Furious 7 was jam-packed with great fight scenes,

especially Hobbs Vs. Shaw, the prison bus fight,  Letty vs. Female Bodyguard in Abu Dhabi  Brian's warehouse fight & Dom vs. Shaw

George Miller's director of photography explains the technique he used for the "water" tanker fight scene.

The frenetic action and  use of props that restricts the movement of the characters during the fight reminds me of Jackie Chan fight choreography.

I just watched the Kingsman again, I think Colin Firth has a nice bookend of film fights: one one end is the silly fight with Hugh Grant in Bridget Jones' Diary and the other is his awesome massacre in Kingsman.

Speaking of silly fights: the Black Knight vs. King Arthur in Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Bumping it up with three great fight scenes from Blade 2. First, Blade Vs. Asad & Nyssa, who wanted to recruit Blade to fight the Reapers One of the cleverest things about this scene was director Guillermo DelToro's use of puppets:

Next, Blade Vs. the Head Reaper, Nomek:

Last, but not least, Blade Vs. guards:

Bumping it up to show some love for the trailer for Captain America: Civil War,

specifically the scene where Cap & the Winter Soldier are both kicking Iron Man's ass

.

ETA  from Kingsman: The Secret Service, the epic fight between Eggsy , the one of the new recruits into the Kingsman agency & Gazelle, the female, double-amputee assassin:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXPqrmE_rp4

Then there's the awesome fight scene featuring Colin Firth's Agent Galahad/Harry Hart Vs. a pub full of thugs. Three words: "Manners maketh man":

Bumping it up to show love to the two best fight scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens,

which started out as Finn Vs. Kylo Ren, but ended up as Rey Vs. Kylo. Despite losing to Kylo, Finn held his own, but it was Rey who kicked Kylo's petulant, ignorant, psycho, Daddy-killing ass

I just rewatched 1988's They Live! starring the late Roddy Piper and it still has one of the best fights ever between him and Keith David, which lasts five minutes. Not only is it very brutal and realistic in terms of both getting so injured and tired by the end, it also works a perfect metaphor for trying to get someone to change their ideology or see the truth about the world and them stubbornly refusing because they want to stay comfortable. Roddy's character is trying to get him to wear the glasses which will help him see that aliens are among them and Keith David's character just won't do it.

Bumping it up with three great fight scenes. The first is Max Vs. Furiosa, Nux & The Breeders in Mad Max: Fury Road:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxZ90pP-Bas

Then there's the now-famous Leo DiCaprio Vs. the bear scene from The Revenant. Last, but not least, while there's many great fight scenes in Deadpool, for my money, the best one

features full-frontal male nudity, including that from the film's star, Ryan Reynolds

In the various Marvel movies... I love watching Cap fight. Even in the first Avengers movie where he really wasn't super duper powered or anything... his fight on the Hellicarrier with Loki's agents and then against the Chitauri at the bank. I love that he uses all sorts of things as weapons and I really love when he goes all turtle behind the shield.

Winter Soldier? Love it. The entire movie of Cap kicking ass all. over. the. place. And it always perplexes me how Bucky as the Winter Soldier seems to be treated like the better fighter (especially in a lot of the fanfic out there -- don't get me started, that has basically taken over my life, it's a problem) when Cap either holds his own until the big Bucky reveal or flat out WINS the fight (come on, the bit where he holds Bucky up like two feet off the ground by his throat and then slams him to the floor of the Insight hellicarrier?) and is only then taken out due to a) more interested in completing the takedown of Hydra and Project Insight b) going back to save Bucky and then c) dropping the shield and refusing to fight.

So, yeah, I love watching Cap fight. Just love it.

Plus that fight in the elevator is really fantastic. I love that Cap's fights are like acrobatic ballet.

It seemed like Cap is always holding back a bit in fights but then when you see him lift Bucky up with one hand, you realize just how damn strong he is.

I hear you. I have a "to read" list a mile long. Maybe we should start a support group.

