Hi everyone. I'm another mod and I'm obsessed with this show and of course 19 kids. I thought I'd move all of the intro and general posts into this thread in keeping with Rhondinella's post guidelines in the general discussion thread.

I made it!

here from TWOP.  I was Cheesecake4me but my youngest child has life threatening dairy allergies so I really don't want a name with cheese in it!

I was marigoldmama on the Big Love boards.

Big Love is now free on Amazon Prime so I have just watched nearly through the series. It makes me feel different about the Brown family, sadder really. I hadn't given much thought to the religious beliefs that brings women to polygamy. Any other thoughts on what we've seen in Big Love that relates to the Browns?

That damn wet bar is how I ended up watching this show in the first place. I came in on the season they were building all the houses in Vegas and have been watching it ever since. I came for the house porn and got dragged into watching the plyg drama.

Janelle is my favorite, with Christine following her. Robin is a distant third, and I totally can't stand Meri. Kody is a doofus. From what I've seen so far, I think their teenage kids seem surprisingly normal and like pretty decent kids.

Just over from TWoP and feeling comfortable enough to post- lurked for a long time at TWoP, wanting to jump in here.  Great seeing the Sister Wives Love here. I love this show- I love the older kids- Aspyen, Logan, Hunter and Mykelti are super, not a huge Meriah fan, but I think it's more that I dislike her mom so much. The Browns are doing something right to raise good kids.

Just joined here, thanks to input from another former TWoPper.

I never miss an episode of Sister Wives, as it helps my exercise program to spend an hour every weekend just shaking my head in disbelief!

Hi guys! New on here too, and I must admit the post here are very entertaining and most importantly all opinions so respected. A breath of fresh air. I am addicted to this show! Honestly? Because I am waiting for the blowup. I can feel the rumble like a volcano threatening to erupt and don't want to miss that moment. Recently watched the episode of Mariah sitting in the car staring at the house...psychotic behavior!! She has a nasty streak that one!! Anyway I am working my way through each forum and love all the comments.

I'm sure Christine will express utter horror and claim that she is just SO upset about this type of thing because she NEVER imagined such evil exists.

I was horrified when I read this!! WTH!!! Not doing their cause any good whatsoever.

I don't think any of them actually have a cause. It's all loosely explained as "religious" but I think that's just a load of crap so that they can claim freedom of religion as their excuse for one guy banging as many women as possible and women with low-to-no self esteem putting up with popping out as many welfare-hogging kids as possible. It's a religion that lives entirely in the male pants.

If even one of them exhibited one single example of doing good works (as in the "do unto others" tenet of so many religions) I might cut them some slack. But their "religion" is all entirely the Church of What's In It for Me.

Did you see this part?

Man living in the house managed to restrain pair with a samurai sword.

Cracked me up, I guess every household should have one for emergencies!

I've thought of getting one myself.  Not for defense against female ninjas, but zombies, yeah.

I wanted to laugh at the Brown clan a little bit this morning, went to Netflix, not finding the show on there anymore?  I know it used to be there.  Can somebody else check?

Or maybe the Netflix gods decided that the world has had enough.

Maybe the Browns wanted it off so that they could make more money from combining the dramatic pieces into a full length feature movie.  I'm sure they think we'd all pay to see them on the big screen.  They are so utterly fascinating.

Do you know why they are in Hawaii @jellybeans? You are right, the other wives must be furious!

@auntl No I do not know why. I only know what I posted. Maybe all the wives are happy! Somehow I doubt it.... last season was one big yawnfest. I also heard Meri went to Disneyland (the happiest place on earth!) and then went on a cruise. So.... I think Christine and Janelle are probably the angriest.

I hope it opens with a "We're all leaving" Season Premiere but I doubt it.

She never knew men could be such bastards. <over dramatic voice>

Why would that be so wrong?

Because the whole celestial planet malarkey is King Male using women to populate the orb.  It's a male dominated idea meant to give males free license to nail as many women as possible and call it a "religious tenet" instead of a bunch of lecherous men forcing women into sexual slavery.  If women could have more than one man, they'd have to use a space shuttle to run between planets.

My sister just began watching Sister Wives.  I cannot explain the 'ownership' of the cul de sac homes to her.  The Browns don't actually own the homes yet, do they?  They are living there for 3 years, but the builder actually owns them?  Could someone please clarify for me?  Thanks!
