Six Degrees of The West Wing

Recommended Posts

I saw this idea being bandied about. And with the passing of Fred Dalton Thompson I felt motivated to fashion a Six Degrees link to our show.

Fred Thompson was in The Hunt For Red October with

Richard Jordan who was in Gettysburg with

Martin Sheen

Well played! Now should you post the next "candidate" to be "degreed"? (Yup, communications major right here....) Or are we supposed to come up with our own?

ETA: A review of IMDB tells me the Senator was in The Line of Fire (Clint) with Gary Cole, who was the VP on The West Wing.

Thanks!  I will probably use this thread as an odd "In Memoriam" whenever someone notable passes away.

But I suppose I should also suggest the next connection.  Back in the day we often had a theme for our suggestions.

Keith was in Damages with Glenn Close

who was in The West Wing  with Martin Sheen (Is that cheating - since she was only in one ep??)

Keith is in Madam Secretary  with Zeljko Ivanek

who was in the The West Wing with Martin Sheen (again - he was only in 2-3 eps - right? Worked for John Goodman? Am I remembering correctly?)

Keith was in Fargo with Oliver Platt

who was in the west wing with Martin Sheen.

While that is one of my top 5 fave shows of all time, I actually preferred her on Sisters. I know!

Ok, so not the direction I was going, but awesome ... THE GRIFTERS ... I only know this movie because I am a huge John Cusak fan ... this was a very little known film, and one I am going to have to find and watch again.

So this thread, even though it's a game, is bringing up some awesome stuff to watch.  WOO HOO!!!

Ok, so it's the little things that mean the most to me.

Love The Grifters and it holds up very well so enjoy the re-watch. Cusak and Huston are great, but Benning is fantastic, not to mention sexy as all get out. By the way, only using movies I have seen so far.

What direction should I try

Stockard was in Grease with

Travolta who was in Primary Colors with

Emma Thompson who was in Remains of the Day with

Anthony Hopkins who was in Hannibal with

Jullianne Moore

I am sure there is a shorter way, likely involving John Goodman from The Big Lebowski, but I don't connect with TWW characters.

Stockard to Travolta (Grease)

Travolta to Nicholas Cage (Face Off)

Cage to Julienne Moore (Next)

Whenever a manager a work is acting like an ass and being unreasonable I will say, "this isn't Spain you know...." and no one EVER gets it.  I sleep better at night knowing Kevin Smith would:-)  Now you might as well.

Annabeth Gish to Vincent D'Onofrio (Mystic Pizza) to Tommy Lee Jones (Men in Black) to Elisabeth Moss (The Missing ... a little known film with big names ... watched because Val Kilmer was a secret crush)

I'm showing my lack of a recent re-watch, but I always thought that should be the last thing Jed said on the plane and was very disappointed that it wasn't.

Then I decided I was ok with it, because he didn't *have* to ask what was next.

But now I've forgotten what he actually said. <when all 10 of you respond immediately, shaming me, pls spoiler tag for Deaja>   :-))

Tomorrow

You are right and I am wrong.....not something I say easily-I changed my post and Betsyboo, you should too....altho I am still having trouble with spoiler tags for a series that has (sadly) been off the air this long.

Funny to realize that Santos would already be out of office and Sam, after serving 2 terms in the House, would likely be VP or something like that. Josh and Donna's kid would be 4 or 5 by now, altho Zoe and Charlie's would just be a new born. What have I started.
