Big Brother Canada Season 4

Jared's reaction to the kiss was so stupid, Kelsey didn't even kiss Nick more than how she kissed Maddy.

And Raul was so stupid, he was helping Jared win veto? Umm Raul, who did you think was going to be replacement nominee?

Link to comment

Damn, Maddy in those red tights at the nomination ceremony.  That is all.

Someone has to tell Jared that God is in the tub, call back later -- and likely won't be helping in the veto comp.  Except he really did have an unfair advantage in that veto comp as a firefighter who has practiced drills similar to that.

Kelsey and Maddy kiss while both looking hot -- yowzer.  Let the erotic fan fiction begin

Kelsey looked pretty hot in her bikini later in the episode too.

Jared is such a baby -- gets up and leaves after Kelsey kisses Nicholas.  Does he not know how spin the bottle works ?  And he blames it on the fact he has wanted to punch Nicholas in the face since day one.  Since when ?  He's just pissed because someone else kissed HIS Kelsey.  Tim called it bang on.  But I'm sure it would have been fine if Jared was chosen to kiss one of the other girls.

Jared: "Nice guys finish last".
Maybe in his mind he's a nice guy, but the rest of Canada probably doesn't see it that way, especially after he treated Kelsey like she kissed Nicholas on purpose to make him mad.  Insecurity doesn't begin to describe this douchebag.

Thanks to Cassandra, Jared has a a new nickname -- Psychopants !!  It works.

Kelsey came off as a little bitchy at the veto ceremony -- man, could you tell that they rehearsed all that ?  It was pretty obvious.

Can't wait until Kelsey leaves, but wouldn't be terribly upset if oh-nooess-I'm-afraid-of-mice Raul left either.

What I don't like right now is that we get to see none of the rest of the players' strategy. We saw Cassandra saying she will try to keep Kelsey if she is up with Raul and work with her. We saw Raul trying to save his ass. Other than this, I don't know where the rest of the house stands. Who will vote for Kelsey to leave? I guess the brothers will as they did last time anyway. I understand they want to keep the mystery until the voting but still, things are happening and we who don't watch live feeds have no clue.

Bye Bye Raul. Not going to miss you.

And that truly was a random crappy roulette wheel -- shouldn't the wheel have been spinning faster for starters ?

The Brothers are the new HoH -- it's about the only way they could ever win.  The look on Nikki's face made me think she thought she was going to win for sure.

I suspect The Brothers will put up Maddy and Cassandra -- because that's what Jared would want them to do.  #cultofJared

Maddy in the black and blue bikini on the HoH bed -- that is all.

I have a hard time believing Canada really voted for the brothers. I find them boring. Phil is so desperate to be part of the "cool kids" with his hero Douchbag Snuffles Jared Kelsey caught Canada's play and her bitch face was proof of that. It always makes me laugh when houseguests find out they aren't as beloved by the viewers as they assume they are. Girls like her aren't used to not being made a big deal of. It gives me enjoyment to watch. I felt bad for Nikki. She was shocked she was picked and then allowed herself to get excited for nothing. I know she's nutty but if it weren't for her and Tim i wouldn't have laughed once yet this season. They make the show for me.

ETA: Am i the only one who notices that one day Maddy looks ok but the next day she almost looks like a baby piglet or a white rat? Something about her face. .is it when she isn't wearing makeup??? I can't figure it out.

I believe the brothers won because when you think about it Phil's votes and Nick's votes are combined together.

Love them right now too, Jared's pissed and he's going back on the block.

I don't know why, but Nick is fairly popular on Jokers Updates fan polls, although still consistently below Nikki, Tim, Cass and Joel (as well as a couple of evicted players like Mitch and Loveita).  I don't watch the feeds much, so maybe he is more interesting/likeable there than he has seemed on the broadcast.  And Phil, who is a few slots below Nick in polls generally, may have benefitted from his popularity.  Just guessing.

With the Brothers putting up Maddy and Ramsey, the cult of Jared continues its reign -- with everyone still playing for 2nd place.

Don't the Brothers even get that if they get Jared out, they now have a chance at playing for 1st place ?  Otherwise Jared is going to kick back and lounge all the way to the end for the win.

Mitch has already declared that he will vote for Jared (or Kelsey), and Raul will definitely vote for Jared.

They need to get Jared and Kelsey out -- that will force the trio of evil (Jared, Kelsey, Raul) to vote for someone else other than one of their own.

I have a hard time believing Canada really voted for the brothers.

