Meghan King Edmonds: Third Wife's a Charm

The one career I would advise the Edmonds to keep Haley out of is reality TV star.  Get her butt in some kind of post-secondary education.  I know she needs time to process and grieve but even a part time schedule would be an improvement from hanging out collecting an allowance.

Your post reminded me of Hannah.   Dorinda is still letting her grieve the loss of her step-father five years after his death.  For Hannah's sake, I hope Dorinda makes her #backthatshitup.   LOL

And yeah, I'm going to stop the body talk because I don't want to seem like I'm picking on her. I just have a lot of friends who exhibited the same behaviors (weight loss, "I eat so much!" Pics on social media and then using compensatory behaviors afterwards...) as Meghan who later ended up hospitalized in residential and inpatient facilities. I think she's playing games with her life and it's kind of upsetting to me because I've seen what can happen.

Oh, I hope you don't think I was implying you're too hard on Meghan.  She's fair game, and she brings this crap on herself.  She didn't have to address her "haters" at all, but to taunt them with - I eat thousands of calories, and still look like this!  Not smart when "this" looks like a praying mantis with bulging biceps.  I really despise when criticism is assumed to be motivated by jealousy.  Not jealous Meghan - except of your probably free Cardinals tickets.

Yes, but her awful personality provides more than enough fodder, lol

Hayley & high school ~ when Meghead was doing Hayley's homework on her bed, she did a talking had that all Hayley has to do is go to school one day a week and do her homework.  Sounded like home school - off site - to me.

"Jim, don't you love my pink hair?  No?  Well, it will grow out by the next time we see each other - like October.  Didn't you see me on WWHL?  No?  Haley's mom has cancer. #(gang sign) terminal.  #coolstepmom #mystoryline"  "Meghan, i was banging the bat girl and watching highlights.  I can do two things at a time."

Next time one these gals have aa party, I'm going to tweet "I will be happy to take the untouched food home - which means all it."  #helpmeImpoor.

There might be the occasional infected nose coming VERY close to some of that food you want to take home.

Why is Jimmy so grumpy? This may be why:  http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2015/07/jim-edmonds-meghan-edmonds-husband-slammed-with-lawsuit/ Jimmy is a copy cat.

This seems like a rant to me:  http://www.realitytea.com/2015/07/29/meghan-king-edmonds-hits-back-haters-saying-shes-thin/

I say that because in the days of Brandi claiming she and LeAnn were at war I didn't see it.  This is more like a solo rant Brandi style.

Meghan just can't help herself. She goes on a rant to her haters then she adds this gem at the end that backs up any theory she may have an eating disorder:

Meghan continues, “I was born with skinny genes like my siblings @caitking7 @julie_king8 @rjking3 (do recon) and they eat like me (but I have to watch it more since my metabolism has slowed a bit).”

So she does gorge and not gain weight OR now she says she has to watch it, huh.

The other ladies aren't jealous, they simply think Meghan's fake and full of her self congratulatory self. I agreed with the comment comparing Meghan's need for Botox to someone skinny saying they are fat. It seems ridiculous for a 30 year old with a thin, taut forehead to say she needs Botox. Meghan thinks her family is the center of the universe and she acts like a clueless, mean spirited, narcissist wh thinks everyone's jealous of her. That's why many people don't like her...another words, it's not them it's just her!

Speculation...I do wonder if she has a reproductive issue and that's why Jim having a Vasectomy was not a game changer for someone her age...maybe she found this out in marriage #1 that she couldn't have kids? I'm only saying this because we see her get upset about not having biological children.

Yes, Zoeysmom, that was the article, thank you.

Regarding Meghan, she just strikes me as one of those folks who desperately want to be famous (need attention? low self-esteem? empty life? lack of other inner resources? whatever) and seems to believe that she's found her personal path to happiness with a well known, wealthy husband (though I had no idea who Jim is/was, but then I'm not a big baseball fan), exposure on a national, albeit cable, TV show and the attendant various magazine and blog articles.

What I suspect she doesn't get is that this is, at best, superficial notoriety. It's not like she's making important medical breakthroughs or producing great art or anything. Unlike Paris Hilton (I can't believe I'm actually writing this sentence...) I don't think Meghan has the street smarts to grow her toe in the door into an actual quasi career of products, speaking engagements, club openings and that kind of thing.  I also suspect that she thinks that she'll be able to wrangle this into long lasting exposure and fame and money. As the old saying goes, the egg timer is ticking. My belief is that these HW shows are coming to the end of their lifespan within a couple of years, to be replaced with whatever comes next. Meghan is, at best, a small flash in the pan.

Yeah, Meghan could totally be Quinned. Lizzie is now a "friend of" and she seemed to fit in with the group better than Mghan does. I think being peripheral character on these shows is ideal, actually. Get to go on trips, usually not pulled into fights, and get to avoid the scrutiny that comes along with being a main castmember.

