Slothlovechunk, glad to read you received help and are very happy in life. If I may ask, how was it you overcame all of those issues? What tools were you given and what did you have to do in order to move past these behaviors? I hope I asked that correctly.

It definitely wasn't an overnight transformation with me.  I did weekly Dialectical Behavior Therapy for about 2 years.  I saw a psychiatrist monthly since age 19.  I'm 33 now.  I still see him when I feel myself getting out of control, but those visits are now once every 8-24 months.  Basically, I learned techniques to recognize when my reactions to things were inappropriate, and also learned techniques to manage my emotions. I also had to WANT to change.  I still struggle with getting irrationally angry over stupid stuff, or being doubtful when my response to something should be completely valid.  But otherwise I am a normal functioning adult with a few close friends, a stable job, and loving husband, and an awesome daughter.  I think of myself as a BPD "survivor" and I'd say it interferes with my life about 5% of the time now, as opposed to 90% of the time when I was at my worst.  My friends and family say I'm a completely different person than I was 10 years ago.

Sorry if this is personal you don't have to answer. But did you take any meds in addition to therapy? How did you recognize you had a problem? How's your relationship with your 2 yo and spouse?

No problem with answering.  I used to be very ashamed of my diagnosis, but not anymore.  I was always a SUPER emotional child, and any perceived unfairness would cause a complete meltdown for hours (like crying for hours on end until I passed out with a migraine).  My parents sucked at addressing it and it wasn't until I got to college and my friend noticed I was cutting that she dragged me to the campus health center.  I was actually diagnosed as Bipolar by the first psychiatrist I visited (similar to Jenelle).  But it really didn't sit right with me.  Switched psychiatrists a few times in a halfhearted attempt at looking like I cared about myself until one mentioned BPD.  I looked up the symptoms and whoa....it was me to a "T".  I tried lots of medications over the years and the one that helped the most was ironically plain old Prozac.  Took it for about 5 years.  However, I haven't needed meds in over 6 years.

My relationship with my two year old and spouse is good.  I'm not the best mother in the world (who is?), but I'm engaged and affectionate, and don't think I react any more harshly than a normal person when she pushes my buttons.  I find myself pushing my spouse away at times or getting irrationally angry at him over little things, but I almost always use my techniques and get back on track.  It's helpful that he's understanding and knows my issues.  I'd say we have a healthy marriage overall.

Sorry to deviate so much from the topic.  I'll shut up about myself now so we can snark on the ridiculousness that is Jenelle and Leah.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is discovered that Nathan is a serial killer.  Not even a little.

Late at night, as he lies awake staring at the ceiling, his nipples speak to him. Hear the voices. They tell him of the ones, the ones who must die.

Lmao!!! I hear he works with Leah's Espurr. The Espurr predicts who will be easiest to kill so as not to give away his identity.

I agree with this but I don't think it's going to happen. I wish MTV would spring for a real psychologist on staff who could counsel some of these participants.

I wish that would happen only because a real professional psychologist (not like Dr. Drew) would tell MTV to put an end to this show as it is not a healthy environment for these children to be around. The only benefit to having MTV around is the fact the cameras capture what is going on in the lives of these children and it helps in instances of court matters. I would think a proper psychologist would tell MTV that the money the participants receive is actually a hindrance. It is a similar to welfare in that some of these girls are stuck in a cycle.

Jenelle really is emotionless.  We've never seen her truly happy about anything that I can recall.

I don't see her enjoying being intimate.  I don't even see her faking it, she's not human enough to know what an appropriate response is.  She must either just lie there, or mimic something she's seen in a pornographic movie.

I read this and thought I was on Farrah's board. I hadn't really thought about how similar the two of them are. Likey sharks, just cold and dead behind the eyes.

Did Javi really say he couldn't imagine waking up without Lincoln and Issac?

While a sweet sentiment, why exactly did he pick a career in the military?

Singing in my best Marcia Brady voice:

B-B-B-E-N-N-N-N-I-F-F-F-I-T-S

Benefits for Kail!

Jace worries me for numerous reasons. His behavioral issues along with wetting the bed are concerning. Add in having a teen "mother" like Jenelle. I would not be surprised to hear Jace getting arrested later on in life. I hope not as he seems like a sweet little boy, but his upbringing reminds me of Ted Bundy and Aileen Wuornos both of whom were born to teen moms and raised by dysfunctional grandparents.

Ted Bundy's relatives related stories about Ted exhibiting strange and crazy behavior as early as the age of three such as laying knives around his sleeping grandmother. There are more examples, but just wanted to point out that Ted was more than likely born to kill. Aileen Wournos was raped by her grandfather on numerous occasions and her brother also engaged her in sexual acts. Aileen's bio father was schizophrenic. Aileen began prostituting herself at a very young age. She became a teen mom herself and was forced to give up her child.  There are more factors that can likely explain why she ended up a serial killer, but just wanted to point out that what Aileen faced in life, is a far cry from what Jace is experiencing.  Jace, unlike Ted Bundy and Aileen Wournos, is not exhibiting questionable behavior nor has he. He has not been sexually assaulted or faced the kind of life that Aileen did. Hopefully, Jace has never been harmed that way.

Jace is now exhibiting behavior that screams he is dealing with the stresses in his life, mainly what he is going through when he is around Jenelle. We can pinpoint what is affecting Jace.

Hee hee!

And I can TOTALLY see Nipples doing full Juggalo face paint a la Leah's Espurr when going on his killing sprees. So scary!

Maybe that's what he's always doing in the bathroom.

This is the promo about Jace's behaviour after being with his mother.

So Jigglypuff "doesn't know anyone but Jenelle and Nipples."