In RHAP podcast someone was saying that Nikki must have taken the 50% of the votes and the rest of the players had like 11%, 10%, 9% etc so it came to some little percentage difference like this.

I don't know whether I like or dislike Phil. One minute he seems really cute and innocent, the other minute I want him to shut up. Especially the "wake up Canada" he says all the time needs to stop.

Other than that in RHAP they were discussing about an incident that happened with Raul before he was voted out and was only shown on live feeds; it seems that Raul grabbed and ate a hamburger Tim was eating at the moment and then drank some soda while being a have not which resulted in him being isolated for 24 hours in the back yard. Jordan was wondering how come this incident was not shown in the normal episode and the conclusion was that the producers didn't want to give him more air time because they are mad at him for him being such a terrible player and behaving that badly, breaking the rules. It doesn't matter now but just wanted to inform whoever is interested.

I don't know why people kept Kelsey. Raul is a bad player who can be easily manipulated while Kelsey is knowingly in a strong bond with Jared. Lets see how it goes...

The so-called guest appearing on the April 21 episode is none other than Elias "the Spartan" Theodorou, a.k.a. the dyslexic UFC/MMA/whatever-fighter who got himself and his girlfriend Max Altamuro eliminated first on Amazing Race Canada Season 3:

It seems that Tim and Cass are in a very good spot right now. We get many game regarding confessionals frolm Cass but none from Tim. Is he doing what Cass wants him to do? And how can Cass become this mastermind suddenly while the whole game she was this useless doll who knew nothing? Why is Joel not doing anything in this game? I like him but he has to MOVE so if he makes it to final two he has something to show the jury. I'm totally scared that whoever makes it to the final two will get Nikki with them so it will be so boring. Maddie is unlikeable but sje has a pretty much good resume to present to the jury so they should get her out.

Wow -- talk about filler.  The Wednesday episode went nearly 4 minutes before showing any new content.  Is that a record of some sort ?

And the Brothers show that their move to get out Maddy is all about fellating Jared .... umm, I mean loyalty.

Ramsey's mom needs to work on her communication skills -- she tells Ramsey that his dad had a heart attack, waits for the crying and THEN decides to tell him that he survived the heart attack.  What the hell Ramsey's mom ??

Ramsey -- bit of a drama queen.  He won't tell Maddy what's up (completely within his rights), but then pulls the whole "you don't understand" nonsense on her.  Of course she doesn't understand, Ramsey, you won't tell her.  So after being a dick to Maddy, he decides to talk to Jared.  Jared, really ?  All while Maddy eats her bowl of salad and tears.

Kelsey rocked that shiny blue outfit in the PoV comp.  Maddy was having an off day.

Seriously, Nikki took over a 1/2 hour in the PoV comp.  Bloody hell !!  She took 17 minutes longer than the 2nd worst time.

I can't believe that Nikki reacted worse than anyone else at Ramsey's announcement to leave the game.  Nikki ?  Really ?

I think Tim is the only one playing the game. He tried, but there's no convincing the idiot Brothers that Jared's shit don't stink.

On to tonight's episode -- I knew it was inevitable after Tim went up on the block, but I'm sad to see eye-candy Maddy go to jury.

ETA: Maddy's bed is a bed of tears -- to go with her salad.

The Brothers really need to get over themselves -- they are not better than everyone else.  They haven't really done anything for themselves in this game.  They didn't win their HoH -- it was given to them due to questionable popularity contest and random chance.

And the so-called "secret task" the Brothers completed -- was a foregone conclusion considering how much they have been hyping this UFC tie-in. They weren't not going to win the prize.

The acting was almost as bad as the Brick endorsements when the HoHs get there rooms.  How were those tasks not achievable ?

Who was the 7th person at the Loved Ones HoH comp ?  She was standing by herself with no podium in front of her off to the right.  Was that the Brothers' mom ?

Wow Ramsey's dad had 6 bypasses and is in ICU, with it being that serious there should have been no debate on whether to stay or go.

Good for Ramsey for leaving and glad he's dad is strong and recovering.

I am very mad with the production because what they did was really unfair and total BS. Ramsey won the veto and, according to a live feeder, admitted multiple times on live feeds he intends to use it on Maddie before he leaves and then the live feed was cut all these times. First of all it was unfair that the eviction still happened after Ramsey leaving while they could reset the week and get a new HoH. Second of all they created the impression Ramsey would use the veto on himself while that's BS because he had already decided to leave. So either don't even show the veto or make an earlier veto ceremony and let the player who won the veto actually choose who to use it on! But obviously they didn't want any of the rest of the players leave because they are better TV than Maddie. I didn't quite like her per se but I want to be just and fair and what happened was BS. Sorry for the swearing but I'm very mad.

