Skyfall November 12, 2015 Share November 12, 2015 Your thread to discuss the actors in other roles. I recently finally caught an episode of the animated Guardans show and it's hard not to hear Eric/Will in the role but I think it helps me enjoy the show more haha. Link to comment
ladyrott November 12, 2015 Share November 12, 2015 I really enjoyed Rowan in "Invisible Sister". It was a change from her Riley Matthews role and I thought she did a great job. These Disney kids are often typecast in Disney movies. Invisible Sister gave Rowan a chance to show she could handle something besides Riley Matthews, oversized 5 year old. Link to comment
Kromm December 7, 2015 Share December 7, 2015 (edited) Anyone see Sabrina, as herself, in that Radio Disney Christmas Special? I couldn't stomach most of it, but did a lot of fast forwarding and got through it in pieces. To their credit, they made the good decision to ditch any kind of host monologue, or even talking directly to the camera/audience (until the very end when she said goodbye to the audience). It actually was a good writing/directing decision in that it made the whole thing flow and took down the artifice ANY of these specials usually have. But then they went and ruined it by technologically "sweetening" the music SO clearly and obviously that IMO anyone could spot it. Nobody lip synched, but you could hear they isolated the audio then sweetened it then added it back. Because even though the filters have gotten better and nobody sounds outright robotic anymore with the resources of Disney music engineers behind them, you can hear the ends, the highs and lows, cut off in the music and everything "flattened" to erase pitch problems. But you can erase pitch issues without also flattening the rest, and to me I doubt the technology could improve enough that I'll never NOT notice it. Other lows: --they managed to bag Charlie Puth for the special, but then couldn't get him in the same location. So they phonied up a "video phone" call between our cast and Charlie which again, even with good editing, you could tell was faked. --selfie-sticks. Nuff said. --Lots of people who I had no idea who they are. Now I realize the Disney Channel/Radio universe is kind of an alternate universe where these may be the biggest stars in the universe to a 12 year old, but when Sabrina and Puth are the ONLY mainstream accessible stars? They needed at least one big name. --Sabrina is an extremely beautiful girl. You have to work hard at it to make her look bad. But the wardrobe person clearly had it out for her (and the director didn't help either). Knowing she's super-short, the director continuously put her in standing-up two or three shots with two other actresses who were about 9-10 inches taller than her. And the wardrobe department put her in these hip-hugging jeans that emphasized her hips (making her look both hippy AND shorter both). As I said I forwarded a lot so I might have missed some other annoying stuff. Edited December 7, 2015 by Kromm Link to comment
Kromm October 17, 2016 Share October 17, 2016 (edited) Was surprised to see Sabrina as a guest judge on Project Runway this week. Here she is sitting next to Mean Judge Nina Garcia. Not sure I like her outfit. Here's a selfie from her showing the whole look. The top doesn't look that bad, but the combo of the top and bottom makes her look like a big banana. Nina should have said something to her! Edited October 17, 2016 by Kromm Link to comment

Cowgirl March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 Rowan was on last night's episode of the Goldbergs. She plays an older love interest for Adam. Her character was a bit of a nerd. It was lovely to see her playing a role where she didn't come off as practically special needs. 3 Link to comment
Mabinogia March 30, 2017 Share March 30, 2017 I didn't know she was going to be on it and when she showed up I was so happy to see her as someone other than Riley. She's a good actress. I hope her characters sticks around. PS: Her character and Adam had more chemistry than Riley and Lucas every did. lol 3 Link to comment

TDT April 4, 2017 Share April 4, 2017 (edited) Supposedly that will be a recurring role.. Wonder whats going to happen to the other GMW castmembers..its been said that Ben and Danielle have landed directing gigs for other Disney shows and/or movies.. Sabrina can be heard singing the theme song for that new Disney series Andi Mack, which debuts this Friday..saw the pilot episode of it on Youtube, and seeing that the big plot twist was given away like 40 or so minutes in Spoiler ..that Andi's long lost older sister is actually in fact her birth mother i dunno..kind of looks like Gilmore Girls all over again(with more of a focus on the daughter) Edited April 4, 2017 by TDT Link to comment

Voice acting takes a lot less time though since you don't having to worry about blocking or different takes to get different lighting, actions, etc. Link to comment
DucksFlyTogether April 18, 2017 Share April 18, 2017 Voice acting is ideal. It keeps her foot in the Disney door while probably being much easier on her school work and singing schedules. Link to comment