The effects of spending the early years of one's life around just those two will be incredibly damaging to him. I assume Jenelle and Nips have no close friends or family (except for Nips' mom) that are a part of this child's life. He only sees his brother Jace once in a blue moon. Until he starts preschool, his entire world and what he knows will be those two cold, screaming, dysfunctional, mentally ill people. The poor kid hardly has a chance to come out unscathed.

Perfecting his craft no doubt. But if he wants to save money on makeup, I hear Leah's got a boatload of Mary Kay.

Watching that clip again just infuriates me. Notice the womb says she 'caught' Jace calling Barb mom twice when she was showing Barb around. That tells me that Jace has hell to pay every time he refers to Barb as mom when he's at their house. Bitch probably punishes him.

I thought the same thing. Did you notice how Jace would quickly correct himself and say, "Meme". It was like he was scared to get "caught".

Can you imagine the bullshit Kaiser roll will have to go through when Jenelle and Nips eventually split for good?

For some bizarre reason, this made me picture the classic shot of the face-painted Martin Sheen's head coming out of the water at the end of Apocalypse Now.

That and Christian minister porn-watching "Nathan's Mom... Probably".

I had watched the episode and then after reading all of your comments, I re-watched. Man, I am hopelessly naive because I missed Leah's late night antics possibly being because of a drug deal. Of course, I couldn't fathom why she would wake her kids up when they were out like that, nor could I understand why such a late night handoff of the kids. All I kept thinking (the first time watching) that given how concerned Corey seems about the girls, I'm sure if the drop off was late for some reason, he'd have bathed and fed them! Thank you all for filling in the gap!

I've also appreciated the many insights about Kail - the drive time where Javi or she goes to pick up Isaac from Jo's gives her free time, or being jealous of her children having fathers - all things I hadn't thought of. I do get the strong sense that she is so easy to call it quits with Javi because there is someone waiting in the wings. While I agree that you can't stay in a bad situation just for the sake of the children, she doesn't seem interested or willing to try. Her mind is made up. It comes off as very cavalier and if she maintains that attitude, Isaac and Lincoln (and any subsequent babies) seem destined for a life of unstable homes.

Jenelle. Nathan. They are both baseline very troubled individuals who bring out the absolute worst in eachother. But they are both immature and deluded enough to think these awful, over the top, screaming fights means they are so in love. The words "no one understands us and our love" must be emblazoned on their family crest.

Chelsea continues to amaze me by being the person I hate the least and root for the most. The baby talk still bugs, but she is a good mom. I thought the scene where Aubree came out and asked for water and Chelsea had already done it and said something like "I got you covered, girl" was very cute. Chelsea just seems very attuned to her child, which is part of what made that last scene so heartbreaking. I wanted to reach through the screen and choke Adam when he was questioning Aubree/making promises. When the visit to his house can't happen, he will break out that "go ask your mother about that" line again to poor Aubree and put that kid in the middle. He screwed up and he needs to own the fact that he put himself in a situation where supervised visits are needed. He thinks he's punishing Chelsea when he talks like that, but it's Aubree that he is hurting.

Just now watching this episode and I can't at Leah's ugly face yawning every 5 seconds the next morning after ravioli night. Someone get a screenshot of that. Poor baby had to wake up at 7!

STFU Adam, stop drilling Aubree with so many questions! That's probably the most he's ever talked to her though.

Jenelle was almost to the lawyer's office and drove all the way back to see Nathan as soon as she heard his voicemail and his half assed apology. She can't be without him for an hour. Reminds me of how I was with my ex boyfriend except the difference is I was in high school and didn't have a kid I had no custody over. And then Nathan tells her he would've knocked her out if she wasn't a female to which Jenelle didn't even react. I'm sure he's said/did even worse things.

I saw someone here misspell Kail as Karl and I couldn't stop laughing. Karl took 10 minutes to find one thing she likes about Javi and when she finally said it, was so insincere about it. Javi should've been the one to say that HER compliment was bullshit.

I felt bad for her as well. Leah and Jeremy are so into themselves and their drama it didn't occur to them that there was a child in the backseat who was excited about her cheer competition only to have it ruined by these two idiots screaming and cussing. It probably put a damper on Gracie's whole day and it's not like she has a lot to look forward to in the first place.

You know, this makes me re-think Gracie's brattiness.  As a kid of parents (now divorced) who argued A LOT, looking back I was a very insecure nail biter.  I never knew what home life was going to bring me.  Was it going to nice and quiet, or yelling and screaming? Mind you, my parents yelled behind closed doors.  I can only imagine how scared Gracie and Ali feel witnessing it up close.  Gracie's got a lot of anger, and she doesn't know how to vent properly yet.  Leah and Corey better get that checked quick before she grows into teenhood and learns to self-sooth with drugs, alcohol, sex, food, shopping, or all 5.  Poor kid.  I'm starting to see that she's sensitive to the chaos that is her life with Leah.

To me, Aubrey looked tired.  It could be why she threw the fit at the school.  Kids get cranky when they are tired, and perhaps Aubree just had a long day or a bad nap.  I think, or at least I hope, that Chelsea is more strict with Aubree--and less of a friend, when cameras aren't around.

I felt sorry for Gracie/Aleeah too.  The day of her cheer competition should have been so much fun for her and it was ruined by all the fighting in her mom's tenement on wheels.  How was she supposed to have fun and do her best after all that stress and yelling? Watching her baby sister getting squashed had to be upsetting too.

It bothers me that sometimes she's called Gracie and other times she's called Aleeah.  I know a lot of people go by nicknames or middle names and go back and forth between them and their proper name, but that child has so much chaos in her life that I think  any consistency would be good for her.  It's not like there is in connection between the names, for example calling someone named Pamela Pam for short, and it probably confuses some of the people around them.