I think the Ramsey episode was heavily edited for maximum drama. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I read that the POV competition took place BEFORE Ramsey even got the phone call from his mom. So I really don't think there was much debate about it, pretty sure Ramsey decided he was leaving the game very soon after he got the news.  It wouldn't be fair to allow him to use the veto on Maddy and then exit the game, if he's withdrawing, then he withdraws completely. And, if he had decided to stay, he obviously would have used the veto on himself.

That entire scene just showed how self-centered Maddy is. She kept asking him what she could do and he kept telling her he wanted to be alone but she kept going on and on and on "Whyyyy? What happened? Whyyyyy?"  Like, bitch, he JUST told you to leave him alone.  In fact, Maddy's entire reaction was all about herself and not what Ramsey was going through. From the time he got the phone call until the very second he walked out the door, Maddy made it all about herself.  So glad she's gone!

Yes this is right, the PoV competition had happened before the news. So if there was a veto ceremony and Ramsey gave the veto to Maddie and then he left, wouldn't it be fair? It's his veto, he has the right to use it however he wants.

Link to comment

I disagree. I don't think it would be fair at all. If someone is quitting the game, then they're quitting the game...they don't get to do just one last thing on the way out the door.

But Ramsey would not reveal he was going to leave in tjat scenario. He would stay for the pov ceremony and after that he'd say "I decided to leave and go support my dad". What would the production do then?

Link to comment

I don't think the POV ceremony had taken place yet when he decided to leave. I assume production asked him what he would do with the veto had he stayed and obviously he told them he would have used it on himself. (Which he obviously would have.)

Putting this in spoiler tags only because it is extra info from the live feeds, the timeline of Ramsay's news from home, veto, etc.

Ramsay did actually get the news before the Veto comp. He was looking forward to the comp to get his mind off things. He was allowed to leave the house the following morning, and then come back. It was only on his way back from visiting his Dad that he decided to leave the game. At that point, he came back in the house to say his goodbyes and all that. Before he decided to leave, he had said he intended to use the veto on himself.

ETA: some of this, I saw myself on the feeds. Some I got from twitter (hamsterwatch and BigBrotherDaily)

Most awkward loved ones reunion ever -- lets put everyone on a fairly narrow platform, and have them rushing to get to their loved ones.  That was just really poorly designed. As for the comp itself, first one to ring in was practically guaranteed to win since so many rocks were missed being counted because of the extreme facials.

Is it just me -- or did the BBCAN producers put a lot more effort into making the HoH room different each week ? Because this year, it seems like basically the same room decor every week with the only new thing being some photos and some new item from 'The Brick'.

The wedding was just .... weird and awkward. So basically, there was no risk to go along with the reward for getting the Have Not room closed. So it was basically just a time killer for the Sunday episode because nothing else is happening and these people are just so boring.  And how/why were Joel and Nikki chosen ?  Joel needed to check the porno tongue at the door that he tried to apply to Nikki when he kissed 'the bride'.  Was he not aware this was a fake wedding ?  Were those bridesmaid dresses intentionally bad ?  Because they fitted terribly.

Thanks for the info! I'd heard bits and pieces of all this but I couldn't figure out what was true and what wasn't.

I find it really unfair that they would let Ramsey out to visit his family and then let him back in the house. I mean, I get that it was a family emergency but, still, once you leave, you shouldn't be allowed back in.

Which is why it's driving me crazy that frigging Kelsey is still there. She was voted out...what's dead should stay dead!

If Ramsey got the news before the veto comp, then he shouldn't have been allowed to keep the veto if he was leaving the game. (Temporarily or not). My wishes for a speedy recovery to his dad and I'm impressed he made the right decision in putting family first.

The producer interference on BBCan is so obvious and distasteful it makes it hard to invest in the show. They can't keep changing the rules to protect their favourites. If a veto-holding player self-eliminates, there should be a new competition. I just find it unbelievable that he wouldn't have used his veto to save Maddie as he self-eliminated.

On RHAP there was a live feed broadcaster who said that at least three times Ramsey said he was intending to give the veto to Maddie and then the feeds were being cut. Even Maddie herself, after Ramsey left, said that it was a shame cause Ramsey would give the veto to her and the feeds were cut again. This shows that the producers had a lot to do with the result. They should have either reset the week and start over, either cancel the veto competition or let Ramsey use the veto on Maddie, then leave and then the brothers nominate two new people for eviction. What they did was taking over the game and making their own decisions. I'm sad about that cause I have always said that BBCan producers used to respect their viewers more than US version producers by creating twists that don't give the advantage to players who bring them good ratings (the best example is Rachel in BB US where the producers almost gave her the win just like they did in Survivor with Boston Rob. So shame that BBCan follows this road...

