So, what do you guys figure the series missed?  I'm not talking dramatically or whatever, but were this technology widely available, how would it change things?  My guesses:

There'd be a rise in elaborate home cooking.  Synths can be programmed for fine dining so why not?  Bet everybody's yard would look all nice too.

Also, pretty sure everyone would be shagging their synth but nobody would talk about it.  Much the same way that most folks have a sex toy or two lying around their house but nobody makes a big deal about it.  Your synth, your business.

Bet it'd also mean way less crime.  Synths everywhere means (I would think) more cameras everywhere.  I'd be hesitant to try to steal one if I thought the police would have a video of me doing so about 5 seconds later.  And synths are apparently expensive so they'd likely be lojacked.

It occurred to me that, given the means, I'd set up the home-life of my dreams.  I think I'd live like a 15th century samurai.  Buy some land, have my synths build a couple of houses, farm, and manicure my grounds.  I'd hide the wifi and widescreen - some things have gotten better in the last couple of centuries.

I'd expect lots of folks to do this, kinda like everyone's personal West World.  Some might be more controversial than others - would you take offense at your neighbor living on an antebellum plantation à la 12 Years a Synth?  How would it change things to know your best friend lives like Ragnar Lothbrok at home?  Could I have an 11th century harem composed of synths who look exactly like Jessica Alba?  One might expect her to object except I'm sure I'll be able to buy the licensed Jessica Alba © Synth.  Is there any way this wouldn't get out of hand?

I don't care how creepy they make the synths. I want one. I want two. Because of illness and disability, at some point, I will have to hire people to do more things I want to do for myself, and at some point, it's going to get more personal. There are so many issues that wouldn't exist with a synth. Sign me up!

I agree, sign me for a synth! I'm having more issues as I age and could use a lot of help around this place. I'm still able to do my  ADL'S, but yardwork, and the honey do list are killing me. Japan appears to be the only country working on robots. Unfortunately, it seems sex dolls of all ages, and sizes. I'm not into pedophillia, and my personal life is, well personal. I wish they would work on robots for everyday applications to fulfill an ageing societies needs. In about 2 years they think we might have self-driving cars.Too bad Elon Musk is against the evolution of A1. With his expertise he could work on building robots.

++++++++++++++++ Just think how healthy society would be if synths cooked healthy good tasting meals. Just like the wealthy have their own personal chefs. Oprah could give a synth for me, a synth for you, and synth for everyone! I love Oprah! Synth's could cook, clean, laundry, yard work, car maintenance/repair etc.......................... . But, sad to say, I'm sure it would be like rides to the moon, too many greenbacks for the average joe and josette. One could always hope though. Overtime, someone would build an affordable synth. Or, figure out how to diy one, lol.
