That could be true, I can see him as a moderate/centrist Republican.

I follow him on Twitter and he is a republican but as you say a Never Trumper.

So the “word on the street” is that Cameron hasn’t signed on yet for the new season and hasn’t done any filming yet either. She’s either holding out for more money or is likely not wanting to return; makes sense when you consider how close she grew to Naomi and Chelsea, who both definitely aren’t returning.

Also, supposedly Eliza tried to hold out for more money/a bigger role and was quickly given walking papers. Probably doesn’t help that she’s still very Team Ravenel/Ashley, of course.

Interesting, this link was just posted last week:

https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/southern-charm-season-7-officially-starts-filming-after-long-hiatus/?utm_campaign=likeshopme&utm_medium=instagram&utm_source=dash hudson&utm_content=www.instagram.com/p/B81uuglFd-f/

That would be several people not coming back, 3 female regulars.

They'd have to scramble to find women to replace them and I don't mean whatever groupies Shep can dredge up at the bars.

Thanks for the link. I’m not jazzed about Cameran coming back. She’s boring all by herself, but now it sounds like her boring husband will be making more appearances, too. 🙄

It’s late (early?) and I just skimmed the article — did it say Austen and Madison are back together? 🤢 I’d rather just Madison come back.

I’m firmly in Camp Cameran and don’t want to watch if she’s not on. I think that she’d be best in a friend of capacity at this point but don’t want to see her written off completely. Leva,  Danni, Madison of Gwynn’s, Madison of Austen, and Kathryn all posted pictures of this group in various iterations last week. Cameran was not in any of the pictures, which makes me much less interested in the show.  Apparently they were at a party celebrating the 10 year anniversary of one of Leva’s restaurants. Not a good omen.

I like Cameran,Chelsea and Naomi. The only thing interesting about Eliza of the ratty weave was her father’s baby mama drama and none of that played out on camera. Madison of Gwynn’s seems okay. Danni is blah and has permanently shoved her head up Kathryn’s ass so she annoys the everlasting shit out of me.  I don’t like Madison of Austen and I loathe Kathryn.

The US Weekly article seems to only assume Chelsea and Naomie are filming because they were together at an event related to dogs. They occasionally hang out when Chelsea is in town and both are involved with a local animal shelter.
I am not saying that they aren’t a part of the cast but that alone seems to be fairly dubious.

FWIW, Shep is a Democrat, or left-leaning, at the least. I don’t follow him, but I remember someone posted about him being an ass on Twitter toward people who think differently than he does, and I was surprised to find out his political views.

Not surprising to me 🤷‍♀️

Well, I was surprised when I thought he was a Democrat. The revelation that he is a moderate Republican was more in line with what I would expect with Shep.

So apparently some of these asshats (Craig, Austen, Kathryn,) were spotted out together in a crowded venue earlier this week, definitely not practicing social distancing. I don’t know if they were doing it for filming purposes but when called out about it on social media, Austen’s response was to be a dick. Rather than apologize or assure the public that they took every precaution, he became defensive. He said that they got death threats, which I don’t believe. No one should get death threats ever. Period. If they did, that’s inexcusable. I just don’t believe him. His entitlement is obnoxious. Damn, I’m sure beginning to hate Southern Charm.

I'd heard that there was heavy pre-St. Patrick's day partying in downtown Charleston so I expected to see a post like this indicating that the Southern Charmers would be involved. 🙄 If they really were shooting, then the producers are also truly awful people. 😠

Their downtown partying would have ended yesterday though. Effective today all restaurants and bars are take-out and delivery only. No sit-down service at all and groups are limited to less than 50 people, per executive order by the Governor. I feel for the local businesses; not so much for these selfish idiots.

This was posted on Austen's IG two days ago.  Looks like a filming opportunity, which would place the bulk of responsibility on production co. (imo), but they all should have been taking the COVID19 more seriously then as well, especially Katherine, due to the kids.  smh

The obviously took a lot of heat, based on the following post, which is rather smart-assed:

A year or two ago, Shep also replied to some social media post aggressively.

My guess is they get a fair number of trolls attacking them or insulting them and they've decided to hit back aggressively.

So Austen may be inclined to clap back hard.

Doesn't justify it, maybe explains it.

Or they could be asshats too.

I don't really care one way or the other.  I just know that if one chooses to earn an income in the public eye and put oneself "out there" on social media, one should expect trolls I guess.  It's a shame, but the keyboard warriors don't seem to be dying off, lol.  Plus, I do think they are asshats, lol.

I believe South Carolina is one of 8 states which does not have a stay at home order.

OK, Cam was right to speak out but she should do a spell check first, especially on capitalized words like "INSENSED"

I saw that and almost corrected her, but I’m sure other petty followers like me have already. At any rate, I appreciate her using her platform to speak up and publicize the ugly political wrongs in her state. Especially critical she uses this time wisely since supposedly she’s not going to be on the next season of SC.

On the spell check issue: People Magazine is no better. SC's Governor is Henry McMaster. In the article's secondary headline and again in the first paragraph, he's referred to as McCaster. Do publications  employ proofreaders any more?