Still curious about what Danielle's deal was, even though now her situation seems like ancient history.

Plus I think Meghan annoyed Andy.

Agree.  She annoyed me too!  That pink hair (not to mention the twitter photos of her getting her hair pinked), her frozen-stiff way of speaking to the camera, her fakeness... she has no warmth or charm.  She's just an immature, messed up a-hole.... in her own words, she's classy as f*ck.  I can't stand her, but I have to say I'm dying to see how karma plays out for her.

Hate to say it, but judging from her twitter feed, Meghan's posts following Leeann's passing seem more celebratory than anything... you have to scroll down a bit to see her posts from July 27-30 and so on.  A lot of big smiles for the camera with different celebrities and family members.  I think it's horrible, creepy, awful.  I feel so sorry for Jim's daughters, for the strange mixed messages Meghan sends about sacrificing for them, being sad for Leeann, when really it seems that quite tragically, Leeann and her daughters have been little more than another storyline in the reality show of Meghan's famewhoring life.

Love the Bridesmaids reference!

I'm only saying this because we see her get upset about not having biological children.

Going only from memory, she briefly discussed the possibility of in vitro with Heather, before Heather derailed the conversation.  Meghan cited Jim's vasectomy as the problem, but I guess she could have been deflecting.

Plus I think Meghan annoyed Andy.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that there were two clips posted on Bravo.  One referred to Meghan as "spoiled" and the other as "entitled".  It made me realize that Andy is loyal to no one.  He coaxed Carole onto the NY franchise, then kind of threw her to the wolves.  And I bet he played up his devotion to the Cardinals, in order to get Meghan and Jim to sign on.  I'm not sure why anyone trusts him at this point.  Andy only looks out for Andy.

Well, that's one way to look at it. But one could just as easily explain that Meghan, like a lot of us, simply grieves quite differently than is customarily expected (like Scott Peterson after his wife disappeared; whoops bad example). I'm sure she was so shaken by Leeann's iminent and actual passing (as expected as it was) that she just went a little bit nutso, dyed her hair pink, laughed it up with Andy and company on WWHL, and scarfed down a lot of greasy cheeseburgers to show all her haters than she too can chew food voraciously. Yeah, a bit crazy perhaps. But I'm sure she'll soon snap out of this grief-induced fugue state and return to being the energetic, hardworking, self-confident, and very devoted housewife who just happens to pick fights with older RHOC castmates and for some odd reason comes across on camera as this anthropomorphic fusion of an elf princess and a praying mantis with a giraffe-like neck who is totally self-absorbed with herself and without empathy for others and obviously a bit sociopathic but still doing her best to act warm and charming with real human emotions and body movements but failing miserably at the attempt. Give her a frickin' break, I say.

I have a viceral reaction to this woman and I think it's because my perception is that there are victims of her behavior. Parents typically use very much forethought  before saying anything that could emotionally affect their children. Meghan doesn't even seem to  hear herself in her clearly well rehearsed 'talking head' segments and either doesn't know or doesn't care about what the subtext of her words suggest. Now, after Leann's passing her pat answer in interviews for how they are dealing is "everyone grieves in their own way, we are celebrating Leann's life and trying to move forward and think about the future. I dyed my hair pink because i can and life is short"  and blah blah blah. Everyone does grieve in their own way, that is true but SHE is using that truth as a trite explanation for the behavior we've seen this last week.  I see no indication of her caring then or now about this situation in any way but how she can gain attention from it in her ignorant, self congratulatory way. I usually find the Housewives cast harmless even if I don't quite relate to them but now I feel mad at Bravo and Andy for allowing her sick game playing words and actions to be aired. Whew, I said it.

The mention of Quinn makes me think of another Quinn and her shocking similarities to Mehgan.

I think being jealous of a biological bond is not in itself a horrible thing. It's more socially acceptable to discuss if it's a situation where a stepparent watches as a child is trying to please a bio-parent who neglects them, but normal in general. What bugs me is that the blood bond and shared past between Hayley and Leanne, at that point, was all Hayley was going to have left of her mother, and now it is all she has left. So, it's particularly crappy of Meghan to cry about how it affects Meghan on camera.

As for Jim's other kids...I feel like Meghan wants to seamlessly co-opt them just like she did Jim, Jim's money, and Jim's property. I think it's a sign of being a truly spoiled person that she's so frustrated she can't just get rid of the old moms.

In a weird way, I am kind of loving Meghan on the show. Has there been a housewife this utterly contemptible since Season 1 Camille? I like that she's not drunk or criminal or trashy - she's just seriously delusional. Watching her awkwardly clomp around her vacant Couples' Game Night party without a husband of her own by her side, so desperate to fit in, grasping to make her stepdaughter her storyline and her martyrdom, it's pretty rich comedy gold. I love that the women start calling her to task for her very strange ownership of Hayley next week. Meghan is equal parts hate-worthy, snark-worthy and strangely tragic. I feel like Tennessee Williams could have written a play about her.