The brothers trying to put themselves on the block was hilarious. What idiots.

Jared gone yay! He lied right to Joel's face telling him Cassandra said she'd put him up. She told Jared the only person was NOT Joel because he fought for the veto. Jared lied and made Joel cry. Glad Joel evicted him.

Nikki got a standing ovation and Jared the king didn't.

What happened tonight?  Cassandra was just screwing with the brothers (the mind-blowingly idiotic brothers!) when she used the veto, right? Cause if Tim had stayed on the block, Nikki would have still gone home.  Or did she fear Joel might vote Tim out while she knew Tim would not vote Joel out?  And if that was the case, why did she go out of her way to promise the brothers she wouldn't use the veto, knowing that would unnecessarily antagonize them when she did?  And if she was just having fun with the brothers, was Joel in on it?  Because otherwise she was just unnecessarily antagonizing him by ensuring he would go up in Tim's place.

In other news, Jared is out!  Yay!

Link to comment

Tim, Cass and Joel are probably on the final three. Cass has no chance to win with either of them though. She chose the most strategic and the most likeable guy. I hope Joel wins it.

I hope Jared enjoys his $100 000 curls. How vain do you have to be to give up a shot at that much money because you love your hair *that* much? Ridiculous. Sure, he's nice to look at but him and Kelsey are so entitled and obnoxious. They truly seem to think everyone else should have parted like the Red Sea and let the two of them stroll to the finals.

Poor Nikki, getting booted on her birthday. She was adorable. I'm glad Canada voted her in. But I really think they made a mistake by booting her and keeping Joel. Joel is smart and likeable and would most likely beat all of them in the end. Not to mention, he's not afraid to play the game and, if the time comes when it's better for him to ditch Tim & Cass, he would do it in a heartbeat. Nikki, on the other hand, hasn't done much of anything in terms of earning jury votes and she would have been loyal to Tim & Cass until the end.

So over the fucking Paq brothers! Why couldn't Arisa have just said "Ok, you're on the block" and not given them time to dick around?

A live feeds broadcaster noticed something really interesting reagarding the HoH and the PoV competitions; historically the HoH competition is one with questions (just like the PoV competistion) and the PoV competition is a physical one. This guy suggested that the producers want to keep the brothers in there so much that they made the HoH competition into the PoV and vice versa so that Nick has a better chance to win the HoH. I find this very interesting and I don't doubt that it may have happened indeed.

Other than that what we weren't shown was a very mean Jared who asked Kelsey to vote against him so that Cass doesn't have the joy to break the tie and herself vote him out. He showed a really bad character saying to Cass "we are raised differently" while it's a game and it's only natural Cass wants to vote out someone who she thinks can beat her in the end.

I don't get why Cass needed to save Tim while they still had the votes to save him and vote out Nikki. Cass is under the illusion that she will win against Tim but I really doubt it, especially since the 9th vote of the jury will probably be Canada's vote. Plus with this move she showed Joel he is the number three in their alliance which is really really bad for her to potentiallly risk losing Joel at the moment. I guess she just did it to create drama and add it to her resume in the final two. If Cass makes it to the end though she has 3 lost votes (Jared, Kelsey and brothers) which must worry her.

That was one of two reasons she gave, as reported on JU.  The other was to hide the fact that Joel is allied with her and Tim

Spoiler

although it sounds like K/P&N do know that now and may have at the time as well; it wasn't clear to me

Anyhow, that still doesn't explain why Cass felt the need to follow the brothers to the washroom during the commercial break and assure them she wouldn't use the veto if she won it, when they wouldn't even be playing.  Watching it again, all I can guess is that she wanted to try to influence them not put her up as a replacement if Tim or Nikki got themselves off the block.  On the other hand, Cass did seem really irritated by the way P&N were questioning her before she even said what she would do.

I also noticed when I re-watched the ep that Cass whispered to Joel just before she made her announcement, presumably to let him know what she what she was going to do.

Kelsey (after winning the HoH comp): "I'm the smartest person in the world."

Umm, no.

How many of these memory comps are they going to have this season ?  This is what the 3rd or 4th already -- are the comp creators just that bored and bereft of ideas ?

