Growing up where Herbie Brooks made his bones, have to root for the Gophers. I have always wondered one thing about college hockey however. There are 72 schools that play Division I hockey, how is it that one of them is in Huntsville, Alabama?

My brother-in-law is a Colgate alum and he follows their hockey team passionately, and based on his multitude of FB posts about the team I thought they'd be in the Frozen Four.

Goddamn, I wish the Wisconsin program wasn't a dumpster fire right now. Plus Alvarez has said he's not firing head coach Mike Eaves. It got to the point this season where when the team scored a goal, I would literally count the seconds until the other team scored in return. Then again. And again. And again. When they lost to Michigan in the BTT I nearly wept tears of relief that the season was over. Mercifully, blessedly over.

Maybe this is the deal Barry made with God or the devil for a decent football and basketball program. "YOU CANNOT HAVE ALL THREE AT ONCE. SACRIFICE ONE, ALVAREZ."

And one will soon be in Arizona thanks to a big donation to ASU.

So Minn. State-Mankato, the overall No. 1 seed, is out in the first round to RIT.  And for the two of us who put picks in, HM is 2 points ahead, figuring 1 point for 1st round games, 2 for second, 4 for the FInal Four games and 8 for the championship.... and since we had identical picks in the Final Four, it comes down to the Denver-Providence game: he wins if Denver does, if the Friars win we will tie.

Frozen Four selection show is going to be at noon ET Sunday on ESPNU.

The women are already down to Wisconsin and Clarkson for the championship Sunday afternoon.

I love that there are two Ivy League teams in the tournament because I'm a dork like that.   Also, the AFA?  Considering the stringent requirements to just get into the service academies I'm almost surprised they're able to field a team but good for them.

And congrats to the Clarkson Knights!

I'll fill out the Men's bracket too MarkHB, though I have NO idea which the better teams are. Hoping I won't be as terrible at this one as I'm doing in the basketball tournament (I'm in last place in my group of friends.)

Hmm. Not sure if it's a school thing or the schedule at the United Center/ Chicago?

Mark, you got two of the FF correct, I got two. It's a wash?

It's a wash to this point (or it's more likely that you're ahead on points tbh), but you've got Denver and I've got Minn-Duluth winning the final.

5-0 Denver over Notre Dame after two periods. Yikes.

And Minn Duluth scored with 27 seconds left to beat Harvard earlier.

Minn Duluth vs Denver for all the marbles.

My heartfelt congratulations and twice as much in valuable prizes as the football pool winner won!