THIS. We have all met a Meghan before, but usually we leave her behind in high school. Her going on the attack with Shannon was no accident. For her it was the challenge of taking down the new girl from the prior season. Love her or hate her, Shannon really made her mark in a short space of time....and it wasn't in the nasty bitchy way of a Brandi or Tamara.

Meghan does seem to carry the smugness of season one Camille, but Camille had the killer house porn and in my opinion a killer wardrobe, which at least made her scenes interesting. Plus Camille had some life experience. Meghan is a bitch, but she also seems like a teenager playing dress up. She just annoys the hell out of me.

"James!" she shouted, devastated but tearless, as he finally finished loading up the Ryder Rent a Truck with the last of his belongings and padlocked it shut.

"What the Hell d'you want, Meghan," he replied in an dull monotone, obviously impatient, unwilling to look back at her.

"Where shall I go?" she pleaded, desperately fingering the brittle strands of her still-pink hair. "You've either sold or locked me out of all the other houses."

He suddenly turned and faced her, anger flashing in his small dark eyes. "Should have thought of that before you posted that online video of you and Dave Beador making love in the giraffe exhibit at the Orange County Zoo."

She started to move in his direction, awkwardly, in strange pulsing jerks, like some 6'2" praying mantis forced to walk on stamped concrete for the first time.

"I was only trying to trying to shame his bitch of a wife," she sobbed, still tearless. "Besides, Andy told me to do it."

"Bullshit." he said. "You know how many business deals that stunt cost me?" He paused, still glaring. "You never think of anyone but yourself."

"But where shall I go, James?" she asked again, imploring.

"Why don't you call Shannon or Vicki and ask if they've got room for you?" he retorted, a hateful smirk on his otherwise rigid face.

"You know why," she sobbed. "They won't speak to me anymore. None of them will." she continued sobbing. "And Andy didn't renew me."

"I'm out of here," he finally said in disgust, climbing into the cab of the truck, starting the ignition, and furiously gunning the engine. "See you in the funny papers, kid," he called out, the tires squealing as he turned right at the end of the driveway and headed out of her life for good.

Okay, this Tennessee Williams quote reminds me of Tamra:

I don't want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic! I try to give that to people. I misrepresent things to them. I don't tell the truth, I tell what ought to be the truth. And it that's sinful, then let me be damned for it!”

This is Shannon:

“Physical beauty is passing - a transitory possession - but beauty of the mind, richness of the spirit, tenderness of the heart - I have all these things - aren't taken away but grow! Increase with the years!”

This is Vicki:

“Oh, you can't describe someone you're in love with!”

Heather:

“I can't stand a naked light bulb, any more than I can a rude remark or a vulgar action.”

I get what you're saying, but Meghan as the teenager playing dress up is exactly what I love about her. She is so stilted and awkward and tragic and strange. And while true that she does not have the house porn or the clothing of Camille, she has her strange, clumsy gait, and she also her bizarre way of speaking replete with over enunciated words and the sentence construction of someone who speaks English as a second language. I find her utterly bizarre. She definitely has a shot at being the OC's Porsha: dumped by Jimmy over hiatus and then back next season as a "liberated," renewed woman on the prowl!

So in the many tales from Meghan King Edmonds, I have become curious if she worked as a software representative prior to meeting Jim or during their courtship, just exactly when did she decided to pull the plug to devote to moving Jim around, a year before they married, six months, after they married just when did she become a non-working spouse?  My guess is when she signed the Bravo contract -probably the end of 2014.  I think she got short with Vicki because she doesn't want to admit being on a reality show is enough of a job for a third time wife.

I agree with 99% of you here re:Meghan. She is one vile woman!  I think Heather likes her because she goes after Shannon, but I don't see any of the other housewives becoming her new BFF. I was so confused by the "Social" episode last night where Meghan got at least 3 complementary tweets and the only negative one was from Tamra.  Yet, Shannon (My favorite) was getting more mean tweets.  It's pathetic how editing which tweets we see TV has become.  Why do they do that as if Meghan is a new fan favorite??? All it did was piss me off.

You mean you may be "intimidated" or not "in awe of her sacrifice" and don't worry about proving yourself to "classy as F___" Meghan? You know "Shannon brought this all on herself" after Meghan's inquisition but shocker, she doesn't like it when Vicki takes a turn at her?

On WWHL, we learn that super fan, St Louis Cardinals/Jimmy Edmonds asked me on a date, had no idea that K means a strike out in baseball. She's a fraud. I wonder if the plan is to use Meghan & Jimmy to move back to St Louis and spin off into Real Housewives of St Louis in a year or two...

