Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I thought the book idea had died a timely death after being publicly mocked; however, it's back. It must have risen from its grave in the backyard rock garden.

Wow. They [the daughters] look like ghosts from the 1980s.

Jill, on the other hand, chose a very different look for her cover photo. That pushup bra must have been exhausted after working so hard that day.

Jill just announced that after "hours and hours," she's finished with her "book." No need for a publisher; HUNK is going to print it. I guess that will keep the kids busy for a week or so.

She’s also posted a 15-minute video of her preaching.

Isn't it against the rules for women to preach if men might be listening?

As for hours and hours to finish her book, I bet most of the time was spent taking photos to put on the cover. If I remember correctly, Jill didn't mention having Hunk publish the book the first time it came up. We talked about it, but I don't think she did. Could she have spent time looking for a publisher, only to be rejected repeatedly?

I listened to the Lawson Bates song.  That's the first time I've ever heard him sing.  He does okay, but doesn't have a very strong voice.  I guess we know why he hooked up with a girl who has show business contacts.  He wants to be famous.  I wonder how he would react if he ended up in Aunt Cade's situation, sitting in the background of his famous wife.

I dunno, I could also see Lawson loving the idea of being the arm candy for his famous girlfriend, being her escort on the red carpet and being papped while playing cop.

I wonder if Jill appreciates the difference between publishing and printing. You just know she tried to get someone at a Christian publisher to take it on.

I bet this will be printed on cheap paper and spiral bound at best. I hope that they are printing them on demand because I doubt that they will sell many of them. I can just imagine stacks of and stacks of them sitting on pallets in the barnado for years, gathering dust much like all of Jill’s tacky decor.

Spiral bound is too expensive, they will have the kids use staplers to put the book together.

i pictured the kids with one of those machines that does the plastic binding that are used in schools and for church fundraiser cookbooks.

surely the book will be on full display at every rod grifting event along with the not Nurie's etsy store items

I am trying to remember what new equipment they have purchased for the printing ministry - a folding machine for sure, but I don't recall a binding machine.

I, too, was employed by Planned Parenthood at one point and we had a manual to use when counseling women who were uncertain what they were going to do,  Every single one was given information on all options including adoption and keeping the baby as well as resources to help her if she chose either of those things.

We also didn't tell people that life begins at conception and that the fetus' right to be born superceded any rights of the mother because that is a personal opinion, not a fact.  We did acknowledge that many had personal or religious beliefs on the subject that could influence the decision but it wasn't my job to tell a woman what she should believe.  BTW, I do believe that life begins at conception and would personally never have had an abortion, but, I also believe that others are entitled to their beliefs and that, if they wanted an abortion, it needed to be done safely and competently.

Thank you. You said it better than I could! In my experience, every single employee who counseled women about their options was completely neutral and gave only factual information.

I also worked for Catholic Charities as a professional social worker and we traveled to Catholic high schools in a mobile unit, offering a variety of services. They also supported me in giving patients ALL of the options. And yes, I did give a patient abortion referrals when asked. Catholic charities supported me, so not all “Christian”’ organizations believe in forcing their beliefs on patients/clients.

David is a tract printer. Quantity, not quality, is his goal.

How did Hunk put together the booklet Jill wrote about Amy's accident for the first ladies' retreat? It may have been stapled, but I can't remember.

If Jilly's book is stapled, its distribution will be limited to church luncheons. I don't see this book making it to Amazon. Oh, but the joy of seeing the reviews there.

I'd like to know if Jill approached publishers, and they turned her down. I think she'd want a Christian publishing company to pick up the book, but they can't be that desperate.

Jill probably checked with some Christian printers and was referred to a vanity printer. No way Jilly is paying out of pocket to print her words of wisdom but I won’t be surprised if she doesn’t use the pamphlets printed by David to beg for donations to get a bigger book published.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing her brag about all the teens who have come to her praising her booklet for saving them from a life of sluttish depravity and begging for more.

Professional (as in a real, honest-to-God) graphic designer here. So she spent “hours and hours” writing her “book?” Um… ok. I create a national newspaper, 28 pages, published monthly. I have been doing this for years, got it down pat, and I easily spend “hours and hours” ~ in reality, 8-10 hours putting it together. On a big-girl computer. I can’t imagine what her “book” looks like… 🙄

If she sends this mess to her likeminded churches, I'm sure she will get some praise and a few purchases if the price is low enough. I'm sure it's cheaper than giving her a side of beef, which is what she really needs to feed her children.

I like the thought of judgmental Jill getting rejections for her writing, something she has not a bit of training, talent, or ability to do.  She has no problem looking down on other people, so the world is righting itself.

Not Nuries will be selling that “book” every where they go to sing for supper.  So not only will they sing/play instruments they will also do that. I bet Jill also sells Plexus at the table at every grifting stop.

Does he mean he cannot play with his little Timothy as much as he wants? Or live his life as he wants? What does God want for Timothy? To please MAMA 4 Eva and Eva. And live in a smelly van by the house with no toilet. Also I bet one brother lives with him to spy on him. Doubt sweet mama leaves Tim alone for long.

What happened to his solo singing career? MAMA realized it’s not happening? Or she decided to spend all her energy to marry off the girls and become a best selling author?

Tim Tim Tim run away when SWEET mama is sleeping off her Plexus high. Daddy isn’t capable of running after you. And you can probably outrun MAMA dearest.

Maybe she is planning on using her child tax credits that start this month to publish. Or will she be sending them back? 🤣

Jill will probably built a second bedroom for her stuffed animal collection and her grandfather clock with that $. And eat out a LOT.

After volunteering she only bought 1 coffee for the 3 of them. With all the free $ she got her 2 kids deserved their own drink and a sandwich.

In the Fathers Day sermon, HUNK said the Lord brought them the Stimmy checks to help build the barndo. The latest child credits are similarly sent to finance the new living room. 🙄

It's only SOSHALIZM if the money goes to other people, especially all those sinners.

I wish Madeline Maxwell a speedy and full recovery, and her parents some peaceful thoughts. Nobody deserves what they are going through, although I do wish they'd give the credit to science instead of their sky fairy (as if).

During Jill’s preaching I think she said plexus is as good as Botox??? I was skimming through her sermon. Anyone else hear that too???

Is drinking Plexus sufficient, or would I have to inject it?

When you think about it, Plexus costs about as much as botox.

Plexus would probably cost more, once you factor in the gastroenterology appointment I would likely need after ingesting Plexus.

Topic: Somebody should tell Jill she can self-publish her righteous tome on Amazon. It couldn't possibly be worse than some of the absolute crap I've seen self-published for Kindle.

Jill’s “book” can be used in ESL classes to correct all the mistakes. Perfect for teaching people on how NOT to write like Jill.

I would have written

I loved taking my dear and sweet friend Lynn out to dinner. Lynn, I enjoyed your company! I love you, Jill!

Like those 2 kids ever had 1 vitamin in their life.

Sorry, that is hardly a ringing endorsement. Two paper thin children are not the model of good health.

I know, I wouldn't buy it based on that picture. They look sickly and only a dingbat like Jill would think that's a good way to promote her MLM scam.

Yep. I also thought that when I saw the post. There has to be something in it for JillR and Plexus seems to be at the top of her life priorities, right up there with Jesus and her best husband evah.