And while it was interesting seeing of the behind the scenes moments of the double eviction episode, did they have to replay everything they showed on the previous episode as well ?  Especially since they just showed a lot of it during the "Previously, on Big Brother" intro.  Did they really have so little to show since Thursday ?

The Brothers really are trying to bully their way to the finale.  They need to get sent to jury ASAP.

I always hate the bullies on BBUSA & BBC. The ones who think everyone needs to fall in line. That scene in the previous season where the letters got shredded...i almost had a stroke i was so upset at how mean those men became to her. And the rest of them allowed it to happen.

Don't they understand they are in a game?  They went in to win it..not to help  some stranger win it.

All of a sudden Phil found his balls..with just Joel and Tim left in the house. Two men who use their brains rather than their voices. Nick looked stupid yelling  too. .all red faced.

They are ridiculous.

And Kelsey the ultimate mean girl bitch stoking the flames.  I want Tim or Cass or Joel to win but I'm getting that greasy BBUSA feeling that production is actually motivating a win for those idiotic brothers.

The Diary Room sessions, and assorted other stuff we didn't see after Thursday's live show was interesting, but they really should have edited out most of the stuff they replayed (which was mentioned in the Previously On segment anyway). They could have kept maybe 10-15 seconds before and after the new stuff, just to give us context of where they fit. That probably would've constituted 3-4 minutes tops at the start of the episode rather than the first 15, or however many minutes it was.

That would've allowed them to show more of that dinner table conversation, when only a fraction was aired. Believe me, that conversation lasted ALOT longer, and included the brothers hurling heaps of verbal abuse at Cass (enough to make me uncomfortable), and showing just how violent Phil almost got at times. Threatening to "knock this fucking whore's teeth out, even if I get evicted" (Phil), "you fucking disgusting lying bitch" (Nick) and a lot of other threats against Cass by both boys, followed by their screaming matches at Tim in the kitchen after Cass finally left was deeply disturbing. So much rage ("ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" multiple times), and never giving either one a chance to even get so much as a sentence out before both began shouting and swearing over them, for the entire duration. Oh, and the "we were just raised properly" spiel to Cass a few times.

All the while poor Joel was seen maybe twice, popping in to grab some water before heading upstairs and out of sight. Poor guy gets super-uncomfortable with screaming and yelling, and I don't blame him.

Ah, those good old kind decent Paq brothers.

They had better hope that clip never makes it to Youtube.

On to tonight's episode -- Joel completely screwed himself by keeping Tim in the dark about what his PoV comp plans were.

Can people give away the Veto to someone else to use ?  Because the ideal plan would have been either Joel win, or Tim gives Joel the Veto to take Tim off the block and they vote the insufferable Brothers out.

If the Brothers could nominate themselves, why couldn't that happen ?

ottoDbusdriver, the clip is LONG, and from the moment the brothers sit down at the table with Cassandra, Tim and Kelsey to the moment Tim and Cassandra are both upstairs and the brothers are fuming downstairs with Kelsey lasts roughly 60 minutes. In that time-frame, a LOT of shit is said, a LOT of accusations thrown, and a LOT of talking in circles, repeating conversations, rehashing, etc. I nodded off a few times and could still hear the brothers cursing and yelling in my earbuds.

Is it me, or has the hypocritical self-righteous, self-aggrandizing preaching gotten seriously out of hand this season? Watching BB Canada this season makes me want to scream, "Goddamnit, people, it's just a game! Get off your goddamn soapboxes, stop preaching about how morally superior you are just because other houseguests are playing a different game than you! 'I don't tell lies! I never play both sides! WAH' Get over yourselves!!" Arrghhh, it's driving me crazy and makes me hate everyone. It's no longer a question of whether someone I like wins or not, over the 'evil' other side, it just makes me wish most of these houseguests would die in a house-fire.

I wish we could just end the season with no winner. If anything, I'm rooting for Cass (never thought I'd say that at the beginning of the season!) but she's basically screwed this week so...

Thanks @HeShallBMySquishy -- I'm curious to see if I can find it now.

Yay Cass! Definitely the right move to get rid of Joel, he would have beat them all. I hope they show whatever went down between him and the brothers, sounds like we missed a lot.

I really hope Tim goes next. It would be so wrong to have an Aussie win this. That would be so much worse than those Americans who played, like Gary, who unfortunately seems to be coming back next week.  Or did I hear that wrong.

Unfortunately, you heard correctly.  Gary will be back and handing out the BBCan Awards or some such nonsense (it will basically be a clip show).