I happened to be in St. Louis house/dog sitting for my parents when Andy was in town for his book tour. He did a Q&A session with the local NBC affiliate and was asked if he'd ever do a RH of St. Louis. Andy said, (I'm paraphrasing) no, never because I don't want to subject my hometown or it's residents to that.

I figured it was code for "my hometown is boring as hell and not fabulous enough for the franchise." Even If that's not what he meant, his answer was a vehement "no". There's so little to do and see in St. Louis so I don't blame him. Even if he seemingly adores St. Louis, he hasn't lived there for many, many years.

Or perhaps he's acknowledging that these shows portray the female participants in the worst possible light, and the producers basically force them to act like cat-fighting caricatures of their real selves in order to remain in front of the cameras.  So, he really does not want people thinking his hometown's residents are anything like the RH women and their hometowns.  Just my opinion, but I think Andy is one of the biggest misogynists in television today.

Maybe because the East and West coast narcissists are more readily consumed in a reality show by the average mid-west housewife. It's something that's bizarre and unique to behold. There's a quality about women like the 'Housewives' that can't be faked and that quality is wealthy pretentiousness. They live within a tiny microcosm of culture that most people don't get to experience firsthand. I compare them to the old side-show days of carnival when you could pay .50 cents to see a three legged woman, or a toad with the face of Abe Lincoln. It's on the same level as that, we just stare wide-eyed at something unusual and at times totally unbelievable. To the average viewer, the cities of New York, Los Angeles, Malibu or San Francisco congers up a mental image of lots of money, sophistication and style. What comes to mind when a person thinks of St. Louis? Only speaking for myself, I immediately think of the big stainless steel gateway arch.

I don't like Meghan, there's not a single thing likeable about her. She looks evil when she smiles, she looks evil when she's angry, and I guess her face in general is just something hard to look at. She's not well spoken and doesn't appear to have any intelligence. I would bet she excelled in cheerleading in high school, certainly not math or grammar. To top it all off, she's childish and still acts like the mean girl, her defenses are always up and ready to fight. She looks totally out of sync with the rest of the older housewives. She just looks out of her element and out of place.

I think it's important that we observe Meghan, in full mourning, following Leeann's recent death.  Check out recent posts on her Twitter feed:

She looks so, so, so.... not mournful at all.

No, she's in full manic phase right now, despite Leann's passing. And aren't those personalized hats she's promoting something special.

Given the number of her own tweets and the effort it must take to instantly delete all of the hundreds (thousands?) of derogatory tweets that surely get posted to her Twitter account, it's amazing she has time in the day to just to work on her biceps or do her neck stretching exercises.

I get the feeling her Twitter fan(atics) are a real special breed too.

This girl is so full of herself.

She looks like an elf from Lord of the Rings when she wears her headbands.  I wonder if they're missing her in Rivendell?

Meghan has alienated biological mothers and women over 30! I don't know what small demographic of Housewives fans are left. Plenty of men watch too so I'll correct that to biological parents. For a distasteful example of why she is so wrong about the bond being the same and I Will apologize in advance.....

If my stepchild and my biological child were in a burning building and I could only save one....just being totally honest don't hate me!

I can understand st. Louis not making the cut for a housewife show. A friend of my mom went to a casting a long time ago for a possible chicago franchise...but it was called off due to not finding 'suitable' housewives to fill out a roster.

Meghan is just entitled, and I'm curious to know how she really did in sales. I have a friend ( a guy) who does sales..and he's kind of like a male version of meghan )does the botox maintenance, talks up his importance, and can cut someone down in a blunt way like she can) and he happens to love meghan to boot when watching the show lol

I'm curious about her knowing the kids for two years. Maybe Jimmy was separated for a while.

Here is the story http://www.allabouttrh.com/.  So between Jim's separation and remarriage was less than two years.  He and Allison had plans to do the show and instead divorced.  Kind of a premature curse situation--the second Mrs. Edmonds didn't even start filming.  The Edmonds divorce was final in January of 2014-if a California divorce the latest they could have filed is six months earlier so July 2013.  So I think Meghan may be hedging a bit about being around the children for two years.

Meghan was at the Hoedown in October of 2013.  Was she a fiancee or a girlfriend?

She's like the car/trainwreck from which you just can't turn away.

I just want to chip in...I like Meghan. I think she has good intentions and I can't fault her for putting her heart and soul into her step-mom role.

I wasn't offended when she said she wished her step-kids were her kids. I would rather have a step mom who loves my kids than one who doesn't care about my kids, or starts all sorts of problems and drama between our two families.

I would have loved to have her on RHOBH because she is everything Brandi wants to be, but more! Younger, skinnier, blonder, richer, married, and living in a house.

And for goodness sake Vicki, stop gagging and making vomit noises. It's disgusting.
