Kathryn was just working at the store for the show but Chelsea has been a hair stylist long before she was on the show and still works as one when not filming.

Right but if she knew she was going to be on the show for another 5-10 years at that salary or greater, she may quickly lose interest in grinding it out.

Presumably she'd also get her own place instead of having a room mate if she expected to be on the show for several seasons.

This probably isn’t the right thread, but I only got into this show a month ago.  Binge watched all seasons.  Cannot believe I didn’t watch sooner!!  My question is, does anyone know why JD closed Sermet’s?  As I understand it, there was some shadiness re: the bourbon line, but I’m still not sure why he closed Sermet’s.

If Sermet's is the restaurant, I believe it was mentioned here (perhaps an article linked), that he wasn't paying his bills...specifically owed a monstrous amount in back rent among other things, and was being sued 6 ways from Sunday.

I ordered a cute little sundress from her biz and it gets so many compliments! She couldn’t have been nicer to deal with—-she accidentally sent two dresses with my order but gave me a 50% off voucher on my next order due to this mistake.

She’s got some genuinely cute items on there and I love seeing how happy she seems now as a mom; nice to watch someone on this show besides just Cameron grow and mature in such a healthy overall way. Hopefully Naomi can follow suit now that she just started an online apparel biz as well.

I don't think it was an arc specifically for the show. I think Kathryn is a "brand ambassador" for the store. It's what the kids do on IG to make money. Which is why we still see her posting things for and about them when the show isn't filming. It may not be a "typical" job, but I think she definitely works for them in whatever capacity they need. They need her to be a stylist for a scene and she does it. They need her to model their clothes and post about it on IG, she does it. It's still a legitimate job, just not a traditional one. In fact, I think she may be a brand ambassador for multiple products - which is great because with the right niche it can pay tons more than the SC gig does.

Sure, if living like a grandma, means working a daily job, surfing, skateboarding, biking, playing archery, etc. - man, I'd like to be that kind of grandma. He and Chelsea met August of last year when Chelsea went to Boston and Rhode Island for a vacation. He’s visited her a couple of times in Charleston. She’s really good at keeping things on the down low. She knows it’s pretty exhausting to scrub your IG later on if it doesn’t work out. Heh!

He’s totally anti-Austen. I bet he can tell her lots of good stories about an ocean adventure without mentioning beer every sentence.

But without the Victoria storyline, what was Austen ever going to do?!