That elevator fight is a thing of beauty. Between that, the car chases, and the first hand to hand with Winter Soldier/Buck, the Winter Soldier is just an embarrassment of riches.

And then they gave us Black Panther in Civil War. I just can't with all the goodness.

All the Marvel movies have some amazing fight choreography, but it seems that the best have been in the Captain America movies.  I know it's a television show, but Netflix's Daredevil has some amazing fight sequences.

And how can one discuss fight scenes without mention The Forbidden Kingdom's fight between Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

The movie Legend, the story of Ronnie & Reggie Kray, the British twin gangsters who ruled London in the 1960s starring Tom Hardy in the title roles had two great fight scenes, one featured the Krays attacking their rivals and the other featured them fighting each other.

I don't watch many action films to be honest, but one film that springs to mind is Terminator 2 and the  final fight sequence between the two terminators (with Sarah Connor kicking some arse for good measure)

Indiana Jones' "fight" with the guy with the scimitar in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

In the pre-internet, pre-spoiler days, it was so unexpected. Harrison Ford came up with the idea because he had a stomach bug and didn't want to go through the planned fight scene. Spielberg set it up perfectly. With Jones carrying the whip in the lead up, the crowd parting to reveal villain and his display of fancy sword skills.

Thor: Ragnarok was filled with great fight scenes, such as

Spoiler

Thor Vs. Hulk (Thor: "He's a friend from work"), Valkyrie Vs. Loki,  The Asgardians Vs. Hela, Hulk Vs. Fenrir, Hela Vs. Thor & any Thor fight scene set to "Immigrant Song."

Just in time for Christmas, I'm bumping it up to àdd the fight scene from A Christmas Story, where Ralphie beats up Farkus the school bully, punching & cussing the whole time until Ralphie's mom breaks it up.

Another classic fight scene is from another Christmas classic: Die Hard, McClane vs. Karl, especially when McClane threatened to "kill, cook & eat" Karl.

Am not really a big fan of martial arts films and all that kung fu malarkey, however, while staying with a couple of friends one of them put this on their DVD player. To be honest when I saw the title "IP Man", I thought it might be about an IT geek guy, but as it turns out it's a Hong Kong martial arts film, with some pretty breathtaking fighting scenes.

Black Panther has several great fight scenes,

Spoiler

whether it's T'Challa Vs. M'Baku, T'Challa Vs. Killmonger or the casino brawl, which had the best use of a wig in a fight scene since Big Momma's House.

John Wick 3 is basically just a long fight scene, but it was awesome anyway.

Spoiler

There were not only great hand-to-hand, fights, there were great fights with guns, knives, swords, horses, dogs (naturally) and a book. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who can beat motorcycle-riding ninjas on horseback is not to be messed with.

John Wick is about at least 4x (?) the badass that Rama from The Raid series is, because he takes on both Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman at the same time. (Ruhian in the first Raid movie might be one of the most fearsome final bosses ever.)

A lot of my favorites have already been mentioned, so I'll go with the bathroom fight in Mission: Impossible - Fallout. It's inventive, well-executed, and I love that Cruise and Cavill have to take some time to recover and then are only saved when Rebecca Ferguson intervenes.

I just watched Winter Soldier again. In addition choreography of the elevator fight, I also love the bookends of "Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?" and the defiant stomp he uses to flip his shield up as the camera looks down on his defeated foes.

It's always they fight with the Winter Soldier, in the streets of Cleveland Washington that impresses me the most. The choreography, the smoothness of Bucky's moves and the shock Steve clearly registers at facing someone who is a real challenge, the gun and knife play. It's everything a fight scene should be, in my view. And it does all that without being over-indulgently long or drawn out.

Seeing Bruce Lee (Mike Moh) as Kato was super cool.  Moh was sensational as Lee.  The speechifying before the fight was incredibly bang on.  Fantastic!

The fight itself wasn't all that, but it felt true to Lee's stylizations.  It was a gift, imo.  For a few moments, Lee lived once again.
