Also I'm super behind so this was probably already noted but I loved Tiffany Haddish’s dress so much.  Also, I need Angela Bassett’s life regimen so I look like that at freaking 60.

One nice "proposal" touch: the guys on the aisle who reached out to hand her along the way; I guess the carpet is hard on heels or something?

Leslie Jones should be at every proposal.

I sort of want her to be ordained for it. Especially in that suit which I think is stunning on her.

Holy cats!  Never heard of her, & the LOVE seemed a bit over the top.  I did like her dress.

She started her career as a child actress, playing 1 of the daughters/the daughter on 227, which starred Marla Gibbs & Jackée (aka Jackée Harry). That was a longtime Saturday night NBC sitcom paired with Clifton Davis & Sherman Hemsley’s Amen.

I didn’t realize Ron Cephas Jones was in makeup on “This is Us.”  Hot damn he is FINE in his natural state.

I saw his daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones (And Peggy) in Hamilton a few times. She had some videos of them singing, which was enjoyable, but I saw him without makeup then. So it was less of a shock.

Tina what are you wearing. I love you as well, but did you and Maya shop for dresses together?

I don't mind Tina Fey's dress- wish she'd lose the belt though.

I didn't like the belt or that black lace.

Soooo....that’s how Tina Fey purposefully did her hair for a major awards show?  Mmmkay.  I mean, I don’t mean to disparage during In Memoriam, but she’s the one who looks like that.

I can't believe I had no idea who John Mulaney was before he hosted SNL.  He's fabulous!

His stand up shows are the best. His Tom Jones bit is a thing of beauty.

Just flipped over and I got all choked up at seeing John Mahoney :(.

I forgot that some of these people died-we've lost so freaking many of them lately!

I loved the proposal. I think the audience liked it too because it was a moment of real in all the hoopla.

Hee, he’s wearing a blue tux. He says he can’t wear a black tux cause he gets confused with waiters.

He read the Father Brown story?

No he said that on one of his appearances on Seth Meyers. I’m just amused that he clearly still thinks about it with his tux choices.

Not sure why they didn't mute the applause this go around.

Still sad that the likes of Reg E. Cathey, John Maloney, and others are no longer with us, but at least most of them seem to be older and have lived hopefully full lives.  I still remember the years were it felt like half of the In Memoriam was made up of young celebrities, and that made me even more sad.

They really need to either mute the applause or make everyone do it the entire time.

I think the applause was from the recording of Aretha singing.

Wow, I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name, but I was impressed with the tenure of someone who could write for both “Brian’s Song” and “Blossom.”

I teared up with Bourdain, but lost it with John Mahoney. I've been re-watching Frasier for the 200th time this week, and he is just so perfect. It was my favorite show as a kid, and I feel like I lost a grandfather when he passed.

This In Memorium was hard, y'all.

Yeah, it seemed like they got the message that people didn't like hearing the varying applause. Why go back to not muting it?

I thought maybe they dropped the Fred and Maya bit because it was bombing... Oh well.

Of course they would have Aretha sing during the memoriam.  There is no one who could top her.  Very beautiful.

I would like to thank Hugh Wilson for giving us WKRP.