Cameran is right to be concerned. She lives in Mount Pleasant. MP and the other Zip codes east of the Cooper River have some of the highest confirmed case numbers in the state. The Mayor of the City of Charleston itself issued a Stay-at-home order a while back. Photos of the city have it looking like a ghost town. Not so Mount Pleasant.

Governor McMaster has issued many, piecemeal restrictive Executive Orders, but seems steadfast in not issuing an actual Stay-At-Home order. South Carolina is the only state east of the Mississippi River without one, even though each state's order is different.  For example, Florida's Stay-At-Home order puts churches in the "essential business" category, meaning that services at the state's megachurches continue. 🙄Georgia's Governor, despite the Stay-At-Home order in place, re-opened Georgia's beaches this weekend. 🙄

This article is three days old but gives you some idea of how social distancing ISN'T working in South Carolina!

In her stories tonight was she shading Austen and Craig for being quarantine buddies? Did anyone else get that?

She was actually Reposting Metul’s Instastory. It also covers Shep who has different friends over all the time and goes back and forth to Hilton Head.

Regardless of whether or not South Carolina has a statewide stay-at-home order in place, the perceived indifference  by certain members of the cast is completely unpalatable to me. It’s stomach churning.

Does anyone here follow Craig & Austen on Instagram? Because Austen is apparently quarantining with Craig at his house(he recently moved down the street from Craig), so they’ve started to regularly host IG Live’s some nights called “Pillow Talk” where they get disgustingly drunk/stoned and chat with various Bravolebrities/friends and fans.

It was vaguely interesting the first few times I participated/watched it, because Craig in particular tends to get gladly shitfaced, spills wine all over himself and says weird things, while Austen misquotes movie characters and rambles endlessly.
Although it’s extra funny to see them attempt to not giggle at various fan comments/questions as they get drunker. Funny quips about T-Rav/JD particularly seem to tickle them(although they wisely never actually reply to those).

They’ve had everyone from Below Deck’s Kate Chastain on(which is amusing considering Austen didn’t know who she was at BravoCon) to SC Savannah cast members, to Kathryn and Whitney, etc.

Anyways, Austen/Craig usually get to singing incomprehensibly to the point that I’m starting to consider them Southern Beavis & Butthead; this is not a compliment. Also, why am I not surprised that they both claim to regularly play video games at all hours?

Except he isn’t really quarantining there he splits his time between Craig’s and Madison’s place and I imagine there is a good chance that Madison’s kid splits his time with his mom and dad so they don’t really have a good grasp of this whole stay at home thing. Of course they are doing better than Shep.

No I've never seen that.  Enh, maybe watching them alone wouldn't be all that exciting but having Kat or especially Whit on there would be fun.

Season 1 marathon  on right now—my favorite season.  Back to the glory days of the original cast, and before Thomas and Kathryn brought 2 kids into their shitstorm. Even though I didn’t care for Jenna, I like her over Austen, and I’m not that big of a Chelsea fan.

Most *especially* the guys have aged—-Thomas obviously looks older thanks to his lifestyle/advanced age, two young kids and legal/relationship drama, but I’m not sure why Whitney suddenly looks at least 10 years older...as for Shep and Craig, I just think all the partying has gradually caught up with them. They were already local partyboys, but I think it only intensified once the show became a hit and they started making more appearances and ramped up the partying for future seasons.

Really sad to watch JD acting like such the wise and respected “family man” around his wife/kids, knowing what we know now...his marriage, businesses and reputation went completely down the drain just a few years ago...wonder what the ol’ red-faced buffoon is up to nowadays...

Jenna was vaguely interesting style-wise, but she was such a snooze onscreen! Which is weird in retrospect because she acts completely differently/weirder on social media...I did love that snazzy old downtown home her rich boyfriend rented for her, but yeah, her whole defensive spiel of “investments” as her claim for that high life was so laughable. Plus, she just didn’t fit in with that crew at all...I’m not a huge fan of Austen or Chelsea either, but I found them way better fits for the cast than her. Hell, even that giggly twat Landon came off as a better overall fit.

Yeah, this was such an amazing season and proved how shit the show has sadly become...I miss the posh gatherings, the hunting/fishing trips, the real estate porn...and awful as he truly is, I’ll always miss Thomas on here. All the oddly amusing/weird drama and Old Southern upscale linage he solely brought to the show, while everyone else basically reacted to it with their smaller side stories.

I adored this season and went into mourning when the show disintegrated into trash. There were some problems (no diversity), but this gang knew how to hold witty conversations and show us their lives in an appealing way.

Watching the Season 5 marathon:

  • While his blatant misogyny is really, really gross, Thomas trying to speak French will never not be funny to me.
  • Peyton’s “audition” for cast member falling flat
  • Kathryn’s affect seems really flat
  • Craig is really dumb
  • JD makes my skin crawl

Discovered this show is on binge today, so I tuned in and, as bad luck would have it, it's the thrice-damned ashley season. Some days I just can't win. Redeeming factoid - it is actually a Kathryn sympathetic (well, largely) season, so there's that.

I'm waiting to see who is actually coming back - if there is to be a new season - there are some folks whose absence would ruin it for me, so I'll have to wait and see.

Looks like Kathryn just received her first professional blow thanks to her social media hijinks. Gwynn’s is no longer associating with her and has removed mostly all of her pics from their Instagram account:
