Regarding Blair Underwood, and the description that he's "charming".... I feel like he always gets typecast into the role of "suave black man".  Need a minority character who is suave and charming?  Blair Underwood is at the top of the casting list.  The same thing happened to Billy Dee Williams after his appearance as Lando Calrissian.

Looks like Li Jun Li and Iris Chang are out.  This article calls her "Quantico alum".  I hadn't realised she had been cut, but this article suggests she has a series regular option on Chicago P.D. and therefore that returning to Quantico or being on both shows isn't even an option.

Makes me wonder who else is or isn't returning.

I am thinking that Jacob Artist might not return either but I am hoping he will, fingers crossed. Like Iris, I feel that Brandon's story is unfinished. Who knows, if he returns back to Quantico in season two, we might see him help Alex in someway.

It is more likely that Graham Rogers, Marcia Cross, Henry Czerny and Aunjanue Ellis will return in the next season. Caleb, Shelby and Claire will tie-in to Alex's story next season (making the public known that Claire was working with Liam in order to win the vice-presidential election). Matthew Keyes is a pivotal character in aiding Alex's progression at the CIA. In regards to Miranda, we need to see how she is coping with the aftermath of Liam's treachery and Charlie's death.

I recently got an update. The Quantico team hired Tracy Ifeachor for season 2. She will be playing a recurring role as Lydia Bates in the coming season. Lydia is described as a "highly accomplished actuary with a few twists up her sleeve." Also, prior to the hiring of Tracy for the role of Lydia, another article mentioned that her character is described as "Jessica Jones by night, Jessica Chastain in 'Zero Dark Thirty' by day." It is interesting to note that the description highlights a reference to Jessica Jones. Her character sounds quite mysterious and I am very intrigued. I hope she plays a bigger role in the events of season 2.

Just to extend on the above news, the team also hired Pearl Thusi for season 2. She will be playing a series regular role as Dayana Mampasi in the coming season. The character she will be playing is described as "driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer. After graduating top of her class at Harvard, she worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm. But though she seems to have it all, Dayana struggles to fit in." From the sounds of the description, her character interests me and I am hoping to see great things from her. Also, David Lim and Aarón Díaz have been cast for roles in season 2 of Quantico. They will be both playing recurring roles in the series. David Lim will be playing a character called Sebastian Chen, who is described as "a focused and confident future agent" and Aarón Díaz will be playing a character named León Velez who is best described as a "thrill-seeking photojournalist with no home or life outside his backpack". The characters of Sebastian and León sound intriguing to me and I can't wait to see their developments in season 2 of Quantico.

In light of the recent news, I can help but wonder, how season 2 will shape up. Already, I am a huge fan of the castings so far. Furthermore, I am in love with the castings of Russell Tovey and Blair Underwood in their respective roles. Harry Doyle might be Quantico's Connor Walsh with a compelling twist. He will also be the third gay character after Elias Harper and Hannah Wyland in the series. I hope the writers will provide Tovey with an opportunity to better represent the LGBT community with the character that he will playing in the show. Owen Wilson is an interesting character too. I assume that he might be one of Alex's superiors at Langley. I hope that he won't be another Liam O'Connor though, fingers crossed. I love Blair Underwood as I remember him well from his role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

So far, I am happy with the news. Lastly, I wanted to mention that the cast already started shooting in NYC last week for the season 2 premiere episode. Anyways guys, I posted the links below so you can check the validity of the above information for your review. Have a nice day!

Any word on if this crapfest will be returning for a season three..

LOL. Renewal announcement. I have no idea how it got renewed. They lost me after around six episodes in the first season. I decided to try the second season upon hearing about the new cast members. Then they were either killed off or disappeared with little explanation as to where they had gone. Well, I left too. They won't fool me again with any casting additions. Plus, the season was one big mess, much like the first!

Wow, I'm surprised. I guess it'll wrap up with the 13 or they'll do another 4th season with 13.

My guess is they'll closely track ratings and if they like it they might get another 10 or so epis next spring. I was pretty sure they were going to renew especially when they had nimah and shelby promoting the online game/website. Also fan reaction to Chopra's accident seemed strong(which epi was she filming at the time?)

More Iris! Heck the name of the show Quantico, not agent Alex.

I'm not watching if Tovey isn't back. He's what made most of this season watchable.

Since Joshua Safran exited from his role as a primary showrunner of the series, it was recently announced by ABC that Michael Seitzman (showrunner of Code Black) was cast as the new showrunner for Quantico. Unfortunately, I doubt that Russell Tovey (who plays Harry Doyle) will be back as he is not going to be a series regular, from season 3 onward. Likewise, Aunjanue Ellis (who plays Miranda Shaw) will not be returning as a series regular in the upcoming season of Quantico. Currently, the main cast of season 3 consists of Priyanka Chopra (Alex Parrish), Johanna Braddy (Shelby Wyatt), Jake Mclaughlin (Ryan Booth) and Blair Underwood (Owen Hall).

I just came here to see if it had improved, after reading that it was renewed. I stopped watching after the first season, because it seemed like the hair of cast members, was more compelling than the show itself. Gorgeous hair, crappy show.

Just binged this show and damn it, she was one of the only characters keeping me interested. The twins dynamic was one of the most fascinating in the show or any show for that matter. I was already bummed that there was so little of them interacting in season 2. But now she won't even be back... and of course we are left with the most boring, cliché characters in Ryan and Shelby. Anyone cast as Caleb's uncle that she can sleep with next?

I got new updates on the casting and production for the third season. As mentioned above, Russell Tovey is back so that means, we will get to see more of the former MI-6 agent/CIA recruit, Harry Doyle in the third season of Quantico. Another thing I wanted to mention as well is that we will also be seeing Jay Armstrong Johnson (as Will Olsen) in the third season. Also, the Quantico team hired Marlee Matlin, Alan Powell and Amber Skye Noyes for the upcoming season. Marlee will be playing the series regular role of ex-FBI agent Jocelyn Turner, Alan will play the series regular role of Mike McQuigg, an undercover agent (presumably FBI) and Amber will play the recurring role of Celine Fox, a new recruit (presumably with a CIA background) of an elite black ops team.  Filming for the third season began on October 10th 2017. Lastly, the first episode of the third season will depict scenes from Italy. So far, I am happy with the news.  Anyways guys, I posted the links below so you can check the validity of the above information for your review. The synopsis for the third season was recently released. Looks like Shelby will be kidnapped by the rogue group, who will demand a ransom from Alex and her crew.

Quote

“It’s been three years since American hero Alex Parrish has had to navigate the dangerous waters of the Central Intelligence Agency and put her life on the line for her country,” says ABC. “She has been living a peaceful, anonymous life somewhere in Italy. However, Alex is forced to abandon this idyllic existence when Ryan persuades her to help him rescue Shelby from a notorious international arms dealer known only as The Widow, who is holding her hostage – and in exchange for her release she demands something that only Alex can provide. Ryan and Alex recruit Owen and Harry to help rescue their friend and defeat the villain. To help the cause, Owen brings in former agent Jocelyn Turner (Marlee Matlin), who has her own dark past with The Widow. A whole new future lies ahead for this team when they agree to work together as an elite black-ops task force. The thrilling, heart-stopping adventures continue.”

In case anyone other than me turned on ABC last night and was disappointed not to be able to relax to (and snark about) a new episode of Quantico, apparently it's moving to Friday at 8, starting next week.
