sally/Clark wedding or Sally/Massimo wedding would've been better!

Tomorrow we get Batie at least. The first wedding was pretty good.

Just caught yesterday's episode.

Wow, a wedding that wasn't in Eric or Brooke's living room, and was conducted by an actual minister versus the resident toady. Subtracting points though for the location. A beachfront wedding in CA seems cliche to me.

Who was that woman sitting with Eric? Looked like the infamous Sheila.

Loved Brooke's wedding gown, especially those unusual sleeves. I don't think I've ever seen sleeves fashioned like that before. I guess either Eric or Ridge designed it?

Okay, the musicians up on the cliff playing the wedding march was a nice touch. I was wondering if a boom box had been hidden under one of the chairs or something.

Oh, so Ridge was unknowingly committing bigamy. That gorgeous dress went to waste. 🙄

Well to Bridget her mommy and daddy were getting married so it was all good for her until 1996 when she was told, yeah, your dad is actually Eric, LOL.

Massimo showed up in 2001 which is when Ridge's shocking paternity was revealed.  Ridge/Bridget shenanigans were in 2003. 

So father/daughter for 6 years (1990-1996), brother/sister for 5 years (1996-2001 + add in SOARSing), 3 years where they're not blood related (2001-2003), and then BOOM! shenanigans. 

Bridget should be a LOT more messed up than she is. She should've been Aly levels of tragically demented and Brooke should be her nemesis/rival and Bridget and Hope should have a very complicated relationship. But the Logan women are LoganStrong so we get no good stories of how Brooke is a very flawed, complicated, sympathetic matriarch.

If there was one thing I felt ATWT got mostly right in it's last few seasons, it was showing how messed up the parents' bullshit made the kids once they became teens. Parker dragged Carly and Jack's hypocrisy, Casey was a spoiled brat who hid behind his parents' reputation to avoid responsibility for getting a girl pregnant; and on the more tragic end, you had Will Munson dealing with the poisoning of his brother's fiancee because he just wanted to make his mother happy. All their parents had their shit thrown back at them. For that matter, so did soap royalty Luke and Laura once their oldest son found out about their origin story.

In general, this show's legacy children are absolutely boring in comparison. I fully expect Douglas to handwaved everything Thomas has put him through once he becomes a teenager, the same as when Hope instantly accepted Deacon and blitzed through grappling with her conception with zero discussion with Bridget.

I have a funny story, that I couldn't wait to tell my friends, here on this board. Last night, Hubs went through a little catch-all basket we have. He started waving a dollar in my face, & I made a joke about the quarantine taking away any desire I had, to ever strip, if I'd ever had any, & left 20 extra pounds in its' place. Hubs said "isn't that your favorite?" I said "$1? Add a few zeroes behind it, then, yes." Hubs, "No, your favorite actor?" Me, "George Washington?" Hubs," NO, DOLLAR BILL!" OMG, Hubs isn't overly-clever (still perfect), but it was hysterical. But, yes, Dollar Bill is my favorite actor to enjoy lunch with. Yum!

The was the best part of the wedding along with the "flashbacks" of young Katie but really Victoria Newman on Y&R. I guess they couldn't pay the fee again for use of the song. I will have to scour YouTube to watch & hear it again.

I do remember the show making mention that Brooke and Storm graduated from Van Nuys High School. I've driven out that way for a house party once and....maybe it was some Podunk backwater city in 1987, but it wasn't at like that when I visited out there in 2017 (in fact, the house I went to was owned by Dan Lauria from The Wonder Years and a number of other actors live in the area as well)

Oh, I really liked Katie's tea length dress. Simple elegance.

Katie and Bill getting married within eyeshot of her childhood home was similar to Y&R's Victoria and Billy getting married outside of the Father Knows Best house. (The ceremony where Victor had Victoria arrested mid-ceremony to keep her from marrying Billy.) Victoria also wore a tea length.

If you don't like the brie, concentrate on the caviar. That's what I always say. 🙄 Eric was acting  like a big ol' snob. Was that Stephanie's influence because he doesn't seem to be that way now. Maybe he's learned to be less obvious about it. 😑

Heather Tom was so beautiful. (Not that I think she's ugly now but in this episode she was practically luminescent.)

For me, it was worth watching for DD and PD. I ff'd through the cheesy vows. Why was Stephanie at Eric & Donna's house? I forgot. At first, when I saw everybody, including Thorne, dressed in black, I thought it was a memorial service and I was frantically trying to remember who died around the same time as the first Batie wedding.

TBH ... I would have happily watched the reception instead of that lame wedding. Did we ever see that?

It's worth pointing out that his emotional affair with Steffy started about two or three months after this wedding. Bill's always been a shit husband to Katie, even when her character was less of a pill than she is these days.

I think that's a huge reason why all the ugly duckling thing Katie put upon herself just didn't stick the landing: she's played by Heather fricken Tom, who back then was still more well known as Victoria Newman, heiress and corporate mogul. I mean, one of her very first stories on B&B involved her banging her niece's husband for cryin' out loud!

Taylor still looking fine and sporting Ah-mazing hair and engaged to Storm Logan who wasn't having any of DrunkRidge's crap.  Yeah, I can see Storm capping Stephanie if pushed to it.

I will say Brooke looked pretty and plump. I think KKL had just given birth to her son (who we saw in the Brooke/Ridge wedding episode playing lil'Rick earlier this week).

Lake Como but I don’t think Sally & Lauren were really there. If so, the fashion show part was done in the studio in Los Angeles. 
 

The gray wedding/bridesmaids dress in the finale was beautiful. It obviously could be worn today which isn’t bad for a dress that was from 1997.

I loved that showstopper dress and that model, wow! I loved her haircut.  I guess it's kind of like today's stacked bob, but looked so much more elegant and sophisticated. 

Lauren always seemed like the perfect wife for Eric. (I don't watch Y&R, so I don't know a whole lot about her). I wonder why he never fell for her? As time passed, she became so thirsty and desperate for him, that I can see why that would have been a turn-off, but still???

Lauren was Steffy on steroids on her heyday. She had a whole line of men and definitely didn't flinch to step on a few toes to get whatever her priviledged heiress ass wanted. I get the sense that Sheila Carter was brought in as a way to  bring some much needed karmic payback for all the people she fucked over during the 80s, most notably Tracy Abbott and the husband she cheated on to get with Scott.

He really was. I remember him being popular at the time, but after the Brooke boink and once Liam came into the picture (you know, before he became....well, Liam) I was all too happy to see him fade into the background.

I assume a lot of it is money but it's been ages since the show's had a decent budget to do a really good showing. 2019 is the first season in which B&B didn't have any kind of show at all.

It was before although I dare say we saw the first sparks of Quidge as they held hands on the runway. 

Even if Ridge told her he hated her. 

Because we all know the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. And Ridge was clearly anything but indifferent to his stepmonster.
